Hello, Hello!!
You said your requests are open, yes? Well, im here to submit one if it's not a burden <33
Can I request Fyodor Dostoevsky x Male reader who is a religious cult leader? (You can choose it's it's yandere, platonic, romantic, etc)
For example, the reader is a priest but is super nice, a little too nice-- Fyodor happens to run across him during in what the start of season four would be(when the ADA didn't listen to Ranpo's starting point) and deemed m/n as just: "a feeble priest" who invited him to church, however, when Fyodor decides to go to the church out of curiosity he finds out m/n is insane for whatever god he worships, instead of his soft and caring personality he had when he first met Fyodor; he now has a more crazed and insane one, "reaching the holy words" and screaming obscenities to the rest of the church members in the pews?
And possibly for an interesting touch(only for the drama because im quite obsessed with dramatic stories where characters get surprised when m/n does something), the reader usually keeps their eyes closed, eventually leading people into thinking that he is blind, only for him to open his eyes when he's doing cultist meetings?
I know this is such a strange ask 😭😭 and if it makes you uncomfortable I understand 100%, this is actually a storyline for one of my ocs, and I thought it would be neat to see this sort of storyline in your style and as a fanfic!!
(P.S I HAVE READ SOME OF YOUR WRITING AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH 😭❤️❤️ I don't request often either so I wanted you to know this is how much I appreciate your writing style)
thanks for requesting!
☆ the wolf in sheep's clothing
fyodor dostoevsky x male reader [he / him]
sypnosis: above!
the lowercase is intentional !
Tumblr media
you were going about your day, on your way to your work as a priest before bumping into a man. this man was no ordinary man, it was fyodor dostoevsky, a member of the decay of angels. but you didn't know that yet, and neither did he know about your secret profession.
"i'm so, so sorry!" you stutter out with a bow, keeping a nice, caring persona on to lure fyodor in. your eyes are closed, so you can't make out what the man infront of you looks like, but you take a quick peak at him before closing your eyes again. "it's alright," he smirked. "don't worry about it." his accent was thick and heavy. you were now more curious about him. you were definitely going to try and lure him into your cult.
"my name's [name]. i am truly sorry for bumping into you.." your eyes are closed and fyodor can now understand why you bumped into him. you were probably blind, so he felt a little sympathetic towards your case, which was a surprise from him. "it's okay, don't worry about it truly. i'm fyodor." he smiled, even though you wouldn't be able to see.
you bowed at him again, still muttering a string of apologies before he takes your shoulder in his hand. "please stop apologising, i've already forgiven you." the contact made you shiver, but in a good way. you looked up at him again. "okay, okay. sorry. would you like to come over to come over to my church? i was just on the way now before bumping into you. it'll be my way of showing gratitude and forgiveness." you smile, but there's a hint of evil about your smile that fyodor doesn't seem to catch on to.
"oh, well i don't see why not." fyodor smiled in response. "if you're insisting, i'll come along. i guess it is really the only way you could repay me." the black haired man continued smiling. fyodor was geniunely curious about your church. what god did you worship? etc, etc. those questions were running through his mind. he also liked how sweet you were, it was like he could take advantage of you if he'd like to later. but he was wrong, of course. you didn't show him how you truly were. a cruel, evil cult leader. you simply acted all sweet to lure more people into your trap.
the two of you then arrived at the church. it was lively as people were waiting for the next session to take place and they were waiting for [name] to lead it. you had a smirk on your face as you faced fyodor again. "you just sit where you like and have a little listen to my ceremony, okay?" you smile sweetly at him, but your intentions are far from sweet.
the atmosphere of the church was also quite sinister.. but fyodor couldn't tell what was off about the whole place just yet. he decided to go along with whatever you had planned. he sat down in a seat near the back and waited for you to start.
you walk to the altar and get your things ready to prepare your next speech for your followers. you enjoy the feeling that you have a new guest today - fyodor. maybe you'd convince him to join your 'true' religion in the end and get him to praise your 'true' god.
"greetings, guests!" you call out, finally opening your eyes to scan the eyes of the audience. fyodor was a little startled at first. he didn't think you could see.. but maybe that was just a slight misjudgment on his behalf, so he tried to brush it off and not seem ignorant.
everyone was already shouting praises at you, even though you had only said two words. everyone sitting in the rows at the church were all familiar faces that you knew. you took your time usually to greet each individual once you entered the church, but today was different. you were running late due to fyodor, so you'd leave all the friendliness with your followers to later.
"i assume everyone knows why we're gathered here today?" you ask and people in the crowd yell back a string of 'yes'es or just screams. "oh but of course, there is someone new here today!" an evil grin grows on your face as you turn to look at fyodor. "I hope everyone will be nice to our hopefully new follower!" your grin then turns into a sweet smile, hints of evil still around it. your voice was sickeningly sweet as well, starting to creep fyodor of all people out a little bit too.
"today we are gathered yet again to praise the true god!" you yell out, your voice starting to grow more and more menacing as you praised this false god. "not the ones those so called real worshipers follow.. our god!" everyone started cheering your name, they seemed to be just as brainwashed, or even worse than you.
fyodor was starting to get a little creeped out. he wanted to leave, and fast. he didn't intend on meeting a cult leader in the first place. he just thought he had bumped into a sweet, innocent and blind man. but oh how he was so wrong.
your words started to linger in fyodor's mind. everything you said about this god stuck out to him. some of his curiosity was peaked, maybe it was because of you - not the person you decided to worship. something about you seemed so interesting, fyodor forgot his intentions on leaving now. he wanted to stay and listen to your voice forever.
maybe it was your voice, the way you spoke about this idol you worshipped. or maybe it was how captivating you were, the way you faked your sweet charm just to lure him in. whatever it was, fyodor was definitely interested. he was definitely going to be coming back for more talks.. mostly because he wanted to be by your side though.
once the 'prayer' meeting was over and you had said goodbye to each of your guests, you decide to go back to fyodor and have a chat with him. he had a surprised look on his face the entire time you spoke and you were certainly amused by that. "well hello, fyodor." you spoke, a smirk on your face. it the exact one you had playing on your face when fyodor first came into the church. "i see you enjoyed your time here, yes?" you asked, leaning close to him. he immediately nodded, captivated by your alluring voice.
"yes, i did enjoy it. for more reasons than you may think, however." fyodor laughed lightly, looking at you. "it is safe to say, i will be returning.. only if i am not busy with my own plans you see." he smiled at you, slightly returning the smirk you had on your lips. "of course, of course! you are welcome to join us anytime. i will be delighted." you chuckled back, pleased to hear that the ravenette will be returning.
fyodor had practically forgotten who you were - a cult leader that just spewed obscenities to his followers. he had completely zoned out.. but he wasn't that innocent of a man either, so he couldn't blame you. fyodor was truly fascinated about your act, maybe he could learn a thing or two from the wolf in sheep's clothing...

this is like, years late, but here u go!
Fluff
gn!Reader
Word count: 1108 (whoops!)
Ranpo + “We’ve become the clingy newlyweds you always complained about. ”
Tumblr media
You rolled off the bed as the morning rays hit your sleep-deprived face, urging you to finally wake up and start your day. Your warm feet hit the carpeted floor, and you mindlessly flopped them around in search of your slippers. Upon finally finding them, you slid your feet into the cosy, fuzzy footwear, and walked out of the bedroom. Groggily making your way to the kitchen, you put the water for heating and proceeded to freshen up, grabbing your toothbrush on the way. You made yourself a nice mug of black coffee, the bitter sting of the dark liquid relaxing your tastebuds with a strange familiarity. You closed your eyes as you rested against the kitchen counter, and sipped your morning coffee in peace. That is, until you realised that a certain someone was yet to wake up. Your eyes shot open as you gasped.
“Ranpo!”
You gulped down the rest of it, not bothering to cool it down, and simply letting the coffee burn your tongue a bit. Rushing into your shared room, you huffed at the raven haired sleeping beauty. You angrily yanked the blanket off of the poor male, causing him to jerk and inevitably wake up.
“What the hell!”, Ranpo screamed as he curled into a tiny ball, trying to cling onto the little bit warmth he had left.
“I should be saying that to you!”, you said, crossing your arms.
“I know!”, he said, further hiding his face into the crook of his elbows, avoiding you.
You walk over to him and start peeling his hands away from his face.
“Leave me aloooooone!”, he whined, protesting against your forceful tugs.
“I can’t do that, Edo, and you know it! If you don’t wake up now, you’ll be super late for work!”
“I don’t care! Let me sleep!”
You gave up, sighing. You knew that the president of the ada wasn’t a very lenient man, and that he appreciated discipline. You wondered why he hadn’t fired your husband yet.
“That’s because I’m the smartest detective out there! Now leave me alone, and stop thinking so much!”
Ranpo suddenly whined, startling you. Did he just read your mind? What was he, a bloody sorcerer?
“No, I’m just very smart, and know you well enough to guess exactly what’s going on in that brain of yours.”
Ranpo said, turning around to look at you with an exasperated look on his face.
“Now, will you please stop thinking? It’s very annoying and very loud!”
He huffed, turning around and dozing off to sleep.
“Well, you better be ready in 15 minutes, because I’ll be leaving for work in 15 minutes, and won’t be able to drop you to work!”
You said, turning on your heels and making your way out.
Ranpo’s ears perked up at that, and he shot up from his position on the bed.
“Have fun navigating to the ada alone, darling!”
You blew him a cheeky kiss, and closed the door behind you, grinning when you heard the sheets rustling and frantic movements from the other side
Just as you had expected, your husband was ready to leave for work in the next 15 minutes, and you both had your breakfasts before preparing to leave for the day. As you were about to step out, Ranpo stopped you.
“You didn’t take you phone. And your file, the one you had to submit today, is still lying on the table.”
You patted your pants, realising that you had, in fact, forgotten your phone. And if your husband is saying that your forgot your file, then you probably did.
“Shit. Thanks babe.”
You hurried to gather your things, and then left the house. As you both took your respective seats on the metro, Ranpo placed his chin on your shoulder.
“Hey, Y/N?”
You looked at him with a smile, “Hmm?”
“I think we should buy a car.”
You raised your brows.
“Oh? But we don’t need it, do we?”
“We need it.”
“The public transport is good! We don’t need a car, Edo.”
“We do.”
“Care to explain why?”
“It’s unsafe at night. What if something happened when you are returning home?”
You blinked confusedly at him.
“But you’ll be with me, won’t you? It’s our routine: I walk over to the ada, and the both of us catch a train home from there.”
