Dangina + Blood & Bath

Dan wakes up suddenly, with a start, daylight still streaming through the windows. 

He sits up quickly, scrambling, until his eyes land on Milo, still fast asleep. 

He lets out a deep breath, and scrubs a hand over his face, and gets up slowly, careful not to jostle the baby still asleep on his bed. 

(He knows it’s bad, all the books he’s read in the last two months say that it’s bad. They’ve been meaning to make a real nursery for weeks now, but there just never seems to be time. Whenever there’s time to spare, Dan always ends up accidentally asleep, like now.)

He situates Milo on the bed, takes away all potential hazards, and places two of the pillows from the head of the bed at the baby’s sides for security. He holds his breath the whole time, but Milo sleeps on, and for a rare moment, everything is perfectly quiet. 

“Shit – goddammit – fuck!”

Dan nearly jumps out of his skin at the fierce string of expletives coming from outside the room, then he immediately casts an anxious eye to the baby, but he’s thankfully still asleep. It must be a testament to Milo’s Sparks’ DNA, the ability to be unbothered by whatever his mother’s got going on now. 

Dan is not so gifted, so after one more glance to his son he rushes out of the room, following the source of the scream into the bathroom. 

Georgina’s head jerks up when he appears at the doorway, her mouth pulled in a tight grimace, pale eyes blazing like they had when she’d gone into labor: shock, pain, and a not insignificant amount of panic.  

He looks her over frantically, trying to find the source of the scream—Georgina’s hardly the type of girl to implode at the sight of a spider, so it must be serious. She’s wrapped in the flannel bathrobe that Lily bought him for Christmas last year but he never used, and there’s his razor that he hasn’t used since Milo was born clutched in her left hand, and —

“Holy shit.”

The reason for the scream becomes apparent when Dan sees the bloody mess around her left ankle. 

Georgina still says nothing, but her face hardens into some twisted jovial nonchalance. 

“Are you okay?” he asks, stepping forward, even though part of him really doesn’t want to. 

Her veneer cracks for a second, and then it’s back. “I’m fine. Just cut myself shaving, is all.”

“That’s all? It’s fucking Sweeney Todd in here, Georgie.”

She scoffs. “Don’t worry about it. Go check on the baby or something.”

“Milo’s asleep,” Dan says bluntly, taking the razor out of her hand. “Though your scream nearly woke him up.”

Georgina lifts her shoulders in a shrug. “Consider it payback.” 

Dan blinks at her for a second, before shaking it off, tossing the bloodied razor into the sink behind him. “Come on.” 

He puts an arm around her and guides her to step out of the bathtub, then pushes her down by her shoulders to sit on the side of it. 

Once satisfied she’s not about to make a break for it, he turns around to face the cabinet over the sink, pulls out the first aid basics he needs, and wets a clean washcloth. 

Dan sits down on the closed toilet seat, directly opposite Georgina, then cups a hand around her calf, guiding her leg up to balance her foot on his knee. He starts cleaning the wound, mopping up the blood surrounding it. Despite the gore that greeted him at first sight, it doesn’t actually look that bad. 

“I think it’ll be okay,” he announces, glimpsing Georgina’s face as she watches him work, teeth worry at her lip. “But if you’d rather go to the ER to get it checked out –”

“No,” she says quickly, cutting him off, “no hospital.” She crosses her arms over her chest. “I’ve banked more than enough time there, thank you very much.”

Two memories fly to the front of his mind, the first, from Milo’s birth a few weeks ago. On the way from holding to delivery, Georgina had refused to let go of his hand, and he’d had to power walk to keep up with the gurney. Once the team of doctors and nurses had turned away, she’d whispered, so small he might not have been supposed to hear it. “I hate hospitals.”

The other memory is less sharp, blurred by time and whatever they had been drinking that night on the roof, Georgina telling him about the latest of horrific rehab facilities her parents had shut her in because they didn’t want to deal with her. No wonder she hates hospitals. 

“Okay,” he tells her now. “Then we’ll just deal with it here.” 

She meets his eye briefly, and nods. 

He bobs his head in return, then goes back to work. 

It’s not that bad, but it’s still pretty grisly, the blade had taken a decent chunk of skin off her ankle, and the water from shaving had made the blood run faster, hence the mess. 

