And damn, they're still doing the fortnite dances? She says, still doing the fortnite dances. But seriously tho, the intro for todays video matches cOMPLETELY with my mood. Because fam, i am so dead and high on no sleep and social media crack all the time that i would probably do the same thing.

Also, i cant even read sheet music (since im not a musician lol im still expanding my collection of classical music on my phone. I currently have 23, any good recommendations?) but that thing? I am scared aND CONFUSED. But fUCK dude, i miss watching them play. I mean, there's vids of them playing on yt and i will always crawl back to their vid of the concerto battle and navarra but- I've already watched those a MILLION times. It's nice to have something new.

And oH MY GOD EDDY'S DROOL AHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHA IVE DIED. IVE PERISHED. Oh mAN, i cant wAIT TO SEE THE THE ACTUAL WRECK THAT TSVTWT IS GONNA BE TOMORROW MORNING. Oh, i can see the fanfics already...

Also, damn Eddy, you gotta a lotta backup careers in case being a violinist doesn't work out huh? Yeah, we see you. Oh shit, that just reminded me of this really good ballet dancer au ff. Dude, id link it here if i can find it again. And Eddy, Brett's already a conductor if ya hadn't noticed from the beat saber vid. Leave some jobs for him too, okay? I care about you, but I care about Brett too.

And i love how editor-san aCTUALLY PUT IN "Farewell" IN HAYDN'S SYMPHONY 45. I cant tell of thats the actual name of the piece but if it is? Brett, we see your nerd comin' out. And if it isn't? Yeah, I agree with you editor-san, Brett IS the superior dad.

And... i really didn't expect the circumstance that Eddy would bring up as an example. I really thought yknow, basic common shit like performing in front of an audience or having a really nice teacher but. Violists and bassists kidnapping your family and forcing you to sightread to save them? Uhhhhhhh... okay, if it works i guess? And surprisingly, it kinda did. At the beginning only tho. When it changed to 4/4, if the violists and bassists really were keeping his family hostage... lets just say that they wont be in good shape. At least it gave him motivation to kesp going.

And Eddy's strategy of starts BARS before the actual piece? Respect.

Also, when Brett started with that long note on the g string, i sincerely thought he was gonna play either the Brahms or Mendelssohn violin concerto. I was wrong. When i noticed that he was playing Wieniawski, I thought "huh, i should probably know this." Once again, i was wrong. Eddy's lowkey roast was right.

And gOD, they're so happy and the just jump around so much that im!!!! IM!!!!!! MY HEART!!!!! fUCK AND I WAS IN A PRETTY NUMB MOOD TOO SO THIS IS JUST- i have the soft vibes now. The soft hapi vibes.

Also, i love how they just gave up on hitting the triangle at the end. There was just- dodgy and wrong notes and nonexistent rhythm but they just kept on truckin man, kept on truckin.

CTNSC18 Day 3 Write-Up

Morning practice was solid. I held my breath so much when they finished all I could say was “THIS IS A LOT” because it just came together so much. They were so so on in practice.

The real thing. First of credit to Weapo for a solid skate so hard to come back after yesterday. The audience did a great job of cheering them on. Shout out to Shane and Carolone they looked good— can’t wait to see what they become. Now from the moment they started they draw you in, the story is so seemly solid by such amazing acting down to delicate details like the way Scott curls his fingers against her arm in the intro sequence absolute fire. When the program transitions to the middle section and everything gets soft as come what May begins it feels like such a natural transition and like the story progress but the love story takes over. Again everything so beautifully detailed and expression through their whole bodies painting the picture. The opera comes in at the PERFECT TIME. AND EVERYTHING JUST SEEMS to build and you’re on the edge of your seat without knowing it. The moment that gives me chills is the end lift when Scott stretches his hands up in the cresado of the music— AND IN THAT MOMENT YOU JUST CANT NOT STAND UP. And then she dies in his arms BUT HE’LL LOVE HER TILL HIS DYING DAY OKAY IM DEAD. The hug after was soooooo much longer in person than it seems on tv. He just syncs into it and wrapped his arms tighter and then I could clearly seem him cover his mouth to whisper something (lol but why did the interview ask of course he’s not going to answer that truthfully, he covered his mouth for a reason). I actually got the worst back pain because I was shaking so bad. Even like a few minutes after the performance I went to see my mom and I was still shaking. The hugs with the dream team in the kiss and cry were so cute. They were both so excited when Patrice told them it’s a perfect score. I love Marie and patch so much I’m so so so happy they’ve got them—the fact they both came for this is so special.