Ranpo sighed, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck. You slid your arm around his waist, pulling him into your side.
“What’s wrong, dove?”
He sighed again, and picked his head up to kiss your cheek.
“I may be super smart, intelligent and resourceful, the best detective in the world, Y/N, but I lack in muscle. If someone was to try something, I’m not certain that I’d be able to get us out of the situation.”
His emerald eyes saddened as he said this, and he intertwined his fingers with yours.
“And I… I don’t know what I’d do if something bad was to happen to you.”
You smiled at him, and pecked his lips, trying to soothe him.
“Don’t worry about that, love. I am pretty good at combat myself, so I can do the beating up, while you come up with an escape plan! How does that sound, hmm?”
Ranpo pondered on the thought, and finally gave in. He hugged you, and mumbled, “Sounds good.”, into your shoulder.
You kissed his head, and played with his hair.
You both sat in comfortable silence, until you noticed a young couple sitting in your booth. They were both giving you looks of mild disgust. You raised an eyebrow at this.
“Hey, Edo, do you see that couple there?”
Ranpo looked around and spotted two teenagers looking your way.
“What about them?”
“They’ve been giving us weird looks for quite a while now.”
You said.
Ranpo furrowed his brows.
“They’re weirded out because of our closeness.”, he deduced, confused.
You furrowed your brows, until you realised that they were cringing at the pda you and your husband were indulging in.
Chuckling, you kissed your intertwined hands.
“They’re weirded out because we’ve become the clingy newlyweds you always complained about. ”
Ranpo frowned at this.
“We’re not clingy!”
“Yes we are!”
“No! This is just affection! It’s not clingy!”
“Ranpo, you’re literally almost sitting on my lap.”
“So what?! You’re my lawfully wedded lover! Can I not sit on my partner?!”
“I- Ranpo, surely you understand that sitting on your lover is being clingy-”
“Gah! I know! Shut up.”
He whined, clinging onto you even more than before.

I Won’t Say I’m in Love : Thranduil X Female! Reader
Tumblr media
Prompts: “Hi can I request a Thranduil x elf! reader imagine where he likes her but is too prideful to admit it so the reader & Legolas put on a show to make him jealous?” & “Can you write a Thranduil x fem elf! reader imagine, based on the song I won’t say (i’m in love) from the movie Hercules please??”
Submitted by: @elia-the-bibliophile
Words: 2.5K
A/N: Sorry I’ve been so behind on my writings, so much has been going on and its really been stifling my writing process. But I hope you guys enjoy this, I lost the original draft and completely rewrote it from scratch. Also, this has now become one of my longest ficlets! Also its not edited yet but I will go through soon and fix any errors!  Also will add to masterlist soon!
----------------
The first time the elf king laid his eyes on you, you had been a force to be reckoned with. Your hands were gripping dual swords, and you had made your way across the battlefield with grace, slicing down any orc that had found itself unlucky enough to be in your path.
He had taken a sharp breath and tried to remember that he was standing in a battlefield, but watching you move he felt a tug at his heartstrings. He could not even bare to tear his eyes away from you as he swung his own blade at an orc that had gotten to close for comfort. The foul things head had come off and landed at his feet, and yet he watched as you jumped up and planted your feet into another elf’s back, sending him flying out of the way of an arrow that surely would have ended his life. You had used the momentum to flip around and land back on your feet just in time to deflect another arrow with one blade, while using the other one to slash at the orc nearest you.
Thranduil’s face remained impassive, after all he was a king and he had some image to uphold, but he was finally able to draw his eyes away from you. He knew he had seen your face in his kingdom before, but now you were on his radar. He moved through the battle with new vigor, intent on being able to look upon your face once every filthy orc on the field had had its life snuffed out.
----
“Legolas, you really should not make bets that you know you cannot win” you stated, as another guard tossed a bag of coin into your waiting hand. You smiled as you waggled the coin bag in front of your friend’s face, and all he could manage in response was an incoherent mumble.
You had just drunk Legolas under the table, which was usually how these sorts of bets with him panned out. You couldn’t help but to laugh at him before you lifted him up, supporting him with your shoulder and following the familiar route to his room. As you passed into the royal suite of rooms, you noticed Legolas had fallen asleep while slung across your shoulder. You sighed before you opened the door to his room and threw him, rather ungracefully, onto his bed.  You shook your head, a smile still gracing your lips, before dusting your hands off on your tunic and heading out the door.
As you closed the door and turned around you were met with the rather imposing figure of the king.
“There must be good reason for you to be sneaking out of my sons room at this time of night” Thranduil said, his gaze sharp as he looked down at you, but you could see the twinkle in his eyes. You were unsure what such a twinkle meant in comparison to the glare he sent down at you. You had always been unsure about the way he saw you.
“Aran nín (my king)” You started, as you dipped your head into a bow, “He decided that he could beat me in a drinking contest. I’m simply doing the right thing by escorting him to his bed when he could not even manage to hold his own weight up.” You replied as you tried to hide your smile from remembering your friend’s antics.
His face remained impassive, although you were sure you saw his lip twitch.
“Well to make up for my sons... disagreeable behavior, it would be my pleasure to escort you back to your room, híril nîn (my lady)” he said as he fell into place next to you, his hand resting on the small of your back as you both trekked to your room. You tried your best to stay calm, but you felt as if your heart was in your throat and you were sure Thranduil could hear it. His hand never moved from your back, and when you reached your door, he took your hand in his and placed a kiss on your palm before bidding you goodnight. You almost squealed with delight but instead you smiled and kept composure, waiting to lose it as you jumped into bed for the night.
You absolutely adored Thranduil. He was by far the handsomest elf you had ever laid your eyes upon, something you had thought even when you were a small elleth who ran around the kingdom. His eyes were an ocean, and you desired nothing more to swim in them everyday for the rest of your life. The way his hand had been on your back, the way his lips had lingered on your palm, all gave you hope that maybe he felt the same, but reality came crashing down every time you met his gaze. He did not smile, and his face was always hardened with a glare. Somedays you wondered if he felt anything at all, while on others you wished that we would gaze upon you as if you were is beloved, his treasure.
 ----
If there's a prize for rotten judgement,
I guess I've already won that
No woman is worth the aggravation,
That's ancient history, been there, done that!
As Thranduil left from your rooms, he had clenched his hand to his side. He should have said something, but what good would that have done. His pride always got the better of him and caused him to hold his tongue. He was the king! How could he bring himself to admit that he was feeling something for you?
The past had not been kind to him in regards to love. He spoke nothing of Elerrian anymore, and although he cared much for her, she had passed long ago, leaving him alone in a cold world. Looking at you, he felt the tug on his emotions he once had with her. To him, it was almost as if a string of fate had been wrapped around both your pinkies, and it was all he could do to ignore the pulling sensation he felt.
He dare not fall into the pits of love once more, as much as he wished he could. He recalls the day he saw you on the battlefield and had to keep himself in check. He cannot... no, he would not allow himself to admit that he felt something for you. He had learned throughout his long life that love was nothing but heartache and pain, and he refused to lose another who was dear to him.
 ----
She's the Earth and heaven to you,
Try to keep it hidden
Honey, we can see right through you
Boy, ya can't conceal it
We know how ya feel and
Who you're thinking of!
He watched as you sat and laughed with his son, his nails digging into the arm of his seat at the head of the table.
After Thranduil’s first encounter with you, he could not help but make it so you were always near him. He found out your name from Legolas, who apparently was your friend and confidant, which is the most likely reason he knew he had seen you before. After this, he assigned you as one of the main commanders of Mirkwood’s forces due to your battle prowess, however, this had allowed you to not only join his council, but also the privilege of being the only elleth on it.
However, this had also led to Legolas being able to spend more time with you. Thranduil refused to admit that he was jealous. He was the ruler of the kingdom, one such as he did not feel such things. But the more he saw you laugh with his son, the more he had to bite down on his tongue to keep from lashing out in an unsavory manner in front of you.
However, he could not stop his glare towards his son as he watched you fling your head back in laughter, your arm on Legolas’s shoulder as you tried to catch your breath. Legolas turned to look him in the eyes, clearly uncertain as to the nature of the glare he was receiving, although his face did light up as he seemed to put the pieces together.
Thranduil gritted his teeth together, his fingernails leaving crescent indents on his palms as he balled his fists, he was feeling as though he would be ground into dust as he watched Legolas lean over and whisper in your ear as you blushed and nodded. He felt as if he was a mortar, with the pestle grinding his very being into dust. Yet, he was still stone, still unwavering and would not yet yield. He refused to speak with you on the matter of his affections, it was unbecoming of a ruler. He would not stand here and declare his feelings for you, and he most likely never would.
He pushed his emotions down and loosened his fists as his knuckles had turn white, he willed his face to once again be completely impassive, even as he felt as if wanted to crush something with his hands as you and Legolas left together.
 ----
Legolas leaned towards you, his hand on your shoulder and a knowing smile on his lips. He turned and met his fathers fiery gaze once more before he spoke.
“Hey, Y/N, remember that crush you have on my ada (father)?” he asked you. Your eyes went wide, and you sputtered before trying to cover the growing blush on your face with your hands.
“Leg! Do you really need to bring that up here?” you whispered back at him through your hands.
“Of course! Any chance to embarrass you Mellon nîn (my friend)!” he laughed for a second, before his face turned deathly serious. “But back to the point, I think I have a plan of sorts, and I very much believe you’d wish you hear it”
 ----
No chance, no way
I won't say it, no, no
You swoon, you sigh
Why deny it, uh-oh
It's too cliche
I won't say I'm in love
The next evening, the pieces of Legolas’s plan had slid together almost seamlessly.
He sat with you at the front of the corridor, so that any who passed could plainly see what was happening between the two of you. This worked in his favor, especially since his ada usually passed the hall around this time in order to reach the royal suites. Plus, any servants who passed were certain to inform him about the goings on they had witnessed, which would most likely prompt him to rush to you both.
Legolas’s arm was slung over your shoulder and your legs were pulled into his lap, He gently rubbed small circles into your thigh with his fingernails.
Soon, he heard the familiar footsteps of his ada, and began to set the plan into motion.
His hand left your knee and he placed his finger under your chin, using it to keep your face level with his. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the dark gray of his ada’s robe as he began to turn into the corridor. Legolas winked at you and pulled you closer, his lips dancing over the shell of your ear. He couldn’t help but whisper softly to you, “I wish I could see the look on his face right now Y/N”, causing you to involuntarily shudder.