Dan gets the bleeding to slow with the washcloth, and uses the antiseptic wipes he found in the cabinet to clean the wound as best he can.

Georgina hisses when the wipe touches her skin, no doubt from the sting, and Dan shushes her on instinct, like she’s Milo, and brushes his thumb over her leg in a soothing gesture. 

He feels her stiffen in the hand holding her leg in place. It’s an odd thing for them, tenderness, it hadn’t really ever been something they shared between them. It was what Dan had liked about her at first, honestly, that he didn’t have to try to be anything, and he liked that she wasn’t gentle with him, either, which is a can of worms he is not going to open right now, or possibly ever. 

They’d had none of that, yet still managed to create a whole person together. Dan always thought in a far-off, someday kind of way that he would be a father eventually, he just thought his child’s mother would also be someone he was actually in love with. 

Dan spares a glance up at Georgina, her gaze fixed on the tiled floor, blood droplets littered across it. He should mop when they’re finished here. 

“So,” he ventures, “can I ask: why the sudden urge to shave your legs at three pm on a Tuesday?”

Her gray eyes dart around the bathroom, never landing on him, or on the ankle he’s doctoring. “I just…wanted to do something that felt like me.”

Dan glances up at her face, then back down, unsure of what to say. These past weeks, he feels like something in his cellular makeup has been rewritten. He wasn’t a father, and how he is, and all of him has changed because of it. And he’s not even the one who gave birth.

He is a dad, and Milo is all that matters, so Dan will be here for him, and has been here every day since Georgina showed up at his door to take care of him. They are both here for Milo, and they’ve been a surprisingly good team at it, him and Georgina. Though he supposes chemistry was never really their problem. 

Dan then thinks about his own parents, and everything that surrounded their breakup, and thinks that maybe being there for Milo means being there for his mother too. 

Satisfied with his cleaning job, he reaches for a bandage, tearing its paper wrapping open. “You know,” he clears his throat, “if you ever…need a night – to like, get a hotel and just take a break, I can cover for you.”

Georgina’s gaze finally settles on him, disarmed, before flickering back into something like casual interest. “Is this your nice way of trying to kick me out?” she asks, faux-sweet. 

“No,” Dan counters, smoothing the adhesive bandage down over her ankle. “I’m just trying to keep you from fileting yourself while our son sleeps in the next room.”

“So if I fileted myself elsewhere that would be fine?”

“At least then I’m not the one who has to clean it up.”

Georgina lets out a surprised bark of laughter. She doesn’t laugh like anyone else Dan knows, it’s like whip-crack, quick and lashing. And, oddly, for the first time in weeks, it sounds like…her.

There's a saying that every person in the world is every age they've ever been, somewhere inside, and I think it's true; I'm in my forties now, but some days I wake up and start getting ready to catch the bus to my high school. So it's weird for me to know that people have read my books, graduated school, and gone on to remember me.

I was wondering if you’ve seen Good Omens (2 seasons out on Amazon Prime) and if you would consider it BL? It has some similar aspects while other aspects are considerably different. Thoughts?

I started watching Season 1 but like Our Flag Means Death it's not really my thing. I don't watch much TV in English anymore unless I have to for work.

I do not consider it in any way BL. It has none of the tropes, origins, source material, country, archetypes, settings, characters, or yaoi heritage. There's nothing BL about it.

ALL BL has a queer romantic arc, but not all content with a queer romantic arc is BL.

Also, Good O doesn't NEED to be associated with BL. It's not in it's marketing or DNA. It's not relevant to its fanbase or demographics. Why would they want to slap a BL moniker on it? Why would you? Why would anyone?

I mean there is crossover watchers (between BL and us) but that's about it. But that's because it's Gaimen (not because it's at all BL) and for some reason Gaimen is a big deal with lots of fans. (Don't @ me I can't STAND his stuff. It's like Stephen King. I'm never gonna get it. You do you massive fandoms, don't involve me, I don't like your content. I'm side eyeing Star Wars, Twilight, and Harry Potter too. Look I'm either too old or too young and that shit just sailed by me and I toddled along in a weird kid fog of trying to find queer shit as a total geek - which, as a few of you reading this know, took us olds to some very odd places in the days before the internet... bootlegged Ranma ½ anyone? Something about the cultural and linguistic backbone means BL just doesn't seem to work if it comes from somewhere else.