Ladies. Alaine. Oh Alaine. I really don’t know... to send her or not. I mean the concern with sending Larkyn is she doesn’t have much international experience. Tough call. I love Kaetlyn’s FD I wish she could have had a clean skate I know she’s capable of so much greatness, it all just needs to come together for her. GABI My goodness, so much power in her jumps and what an amazing skate—well deserving of her score.

PAIRS. And my stress level elevated again. I’ve made it quite clear that I want to see Kirsten and Mike on the Olympic team. I was nervous for today it was really ANYONES GAME for those three teams (MM, IM, SB). After IM, had some technical issues I was really hoping that they would capitalize on the open door. I didn’t want it to be like oh well one team fell less than the other I wanted them to have a clean skate and show what they’re capable of. AND BOY DID THEY EVER. Their LP was beautiful, so much artistic expression and for the most part it was pretty clean. My heart was so warm watching Kirsten’s reaction, haven’t seen her that happen in a long time. Prayers for tomorrow when they announce the team. SB was great as well, they really laid it down. No one was going to hand any of these three teams an Olympic spot for showing up it had to come down to consistency. DR were good but I’d have to say I’ve seen them be better.

Men’s; Keegan was good but i think personally I prefer Nam over him. I’m not sure what the ‘right’ decision is in this case. Chiddy, I’m so glad the jumps were better today. He’s still got it, I just want him to have the confidence that he can do it. Someone get him Simone Biles mental prep coach STAT. Chiddy we need you at your best for the team event. I got a ton of vids that will get uploaded Monday evening or Tuesday.

sherlock ep 1 a study in pink livewatch

for the first livewatch of 2021 (and the first liverewatch), we’re taking a look at something i saw exactly 4 years ago! now that i’ve written my own sherlock holmes inspired story, the show will be a lot more interesting than it was in 2017 (hopefully). let’s dive right in! :D

DID YOU WATCH THE EUPHORIA VID YET??????? Oh my fucking god I am not ready yet??!! D; LY feels like just yesterday omg.... Kookie singing sounds so damn good!! I'M DYING!! "You are the cause of my euphoria"....HOW CAN HE BE SUCH AN ANGEL AHHH...!!! And I was really waiting for them to pick up the INU mvs storyline and they finally did YESSSSSSS!! PLS SCREAM WITH ME I HAVE SO MANY FEELS!! they turned all the sad around and seokjin looks so etheral I am sobbing rn

OMG I SAW THE NOTIF THIS MORNING AND WATCHED IF IMMEDIATELY AFTER MY CHEM LAB TODAY!!!! Duuuuuuuuuuude it was amazing, everything I’ve ever wanted. Jungkookie finally did an album intro and LITERALLY VOICE OF AN ANGEL WOW. His voice is so smooth and beautiful and just flows so nicely with the perfect amount of emotion. I could actually listen to his voice all day and not get tired because his singing is just that amazing. That intro “Euhopria~” had me dying already like ohhhhhh myyyyyy goshhhhhh. That is beauty in sound form.

AND DUDE THE STORYLINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lemme just say this first….THE HAPPY YOONKOOK MOMENTS LIKE MY HEART IS SO HAPPY FOR THEM AND THAT WAS THE ENDING I WANTED OR AT LEAST THE ALTERNATIVE ENDING I’VE ALWAYS DREAMED OF. BUT, this is all thanks to Jin who so desperately wanted to go back and change everything so their fates would all be changed. The cinematography and the parallels were absolutely beautiful. I didn’t dare make a sound while watching because it was so captivating. BigHit always does so well with these kinds of things and the boys’ acting was spot on. Everything came together so perfectly and I honestly can’t wait for the comeback. Wow….I’m just a very happy ARMY right now hehehe.