After turning the corner, Thranduil was practically seeing red, he could hear the blood rushing in his ears. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His son, his only child, amorously flirting in his hallways, his kingdom. However., when he saw it was you in Legolas’s arms, he forgot how to breathe, and he couldn’t seem to think clearly. His brain had turned to acid in his skull. His face hardened as he stormed over to you both, grabbing you by the wrist harshly and yanking you away from Legolas and down the hall. After a few twists and turns, he had reached the end of a deserted hallway and pushed you up against the wall.
Before you could even gasp at the contact your body had made with the wall behind you, Thranduil’s lips were on yours. You stood still, his hand still grasping your wrist tight. He pulled away from you, and the look on his face seemed dejected, it was unbecoming of his beautiful features to be contorted into such a look of melancholia.
He released the pressure on your wrist and dropped it before turning away and trying to make off down the corridor.
You couldn’t stop yourself by grabbing him by the back of his robe and pushing him against the wall, just as he had done to you. “Where do you think you’re going...” you surged forward, as your lips brushed over his, “Thranduil..”
His eyes widened before you crashed your lips into his, full of fiery passion and spirit, the kind he had seen from you so often. His lips were warm, and he tasted of mint, this moment reminding you of days spent in the forest, nights spent under the stars. He sucked at your bottom lip as your hand wove its way into his hair. You couldn’t help yourself as you grazed your teeth over his lower lip, your hands roaming up to run through his hair and caress his face and neck, everything soft as silk. He let out a low groan before he grabbed you once again and switched positions, your back once again on the wall. He pulled away, resting his forehead against yours and breathing heavily.
“Fuck...” he muttered under his breath, before burying his head in your shoulder.
“Thranduil... Gi melin (I love you)” you whispered from swollen lips “Meleth nîn…(my love)” one of your hands rubbed circles into his low back, the other tucked strands of hair behind his ear.
“Do not forget Y/N,” he started, the shakiness in his voice surprising you “I would pluck every star from the sky and lay them at your feet. I offer you my sword, I offer you my life.” He raised his head from your shoulder before placing a kiss on your forehead.
“You are my ithildim (star-light)” he whispered as his thumb ran across your cheek. He offered you a small smile, the first genuine one you had ever seen from him, before he pulled his hand away and walked off down the corridor.
Your fingers ran over your lips, which still tingled, and when you licked at them you could still taste the mint on them. Your skin felt seared where his hands had run across it. As you watched him leave, you could not help but to let out a small laugh. His pride had forbidden him from directly saying he loved you the way you did him, but his actions, his words, they all proved to you the truth. Although he could not say his feelings, he had shown you them plainly enough.
You smacked your hands against your cheeks and shook your head before you made after him, you refused to let your little rendezvous be over so soon, especially after you and Legolas had went through all that effort to make it happen.

Your name: submit What is this?
Tommy paces up and down the room, clicking his tongue as he pulls his pocket watch out of his coat to glance down at the time. From his chair, Michael can’t help but suppress a chuckle at Tommy’s clear impatience, and he takes a drag from his cigarette as Tommy shakes his head, looking around at the rest of his family and other Peaky Blinders who are all gathered in the room, per your request. They had all gotten the same vague message from you, bursting into their rooms and houses early in the morning as you called an urgent meeting, refusing to give them more details past that. Turning to Polly, Tommy exasperatedly asks, “Where the bloody hell is she?”
“And how am I supposed to know?” Polly scoffs, leaning her back up against the wall as she looks over at the front door, hoping you’ll come through any second now.
“If she doesn’t come in the next five minutes, all of you are getting back to work.” Tommy shakes his head, pinching the bridge of his nose. “She better be bloody dying to be calling a meeting of this size.”
Ada rolls her eyes as she shoots Tommy a look, which he ignores. Before Tommy can complain again, the doors burst open, and everyone looks up to see you quickly ushering Finn and Isaiah inside. John lets out a loud scoff as he reaches over to grab Finn, slinging his arm around him and roughly ruffling up his hair, and John grins as you pass by him, announcing, “Finally gracing us with your presence then, y/n? D’you reckon you could’ve made us wait any longer?”
“Fuck off, John,” you laugh, waving your hand at him as you walk past Michael. He smiles up at you as you pass him, reaching out to give his arm a light squeeze before you situate yourself in the front of the room. Pointing at Finn and Isaiah, you continue, “You have them to blame. I had to run through the whole of Birmingham to find ’em!”
Before Finn and Isaiah can jump to defend themselves, Tommy raises his hand, shushing them as he raises an annoyed brow at you, “Well, go on then. You’ve already wasted enough of my day.”
“Patience, now, Tommy,” you tease, and Tommy blinks at you, in complete disbelief at your utter disregard for his impatience. With anyone else, Tommy would’ve threatened to cut them for such disrespect, but for you, the daughter of one of his close friends from the war, he’ll let it slide.
Beside him, an amused smile sneaks its way onto Michael’s face as your gaze meets his. He can’t help but feel his heart skip a beat as you beam at him, clearly euphoric at whatever news you’re about to deliver. Your face is practically glowing with joy as you clap your gloved hands together, continuing, “I have exciting news to share with you all. I wanted to share it with you all last night when it happened, but I figured John would probably cut me if I tried to disturb him while he’s sleeping.”
Arthur laughs as John nods in agreement. Giddily, you continue, “As many as you know, Henry has been in town to visit me for a bit.”
Michael’s jaw clenches upon hearing your boyfriend’s name, and he grits his teeth as he tries his best to forget about him as he watches as you pull off one of your gloves. Michael doesn’t notice it at first, but once he does, his cigarette falls out of his fingertips. All the sounds around him seem to distort, the entire world falling out of focus, and he can barely make out your voice as you continue talking, excitedly showing your hand off to the room.
Your hand, where a glittering, diamond ring sits prettily on your ring finger.
“And he proposed to me!” you squeal, and the entire room erupts into celebration, Ada leaping up from her chair to engulf you in a hug. John lets out a loud whoop, jostling Finn and Isaiah beside him as they laugh, pumping their fists in the air. The boys laugh as Arthur applauds, leading the rest of the Peaky Blinders to excitedly clap for you. Polly rushes to your side, her and Ada eagerly examining your ring, and even Tommy, despite his earlier agitation, can’t help but smile. Shaking his head, Tommy makes his way to you, clapping a hand down on your shoulder.
“Congratulations, y/n.” Tommy gives your shoulder a squeeze, and you beam at him. Lowering his voice, he asks, “And he’s a good man, eh? Treats you well?”
You bob your head up and down, barely able to contain your happiness. “He’s a good man, Tommy.”
Tommy nods in approval, and you leap forward to give him a hug, and he good-naturedly rolls his eyes as he hugs you back. Letting go of him, you look past him to find Michael, and your smile falters as your eyes fall onto his empty seat. Looking around, you try to catch a glimpse of him, but the only thing you see is a blur of his coat as he walks out the room, slamming the door shut behind him.
Michael remembers the first time he met you, shyly smiling at him from your desk when Tommy stopped by to introduce the two of you. He had just moved to Small Heath, was getting used to his new family and new home, and when you smiled at him, he knew he was right where he was supposed to be. He was so entranced, so captivated, he hadn’t even heard Tommy calling his name until the third time, impatiently gesturing for him to keep up as he showed him around the offices. Michael was blushing furiously as you hid a giggle behind your hand.
Michael tried to be subtle when asking Tommy about you, but his cousin saw right through him. Tommy leaned back in his chair, studying Michael’s face as the two sat across from each other, listening as Michael pretended to just be interested in you for professional purposes, pretending he was eager to meet everyone when your smile was the only thing running through his mind.
“So you fancy y/n, then?” Tommy interrupted, shooting Michael a look, and Michael didn’t need to look in a mirror to know his entire face was ruby red. He couldn’t even bring himself to deny it, and Tommy scoffed out a puff of smoke before taking another drag of his cigarette, “Oh, young love.”
“Is she a family friend, then?” Michael asked, leaning forward in his seat, and Tommy chuckled. Perhaps he was in a decent mood, or else he would never entertain this.
“I knew her father from the war.” Tommy explained. “A brave man, a loyal friend. His wife died during childbirth and y/n was all he had. I made a promise to him. I promised I’d make it back home so I could take care of his little girl whilst he was dying in my arms.”
Michael fell silent, nervously picking at the edge of his coat as a glaze fogs over Tommy’s eyes upon thinking of the war. Shaking his head, Tommy crushed his cigarette out onto the ashtray in front of him, before leaning his elbows up on the desk, his eyes piercing into Michael’s.
“So no, she’s not just a family friend. She’s one of us.” Tommy continued, pointing a finger at Michael. “Now, it’s none of my business who you fool around with, but y/n is different. You may be family, Michael, but if you fuck up and break her heart, know that I’ll come for you.”
A good man, Michael bitterly thinks as he paces through his office. Running a hand through his hair, he can hear your voice echoing in his head, the last words he heard before he couldn’t take it any longer, before he had to leave before his heart broke completely. It had been days since your announcement, and Michael had been avoiding you since, shutting himself in his office, ducking his head and turning away when he passed by your desk. He couldn’t bring himself to look at you, no matter how desperately you tried to talk to him. Sighing, Michael wonders, Is that all he is? Is that what you really want for the rest of your life?
Michael didn’t think it was possible to feel his heart splitting in his chest, but he didn’t know how else to explain the pain he felt when you excitedly announced your engagement to the Peaky Blinders. They were all happy for you, erupted into ecstatic cheers, whilst Michael could barely even muster a fake smile. How could he pretend to be happy for you, when this was the worst news he could ever possibly hear?
They all knew of your fiancé. Henry, a nice, quiet man who you had been dating for a while, but Michael never thought it was serious. You kept him removed from the Peaky Blinders, doing a much better job than any of them at keeping your personal and professional life separate. From what Michael could remember, he was a banker, or some other mundane job. He never bothered  to learn anything about him. All Michael knows is that Henry had moved to London a few weeks prior to your engagement for better work opportunities, and Michael figured the distance would be the demise of your relationship. He figured he’d wait until your breakup to swoop in, confess his long withheld feelings for you, get the happily ever after he had expected to happen.
He waits in his office now, taking a final drag of his cigarette before he ashes it out. The entire place is empty, everyone having gone home for the night, and he looks up as he hears you open the door and step inside. He had finally worked up the courage to talk to you, stopping by your house with no explanation as he asked you to meet him in his office. You offer him a relieved smile as you close the door behind you, happy to finally see him, and you set your coat down on a nearby chair.