I'm thinking also about the great 2020 Dialogue around Date Me, Bryson Keller - which is an English Language derivative(?) work of my favorite BL of all time, Seven Days.

And I really don't want to get into that kind of debate again.

The point of genre (or sub genre) is to manage our expectations. It's like the label on a TV dinner. We gotta know if we're getting Spaghetti or Pad Thai. That packaged meal could very well be a terrible execution of either, and they ARE both noodles, but I want my expectations met. And if I opened a container labeled Pad Thai and got spaghetti I'd be pretty darn pissed.

If someone sold me Good Omens by saying it was a BL? And I watched it thinking it was? I'd be mad at both them and it.

20. what is your favorite trope to write?

unsure how much these count as tropes buuuuut I love writing long in-depth conversations between characters and relationship negotiation and unrequited feelings and I love sprinkling in slight horror vibes even when I'm not actively writing horror fic 💪💥

73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?

I feel like I tend to visualise it like a movie first and then just sorta... translate it into prose, but it does kinda depend on the scene. If I'm writing something that's a bit more heavy on the imagery/metaphors then it'll be more of a letting the words just happen kinda vibe. But yeah, it tends to be kind of a mix and match for me.

90. do you notice your own voice in your writing style?

Honestly not that often, but I do definitely have the odd moment where I pull a stephen king and chuck in some very specific phrase that I know no one else uses, especially in like dialogue or internal monologue. That post about how writing while autistic means that every character ends up with a little bit of autism feels very relevant here icl

97. abstract or detailed romance scenes?

2 aro people spiderman pointing at each other meme. look man I feel like i'm very upfront about the fact that writing romance feels like pulling teeth for me, but sometimes I get a little bug in my brain that means I like. have to write it. My instinct I think is to usually stay pretty abstract but also I hate it being abstract so I do actively fight to not have it be like that, and I think most of the time it works out. Also I feel like a lot of the time the way I write romance is indistinguishable from the way I write strong friendship, so make of that what you will.

Writing Trope: The Magical Black Person

Ever since I started embracing my indigenous background, my perspective on things changed. Matters I never gave a second thought now give thought. Though I may not be the best at offering advice, I'd like to attempt it, focusing today on the "magical black person" trope. For clarification, I'm a white-passing Puerto Rican of Taino and Berber descent, with much of my life lived in the United States under a white family. I say all of this because the actual name for the trope is called the “magical negro” trope however since I grew up under a white family I don’t feel comfortable saying the actual name but it’s there if you wish to do some research.

The magical black person trope is simple; consider any Stephen King or Morgan Freeman movie (bonus points if you can name a movie with Morgan Freeman based on a story by Stephen King). Typically, there's a black character who aids the white hero by providing advice. If the magical black person is a woman, she often speaks her mind, offering the white hero needed truths. If the character is a black man, he adopts the strong, silent type, conveying profound meaning with few words.

This trope becomes most evident when the magical black person is the sole character of colour. They’re rarely portrayed as rich or powerful; instead, they embody humility and thoughtfulness. Despite potential intimidation, the black man typically has a soft side. Although often less privileged than the white hero, the magical black person aids them because it's the right thing to do. Sometimes, these characters only cross paths once, yet the magical black person imparts essential wisdom that propels the hero forward.

Writers employing the magical black person trope may unconsciously attempt to showcase inclusivity by saying, "I'm not racist; I have a person of color in my story, and they help the hero!" However, if you change the identity of the black character nothing is loss.

Ironically, even in stories advocating against racism, this trope is still relevant as the black person sacrifices everything for the white hero out of "love." A notable example is the relationship between Jim and Tom Sawyer, where Tom gets shot, and Jim risks everything to nurse him back to health.

Elders and tribal leaders also fall under this category. It's almost comical how frequently a white hero enters a tribal village, seeks guidance from the tribal leader, and receives assistance simply because it's deemed the right thing to do. The tribal leader will also give the white hero a spirit name and welcomed them as part of their village. In reality, many elders that I know of had told white people to fuck off.

The inclusion of magical black people can feel forced, as if they exist merely to fulfil a checkbox. The advice they provide is often simplistic, and sometimes the advice had already been given to the hero, but at the time of the story, they were unwilling to hear it, making the magical black person seem redundant.

