Pearl
Alcina Dimitrescu x (established) female mermaid reader
Bela, Cassandra and Daniela Dimitrescu
Karl Heisenberg
Summary: Heisenberg has a sea faring gift for Lady Dimitrescu.
Warnings/tags: backstory, being captured, wholesome family vacation, established mermaid, love at first sight type beat, i also *didn’t* take a scene right out of a certain 1984 mermaid movie either, nudity, language
A/n: Mermaid lore: you have legs when you’re out of the water, you’re also naked when you step out of the water, one drop of water gives you your tail back, your scales are connected from your tail breaking off in a V shape to cover your breasts, you have some scales on your forehead, hands, arms (they vanish when you’re out of the water as well)
PS: If this does well I’ll do a follow up where you take Alcina into the cove for some alone time ;)
t/c= your mermaid tail color
*Backstory*
“Alcina! Open up...c’mon! I have a present for you!” Heisenberg said as he banged on the castle doors. You continued to beat on the glass of your tank that was being pulled on the back of a cart. Even if you did manage to break the glass what could you do? Your human legs weren’t very strong so you would maybe make it down to the main gates, if that. You had been peacefully swimming through the village canal to get back to the ocean when you had been caught in the toughest net you had ever encountered. You had a knife tied around your waist at all times for occasions such as this, but this time it did no good. You had been pulled onto a boat where a very tall, scruffy man with circular sunglasses had peered at you through the net. “Oh huh ho! I know exactly what I’m going to do with you,” he had mused. You had then been tossed into the tank you were now in and pulled up a rough mountain path to this giant castle. You recollections were broken by the front doors swinging open. You jolted to the back corner of your tank, hiding behind your hair. Strangely your fear somewhat subsided when you saw the extremely tall, not to mention, breathtaking, women emerging from the castle. There wasn’t a doubt in your mind that she wasn’t human...a vampire perhaps?
“What do you want Heisenberg!?” she had barked, her voice was so silky even though it was saturated with annoyance.
“TA-DA!” Eh? Waddaya think?” Heisenberg said as he waved jazz hands at your tank.
“Oh...oh my,” the woman had gasped brining a hand up to her chest in shock.
“Wow! I’ve rendered my bratty sister speechless...never thought I would see the day,” the man named Heisenberg practically sang. The woman had then came up next to your tank, bending down so she could gaze at you. Again, against your every instinct, you pushed your hair out of the way, and swam from the corner where you had been cowering to where the lady’s face was. Her eyes were a golden yellow color, her skin pale as a moonlit shore, her lips a deep red, her hair as black as the ocean at night and you were entranced. As you stared at her she stared back, you flicked your t/c tail causing a flash of color across the woman’s face.
“Heisenberg ,I-I simply don’t know what to say,” the woman had stated, “her tail is such a gorgeous color, her eyes, her hair...” the women had stopped a slight blush creeping onto her cheeks. She stood up clearing her throat.
“WHAT HO?! Is my sister smitten with her new mermaid pet?” Heisenberg teased causing the women to glower at him. That was a terrifying sight you had to admit.
“N-no! Of course I’m in awe, she’s a mermaid for crying out loud, it’s not like everyone has one in their home,” the woman defended and your heart sank a little. “Besides, the girls with simple adore her.”
“Ssoooo, do you want me to take her to the lake or what?” Heisenberg asked taking the reigns of the horses pulling the cart.
“Not right at this moment. I want my girls to see her first, I’m sure she will hide the moment she’s put in our lake,” the women said and you could have sworn you saw a disappointed expression flash over her face. “BELA, DANIELA, CAASSANDRAAA, COME NOW!” A moment passed before a large swarm of insects appeared startling you back into your corner. Out of this swarm three girls appeared. “Daughters, look at what your uncle has brought us,” the woman said as they turned to look at you. Now, their faces frightened you. The three girls let out screeches as the rushed over pressing their faces into the glass.
“I can’t get a good look at her mother!”
“It’s because your ugly mug is scaring her!”
“Shut up you both are scaring her!” The girls continued to argue as your curled up into an even tighter ball your t/c tail glistening in the sunlight.
“Ooohhh her tail is so so pretty...I wish we could see that face!”
“GIRLS ENOUGH!” the woman boomed causing the girls to silence themselves immediately. “Since she will be living in our lake I’m sure...eventually, you will all get to see her face,” the women sighed. The girls obeyed, backing away from the tank. “Thank you Karl, this was a most generous gift....let’s take her to the lake now. Girls, go back to what you were doing, I don’t want her frightened anymore,” she finished glancing your way as you cautiously peeked from behind your hair. The girls swarmed away looking very unhappy.