“I hope you’ve been preparing a grand explanation as to why you’ve been avoiding me.” you tease, taking a step towards him. “I can’t stay long, but I also have something I need to talk to you abou—”
Michael interrupts you as he wraps an arm around your waist, pulling you towards him as he presses a kiss to your lips, something he’s so desperately wanted to do since the day he met you. You freeze in shock, melting at his touch, kissing him back as you let him spin you around, backing you up against his desk before you realise what’s happening. Disconnecting your lips from his, you try to shove Michael away from you, avoiding eye contact as you stammer, “Michael—!”
“I can’t hide my feelings any longer,” Michael confesses, refusing to move away from you as he traces a finger along your jaw, tilting your face to meet his. He reaches for your hand, and you suck in a sharp breath at how gentle he is, how softly he wraps his fingers around yours. He holds up your hand, the ring glittering between the two of you, and he glances down at it before looking up at you, “You can’t marry him, y/n.”
“What? What are you talking about?” you splutter. You already know what he’s about to say, but you still ask, “Why not?”
“Because I love you, y/n,” he says, and tears well in your eyes as you shake your head, your heart hammering in your chest as you try to take your hand away from his. It all makes sense now, you realise, his avoidance towards you, him rushing out the room when you had announced your engagement. You’ve already crossed the line by kissing him, already stayed much longer than you should, yet you can’t find the strength in you to walk away from him. Michael grasps your hands in his, desperately trying to get you to look at him as he continues, “I’ve loved you since the day we met, and I can’t hide it any longer. Not when you’re about to get married to another man.”
“He has a name, Michael,” you try to assert yourself, attempting to keep your voice steady, and Michael scoffs. “Henry and I are happy together. I love him.”
“Do you?” Michael challenges you, and your lip trembles as you shoot him a look.
“Don’t.” you shakily whisper. You raise your finger, weakly jabbing it into his chest to punctuate your words as you continue, “I waited for you, Michael, but all you wanted was to play silly games with me. So don’t blame me for marrying the man who was actually brave enough to make a move.”
Michael blinks at you, mouth parted as he’s suddenly at loss for words. His voice falters as he narrows his eyes as you, and he croaks out, “You were waiting for me?”
“Of course I was!” you exclaim, exasperated, and the tears fall faster down your face now. “Bloody hell, Michael, how blind can you be? Henry had been asking me out for weeks before I agreed to go on my first date with him. And do you know why I kept turning him down? Because I was waiting for you. I was waiting for you to ask me out, to kiss me, to do something! And when you never did, I figured I had made a mistake. That all the flirting meant nothing, that it was nothing more than a game.”
Michael backs away from you, struggling to keep himself upright at this revelation. He leans up on the chair behind him, angrily gripping it as he berates himself for being so stupid. If he had known all this, he would’ve confessed his love so much earlier.
“Have you got nothing to say to me?” you demand, and Michael looks up. “Is this it, then?”
“No, no—” Michael reaches out to grab your arm as you try to snatch up your coat to leave, and you struggle against him as he holds you, his eyes desperately searching yours as you try to look away from him. He reaches one hand up to your face, wiping away your tears with his thumb as he continues, “I’m not playing games anymore now, y/n. I’m telling you what I should’ve told you from day one. I love you. Don’t marry Henry, marry me instead.”
You gulp, staring at Michael as he stares back at you, looking for any hint of a reaction in your expression. Even his own words shock him, for it’s one thing to confess his love, another for him to outright propose, but Michael doesn’t regret it. Something inside of him knows you’re meant to be together, and the feeling is so strong he’s sure that you feel it, too. He can feel you soften slightly in his hands, your shoulders relaxing, and it takes everything within you not to melt completely into his touch, to kiss him and agree to marry him. You close your eyes, turning your face into his hand, and Michael feels an ounce of hope before you shake your head.
You open your eyes, and it’s not only Michael’s heart that breaks, but yours, too, as you whisper, “You’re too late, Michael.”
Tears sting Michael’s eyes, and his hands fall limply at his sides as you step away from him, meekly pushing past him as you grab your coat. He hears you stop behind him, hesitating, before you defeatedly begin to walk away. Shaking his head, Michael turns around, squaring his shoulders as he watches you head for the door.
“Tell me this, at least,” Michael calls out to you, and you stop, hand lingering over the doorknob. You can feel his eyes burning into the back of your head, and he says, “Look me in the eye and tell me that you love him. Because I don’t think you truly do.”
You suck in a sharp breath, turning your head slightly over your shoulder. “I love him, Michael.”
Before Michael can respond, you yank the door open, storming out as you leave him alone in his office. You hold back a sob as you force yourself to keep walking away, away from him, and your entire body feels weak as you threaten to collapse.
You couldn’t look him in the eye. You couldn’t even muster that.
Michael shuffles into the office, his feet dragging against the wood floors. He catches a glimpse of his form in the reflection of his office window, but he doesn’t bother looking up. He’d avoided mirrors for the past few days, not wanting to look at his disheveled self. He hasn’t been able to sleep since seeing you, tossing and turning under his sheets, unable to get you out of his mind. He hasn’t even bothered with a tie today, his top few buttons left undone as he trudges towards his office. He passes by your desk, angled just outside his door. He always kept his door open so the two of you could pull faces at each other during the day, making each other laugh and smile no matter how many times Tommy chastised the both of you each time he caught you, threatening to move your desk so the both of you could focus. Seeing you smile was sometimes the only highlight of Michael’s day. He smiles slightly at the memory, before he frowns as he traces a finger over the polished wood. Your papers are neatly stacked, books piled in the corner, all collecting dust. You haven’t been at work for the past week, enjoying time with Henry before he takes a train back to London.
Michael looks up as he hears someone approaching him. Polly sighs upon seeing him, and she stops to button up Michael’s shirt, trying to smooth her hands over the wrinkles in the fabric as she gently reprimands, “Do try to put in a little effort. You look a right mess.”
He ignores her remark, waving her off. “Where’s y/n? Isn’t she supposed to be back at work today?”
Polly narrows her eyes at him.  “Didn’t she tell you? She’s going back to London with Henry.”
“What?” Michael splutters, his heart dropping into the pit of his stomach. “Why?”
“Well, she’ll be staying with him until the wedding.” Polly slowly explains. “They’ll be looking for flats together.”
“Flats?” Michael repeats, his worst fears gripping him by the neck as it suddenly becomes hard to breathe. He doesn’t even notice Tommy emerge from his office, leaning against the doorway as he watches Michael slowly descend into panic. Polly glances at him over his shoulder, before turning her attention back to Michael.
“Well, you don’t expect her to stay in Birmingham after she gets married, do you?” Polly asks, but Michael can barely hear her anymore. It must’ve been what you wanted to tell him, he realises, the night he kissed you. But he was too desperate to tell you he loved you to listen. Turning around, he marches for the door, and Polly calls out after him, “Where are you going?”
Michael doesn’t respond, breaking into a sprint, and Polly lets out a defeated sigh as she turns to Tommy. He raises an eyebrow at her, both of them knowing full well where Michael is headed, and Tommy sighs, turning to disappear back into his office, but not better muttering under his breath, “Young love. How foolish.”
Polly places her hands on her hips. “You were young once too, Tommy.”
Tommy shakes his head. Pointing to the doorway, Tommy continues, “They’re going to break each other’s hearts. You know that, don’t you?”
Polly lets out a heavy sigh. “Well, there’s not much we can do about that, is there?”
Michael’s lungs burn for air as he sprints towards the station, pushing past the strangers that fill the area. It gets increasingly crowded as he gets closer to the station, and Michael can still see the smoke of the train from a distance, meaning he still has a chance, a chance to stop you from leaving. He doesn’t have much else planned out, but all that he knows is that he can’t let you go. Not when you couldn’t even look Michael in the eye and tell him that you truly loved Henry.
A whistle pierces through the air, above the chatter from the crowds. Michael’s heart almost stops as he knows he doesn’t have much time left. Waving his arms above his head, he bellows, “Stop the train, stop the train!”
He shoves his way into the station, dodging through the crowd as he hears the rumbling of the engine. Weaker now, Michael yells, “Please, stop the train!”
He makes his way onto the edge of the platform, collapsing to his knees just as he sees the train leaving the station. It accelerates ahead, leaving him behind and taking you away from him.
You chose him, Michael realises, now alone on the platform as a sob rises in his throat. His confession didn’t matter, because you chose Henry. And now he’s lost you, and he’s too damn late to get you back.

0.5 TYPES OF REQUESTS I WRITE:
One-shots (1k words or more)
Drabbles  (below 1k words)
Headcanons (bullet point fics)
Blurbs (below 500 words)
Imagines (gif + a little blurb, around 500 words)
1.0 RULES:
Request via ask.
Always include what type of request you want me to write.
Specify because specification is very important as it helps me make your request as pleasing as possible, but try not to be too specific as I like the element of surprise.
If you want me to write something from my prompt list (click here): include the name of said character, category of the prompt and the prompt’s respective number (e.g. Jay Halstead, fluff 7).
1.1 Note: If you don't include what type of request it is that you want me to cook up, I will choose the type myself so don't come at me if you wanted a 2K worded piece of work and instead got an imagine with 200 words!
1.2 Note: Mixing the prompt with a plot line of your own is allowed, just make sure to follow the rules (1-3).
1.5 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
Unless asked for, I will be writing with the Female!reader in mind (I like to exclude any gender relation and make it so that both genders could read and enjoy).
I respond to asks when the request has been qued to post and released on Ao3.
The maximum number of request you can send is 2. I know there is an option to send them in anonymously, but I really hope you will stick to this rule. Give others a chance to submit their wishes, and don’t make the line too big with by mass requesting (I close requests after I get around 30 requests).
Requests sent during seasons I have not watched or for characters that have yet to make an appearance in the show will not be written (exceptions exist).
I write one-shots but not a whole series unless I can see/want a continuation.
Themed requests (Christmas, Valentine's Day, New Year etc.) can be only sent during that time. I don’t accept Christmas requests during the month of May. The same goes for the rest.
I have every right to delete every request that does not fit within the rules stated above, or I feel uncomfortable writing. Also, it’s important to note that I don’t have inspiration to write every request that’s sent. It’s normal to not have inspiration, and because I prefer quality to quantity, if I see that I don’t have inspiration for a request then I will not write it.