This trope often intertwines with the "white man's burden," seen in stories where white people “ends racism” with the help of the black community without facing accountability for their actions. "The Help" is a film that get’s a lot of flack for doing just that.

In essence, what makes the magical black person trope problematic is that it reduces them to a servant role for the white hero while positioning them as an exception within their own community. White creators tend to praise the individual black character rather than appreciating black culture—a distinctly white tendency.

The saying "it takes a village to raise a child" isn’t a common approach for white individuals, who often lead isolated lives. Popular stories by white authors emphasise the individual hero's ability to save the day because they’re "special." While the hero may receive assistance, those who help them serve a singular purpose—assisting the hero rather than being integral to the journey. (Not to mention the hero gets the girl in the end because of sexism but I won’t get into that with this post.)

To address this trope, engaged with the community you want to write about. Give the magical black person a meaningful role in the story, making them indispensable. Additionally, consider adding more people of color to your narrative. It could also be beneficial to position the magical black person in a higher position than the hero. Please don’t just listen to my advice, talk to others you’ll learn more, trust me. 

Understanding tropes, their origins, and their implications is a crucial step in becoming a skilled writer. Challenging yourself to view things from different perspectives enhances your writing abilities. If you have any writing-related questions, feel free to message me. I actually didn't picture Mikey's parents at all before, like I really didn't think they were gonna be relevant so just kind of erased them from my mind. You guessed their appearances right though???

Lmao ran lives in a door, that is the strongest thing I've ever heard of, just living in a door. It sounds like he's jumping dimensions or something, travelling between you and the manga. I can't remember my dreams mostly, I just wake up and sometimes remember the feelings but barely the actual dream.

Oh I actually know the mummy one! Did you know they also ground them up and put them in medicine? People ate mummy powder to cure things, they also put them in makeup and fire places and used it for a bunch of other things. I didn't know the paint colour was called mummy brown though, guess they weren't too inventive with the names back then.

Yeah the teeth thing is creepy but it was a legitimate job, selling your teeth and ripping them out of dead soldiers.

I saw your reading list post. Can you recommend a recent book from it? I like all genres. Right now I only read old books and books about the history of specific stuff. I need to read something relevant and I don’t know where to start.

welllll yes but it might not be too recent. all the books i read on internet archive which means that the newest books i can find are 2017-2018. I can absolutely tell you the basic premise without giving too much away!

Basically, KingsVerse (i've had to call it that instead kingverse because APPARENTLY, stephen king fans are using the latter and i didn't know until like. a year ago), is my cohesive yugioh universe, in which every single yugioh series takes place in the same universe, on the same timeline. This is all connected by the presence of the King, a human with an extremely powerful soul who appears once a generation.

The King's job is to maintain the balance between the twelve dimensions, between humanity and the Shadow Folk (duel monster spirits). As mentioned before, one King is born into each generation, which means that an older King is usually available to mentor the new King before they take over. You don't have to die to pass on the King's Soul, you just have to lose a duel to your successor, so previous Kings will often stick around with their successors to help them out here or there.

I actually did start putting together a wiki for relevant things to this universe, though it's pretty bare bones right now lol. I think I saw you go through all my Halloween fics so you already know that (almost) all of them take place in the KingsVerse (Incidence is the only one that does not), but my GX nextgen series, Yu-Gi-Oh! RED, does as well! I've also made a few worldbuilding posts about how dimensions are set up in this universe.

I have...copious notes and plans to write "main-line" KingsVerse stories in nearly all of yugioh series lol.

At his fans' prompting he seems to delight in discussing his favourite steak houses, Led Zeppelin, getting in touch with his already noted "innocent side" at Disney World, and – of particular interest for this blog – literature.

Once you've got over the strange image of a rock banshee like Rose hitching his kilt, putting his feet up and settling down with a nice paperback, his views on books repay attention. His list of favourites, for a start, is fun: "The Stand [by Stephen King], A Scanner Darkly [Philip K Dick], Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, James Dean: The Mutant King [David Dalton] and Zodiac [Neal Stephenson]."

More interesting still is Rose's explanation of how his recent track The Catcher in the Rye was inspired by JD Salinger's classic novel (click here and scroll right down).

There's something very neat about the fact that Rose and Salinger, two of the great recluses of modern times, should meet thus in song – especially as Salinger is probably the only living person to have frustrated more people than Rose with his disinclination to put out new product (it's 45 years and counting for Salinger, putting Rose's 15 in the shade – although rumour has it that something might arrive next month).