Before Heisenberg tugged on the reigns, the woman lifted the top off of the tank placing it upright in the cart. Heisenberg clicked his tongue and the horses began walking. The woman walked in tandum with your tank, glancing down every step or two. After a few moments, you swam out of your corner breaking the surface of the water resting your arms on the side of the tank looking up at your new...owner? Master? Ugh! You were excited at the prospect of being around this absolute goddess but you absolutely loathed the idea of being someone’s property even if it was hers. The woman’s face softened when you looked up at her and you couldn’t help but blush.
“I do apologize for my daughters, they can be a little...enthusiastic,” the woman said wringing her hands together. You nodded in response, not quite ready to speak yet. “I assure you that you won’t be treated as my property. Think of yourself as...a well...a...um,” the women thought but it was obvious she couldn’t think of anything other than “property” or “pet”.
“Look, I know what this may seem like, and what I’m trying to say is that you won’t be hurt or made to feel frightened, you’ll be so cared for and wait until you see the size of our lake. It’s so very deep as well,” the woman struggled again. You did find it endearing how she was trying to appease you and show you some kind of respect which you appreciated. You still didn’t like the prospect of belonging to someone and even less, never tasting ocean water again. “Whatever you need, it shall be given to you, just say the word,” the woman continued seeing the unchanging expression on your face.
“For fuck’s sake Alcina, I didn’t bring her to you so you could freak out about whether she likes you or not,” Heisenberg sneered.
“Shut up Karl!” the woman, who was named Alcina, snapped startling you causing you to dive back into your tank. As magnificent as this women was the thought of never being in the ocean again, never seeing your oceanic friends, never riding the waves...broke your heart. You turned away from Alcina, hiding behind your hair again as you started to cry.
The carriage suddenly stopped causing you to turn over. Before you stood a serene lake of shining clear water, lined with the surrounding forest, a low dock extending about twenty feet out onto the lake, an array of colorful pebbles littered what you could see of the bottom as the gentle waves shimmered red in the setting sun. Alcina and Heisenberg removed the back latch of the cart so they could tilt the tank. You rode the rush of water down into your new home. Your t/c tail made several hard propulsions so you were about thirty feet away from them. You remained a foot under the water watching them.
“I’ll leave you to it, any refunds just let me know and I’ll get her out of the lake and back in the ocean,” Heisenberg said as he mounted the cart snapping the reigns. It was just the two of you now. You remained where you were as you watched Alcina. Her eyes were so piercing. She took a few steps until she reached the dock. She walked the length of it until she was kneeling at the edge making her now ten feet from you. She removed one of her black gloves and extended it into the water. You appraised her for a moment before swimming up to her hand, your head breaking the water. You didn’t take her hand but instead looked up at her.
“Look, I know this lake pales in comparison to the ocean, and i-if” her voice cracked, “you want to leave, please let me know, I don’t want to keep such a....magnificent creature against her will, even I’m not that cruel...so just...” Alcina was stopped when you took her large hand in yours. You examined it for a moment, tracing along her fingers bewitched by the sheer size difference. You stopped your motions, looking up at Alcina, still holding onto her hand and you said,
“This lake...it’s beautiful. It’s so clear and unpolluted, I’ve only ever seen water like that where humans are barely present, filthy creatures, ruining the oceans,” you spat. “I’m sure I’ll be happy here, not as happy as I would be in my true home, but I think I can find some happiness here,” you said looking into those golden eyes when you said “happiness.” “Perhaps,” you continued not breaking eye contact with the woman, “if we were to develop trust between the two of us, you could allow me to swim in the ocean from time to time.” Alcina squeezed your hand as her face relaxed a little bit still holding sadness on the edges.
“I think we could manage that....OH! How incredibly rude of me I haven’t even introduced myself to you. I am Alcina Dimitrescu, vampire lord to Mother Miranda.” She explained to you. You were right, she was a vampire. She flipped her hand over so your palms were flush. She took a moment tracing the scales on your hands before asking “And what may I ask is your name?”
“Y/n. No last name, or fancy titles, just y/n,” you said with a shiver as she continued to caress your scales.