Requests will be deleted if sent while my request box is closed. I won’t answer them as I feel like there is no need. On almost every informative post (+my bio, and if you’re on PC my theme under ‘blog status’) it will say whether the request box is closed or not.
English is not my first language but without digging myself my own grave this early on I want to say that I'm proud of how much I know, given that I never speak English unless in school.
Be nice because only constructive criticism is allowed. If you spot a grammatical error or a paragraph/sentence/word etc. that doesn't make sense, let me know. But be nice!
2.0 THINGS I DON’T WRITE:
LGBTQ+  topics/relationships (because I feel like I wouldn’t do a good job)
Real people, send only requests for characters in my writing list
Ships or OC, send only reader inserts
NSFW (mature content stories)
Noncon
Dark!fics
Romanticized mental illnesses
S*icide scenes
R*pe scenes
Racism/slurs
2.1 Note: P*dophilia, r*pe, s*icide might be mentioned in my Chicago P.D, Fire, Med shots (or other), but I will never explicitly write about those subjects or write about anything that is about/centered around them.
2.2 Note: Explicitly written smut is a no, I will not write that. Try to refrain from requesting steamy scenes too, as I will only put them in myself were I to deem it necessary for the WIP.
2.5 THINGS I DO WRITE:
Angst
Fluff/ WAFF
Fusion/ Crossover
Daughter/Wife/Sister!Reader
Here is me trying to explain what kind of requests I also take [x]
2.6 Note: It’s hard to list but to make it easier for you guys, I will write about almost anything as long as it’s not on my 2.0 bullet.
3.0 POSTING SCHEDULE:
Posts are usually posted between 01:00 A.M. and 05:00 A.M. CET (Central European Time).
Check schedule to see what's been qued to post.
3.1 Note: This account is NOT my work place. Everything here is written when I have time and I feel like writing. Requests that I find more interesting will most likely be written and qued to post sooner. I advise you to follow my blog, check regularly and sit tight until you see that it's qued. You can always check my navigation page and click on 'schedule'. Or simply click here.
3.2 Note: I am not a doctor nor a firefighter nor a policeman. I research whatever I can before I start writing and sometimes that takes hours. Nothing is 100% accurate (especially for events set in Chicago Med) although I hope it is.
3.5 WRITING LIST:
3.6 Note: Requests are currently OPEN for all fandoms!!!
3.7 Note: Your requests do not have to be strictly romantic (Sibling!Reader or other are also (obviously) allowed).
---More shows and characters will be added through time

Updates 3/15/20 (posted un-proofread because its 4am and I need to sleep)
So I have a number of requests (like three) that I need to write. The next one on the list is a (probably fairly long) one for an AU where Kaz and Jordie both survive the Reaper’s Barge but each thinks the other is dead until Jordie returns to Ketterdam several years after CK. While I was at work today, I realized that given current world events this might not be a good time for this fic, so I think I’m going to table it for a couple months.
Good news is that means you’ll probably be seeing Roeder’s Fic in the next couple weeks and then I’ll probably start the post-s5 Tommy and Frances fic I’ve been wanting to write for ages. I was also thinking about actually writing the Jace Squared Fic too, so we’ll see what happens.
I’m currently planning to write my Fandom Trumps Hate gift during Camp NaNoWriMo in April, so maybe you’ll hear a bit more about that as I start outlining it. I’m not sure how much I should say about it, so for right now I’ll just say that its a Six of Crows fic set in a slight CK AU. I also don’t think its possible to write it well in the 5-10K I offered in the auction. I’m thinking it’ll end up being 20K, hence why I’m going to use Camp NaNoWriMo to the write it.
Tentatively, I’ve set myself the goal of getting to a particular fightingverse fic by next October. Counting Roeder’s Fic, I have to write eight 5K+ fanfics in this verse between now and then, which should theoretically be possible given how quickly I wrote most of what I currently have. Hopefully I won’t do something ridiculous like try to write the equivalent of Roeder’s Fic for every one of the Crows because that would add more fics to this lineup. There are more BLANK’s Fic style pieces planned (Minna, Espen, Baas and Vasilyev are all going to get one and I’m planning to adapt another fic in the outline into one for Kaz), and I have locations planned for a hypothetical Inej’s Fic and a hypothetical Wylan’s Fic though both are chronologically before What Are Words. I haven’t thought about where to place a Nina’s Fic or a Jesper’s Fic at all. Writing a fic for Nina might be hard given anything I do will be contradicted by KoS2 (I’ve actually been trying to write this series in a such a way that it can survive KoS2, but I’m probably still going to fail on that front), so I might put her fic off as long as possible.
Tbh I’m a bit annoyed by how linearly I’ve been writing the fightingverse. You’ll recall that when I wrote the Kaz Gets Pneumonia Fic last summer I was vehemently against continuing the plot I set up in the Kaz and Nina Bonding Fic because I didn’t think I’d ever finish it. However, once I committed to writing it what interested me was the idea of writing it in disconnected sections which eventually fit together to form a coherent whole. That’s obviously not what’s happening, because apparently I’m not a good enough plotter to figure out how to write a short story series in that way. Hey, at least I’m trying to mix the style up a little.
Long tangent short, I really hope I can get back into the swing of working on the fightingverse, because I really love some of the fics I have planned for later on and I want to see them finished.
First order of business, though, is a short (at least for me) fic where Ada cuts Tommy’s hair, though. I’m counting it as a request, though it’s going to be a thing more as a result of a conversation on the Peaky discord server I started about who cuts Tommy’s hair than as the result of a formal request.
Immediate Goals (aka rest of March goals)
Ada cuts Tommy’s hair Fic
Finish Roeder’s Fic (this fic has gotten unexpectedly long on me, what I have is currently 6K)
Post-s5 Tommy and Frances Fic
Outline FTH Fic
Beta-reading for @ravencyclebigbang
Less-Immediate but Still Immediate Goals (aka April goals)
Write FTH Fic
Get back into the swing with fightingverse (in a perfect world I’d make progress on it like I was making progress last summer, but I’m not sure I’ve got that level of insane productivity in me right now)
Continued beta-reading for @ravencyclebigbang (continuing onward until posting in June)
Long-Term Goals (aka May and after goals)
The Jordie Lives AU
Get to fightingverse Kanej Fic by October 2020
@grishaversebigbang 2020
Pipe-Dream Goals (aka this is an awesome idea but probably won’t happen goals)
I’d really like to write some Call Down the Hawk fanfic. I have an idea for a fic about Gansey and Blue chaining themselves to a tree, as well as something about Hennessy and sleep deprivation.
The Jace Squared Fic. I’d really like to write this before The Wicked Powers comes out, which doesn’t seem like it’d be hard but I have a poor track record with writing fics before they’re rendered obsolete by canon (something I should probably be worrying about with the Tommy and Frances fic too, tbh).
Finally write a Warcross fanfic 😒(it’s going to happen someday...maybe)
I can’t decide if I want to write a platonic s5 Tommy and Jessie Eden fic or if I want someone else to write a platonic s5 Tommy and Jessie Eden fic so I can enjoy reading it.
I want to adapt a Declan hurt/comfort fic idea I came up with before cdth came out to be cdth compliant. I can’t decide if I want it to be pre-cdth and just be the Lynch brothers or post-cdth and therefore have Jordeclan.
Also one of the prompts submitted to @ravencyclebigbang asks for the story of Declan’s relationships with his three girlfriends named Ashley. As a person who used to ship Declan/Ashley (before Jordeclan and, you know, realizing “Ashley” is actually three different people), I feel like I am obligated to write this thing (even if it probably needs to be humor which I am no good at writing.)
Alright, fine, now that I have laid out my plans and goals so it can be clearly seen when I do not meet them, I will shut up. I wouldn’t expect this to be a regular thing given how poorly I’ve done at keeping up on Sneak Peak Sundays.

A Premonition of Love-Final Chapter
Hey Babies! I hope you are all getting on with real life in this fallow Harry season. I cannot wait for the harvest. (Please rescue us with new music Styles, Sharpish) Hopefully this Rom Com Ending will help feed any content needs that are plaguing you! Here she is-the final chapter of A Premonition Of Love!
Thank you @emulateharry and my other halves- thirds- @dirtystyles and @bleedinglove4h! Now-onto my Gryles Exchange!
Chapter 11-Erubisu
“Harry!" She'd been being sweet and softly blowing in his ear. Then she had tickled it, then Licked it. Nothing seems to be rousing him. He was a very heavy sleeper and could fall asleep anywhere if left unattended for any length of time, but this was ridiculous. She was beginning to think she had  killed him last night.
What a way to go. She had at least exhausted him. Her volume was bothering her own ears, and not a stir.
Ada had just been so jubilant when they made it back to the room last night. The last several weeks probably could have not gone better. After her freak out and their private painting party, they had hit their stride. Harry had been consistently amazing on camera, and at home, with the occasional grand slam to bout.
Clearly last night helped both of their batting averages.
The studio was thrilled with the dailies and so was Ada. It was cute and timely and classic and beautiful, her cinematographer captured Japan and her vision and Harry, all to their best advantage. They had submitted a request for just a little extra time for the Elvis scene. And she thought they made get it.
Even with all of the progress they had made, they'd still need another couple days in the schedule to get the love me tender scene, but Ada had been sneaky and was shooting the film like it was a sure thing.
After she had her encouraging call with her studio handler she'd basically flown to the vans that took everybody back to the hotel, and she nearly sat on Harry's shoulder to chirp out her lark's song. But then she remembered that they were trying to be subtle.
She sucked at subtle, it wasn't her style, but she liked privacy, and craved respect. She was working on that with her therapist, as it went to crazy lengths. Nevertheless, it meant they were clandestine lovers, which was lovely and exciting, if limiting.her boyfriend, as he had self identified, shocking the hell out of her the other day, was right there and she couldn't share her hope.
It would wait, she caught his eye and his eyes lightened in that way they did when they made eye contact and then further when he read her open face like a book.
Harry knew she was excited, he could tell. It was lovely all over her warm face, but they had lots of company. Ada wasn't ready to share with everybody that they may have a few extra days. Firstly, because she didn't know for sure and discretion, as she had told Harry the other day, was the better part of valor, and secondly, she wasn't going to ask everybody. They didn't need them, and she would never get the days with the full budget. Concessions. They had to be made.
So, he'd have to wait to find out if they gave her all the time. She looked hopeful enough.  Just not here.
