This is not the space to talk about it properly but I just really like how flawed she is‚ #but also in a way that results funny and endearing. And I love love love how much she cares about her family and is loyal to it!!! #It makes her so noble and virtuous. I know she has so little screentime but really the way she's so harsh and in apparence self-absorbed– #But in reality so kind and altruistic... The way her hearsh ways are implied to be only a consequence of a life of struggles and her will– #to save her family's name through a noble behavior and appearance too... It makes her so complex and multilayered imo #AND just how her innate tendency to defend people spans out of her family too!!!! #In my interpretation she did NOT care for Hawthorne or like him. But she still gave her life for him because she just instinctively– #protects the people around her. I don't have any strong feelings for haw/mitch but like how to blame Hawthorne I would have– #fallen for her right that istant too. #Now to Akutagawa. I'm really endeared by this episode because I'm pretty sure that's when I started sympathizing with / liking him :') #Like that's the moment when the things Dark Era showed us and the canon Akutagawa behavior click together and the watcher goes “Oh. Okay going back through LU and a particular panel stood out to me.

Dont get me wrong, Im not saying this is definite evidence that we'll get some canon coverage of Hyrule's curse, but I do think it's neat that Jojo included Hyrule's reaction to the possibility of some of his own monsters showing up through a portal. There's also a possibility that Hyrule just happened to be the one to react.

man, I would love to see more toxic/unhealthy/abusive ships in the whump community that aren’t just black and white. like, give me relationships that are messy. give me ones that start out consensual, happy even, and gradually go downhill

give me toxic codependency, give me mutual destruction, give me manipulation and gaslighting, and give me the frog in the boiling water with a whumpee who either doesn't realize or realizes to late that this isn't actually what they want but by the time they want out whumper has their claws in so deep it's nearly impossible

just, overall, give me more nuance. give me gray areas, and antiheroes, or straight up villain protagonists. sweet, meek, good-guy whumpees and ones totally brainwashed to be obedient and 'love' their whumpers are fine, but I would love to see more of the messy side of bad relationships trotted out

give me whumpees who come out the other side meaner, angrier, carrying bad habits they picked up from their whumpers, give them things to unlearn, to struggle with. give me survivors who fought tooth and nail and did what they had to do to get out, but carry guilt because does doing something to survive justify the hurt they caused?

hell, give me survivors who walked into bad things willingly, who made a deal with the devil, who know that the world isn't going to forgive them for the shit they did just because they suffered for it too

And I got to talk about some old shows that i used to watch when i was young with someone in my group who also watched it and I took my sketchbook with me and i got to draw and we had to write stuff for school but I did basically the bare minimum and its not like the teachers can like take us back there sooo all of us are going to get full credit as long as you turn it in which I did and then now I'm home and Spider-Man across the spider verse is out now so i can watch it now but my dad hasn't even watched the first one so we're trying to set that up now

the problem with desiderata is that there are a million different roads to rome.

i keep writing different scenes, many of which are like alternate versions of where it goes. like scenes on parallel tracks instead of sequentially in order, diverging too much to be converged into a single narrative but all starting from that same point, and all reflecting the same theme and build but in different ways.

half of what i’ve written of the final sections is going to end up on the cutting room floor out of sheer necessity. it’s such a fun writing excercise when i’m not in my head about it but also i’m so sorry this fic is taking so long to finish. it’s just because it’s too enjoyable to write (when i’m in the headspace for it) and there are just so many ways to write it.

He can feign normalcy. He can hide his monstrosity. She can't. She can't turn back into a normal mobian during the day like he can. She's stuck in her monstrous form and suffers every day because of it. She doesn't get any real normalcy

It's not like Sonic actually has it any better. He's still sick, just like they are. And there are times where his condition becomes obvious, when the sun sets and he forcefully transforms. But it never stopped him from being a hero, from having friends, from being loved by the world, from living the life they wished they could have

And maybe she resented him for it. Just a little

Here's some lore headcanon thing that's been running around in my mind:

A lot of people assume Arsay must have something up with her forehead since she is always wearing a head piece that covers it (the lore bearing ribbon for example),when in reality, it's a habit of dress she picked up from her aunt (read: adoptive mom)!

As a young child Arsay would not so sneakily try to emulate Emrara, which involved sticking feathers in her hair, piercing her ears, reading arcanist books, and tying any fabric she could around her head... pretty standard "kid playing pretend as their role model" behavior. At some point headbands became the go to association with "cool adventurer gear" for her. Of course when she grew up some, her wearing a headband became less of a "I wanna be cool too!" and more of a sentimental "this is something that ties us together."; especially now that she's been gone from home for so long.

I think if she ever walks into the rising stones NOT wearing a headband/headband-like piece of gear she will have every scion individually making some kind of "who's cat is this?" joke.