You Only Line Once #1 | Line Editing

Sooo, here I am, back at it again with yet another series. I had a lot of fun documenting my line editing journey in my line edit with me vid I posted a while back (which you can watch HERE), so I decided to make this a series on here. I actually intended to start this series back in August, and wrote the intro, but never posted it because I couldn't find a pun for the series title, lol. (I do it for the puns. Pretty happy with this strokes shoutout from You Only Live Once aha.) Two days ago, I wrote up a list of puns based off song titles, and @sssoto and @sarahkelsiwrites helped me narrow it down to You Only Line Once. Hope you enjoy this new endeavor!

I haven't talked about this all that often, but yessss, I have now started line-edits on my second novel, FOSTERED (which I talk about a lot, lol). I wrote this book when I was 13, and after watching @sarahkelsiwrites line edit in her Shrink Line Edit series, decided to take this on. I’m documenting my (very slow) progress on MyWriteClub as well. My goal was actually to get these edits done by the third of February, but at the pace I’m going, am totally going to have to scale that due date up.

I’ve actually re-written a scene from FOSTERED twice just for fun, and I always enjoyed the idea of possibly cleaning up the prose so it was an easier read. I haven’t read this book the full way through since I wrote it three entire years ago. Probably because the prose isn’t all that great, and while I’ve been able to move past that in recent months, I lose motivation after a while, and always stop reading at the same place. So that’s a bit of an explanation as to why I’m doing this exactly (still not publishing these books tho lol).

This has actually been my side project for the last couple weeks, but since life has = chaos the past while, I’m only now launching this thing. Regardless, I hope this journey will be fun (but expect lots of angst because that’s basically all I do when I line edit).

Also a quick disclaimer: *I’m line-editing this book, yes, to improve readability, but this isn't a re-write. My edits will continue to preserve the vibe and writing style of the original draft, so keep that in mind! Depending on the passage, rewrites may be involved (*cough* looking *cough* at *cough* Foster’s *cough* dialogue *cough*), but it’s sort of a selective process (not how I line edit for current shtuff, by the way, thought I’d put that out there).

Onto the shtuff:

Today’s goal: So this actually was my goal two days ago since I’m writing this for that session, but the goal was to (unrealistically, as I admitted) finish edits on chapter 6. If you missed my vid on line editing, I do two rounds of edits, the first pass, then the final cleanup. The first pass takes a very long time, so after I’m done that, I move onto the next chapter, edit that the final time, then edit the previous chapter a second time, etc, etc. Yesterday’s session was for chapter six’s first pass.

What I actually line-edited: I completed the first scene of six, as well as half of the last scene, so not too shabby, since I did make the goal at like 1AM.

Total chapter count: 4 edited in full, chapters 5 and 6 awaiting final pass

Total page count: 25

Updated word count: 89 008 in comparison to the original 88 000

The overall scope: Editing went rather well? The beginning was rusty because I had to remould some very stilted dialogue/fix some pacing issues, but I think the chapter has improved quite a bit. I cut a looooot of things in this chapter, as opposed to adding, which was a nice change, lol.

Music or nahhh: I don't believe so!

How much I angsted on a scale from 1-10: Not all that much. I’d say a 5 at most for the worst of it which was the very beginning of the chapter. I call this a win.

Song title that describes line-editing session: (stole this from my outlannis updates but this question is one of my faves to answer ha) You’re Good by The Narwhals. I felt pretty determined and collected, which was a very nice change, haha.

Favourite chapter edited thus far and why: I would still say it’s chapter one. I like the edits I've made on later chapters, but there’s something about the first chapter that I wouldn't mind reading again. I think I fleshed out Reeve’s voice a lot more in chapter one and made her sound a lot less monotonous which is cool, and I think with the edits, it’s a much better opening. Which is great, because chapter one hasn't really been a favourite!

(as mentioned before, this is totally still not going to be perfect by any means. this one is pretty neutral/is a good example of what a clean up would look like!)