It also seems fitting that the eternally adolescent and angry Rose should empathise with Holden Caulfield, the teen narrator who has such trouble with the "phoney" adult world. But Rose is striving for something beyond these simple parallels. His explanation on the forum suggests he was thinking quicker than he could type, but his meaning is clear:

"It started as fascination and curiosity with Holden Caulfield syndrome and what was or could possibly be in the book that obviously certain vulnerable people have seemed to become so passionate about and resort to outrageous public attempts or acts of violence."

Why Chapman plumped for Salinger's book in this way is unanswerable, but even for those less deluded than him, the book has mind-blowing qualities. It's one of those rare and precious books that, if it catches you at the right time, can change your world. With its lonely desperation and hints at mental instability, it's also pretty disturbing. Using it as Rose did in an attempt to channel Mark Chapman must have been weird at best. It's small wonder Rose says he destroyed his copy after finishing the song.

I'm a Slytherin and my zodiac sign is Cancer. I'm someone who loves being out in nature and can't stand big cities. I read like,, a lot, my bookshelf covers one whole wall of the room and its still not big enough for all of my books, but since I have dyslexia a lot of my books are 'easy to read' stuff like Mangas or books meant for young teens. Overall I read pretty much any genre but my favs are Fantasy and Western, my favorite author is Stephen King. I'm pretty much always listening to music, mostly Pop-Punk and Hard Rock stuff. I also love animals, and have been an equestrian since I was 6. Other than that I like rollerblading, swimming, cool knives, amusement parks, baking, archery, gardening and Horror movies. Horror movies? As long as they don’t have terrible depictions of vampires then he’s all for it. While he might not fully understand ADHD and Autism this doesn’t mean he’s going to remain ignorant about either. With you all he wants to do is prove that he cares about you, making sure you never doubt that he loves you.

Marko knows that you’re with David and he would never do anything to break the two of you up. That being said he’s pretty sure that he’s in love with you and that David’s the wrong person for you. He’s seen how ruthless David can be, knows that you’ve seen it as well when everyone’s out together on the boardwalk. All Marko really wants to do is make you feel cared for and he wants to be the person to make you feel that way. Although there’s satisfaction in the knowledge that the two of you are friends he does wish that you would see him in the same way as he sees you.

Is writing still relevant? I'm thinking about going ham on a story that's been in my brain for over 5 years but you know... I've been thinking is writing even relevant i mean obviously people read but like there's sooooo many people trying to make it big but how many of those people actually get there book out there idk I'm so lost in thought what do you think?

I definitely understand where you’re coming from. In today’s society the arts are given great importance in concept, but little to no importance in action – jobs in the arts are hard to obtain, and it often requires a fair amount of luck to stumble into one no matter how talented or skilled you are. People with dreams to pursue the arts professionally – as writers, artists, dancers, musicians – are often given sympathetic looks and asked, “What’s your backup plan?”. It’s hard to keep believing in yourself and your talent/passion when “You’ll never make it!” is coming from all directions. However, I personally don’t think this makes writing – or any of the other arts – irrelevant, for a couple of different reasons.

1. You’re right in that people still read – that means there’s still a big demand for books, and as old authors die or put out new novels less often, the stage opens for new authors to break through. It may seem difficult for writers to break through, and it is, but not quite as difficult as all those warnings that you need to “have a backup plan” want you to think. It takes time and hard work, and yes, you might face rejection, but the key is staying persistent and not taking rejection to heart. A few examples: J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series was rejected time after time (I believe 12 publishers declined it before it was accepted for publication); Chicken Soup For The Soul (not everyone’s cup of tea, but inarguably a public favorite, and now a multimillion dollar industry) was rejected 33 consecutive times; Stephen King himself had his first novel (also the novel that was his springboard to the best-seller’s list), Carrie, rejected 30 times. Persistence is neccessary to make it in any department of the arts, so don’t give up, and continue to sharpen your skills.