But her caught her in the bathroom, there was only the one stall with the very high tech toilet, and as she came out, he gently gripped her waist and causally hoisted her back in. She loved when he handled her with ease, but she didn't like being handled. Or so she thought until he was Dali and she was Kahlo. She'd loved how he handled her emotional state and then handled her.
"What's up Harry?" She asked, with her hands on his forearms then gripping his elbows.
"You tell me. You are lit up like the Tokyo tower! Why didn't we film there by the way?"
"Permits, expense!" She shrugged. She'd tried, they'd shoot on the lawn if the could manage it. "Why do movies ever diverge from "the vision." She didn't grump More, but maybe harry didn't know that. She bet Nolan got his vision. With his track record and noms, and following and penis. Speaking of, she was ready to say fuck valor and his buddy discretion. What height was the sink.
"Nope, no distracting me!" He said when she tried to kiss him. "What's the news?" His leaf green eyes, the color of wasabi today, flicked back and forth over her ink eyes. He was written there. So was her excitement.
"I want to tell you when we have something to celebrate." She smiled and widened her large eyes.
"Does it have to do with the film? Might be nice to celebrate with the crew."
He was holding her hands, clutching them the way he did while she rode him. Bad thoughts, Harry. "You're distracting me now." His tongue touched the side of his mouth. "On purpose. And they can't all know, some won't be able to stay." Ada said like he already knew what she was talking about. "To stay...." he paused for her to fill him in. "To stay on the film for our Elvis scene." She squeezed his hand and bounced onto her tippy toes then heels. "I have to cut costs. But I think we might get the days!" "They said that?" His eyes were so big, like saucers and she wanted a big drink of their shared cup of joy. "Well, not yet. But they seemed enthused about the idea and one of them winked at me!" Ada sounded like that made her too sure. He bit his lip. "Who winked at you?
"Stu."
She put her head in his notch, right beneath his chin. Her notch. She slept there and smelled it when she woke up. "Let's not get our hopes too far up, ‘k, Smokes? Maybe low flying hopes?" "Ok!" she'd agreed but all of her was an exclamation mark.
Ada stayed entusiastic all night. She drank too much, a rarity for her, was chatty as all get out, and he had to drag her off the balcony naked. She was still buoyant this morning when she woke up, surprisingly not too fuzzy headed to smell his notch. Her headache, cowed by Harry's pills and water flush before bed, started to come back as she worked to wake him up. "Ighh!" Was the first "word" out of his mouth. "Smoke, I can tell it's very early by the light. The sun's not even up in the land of the rising sun! No human is meant to be awake right now, especially not one who was as excited," tongue between teeth. "As you last night."
He rolled over and she held him with her thighs. "That was bad, even for you, Velvet Elvis." "That was bad too." He rolled over and cracked an eye. "I veto that nickname. Seriously, how are you so bright and bonnie at such an early hour. You hit it harder than me." "Natural high!" She hopped off him taking his hand with her. "I've got a feeling, a good one." She kept on singing. He didn't join, was biting his lip in an unsexy way. "If you tell me you don't know that song, that it was before your time, I'll scream." "Course I know that song," he scoffed. "Yeah, your taste does run late middle age." He grr'ed, that face he made where he furrowed his brow cuz he was thinking hard, or hard thoughts. Then he shook it off. Damn she thought he'd chase her to the shower. "What's up, Harry?" "Nothing, just like to see you smiling." He then gave her a narrow eyed smirk and followed her to the bathroom, and grinned  before he had to grit his teeth to end their coupling. But something was up, when they had a minute on set. She caught him staring pensively at her. More that once. "Hey Elvis!" He winced a little, she noticed. "You look upset." She poked the place his dimple should be and cocked her head to the side. "M'fine!" He cupped her elbow after a quick check of the clear coast. "Just, I don't....." he shook his head. "Got water in my nose when I was on my knees this morning." He flashed her his eyebrows. She allowed the distraction then. He kept it up, the not telling her, for days. She didn't think whatever he was not sharing was a secret, nothing harmful or tangible. That the way she felt at least, but why wasn't he sharing his thoughts? He was a brilliant boy, she liked when he shared his dreamy cerebral locomotive from one place to another.
She was sitting in her makeshift office trying to puzzle him out when her phone rang.
LA! Her news!
They were ready, all caught up with open endings for her choose your own adventure, all they needed was a yes! Harry knew the minute she came down her steps with heavy footfalls that his worries were true. He’d shared the hopes with Jeff right away, when they'd had the idea. Jeff had brightened and he could see it. Then he got that look, the one Harry hated, when he was gonna tell him no, or bad news. "Hersch." Oh, breaking it to him gently then. “I can almost guarantee they aren’t gonna give her an extra week for that scene, for any scene. Likely not even three days. Try to help her not get her hopes up too high.”
And he had, he had wanted to at least. He'd changed the subject when he couldn't but also tried to talk to her. But she was so young and free since she got the idea in her head and nourished herself on the possibility. Harry forced himself to talk sense to joy, had reminded her they were in the industry, and it was a harsh business, and even said, “don’t get excited til they tell you ‘yes.’” They had definitely told her no. And she was definitely in the angry portion of her response. She was coming onto set like an angry tsunami. He saw the PA in front of her scramble. Should he intercept her? Would it even help?
Instead he watched her, she had a look of absolute childlike disappointment, like when his dad would cancel visitation for a business event. Harry knew that look. He wanted to rescue her, but she wasn't a damsel in distress. What could he do? And then he saw her roll her shoulders, up, back, and down. Her face blanked and she nicely called for Kiko. 'Matcha' he read on her lips, she conferred with her AD and then sat down and got to business. He had never been so proud. Or so sad. She'd had to swallow disappointment, maybe even in public, more times than he could imagine if she did it so well and so quickly. And then she filmed the open ended scene. The one she'd written to make Harry Presley as she had recently called him, available. It worked for both narratives. She hadn't given up.
Neither would he. She held it together all through the day, and everybody seemed to sense her need, and they rose to their leader. Ada was a fantastic leader in triumph, and in defeat, he surmised. She'd make a wonderful wife in those for better and for worse moments. For worse, he felt when she made it back to their hotel room. He'd ordered mac n cheese, hot chamomile, and tacos, those he'd had to get from a carrier. She'd bitched about them not being available lightheartedly recently. How maybe it was all she missed of LA, tacos. Ada hadn't said much when she'd come in, just looked at him and shrugged. "Hungry?" "No, but I want to eat every bit of mac n cheese in the world."
She'd already found that plate, was chewing and opening the wine he'd had brought over. She drank from the bottle and smiled at the flavor then at the label. It was as fleeting as a hummingbird's flap, but he loved that he had earned that lip lift with his choice. Was it better to get her to talk now? Or later after they had decompressed? Now would get it out of the way then she could ignore it until tomorrow. Or let it roll off her back, get two glasses and comfort food down her neck, then ask for the detail he needed. When the tacos arrived, she cried. They were a little weird, it was rice instead of corn in the tortilla, but she couldn't believe he had found them. Then she launched into a story about her and Alysia, her best college girlfriend, going from Porto's to Tito's when they broke up with each of their first loves. "I’ve never been to Tito's." "You've been to Porto's right? Or we will have to go there as soon as you visit me in LA." "You asking me on a date?" he asked with a smirk and kept rubbing her shoulders. "I'm asking you to move in if you are gonna casa surreal, feed, water, and rub me when I'm not ok." She took her last bite and fell back onto his lap. Ada looked sideways. He gave her his attention, but didn't' stare her down, he could tell she had something to say. "If I only get you out of this movie..." her eyes glossed. "Do you, do you know what I mean?"
Then her eyes turned red while she suppressed the waterworks. "Yeah, yeah, I know. It's enough, you, for me too." He kissed her forehead. That night, she lavished him with oral affection and passed out after her own favor. But Harry couldn't sleep. She'd told him they were liking the dailies but the climate wasn't right for all the nostalgia she was feeling and his fan base was too young to know Elvis, though she argued they were wrong, pointing to Japan, and other bands cross generational appeal, rockabilly and car culture. They were impressed with the accelerated schedule, but wouldn't grant them the days. She'd said it matter of factly. Her tears were dried up through her tidal will, but she was sad. She ate the tacos, then a bit more mac n cheese, and made him promise to wake her up early enough to work out together. He'd called Masa, set up an early sweat sesh-- start the day with no guilt and with tension released. As the hours waned, he'd played with some lyrics, simple and heart felt, guitar on his lap in the living area. Then he had an idea. He'd have to talk to Jeff. Harry knew Ada was special, the first time he met her-- scratch that! The first time he saw ‘Wildflower’ but watching her champion and carry her hope had inspired him that day.
And it kept on inspiring him. It inspired the whole crew. And they did it, they finished, not early enough to squeeze in the scene. But they finished both story trajectories, so that if the producers were touched, they could do it and it would be a narrative match.
She'd gathered all her bravery today and asked for the time again. She had good reason too. A streamlined crew, shooting schedule, willing crew and hopeful cast.
He knew by Ada’s brave face they’d said no. He had some loving to do for the next few hours before the wrap party. For her, and her broken heart. And for him and his dashed hopes. He wanted the scene too, badly. “You ok?” He didn’t touch her, the crew eyed him funny and he knew they knew, or at least suspected. But Ada would blow a gasket. He wanted to hug her, but that would explode their cover. “Yeah.” She smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes. “I just wish I wasn’t surprised every time, ya know? When somebody says no.” Somebody like Garner to her music, or the producers to her vision.
“I think that just means you remain hopeful,” he shrugged. He’d prefer that to the alternative, her artist streak of optimism mixed with her day to day realism was a sight to behold. He wanted her to remain surprise-able. He was gonna feed it, water it, grow it. He saw Jeff nod at him from where he stood off set and Harry hid his grin. Ok. Plant food for his wildflower. “Let’s finish this ending, yeah?” he squeezed her shoulder. “Then let’s go celebrate our work, cuz  it was stellar and swift, and then go home and cuddle until you feel better.” “I don’t WANT to CUDDLE.” She eyed him. “We can do that too, and Bob Ross all weekend. Let’s go have Akio meet Henry at the airport and they can get hitched by the pilot!” “The other ending is better, Akio should let Henry fly to Paris, and he should run back, like a reverse Rachel and Ross. Henry has making up to do. A public statement of love, a song.”
