I AM DONE 😭😭 Exam week is behind me, I am literally sobbing, I am exhausted beyond repair, but it is done!! Five more days of work and then I (hopefully) shall have my life back-

#I wanna draw so bad - but I also want to sleep for 14 hours straight #also I should probably really not work next week I landed myself both once at the doctors office and once at the hospital last week #when I said 'I will finish this week even if it kills me' my body was like. 👀 I can do that #but honestly that was my own stupidity also #I could take this to the educational route but let me just say if you do have an infected wound anywhere go 👏 to 👏 your 👏 doctor #that being said I have at least one exam finished with 100% (which wasn't THAT hard) and I can talk about autoimmune responses and then- #I cough and I die #academia yes but absolutely no common sense #i'm still having a fever tho #I wanna sleep till next year

jack would be a stem kid because he loves doing experiments the scientific method is his best friend he loves being hands on and getting to be like I was wrong but the right answer is way cooler than I thought it would be and he loves the connections between art and science, like the way chemical reactions are responsible for why pottery glaze looks so cool and how talented at art you have to be to be good at any kind of diagramming or bio illustration

and davey would be a stem kid because people are more impressed by good grades in science and math classes than english classes so he works harder at them even though he really loves language more than numbers and when he ends up in a class with jack who seems to be goofing off all the time he's annoyed by how little work he seems to put in until he realizes actually jack is really smart but completely unaware of it because he thinks he's goofing off when he's actually running pretty well-designed experiments for fun (unsanctioned by the instructor) in between steps of the lab.

#can't decide if this is funnier in high school or college #i think college bc i think. jack is an art major chem minor and everyone is like why would u do that and he's like I like mixing things up #and davey is a biochem major whos like this guy is a nightmare the first class they share #and then is his assigned lab partner the next semester and is like good grief this is going to be miserable #until they do their first lab and jack is Really good at it. he's chattering away abt his sculpture class and how hard it is #while achieving results with Way less deviation from the perfect result than anyone else bc he's genuinely obsessed with chemistry and love #loves it so much. #anyway. i love this for them ive decided <3 #jack would be besties with the chem professor everyone else is soooo intimidated by #bc he has No fear of authority and he's so passionate abt chem #he's like hey. can i use the lab during your office hours to do experiments for fun. and the prof is like #uh. sure? and then spends an hour or so a week supervising jack having fun in the lab #but jack is also obsessed with the way numbers works so its always a very well designed and calculated experiment #he even does lab reports for his random experiments and is like look :) I made a new color. do you think I can use this as a pigment?

#random personal stuff #personal whining ahead feel free to ignore #I have come to a conclusion #the next time I get another printed email with written instructions shoved at me #I am going to tell this man point-blank to forward me the original email with any additional information #and politely insist that these communications happen through email not paper #I don't think that's unreasonable #it is better for record-keeping that all of these communications take place through email #it's less wasteful of paper #I am not asking for complex monumental effort or even any extra effort at all #it is 2024 we have been using email at work for decades and surely emailing someone is not an impossible task #actually probably less time-consuming than printing emails and writing on them #if he can communicate through email with the professors making the requests and with our boss who is out this week he can email me too #and if he gets huffy about it and acts like I'm being unreasonable like he did last time I asked for a change #(i.e. please turn down your volume) #then that's on him #maybe I'm allowed to have reasonable expectations in this office too #(as I was typing this he shoved into my mailbox a printout of a record of a book he wants me to delete or something *sigh*) #(I'll build up to that but for now I'm starting with standing my ground on emails about book orders)

Got a 96 on my first anatomy exam (online tests are nice because instant grade results) but I feel like I had to climb a mountain to do it because i couldn't find a close parking lot and had to walk across campus to the accessibility office to take it.

Accessibility fail. Fucking do better, colleges. Physically disabled people want to get education too.

Hey y’all! Can you please send me pictures of your favorite animals?  I am stressing out about all -ologists I’ll be going to over the next few months and could really use a distraction. On the one hand, I am grateful I can see these doctors, and that my new PCP is taking my health issues seriously and referring me to specialists. On the other, I have been caught in a never ending merry go round of specialists for more than a decade. I am tired. I never get answers, they always just take money and refer me to a new specialist in a loop, and the latest loop has led to the discovery that I am allergic to neurologists.  So...please send me pictures of your favorite animals (for plushie inspiration, and also just because animals are adorable)

I have a family history and symptoms of Addison's #and B. Addison's is a lot more common than pheochromocytomas #and C. I TEST ON THE RANGE TO HAVE ADDISONS #but no! that's not enough for a diagnosis with Addison's! #gotta test for the damn pheochromocytomas again! #I have been tested for that five fucking times and I have to come off of my meds every time #the first three times I had to come off my meds for a week but I got so sick they switched it to being only off them for a day #but that STILL makes me sick every time #I don't have a pheochromocytoma. In fact I have the opposite of the symptoms of a pheochromocytoma #in that one of the main symptoms is HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE #and I always always test negative but hey! better check again!

also i think i am having a bad allergic reaction to the mold in my office. there’s mold in my office btw

#their solution was to clean the carpets and talking about hiring pros to come in and clean the walls #then sending out an email about how taking everything off the walls would too hard. #but there’s lysol wipes in the hall if you’d like to clean them yourself #anyways i started getting a really bad cough and a little congestion last week. #also had a covid exposure at the office so i was freaking + testing like crazy bc i was getting respiratory symptoms + mildly elevated temp #all negative‚ requested an extra remote day just to be safe. cough went away and i felt much better after a few days. figured it was a cold. #worked my first full day in the office again today and the cough is mysteriously back and worse. #now i’m no doctor house but — #ig my next move is getting tested for mold allergy? #and if i have to submit an ada request to have Working In A Place With No Mold be granted as a reasonable accommodation. #that will legitimately be the funniest thing ive ever done. #there is everyone’s too much personal detail liz update of the day We Live in A Society

I haven't napped this much since I was on antidepressants

#im so exhausted #im sad and anxious and my stomach feels like its on fire rn #i got abnormal blood test results on Friday right when all the offices closed #after going to the hospital that morning for OTHER test results that were extremely concerning #(only to find out THOSE results were a mistake) #and ive spent all weekend working myself into a spiral over these fucking results #and i wont even know what they mean until tomorrow at the earliest #and im so tired of getting bloodwork done 😞 ive gone like 3 times in a week and a half #and all of this extea testing isnt even WHY i went to the doctor in the first place!!! #so even after i figure out this shit i STILL have to get a colonoscopy next week 🙃 #i just want to feel better 😞