2. More importantly, is writing relevant to you? The only thing that matters about creating is that you like what you’re doing – getting published is great, but if you don’t like the stories coming out of your pen, writing professionally will be just as bad as a 9-5 job in an office cubicle. The inverse is true as well: you might be working as a cashier in HEB so that you can stay caught up on the rent, you might have a cruddy car that needs repairs you can’t afford, but if you still write when you can, and if you still enjoy writing, it will be so worth it when you break through.Art in its purest form always has been and always be for its creator rather than its audience. An artist is a person on a stage in an empty auditorium, talking or singing to himself or just sitting there and painting – people may stumble into the auditorium, like what they see and stay, but even if his audience grows to thousands or even millions of people, the artist still creates for himself, as if the audience wasn’t there. I’m not saying that people who submit their work for publication are in it for the money and aren’t artists – I want to submit my work to a publisher in the future. However, I personally want to do so because writing fulfills me, and I want to spend as much time writing as possible – I know a job takes up a lot of time, so I want to make writing my job. Money isn’t my reason for wanting to write for a living – spending as much time writing as possible is, and speaking to people through my writing.An example: Arthur Conan Doyle, the author of the Sherlock Holmes series, grew to loathe Holmes, because he felt that Holmes took attention away from his historical works (which he considered to be his “real writing”). After he “killed” Holmes, people begged him to bring Holmes back, and he refused – until people started flashing money. Doyle revived Holmes and continued to write Sherlock stories, but they made him miserable.

The foundation of my long lecture is this: if writing pleases you, and if that story’s been in your head for 5 years and it still won’t leave you alone, write it! Even if it sits in a drawer for years before it sees the sun again, if it benefits you to write it, it’s worth it.

Episode #1: "I'm ready to punch a bitch." - Timmy

I swear to god... If y'all cast any of my enemies I'm gonna DIE. I need a chance to STRIVE AND NOT DIE.

Omg getting in the game feels soo amazing, like I have said I have not played in sooo long so i feel this will be the ultimate test for my capabilities, the good thig is that not many people know each other so that’s good. My idea for the first day is just to talk to everyone see where they are if they know anyone etc etc. This is just veery exciting!

Feeling good about my tribe, most people have actually talked which is a big plus. Getting good vibes from Shea, and Miguel, and Federico a bit. If Alyssa is the Alyssa I know she’ll be fun to work with too. Still though, early days on the Kato beach. First challenge is kind of annoying though as some of the items are ??? But I’ve done some videos and I’ll try and do more.

WOOO the game has started!! I'm excited for the most part except.... THERES TOO MANY TUMBLR FACES HERE. I wanted an entirely new slate and a whole new cast for me but I guess that's a rip! I know Alyssa, StephenW, Zach, Timmy, Jess, and TJ!

I think that the idol system is definitely cute!! And I want to get an idol so yeah!

I think I'm hitting it off pretty well with Zach (He's probably good with peeps tbh), and Liam (Even though I confused his intro with Daniel's)

The challenge is a scavenger hunt aka my least favorite challenge so thanks, I hate it!!

I can already tell that this is going to be an interesting season just based on the people that I already know coming into the game. I'm happy that on my tribe I already know Tim, Jess, and Zach so that should be good for me for at least the first few rounds. I don't really want to stick with the people I already know though because that's boring. I'm happy Alyssa is on the other tribe and not my tribe right now because I have no intention on working with her because people love doing whatever she says in orgs and I'm not here for it. If we get onto a tribe together or both make it to merge, she is my target and I won't be quiet about it. Might as well focus on my own tribe for now though. Besides the 3 mentioned before, I have only spoken to Karthik who seems alright so that's good. Only issue is that he's like 10.5 hours ahead timewise so that's going to be interesting. I still need to talk to the others but all in good time.

hie girlies this is my first confessional of the SEASON! as always, i'll just give a typical analysis of each person on my tribe, how i vibe with them, etc. i'll also throw in some random pieces of info i guess woo. this is finna be long btw.