BEFORE (ft. a surplus amount of exclamation marks):

“Harrison come on! That’s not true! C’mon don’t think like that. If you weren’t here we’d all be dead right now! Do you not remember that little three trick you pulled with Red. Now don’t tell me shit that it was your fault in the first place because if you hadn’t told Red about me blah, blah, blah! You saved our lives regardless! Whether it was caused by a negative decision or not! So stop complaining! Just stop! I’m sick of hearing this because I really don’t like it when you talk about yourself like that!” I snap back, folding my arms over my chest. When he grabs me into a hug, I don’t flinch away, I return the favour.

“So, will you stop it then?” I murmur.

“I’ll try. Thanks Reeve.” He mumbles then has disappeared to the other side, leaving me in the darkness. Yes, there is no light, no sun to warm me. But on the inside, I’m as sunny as ever, my glow revoking every negative thought that has brought me down.

AFTER (ft. a considerable decrease in exclamation marks):

“That’s not true.” My voice is more frantic than I expect. Desperate for him to understand that the mistakes we’ve both made in the last couple days have hurt, but don’t define us. “Don’t think like that, alright? If you weren’t here, we’d all be dead right now. Do you not remember that little three trick you pulled with Red? You saved our lives regardless.” I bite my lip. “I know it’ll take some time, but I think we’re working on whatever this is.”

When he hugs me, I’m surprised, but return the favour anyway. He’s warm, despite the cool air moulded around us, smells like leather and ground coffee.

I’m not sure how long we stand there like that. But it’s enough time to solidify the lump in my throat, push the stupid feeling of missing something higher and higher in my stomach.

Eventually, he lets go, leaves me in the darkness. There is no light, no sun to warm me. But on the inside, I’m bright, my glow bringing me fresh hope for a new beginning.

Hiding in Plain Sight- part seven

Evolution- Deductions vs Mind Palace: A Comprehensive Look

“Sometimes a deception is so audacious, so outrageous that you can’t see it even when it’s staring you in the face.”

We’re nearly there. Just one more part after this one. My closing argument and the entire reason for all of these posts. If you’ve ready any- or all of them- I want to thank you and hope that, once it’s all said and done, I haven’t wasted your time. <3

SERIES THREE

I really want to try and keep this one short and simple. There’s nothing really left to uncover regarding new revelations about this episode. I mean, it’s pretty straight-forward in that it takes place in Sherlock’s head.

This episode was ground zero for EMP theory. The questionable ‘realness’ of the modern scenes led @the-7-percent-solution, @gosherlocked and myself to discuss the idea that if we couldn’t trust to know which of those modern scenes were real, then how could we know what led up to TAB was real either. And, thus a theory was born!

Right from the start, we knew this episode was going to be a trip. Most everyone in fandom that had been keeping up with setlock during filming probably guessed this would largely take place in Sherlock’s head. I mean, how else could they make a suddenly Victorian era Sherlock fit into a modern series? What we weren’t prepared for was just how ‘immersed’ Sherlock truly would be within the whole thing.

So far on Sherlock

That was an understatement. Immediately, they start the episode off with a re-cap which would usually show the pertinent moments of the show. The things that we should remember from episodes past, that have led us to this point.

In a show titled Sherlock, in the episode just before this one, you would think it would be an ideal time to refresh everyone’s memories on the most important and pivotal moment from that episode. Like, oh, I don’t know:

At this point, it is still all about Sherlock and John.

As I was watching this, I made a separate post about the only bit we see of Mary in the whole thing. But, also what struck me most were the images and corresponding dialogue of this part:

They made certain to remind us that John has called Sherlock a ‘drama queen’. Can’t imagine why that would be relevant in an episode about to take place completely within Sherlock’s mind.

But, I also went out on a limb as to what the second two images could mean with the dialogue they are shown with:

*EMP alert* If I were a person that believed Sherlock is in coma (I am) and that he could possibly hear what is going on around him (I do) then I could argue that this might be a bit of coma bleed-through, or simply that Sherlock is telling himself- reminding himself- that he has to solve this case. This very ‘old’ case of The Abominable Bride because he is, in fact, dying.

What I’m confusingly trying to say, and point out here, has to do with a lot of the complaints of S4. That Mofftiss lost the plot. Which, again, may very well be a possibility. No one is perfect, those asshats, especially, BUT-

Would they have managed to to write Mary as this amazing villain and then boop! in the same episode just erase that entire plot point? To what end? I guess the argument could be made that they merely wanted an excuse to do that whole grand mind palace segment, but did it have to be Mary? They could have had Janine shoot Sherlock, or even CAM for that matter. Sherlock did break into his place of business. It feels as if there is more of a long-game at play here than we are willing to allow ourselves to believe, since S4 aired.