She knew she was pouting, and was letting her walls down enough so if any one was watching they’d see it. That was growth, or she was feeling loved and soft for her set family she couldn't help it. The vulnerability made him proud too. Harry knew for a fact they felt the same. Ada had maybe done a little too much celebrating by the time they got to the “wrap party.” Or commiserating, Harry wasn’t precisely sure which. She’d barely mentioned it, until she made a second drink sans mixer and sighed, “Oh well!” She was hanging on him a little, arm through his, and he was trying to pass it off as being gentlemanly and hoped no one noticed, until she said, loudly “What’s the stage for, Styles?”
He looked at her and smiled and shrugged. He watched her eyes haze over a bit.
“Are you....are you gonna sing for me?” None of her American reserve on show.
She was fully holding his hands now. And people, not hiding behind the cameras she hadn’t noticed, were smirking. “Yeah,” he chucked her chin. “Sorta, and that’s not all.” He made eye contact with Jeff and his manager nodded then gave a signal and everybody popped out of the woodwork ready to go. Ada looked around,  in bafflement, then disbelief, then rapture. “We’re gonna get our Elvis?” She had crocodile tears, by the size of them, though the emotion was real. “We,” he motioned to everyone “Are gonna get our Elvis. They all agreed to work for free for a couple hours,” an editor cleared their throat, “days.” he conceded. “Oh my god! You guys!” Major, happy tears slid down her cheeks and into her dimples. He couldn't help but hug her.
Revelations be damned! Everybody was gonna know in an hour or so anyway. Harry went to change and Jeff got Ada situated. Gave her a matcha and a wine, to ensure she had her choice. It was meant to be a party after all, a wrapping party as they finished the film with a figurative bow. Harry came out, in his Elvis finery, from the earlier scene, took a deep breath, and made sure his eye line for the camera was on Akio, for the shot he had spent a long week organizing, but he really only had eyes for Ada. “Love me tender, love me sweet
Never let me go.
You have made my life complete
And I love you so
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darling I love you”
He sounded good, he’d been practicing. Ada knew, she knew he was everything people thought he could be, more. It was why she had taken the movie. When the movie request had come across her desk, she’d immediately done her research, it was obvious, his charisma. So she’d slipped her way into Harry and Megan’s real reception, and she had listened. She and Megan were old friends. And then she knew.
She’d said yes. To the movie. Ada never felt surer of a decision than that moment. Harry had made her doubt it, until Nirvana.
But she felt even surer now.  She'd say yes to anything he ever asked her again, maybe. The boy was moved by love. The wedding the first time, and for her, here in this moment. The whole crew, he’d convinced them all, to give her her vision. She had to stop crying. Unlikely, until he stopped singing.
And I always will
Love me tender, love me long
Take me to your heart
For it's there that I belong
And will never part
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darling I love you
And I always will
Love me tender, love me dear
Tell me you are mine
I'll be yours through all the years
'Til the end of time
Love me tender, love me true
All my dreams fulfill
For my darling I love you
And I always will!
The song had the crew swaying, in the moment. And when Harry kept going, when he said his sorrys, Henry begged Akio. Akio who simply hugged him, forgave him, ran away with his Prince and there wasn’t a dry eye among them. Ada was floored and vindicated. The studio would be amazed. She had no doubt. “Cut!” Ada hiccuped. “Than--!” “Actually, Smokes, there’s a little more, if you don’t mind.” “What?” Ada sat back down in her astonishment, like his sentence was weights in her pocket. Harry couldn’t stop his explosive laugh. He choked up on the third word, but Ada was standing with her hands on her heart by the first bar. She cupped her face when he started singing.
He’d refused to sing it in the movie.
Or for Karoake.
Anywhere.
But, he was singing it for her, only to her, though others could hear it. “Wise men say....only fools rush in, But I can’t help, falling in love with you.”
She was on stage with him before the song was over, he barely uttered the last syllable before she held his chin and kissed him tender and true. The crew clapped when he cued the song to play again while they kissed, though they couldn’t hear him sing it into her ear between nuzzles. He sang “Love Me Tender” at the premiere, and the Golden Globes.
But he only sang “Can’t Help Falling in Love” into her fragrant neck ever again.

Hackle 21
(Drabbles are meant to be like 700+ words, right? :-p)
To be clear, Hecate really had needed Ada’s signature onthat expense report. She’d had every intention of honoring their agreement, shereally had.
Three months prior, she and Ada had attended a witchingconference in Belfast; after a few too many glasses of honey wine the pair had confessedtheir feelings for one another and gone back to Hecate’s room at the inn, wherethey had fallen into the four-poster bed and made love with an almost desperatefervor. In the dim, groggy light of morning they had decided that it was aone-time occurrence. Any further dalliance between the two would be toocomplicated, and it wouldn’t be in the school’s best interest for theHeadmistress and her Deputy to be romantically involved. Yes, it was best thatthey just remain friends.
Hecate firmly believed this, and even though her mind hadreplayed the memories from that night every hour on the hour in the months thatfollowed, she really had intended on sticking to the agreement. To make things easieron themselves they had limited their interactions as much as possible, and hadall but entirely done away with their one-on-one meetings.
But one night as she was completing her rounds, Hecate hadremembered that her quarterly expense report had to be submitted to the boardof governors in the morning. It was unlike her to forget to complete her paperwork, but her mind had been preoccupied as of late and she had found herselfforgetting to complete even the most routine of tasks. So against her betterjudgement (they were two mature, responsible adults, what was the worst thatcould happen?), she had gone up to Ada’s office with the requisite paperwork inhand.
Ada was seated at her desk when she arrived, poring over herown expense reports. She glanced up at Hecate and smiled, pushing her glassesup higher on her nose. “Ah, Hecate. To what do I owe the pleasure?”
Just hearing Ada say the word “pleasure” made Hecate instantlyregret her decision to come to the office. Still, she forced herself to focuson the task at hand.
“These require your signature,” she said, trying to keep hertone somewhere just shy of curt. She placed the papers on Ada’s desk and foldedher arms across her chest.
Ada squinted at the top page. “You’re requesting funding foran additional dozen cast iron cauldrons?”
Hecate rolled her eyes. “A number of first years learned thehard way that stirring a common cold cure potion widdershins creates ahighly-corrosive acid.”
Ada chuckled. “Ah, the joys of academia. Aren’t you glad youwent into teaching?”
The right-hand corner of Hecate’s mouth ticked upwards. “Quite.”
“Now, where did you need me to sign?”
Without thinking, Hecate circled the desk. “Your initialshere, then sign and date here,” she said, tapping each line with awell-manicured fingernail. Too late, she realized that coming around to theother side of the desk was a very, very bad idea. Her hip was mere inches fromAda’s shoulder, and a barrage of images from that night rose unbidden to theforefront of her mind.
Ada’s breath hitched, and she went completely still.
For a moment both women stayed frozen, paralyzed by bothwant and fear.
It’s not in the school’sbest interest, Hecate desperately tried to remind herself. What if it doesn’t work out? What if shedecides she doesn’t want you anymore?
But it was all for naught. Ada turned her head, looking upat Hecate with those kind, impossibly blue eyes, and Hecate had no choice butto lean over and kiss her.
Ada responded immediately, bringing one hand up to cupHecate’s jaw. Hecate let out a soft moan, reaching out and tangling her fingersin Ada’s silvering hair. She felt the briefest touch of Ada’s tongue againsther lower lip, and any lingering doubts that Hecate might have had promptly vanished. She eased herself down onto Ada’s lap, and moaned again as she felt Ada wrapher arms around her waist.
Later that night, Hecate lay her head against Ada’s bareshoulder, taking the opportunity to plant a small kiss on her collarbone forgood measure.
“Ada?”
“Yes?” Ada’s response was slightly delayed, and her voicewas already thick with sleep.
“I don’t think I can just be friends with you.”
Ada chuckled and pressed a soft kiss to the top of her head.“I was rather hoping you might say that.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS REGARDNG LOBBY STAFFING
1. What if I am sick on my assigned day? A:  Follow the same call in procedure for your unit.   There will be an assigned back up person each day; however, you must make up the missed shift later in the rotation.
2. What if I have vacation planned for my assigned day? A:  Vacations are important especially during stressful times such as this.   I want to encourage you to take yours.  There are enough staff, that I am confident that if you reach out to your colleagues someone will switch dates with you.
3. How long will this lottery system last? A:  Unfortunately, we do not know how long this peacetime emergency will last and how long we will have to operate in this new environment.    The lottery will be in effect the duration of the peacetime emergency.
4. Are all sections included in the lottery? A:  Yes, all sections have been included.
5. How much of a notice will worker receive to let them know that they have been chosen to work in the lobby on these dates? A:  The first lottery is scheduled for this Friday, July 17th.
6. How many times will one person have to work in the lobby during a two-week period? A:  Each worker’s name will be selected once through the lottery.  A worker may choose to work another worker’s shift.
7. If you are chosen to work in Lobby, in one bi-weekly period, will you potentially be put back on the list for the next lottery? Or will your name be kept out of the next drawing? A:  A worker’s name will be select once per drawing.
8. Can worker be potentially working in the lobby every two weeks if worker name is drawn in the lottery again? A:  The lottery is not designed where a worker’s name will be drawn every two weeks, once a worker’s name is drawn the program automatically removes the name.
9. If worker has a vacation day scheduled for day of lobby hours, will the schedule be changed to reflect that day. A:  Please see question #2.
10. What safety protocols are in place? A:  Plexiglass has been installed at the main lobby windows as well as social distancing guidelines on the floor.
11. What is my role during lobby coverage, and will I receive training? A: Visitors have been routed to the lobby by Navigators for further assistance.   Typical actions may be benefit print-out, need to speak with worker and/or supervisor, etc.   Lobby staff are not expected to know all programs.   Service the client as much as possible and if needed, have the assigned worker/supervisor contact the client.
12. Will I receive a reduction in workload due to lobby coverage? A:  No
13. What if worker is behind in their work, will that worker still have to work in the lobby? A:  Yes, the worker will still be responsible for working their assigned shift in the lobby.
14. What if I have underlying health issues? A:  If an employee has questions about their physical or psychological condition and its impact on their ability to do their job, or has current accommodations in place, they are encouraged to speak with their supervisor, another supervisor or manager in our department, or Melva Holmes, the HR Generalist for our department.
An employee requesting a job or workplace accommodation must complete the Request for job or workplace modification form (Word) and submit it to their supervisor or Melva Holmes. Some requests can be resolved by the department reasonably soon. More complex situations may be referred by the department to the ADA Coordinator in central HR to provide consultation regarding an employee’s request.