jess - she's a likeable queen but she has a big tendency to leave me on read. i think this is either her thinking i'm boring but i'm not sure. ik in TS guyana she was criticized at FTC for being lacklustre in responding so i'm hoping it's just that opposed to something on my behalf. she's really cool tho!! karthik - karthik is short in response sometimes but never leaves our convo on read, which i respect. he seems to know that i won embb9 + am 'really liked' in the community.. he rlly is delusional huh? jk ASKGDS he's great tho. i know my friends like him and he can be a great player so i'm anticipating working with him hopefully. stephen - stephen is a king too. he's someone that probably would know some of my game ig but... who knows. he's relevant in EM. our conversations have been fun and i'm really hoping to get close to him because he seems chill. timmy - i know timmy from tumblr. currently he's not that great socially but i do like him and we have a long ass snapchat streak. there are a few tumblrs in this game but afaik i don't have any bad blood with him so i'm def planning on roping him in. the most recent thing is he backdoored my mom's duo in his last org AKSGLDSG so... stan list. daniel - daniel knows me from a past org that i put no effort into, which i think is fine because i really only made it far since my duo/partner dragged me. i'mma play up a perception with him, but he is really cool as of now. i am SOOO worried that i did something bad or mean in that game and he's going 2 haunt me LOL. tim - tim is the person i've connected with most. he's really chill, actively messages me back, and is just fun and flirty. we've already talked about him and his potential boy, our favourite cereals and overall eating. i know him from tumblr too, but vaguely, but i was apart of the 'evil friendgroup' whereas he was on the other, 'nice friendgroup', but i'm hoping that has minimal impact if any. liam - liam is fine. i know him from FB but we've never interacted. he knows i played egypt so... if that's his perception of me.. i'm FLYING. he's really nice though + is a fellow canadian, so i'm hoping to get close to him. woo!! ally - saving the best for last. ally is really nice and i do like her a lot. she is sweet and like... we're great pals ?? ASGKDSG jk idk. we played a game together where i immunity ran final 6 onwards and voted her out twice (f4/3) and it left a bitterish taste in her mouth (but rightfully so for how i handled it). we are friends but i'm scared that she aint finna let me far. idk. i want her out soon bc she could do damage but i'd also be 10000% down to work with her again this game. WOOO idk. love u ally.

So, I'm really happy to be here. This is my 3rd or 4th time applying so I feel ready and excited to play! I was super happy to see Alyssa on my tribe as we get along super duper well. I like my tribe overall.

This first challenge has me a bit nervous. I started my new job today and they didn't give me a very long break for the hours I worked and my ankle and knee are really acting up (I broke my ankle in like 2014 and my knee in 2016 and they still hurt a lot sometimes). I'm worried because I'm not sure if I'm going to be physically able to like dance around and do crazy stuff like that. It sucks that the first challenge is something I can't physically.

I'm just hoping even if I don't do the best in the challenge that I can kind of make some strong social ties so I'm not the first one out if we lose. I feel really good about Alyssa, Luke, and Jake right now. My strategy is always just to be in everyones good graces. If nobody wants me out, I won't leave, that's the goal.

I was finally able to get part of my submissions from my challenge submitted and I plan on doing more tomorrow. I have been speaking with most of my tribe mates and I'm liking them a lot. I did get a bit of a late start so I'm worried some alliances might have formed but, it's all part of the game. I have good relations with Shea and Jake and I hope to further relations with Miguel and Federico so I have some solid foundations to work with and so I can hopefully have some numbers in case we go to tribal. I'm also proud of myself for going on camera multiple times for the video portion of the challenge as it was something I would have never considered doing in past orgs I have played.

I'm not the best with confessionals, but I'll try my best! I'm quite enjoying these people so far, and I've really connected well with Zach, Jess, Ally, Karthik and Tim. That being said, I don't wanna really worry about allies just yet, winning is the first priority.

So me and the tribe are getting along pretty well! The challenge is going ok so far but I still want to try and win! It seems as if we lose its Karthik.. but who knows!! Its time for fun pals and gals.

Talking with Luke about not wanting to go to tribal first but I’m low key channeling Aubrey and would love to solidify an alliance as early as possible, which tribals help with.

I'm sad that we lost although I expected to lose and I'm actually quite glad that Karthik got sent to the basement. This means they are safe without me having to campaign for them. The person with the 2nd lowest score, Timmy, should be on the chopping block to my knowledge. I'm lowkey ok with this bc he doesnt contribute much to convos…

Ahh this game has been amazing for me so far! We won the immunity challenge so I won’t have to vote anyone out! I have made genuine connections with many people in the tribe and I got kind of separate deals with, Stephen, Federico, Shea and Luke so I think they have my back. I have also talked a lot with TJ and Jake but no deal or alliance have been made with them. But as a group I don’t have like a group of allies yet just 1 on 1 alliances. In case we lose I would try to vote out either Isaac or Alyssa.