Mofftiss may not be perfect writers and story-tellers, but they can manage to tell a cohesive story. Nothing since the shooting has been cohesive. And that feels purposeful. If they had wanted a truly redeemed Mary, they wouldn’t have made our eyes twitch with this image:

They wouldn’t have pointed and shouted for us to hear these lines:

Over the many years it has been my privilege to recall the exploits of my remarkable friend, Mr Sherlock Holmes, it has sometimes been difficult to choose which of his many cases to set before my readers. Some are still too sensitive to recount, whilst some are still too recent in the minds of the public. But, in all our many adventures together, no case pushed my friend to such mental and physical extremes as that of The Abominable Bride.

John’s blog

The last ‘official’ entry made on John’s blog was after the wedding. A month before Mary shot Sherlock. A post made by a pouty baby Sherlock about the wedding and complaining that John was on his ‘sex holiday’. The post before that was dated almost a month earlier (Yes, the dates for the wedding are different in the show as they are on the blog, I don’t know why, but for arguments sake, I’m just ignoring that fact) John doesn’t update on a regular schedule. It seems he posts whenever he gets around to writing up the cases. Which is fine. It’s all good.

The thing is, though, months have gone by. I’m sure it’s no secret to the public that Sherlock was shot, even if they managed to keep who did it from being public. Wouldn’t John have made some kind of post in that six months between the shooting and Christmas, to report that Sherlock was managing. They they would hopefully be able to start taking cases soon. To reassure their adoring public that their favorite crime-solving duo would be back on the case as soon as Sherlock was up to it?

Why are there no blog posts? Especially as we see in S4, there were plenty of cases being taken on. Hell, there were BLOG POSTS WRITTEN AND DISPLAYED ON SCREEN that all they had to do, to keep up appearances that something wasn’t off, was to upload them onto this blog. Instead, they say John is no longer updating. Why would John not be updating his blog, when there are blog posts we can read on the screen and everyone and their mother keep reminding us about if they don’t want to keep up with the blog anymore?

I don’t imagine it was because Joe Lidster didn’t want to do it anymore, since he was so involved with the Sherlock Twitter.

What other reason could there be for the lack of blog updates during all this time, and all these cases and the need to reassure their paying clients that all is well? Hmm???

Well, John certainly wouldn’t update the blog if he were constantly at Sherlock’s bedside, worrying whether his friend was going to make it. He certainly wouldn’t update if it was still “too sensitive to recount, whilst some are still too recent in the minds of the public.”

Short and sweet

This episode is a mind palace treasure trove, as we all know.

Modern scenes

This is where we get to the nitty gritty. Which modern scenes are real and which aren’t? Well, I’m sure it will come as no surprise to anyone, that I believe none of them to be real.

In the first modern scene, we have this bit from John:

“No, he can do this. I’ve seen it. The mind palace is like a whole world in his head.”

John’s seen it? When, exactly? This is a far cry from the way John described Sherlock’s mind palace in THoB. I know it’s possible that they had talked about it. There is time in the show when we don’t know what they are up to, or see what they are doing, but really? Isn’t that our number 1 complaint about these two idiots? They won’t discuss anything of any significance with each other, but we are to believe they sat down one evening, in front of the fire, and Sherlock described it all to John? Pffft. I highly doubt it.

The only way this John knows what Sherlock’s mind palace is like is if this is Mind Palace John™. If that is the case, then this scene has to be fake. Which means the list is fake, and doesn’t exist in the last modern scene, either.

I mean, didn’t we all think it was so very strange that the Moriarty video pops up, everyone panics across the country. They rush the plane back to the tarmac for Sherlock to save England. The whole lot of them suspect Sherlock has just OD’d, but they find it perfectly okay to sit and chat on board instead of, I don’t know, getting him out of there and to hospital, or at least, rushing him out in order to start working on whatever Moriarty has planned next?