Social Security disability lawyers or agents are often not familiar with a number of the civil rights legislation and other remedies that might be accessible to their customers, outside, or in lieu of, Social Security disability benefits, and that might bring about further or alternative sources of fiscal earnings for their clientele. Additionally, as Social Security disability claims have significantly improved as a result of the lagging economy, customer advocates may experience many individuals that won't fulfill the strict Social Security disability criteria, but might have the ability to meet the requirements for additional aid. This guide will explore a number of those laws and remedies.
Because of the sophistication of a Few of the treatments and The complicated interaction between these, which frequently require reconciliation and discussion, it is going to be beneficial to customer advocates to establish a connection with a couple of lawyers who practice in the regions of law mentioned below if they don't, so as to find out if other treatments might exist for their clientele. As many of the extra remedies have stringent timing deadlines, queries must be made as swiftly as possible to additional counsel concerning if a customer has added remedies and also the viability of chasing them. Really, failure of a Disability Lawyer or even a representative to think about these remedies might be the origin of an expert liability issue based on the results of a customer's case.
An applicant for Social Security disability benefits Often includes a background, for example his medical requirements or work history, that has attracted him into the place of applying for this kind of advantage, which necessitates that he's deemed unable to do substantial gainful work for no less than twelve (12) weeks or else he's a condition which will lead to death. That history frequently involves his job situation and the essence of this situation can function as the foundation for further remedies. Thus, a Comprehensive interview with a potential customer should ascertain:
• Whether that individual suffered an accident in the office; • Whether his employer terminated him as a consequence of suffering the harm following the employer was advised it was a work-related accident; • Whether the accident, not or work-related, still allowed him to work for his employer with a reasonable accommodation by the employer. The judges' interpretation of"reasonable accommodation" is discussed below; • Whether the employer refused to make the reasonable accommodation and instead laid off or terminated the employee; • Whether the employee, who formerly did not have any or few performance problems, suddenly received discipline or write-ups after the injury; • Whether the employer should have been aware that the employee was suffering from physical or mental problems, and instead of helping him manage those problems, terminated him, laid him off, or eliminated his position; • Whether the employee had available to him short and/or long-term disability benefits, some type of retirement disability or union benefits for which he could apply.
THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITY ACT AND ITS AMENDMENTS Significant legislation has been enacted to protect employees who have been injured in and out of the workplace and who are suffering from an illness. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (hereinafter"ADA") was intended to"offer a clear and comprehensive national mandate for the elimination of discrimination against people with disabilities" 42 U.S.C.A. §12101 et seq.. The Act applies to employers with 15 or more employees and prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals on the basis of a disability in regard to job application procedures, hiring, advancement, termination, compensation or job training. See 42 U.S.C. §12112(a).
In the years since the Act's passage into law, the U.S. Supreme Court has handed down specific opinions which have curtailed the reach of the ADA and have greatly limited the definition of a disability under the ADA. Large clusters of people, initially covered by the ADA, have been shut out from the intended far-reaching protections as a result of those court opinions. The result has put a heavy burden of proving a disability on the plaintiff, which was clearly against Congress' objective. See Sutton v. United Airlines, Inc., 527 U.S. 471 (1999) and its companion cases and at Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Kentucky, Inc. v. Williams, 534 U.S. 184 (2002). As a consequence of the Supreme Court cases, lower courts have found that people with a variety of substantially limiting impairments aren't individuals with disabilities.
In order to rectify This circumstance, Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (hereinafter"ADAAA"), that became effective on January 1, 2009. The ADAAA greatly broadens the pertinent definitions of the ADA and provides renewed hope to handicapped people that are prepared, willing and able to work with a reasonable accommodation. The Act's new language expanded the definition to incorporate a bigger collection of those who are"regarded as" having a disability. Furthermore, mitigating variables are no longer checked from the test of a person as disabled.
If a person has a customer who lost his job Because of a negative Job actions and that is insured by the recently enlarged ADAAA, but had no recourse except to initiate a Social Security disability claim, either because his illness worsened or since he couldn't track down another occupation with his disabilities, he'll be asked to submit a claim with a government agency in the local, state or national level so as to safeguard his rights and maintain his right to deliver later lawsuit, if needed. That government agency can hold a fact-finding seminar or a mediation, based upon the agency's clinic, and though the thing is in the bureau level it might be settled without resorting to litigation. Bear in mind that the ADA claim could move independently and parallel into the Social Security disability case.
Employers are required From the ADAAA to accommodate those workers known to have a handicap to permit for the satisfaction of essential job functions. Nonetheless, these companies won't have to make accommodations that may lead to an undue hardship. Beneath U.S.C. §12111(9), these reasonable accommodations include, but aren't limited to, (1) making existing facilities used by employees readily accessible to and usable by people with disabilities, (2) job restructuring, (3) alteration of equipment or apparatus, (4) appropriate adjustment or modifications of examinations, training materials or policies, and (5) the provision of qualified readers or interpreters.
Tumblr media
It's the Employee's duty to notify his employer that an accommodation is essential in order for this employee to satisfy his essential job functions. It's also very important to be aware that the new amendments make it clear that workers that are only"regarded as" having a disability aren't eligible for the above accommodations. When the qualified employee requests an accommodation, an interactive process with the company concerning the right accommodations will start. U.S.C. §12111(10) enumerates factors that could result in an undue hardship to the employer when adapting a worker and are consequently not mandated under law. This list includes: (1) the nature and cost of the accommodation, (2) the overall financial resources of the facility or facilities, (3) the general size of the company and (4) the kind of operation.
It's also important to note that just because an Worker's physician sends a note to the employer restricting the employee's capacity to operate, asking time off to the worker, asking decreased hours, or requesting the worker be assigned to light duty, the employer isn't necessarily regulated by the physician's request. Legions of workers are terminated as an employer did not believe the necessity to honor a physician's petition or captured upon the physician's petition to terminate a worker because, as stated by the physician, the worker cannot perform the job as necessary. A worker would be smart to seek legal assistance, if at all possible, in negotiating a handicap lodging from a company.
It Is Not Unusual for companies To start plotting to get a worker's termination shortly as soon as they are advised, formally or informally, of the worker's illness. Red herrings frequently used by companies to terminate or rather force a worker to step include giving a worker a collection of baseless poor performance tests, job restructuring making the affected worker's standing nonessential, abruptly changing absence policies, or even participating in poor treatment of a worker that promotes his resignation.
THE REHABILITATION ACT
The Rehabilitation Act Title V entitled"Nondiscrimination under Federal Grants and Programs" 29 U.S.C.A. § 720 et seq. protects people with disabilities from discrimination on the grounds of these disabilities in programs arranged by receiving money from the national authorities. The criteria for determining employment discrimination under the Rehabilitation Act are just like those employed in Title I of the Americans with Disabilities Act explained above.
THE PREGNANCY DISCRIMINATION ACT The two key laws which protect women during pregnancy would be the Pregnancy Discrimination Act and the Family Medical Leave Act ("FMLA"). An amendment to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act was created in 1978. The Act requires employers with 15 or more workers to take care of workers with pregnancy-related states in precisely the exact same manner required by legislation as people with other medical conditions. By way of instance, if an employee with a severe medical condition is allowed to take leave or perform a modified program under FMLA, the pregnant woman is going to be given the very same choices. The Act also prevents an employer from firing or refusing to hire a girl according to her pregnancy or capacity to take pregnancy leave. In that exact same light, a worker can't eliminate credit accrued for seniority or retirement benefits during their own depart. Last, an employer must keep the job open and preserve healthcare benefits like the girl was on disability or sick leave.
Pregnant girls also rely heavily on. FMLA. As previously mentioned, new and expecting moms can take up to 12 weeks away over a 12 month period to care for the arrival of the child. 1 key distinction between FMLA and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act is that FMLA only applies to employers of 50 workers or more. In Addition, the worker must have worked one complete year or 1250 Hours to request FMLA leave.

An Explanation – Bid Bonds
Bid Bonds will be asked for by the public since it will protect them and it will guarantee that the principal will fulfill their responsibilities. As the principal, you need to get a Surety Bid Bond to guarantee that your company will adhere to the laws and you need a contract bond to make sure that a public construction project will likely be accomplished. There are examples which will offer an idea on bid bond.
This is made for the consumers since they will be protected by the bond, but it may also provide benefits to you because they will trust you when you have this in place.
The Work Of A Surety Bid Bond
Bid Bonds are considered as a three-party agreement between the principal, the obliged and the surety company. The obliged is the project owner and the principal is the employer or company that will do the work. Construction businesses will almost always be required by law to acquire Bid Bonds when they’re employed for a public project. The government will require a construction company to secure a host of bonds before they work on a particular project. The bond will ensure that the subcontractors and the other workers will be paid even if the contractor will default. The contractor will cover the losses, but as soon as they reach their limit, the duty will fall to the surety company.
The Application For A Surety Bid Bond
Bid Bonds are offered by insurance organizations, but you can look for standalone surety businesses that will specialize in these products. It will not be simple to apply for a bond because the applicant will have to go thru a strict procedure that is very comparable to applying for a loan. The bond underwriters will still assess the financial history of the applicant, their credit profile and other important aspects to make sure that they qualify to be approved. It also means that there’s a chance that you will be denied for a bid bond, especially when the underwriters find something negative on the credit history.
How Much Are You Going To Spend For This?
There is no set rate when applying for a Surety Bid Bond because it can still depend on various reasons like the bond type, bond amount, where the bond will probably be issued, contractual risk, credit history of the applicant and more. There are literally thousands of bonds available today and the cost will depend on the type that you will get. It will not be a problem for the amount of the bond because you can get a $10,000 bond or a $25,000 bond. If you have a credit history that is above or near 700, you will qualify for the standard bonding market and you will pay about 1 to 4 percent of the Surety Bid Bond amount. If you get a $10,000 bond, it will only cost $100 to $400.
Is There A Chance that you could be Declined?
There’s a chance that your bid bond request can be denied by the insurance companies and it will depend on the background check that they do. As soon as they feel that giving you a bond will be a big risk, they won’t release a bid bond for you.
Credit history is also an issue because if you have a bad credit rating, it would be extremely tough for you to get a Surety Bid Bond as the businesses consider you as a risk. If you have a poor credit score, you could be approved for the bond, but you must pay an interest rate of 10 to 20 percent.
There is a possibility that your application will be denied so you should look into the requirements before applying.
If you are planning to obtain a bid bond, make sure that you know what it can offer. It’s not easy to apply for it, but if you understand more concerning this, it will likely be easier to get approved.