First day is over, and I can't be more relieved. I love the fact that I cannot be the first voted out, and even more, I love that I feel as if I've made some good connections so far. I really think Alyssa and I will be able to work well together. Yes, we have some stuff to work out from before, but I want it to work out such that we can work together throughout this game. I really like Federico and LH, and I'm hoping things stay this way for the time being. I'd like to keep winning, but when that time comes that we lose, I need to be ready.

Other than Tim the other people I'm vibing with so far are my two Canadian QUEENS: Zach and Aly. Aly seems like she can pop-off at any second but so far she seems like someone I can work with going forward. Zach on the other hand needs to STOP BRINGING UP GUYANA. For some reason he's praising me which NORMALLY I'D LOVE because I don't think the words: Jess, Praise, and Guyana have ever been said....but he's putting a target on my back.

Other than my Canucks... I really like Stephen but he's intro SCARES ME. He seems like he's going to cause some chaos down the line...

Well we just lost the challenge ;( I’m hinestlg not feeling too safe at the moment. I was one of the lower scoring players on the tribe, and the lowest was sent to the basement. Right now I feel like a sitting duck. But on the bright side, I think I made a decent connection with Zach and Timmy. So I’m just gonna talk around find out a vote. If it’s not me yay! If it is, then I’ll just have to somehow fight my way through it :p

Woooo first confessional!! I'm liking the start of this game, and I've decided to take it a bit lighter than past games. I'm here to have fun. This doesn't mean I'm not ready to strategize, but maybe the lighter tone will help me not fall under the same mistakes I always make.

So I've gotten a chance to talk with most of the people on my tribe. Right now, my closest ally is probably Karth. We have an established history of working well together, and right now, were searching for the idol together. I'm also pretty close with Ally and Zach, and trying to get closer with Jess, though I can't tell if she thinks I'm too gamebotty or not. Ally, Zach, and Jess also seem to have some kind of relationship with each other. Idk if it's an alliance but it's something. In light of this, I'm going to be trying to get closer with Tim, Dan and Liam. I think Tim and Liam know Jess though so that might be a hurdle I need to deal with. Someone I've left out of this discussion is Timmy. I've talked with every voter so far except Dan, and they all seem okay with letting him go. There's always paranoia that they're all just playing me, but I really doubt it is gonna be the case here. My biggest worry now is what position I'll end up in if we keep losing challenges.

HELLO. Okay so we won the Selfie Scavenger Hunt which is GOOD. Someone I don’t know got sent to isolation for the other tribe but that’s fine. TJ and I were kind of on the same page of sending Jess to keep her safe which is good that we are!! She’ll be fine though because she did the best in the selfie scavenger hunt, unsurprisingly. Haven’t really talked game with anyone besides TJ because there’s hasn’t yet been a need to, but I’ve been having personal conversations with most of my tribe! Isaac just messaged me today which I think is the last one. But yeah! Things are going okay! Woo!

So me and Jess are officially aligned! I shared my idol grid with her and we talked about our tribemates. I really haven't connected with everyone but I have at least talked to them. It appears as if the vote will be Timmy unless someone magically pulls out the idol and plays it on him or the vote somehow flips on to someone else. The scary part is that Timmy is being quiet asf.... and I have no idea what is up his sleeve. The basement twist is gonna be really scary next round if we lose and someone can be sent back to the basement twice in a row…

I came into this game, saw Shea, and had an absolute fucking breakdown djdhdjdj. Like who am I? I need to get it together and push in the challenges because I didn’t help with the first one at all because seeing Shea just did something to me? Like? I’m going to try to put more effort in moving forward but right now I feel like Aubry in Kaoh Rong when she had that attack, hopefully I can recover as well as she did.

I'm ready to punch a bitch. I have no idea what is happening with this tribal and I just hope it's not me. I keep hearing about the "majority" and people want to vote with the "majority" but nobody is saying who it is and what it is just that they don't want to be the one to say a name. So I'm being forced to say Liam because that's easier than Stephen even though Stephen was the one saying my name, but honestly it is what it is, I haven't spoken to Liam so I don't care that much. I just don't get why people play if they're just going to hide behind someone else because that's so stupid, like just play for you. I'm not just saying that because they're going against me, but like where has Liam been and also Stephen is the most vocal right now and he is going to be a problem later on, I can already tell.