They. Just. Sit. On the plane. And talk at Sherlock. All of which could have been done in the car as they sped off to get to work.

I know I am beating a dead horse here with this, but, honestly. None of those plane scenes are real and no one will convince me that they were. Especially when they give us this moment in the last modern scene:

When Mary picked up Sherlock’s phone, he’d been reading John’s blog. He hadn’t seen Moriarty’s video. No one told him it said ‘miss me?’. And, if the first modern scene was real, we are supposed to believe Sherlock doesn’t remember what just happened? Are they supposed to have been missing him because he’s just returned from his thwarted exile, or missing him since he lapsed into his drug-fueled mind palace again? I don’t believe the ‘miss me?’ here is coincidental.

EMP comes full-circle

If we are to believe Sherlock is awake, why this scene at the end? Breaking into our transmission of the show, just as Moriarty did at the end of HLV, we see Holmes and Watson transition to modern day.

WATSON: What sort of lunatic fantasy is that? HOLMES: It was simply my conjecture of what a future world might look like, and how you and I might fit inside it. HOLMES: From a drop of water, a logician should be able to infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara. WATSON: Or a Reichenbach.

That they are discussing what Holmes imagines for the future and how they would fit in it shouldn’t be discounted, especially since we watch as Victorian Holmes and Watson step into the modern age.

NIGHT & DAY REACTION/REVIEW

i know i said saturday but i couldn’t wait (and my iTunes download came early 🙃). plus, i’m actually writing this as a first full listen, instead of a couple listens later, so welcome to how my mind plays out during the first full listen of this album!!!

TRACK 1: MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT (FEAT. MARTIN JENSEN) FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: i remember switching iTunes stores when this single first came out just to listen to the snippet and i was sHOOK by the lyrics FIRST LISTEN FULL: lyrics: YES, melody: YES, vocals: YES FAVE LYRIC: “so when i call you in the middle of the night and i’m choking on the words cause i miss you, baby don’t tell me i’m out of time i got so much of my lovin to give you”

TRACK 2: ALL NIGHT (FEAT. MATOMA) FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: this song came out so long ago that i don’t even remember how i felt with the snippet FIRST LISTEN FULL: it was the first introduction to EDM VAMPS, and i was into it. i remember when it came out, i was on my way to a full study day, and it was all i listened to. the live versions with the puffs of smoke at the beat drops?? YES FAVE LYRIC: “you showed me how to find myself when i needed it the most”

TRACK 3: HANDS (FEAT. MIKE PERRY & SABRINA CARPENTER) FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: i think the first listen i got was a live video, and i was like um yes???? sing this at big ticket for me in front of all the underage children???? FIRST LISTEN FULL: honestly such a bop, i had it on replay for days. this collab is one of the ones i completely approve of because, even though sabrina was a “disney girl”, her music is a totally different vibe from what you would expect, and this is one of the songs that prove that lyrically. FAVE LYRIC: “can you just drop that dress to the floor? we can talk until sunrise”

TRACK 4: SAME TO YOU FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: when they said the album was “moody” this is the song i think of because of the snippet from the album sampler. i understand why they all want this to be the next single. FIRST LISTEN FULL: this song definitely shows their growth musically and lyrically. no wonder they’re so proud of this song, i’m so proud of them. FAVE LYRIC: “i’m checking in to see if you’re ready to love again”

TRACK 5: PAPER HEARTS FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: my heart was full of warmth when they asked fans to help out with the tour lyric video, and seeing the end result was beautiful. the chorus? help me FIRST LISTEN FULL: THE GUITAR INTRO, INTO IT!! this song is really hitting me in the feelz. fuck it’s beautiful. FAVE LYRIC: “there’s a lot of things that i may not know, but missing you baby is the only thing i know”

TRACK 6: SHADES ON FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: i actually never bothered watching tour vids of this but THE SAMPLER: A FULL ON BOP GET THIS ON MAINSTREAM RADIO WORLDWIDE FIRST LISTEN FULL: A TOTAL OUT OF THIS WORLD BOP!!!!!!!!!! this after paper hearts tho, total uplift. how can the day version of the album get even more upbeat than this???? BRAD’S RAPPING???!??!?!?!?!?!??! WHAT?!??!?!?!??!???!??!!??!? GET THIS ON THE RADIO ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! i need a moment after this song; this should’ve gone before paper hearts tbh FAVE LYRIC: “starting up a party on the pavement like i just got paid” (#relatable)

TRACK 7: IT’S A LIE (FEAT. TINI) FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: super fun song in a super bitchy way. i appreciate them trying to reach multicultural audiences by using a multicultural artist. FIRST LISTEN FULL: the guitar kinda reminds me of bibia be ye ye. this song is so damn sassy i’M INTO IT!! FAVE LYRIC: “could we live ever after? seems like a good idea to me”

TRACK 8: STAY FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: i was kinda disappointed that they over-produced the song and changed some of the lyrics because i got so used to the acoustic version they sang at the shows BUT THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THEY DEPRIVE US WITH NEW MUSIC FOR TOO LONG FIRST LISTEN FULL: ok intro givin me the feelz, but then it just picks up and I JUST WANTED THIS SONG TO BE FULL ACOUSTIC, also not used to the lyric changes :( the keyboard’s a nice touch. it’s like a song to play while you’re at the beach during sunset. IMAGINE BEING WITH THE BOYS AT THE BEACH DURING SUNSET AND THEY’RE SINGING THIS SONG. i like the bridge. i feel it just kinda ends abruptly??? but still one of my all time faves. FAVE LYRIC: “you can wear my favourite t-shirt, and we can waste away the days, but only if you stay”

TRACK 9: MY PLACE FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: i think this is my fave on the whole album??? FIRST LISTEN FULL: the chorus!!!!!!! the guitar riff reminds me of a song, but i can’t seem to think of it??? a good end of summer song tbh! can u believe they just had to add the “bluesman” STAY THE SAME BOYS, NEVER CHANGE FAVE LYRIC: “look at that face, i don’t ever wanna let you down”

TRACK 10: SAD SONG FIRST LISTEN SNIPPET: I DIDN’T KNOW THAT I WAS STARVING TIL I TASTED YOU DONT NEED NO BUTTERFLIES WHEN YOU GIVE ME THE WHOLE DAMN ZOO anyways, this song got stuck in my head at work after listening to the album sampler, so that’s a good sign FIRST LISTEN FULL: I DIDN’T KNOW THAT I WAS STARVING TIL I TASTED YOU!!!! honestly same chords as starving, collab with hailee steinfeld pls! (someone also mashup staving with this asap) it’s a mature breakup song??? they ended with a really catchy bop. INTO IT. FAVE LYRIC: “and i know, you know, i know i can’t let it end this way”

JAMES EDITION: I LOVE LOVING YOU this song very much screams JAMES MCVEY: pop/rock but still a hint of country. it’s a cutesie love song, i love it. FAVE LYRIC: i’m certain there’s a sunrise and the night falls just like they do

JAMES EDITION: HIGHER i’m not gonna lie to you, i’m not a complete fan of james’ vocals as a solo artist, BUT, nevertheless, i can respect his abilities, along with his strong song writing. this is one of those songs that showcase those abilities really well. these songs are for kirstie right??? ;)))) FAVE LYRIC: if everything’s changing, i need you to know, the hardest decision was letting you go

CONNOR EDITION: ON MY WAY i really enjoy connor’s type of music; lyrically and musically. this is so catchy, and would be a great song for a road trip. can't wait to blast it in my car. FAVE LYRIC: the footprints that i left yesterday are the ones that should be kept as memories

VERDICT: tbh, i had kinda low expectations for this album bc i didn’t really know how to feel about the boys going a more EDM direction, BUT all the songs are total bops??? they’re all different; no songs sound alike in any way (other than sad song and starving, i’m never getting over that), and they all just kinda flow well with one another. i’m glad they took their time with this album, and released something that they’re truly proud of, instead of releasing an album that was half-assed. i appreciate the different editions based on each member; the songs included are very much an accurate representation of them, and something they are individually proud of. i hope somehow, someway they get this album to break into the north american market, bc SHADES ON DESERVES RADIO PLAY!!! this album exceeded my expectations, and did not disappoint at all. 5 STARS!!!!!