“Such a fitting name for a such a beauty,” Lady Dimitrescu whispered. You felt a heat rise in your chest at the compliment. “I’ll leave you to get acquainted with your new home now. Unitl then y/n,” Lady Dimitrescu said squeezing your hand one last time before walking back down the dock. She turned and waved at you before you returned the wave flipping backwards as elegantly as you could waving your t/c tail in the last shreds of sunlight. Alcina gasped at the magical sight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As your time in the lake progressed Lady Dimitrescu took remarkable care of you. As much as you hated to admit it you were entranced with your lake home. Lady Dimitrescu would visit you almost every day, either sitting on the dock or having her bargeman set her out in a boat. You would lean on the edge of the boat arms folded, head resting on your arms as you two would talk for hours on end getting to know each other. Eventually her daughters would start accompanying here when she would visit you. After a time you grew to adore her wild girls and any fear you had felt for them was now relinquished. One thing the Dimitrescus loved about you was your haunting mermaid voice. They adored listening to you sing. They also loved watching you swim, your t/c tail shimmering as you glided through the water, jumping and leaping out of the water splashing the girls and the lady as you did so. Eventually the girls wanted to learn how to swim seeing as they didn’t know how. You taught them as best as a mermaid could teach someone with legs. They caught on quickly though and soon were swimming with you in the deepest parts of the lake. In return, the girls and Alcina taught you how to better use your human legs and soon enough you were running through the castle with them.
Over time, Lady Dimitrescu and you formed a deep bond, but there was something more just under the surface that neither of you would admit. Until the day Alcina and the girls planned on taking you to the ocean. It was at this point where you, the girls and Lady Dimitrescu knew you wouldn’t try to swim away or escape seeing how deeply attached you were to them and they to you. The Dimitrescu women had grown fiercely protective of you and wanted to make sure no one would try to steal their beloved mermaid from them. The plan was to trek through the village, down the forest path that lead to a beach and therefore the ocean. Since you were very seasoned now with your legs it shouldn’t have been an issue. The five of you walked through the village, you being careful to avoid any kind of water because all it took was one drop. Unfortunately for you a horse and cart carrying barrels of water had an upset splitting you away from Alcina and girls. You had laid there helpless as your t/c tail flapped on the ground of the village square.
“Look, a mermaid !” you heard a man yell and you were immediately surrounded. Those poor fools...forgetting just exactly WHO the mermaid was traveling with. The girls sprang into action scything every single person within ten feet of you.
“GET AWAY FROM HER!”
“YOU FUCKED UP TODAY MISTER!”
“HANDS OFF SHE’S OURS!”
The commotion was much too much for you. The apex of the incident happened when one man had grabbed you, lifting you off of the ground. You let out an otherworldly shriek which had alerted Alcina who had then picked up the man ripping him in half with her bare hands. The man’s blood and innards had gushed onto you making everyone who was making a grab for you scatter. Lady Dimitrescu and the girls had quickly whisked you away, rinsing you off in the castle courtyard not wanting to pollute your lake. You had thrashed and cried as the girls washed the filth off of your t/c tail as you wept into Alcina’s neck as she held you tightly. You had lamented that you were never going to feel your ocean’s embrace ever again. Lady Dimitrescu had then taken you down to the lake and two of you sat on the shore, your tail in the water next to her feet. Your raw seafood spread was extra delicious that evening as Alcina had taken her dinner with you.
“Thank you for saving me, the girls too,” you had said swallowing a piece of tuna.
“I hope we didn’t scare you with our methods but we have a reputation to uphold and when that filthy rat grabbed you I just...lost control,” Lady Dimitrescu had said stroking your hair. Lady Dimitrescu fretted afraid she had gone to far, scaring you like she said she never would.
“No no, I thought it was quite remarkable, after the fact,” you let out a laugh. Alcina chuckled.
“Of course my dear y/n, you’re apart of this family now,” Alcina said, looking down at you lifting your chin up so you were looking at her. You placed your scaled hands onto hers kissing her knuckles gently. Alcina swallowed thickly. “And apart of my heart,” she whispered her eyes asking you a question you already had the answer to.
“As you are apart of mine,” you whispered back. “Kiss me...please.” Lady Dimitrescu leaned down, keeping her hand under your chin as you took her face in your hands. And that is how Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters took a mermaid into their family.
*Present Day*
“Girls, I won’t know what to pack if I don’t know where we could possibly be going,” you sighed looking at your suitcase as the girls giggled. This was the first time since the incident in the village that you were leaving the safety of your lake and the castle.
“Then it wouldn’t be a surprise if we told you silly!” Bela had chastised.
“What are the Dimitrescu ladies planning?” you asked amusement dancing in your voice.
“You’ll seeee,” Cassandra chimed in.
“Enough questions now y/n, you’ll see when we get there, and besides if we keep talking to you I know one of us will slip up and then mother will simply kill us,” Daniela finished leading her sisters out of the room. You laughed as you continued to pack for all weather and terrain options.
“All ready ladies!?” Karl had asked as he loaded the last of the luggage onto the cart behind the Dimitrescu carriage. The five of you exited the castle your hand in Alcina’s.
“Hello Karl, good to see you!” you waved as you all piled into the carriage. “I don’t suppose you’re going to tell me where exactly we are going?” Heisenberg shook his head in response.
“I hope you’ve finally forgiven me for capturing you and handing you over to my monster of a sister,” Heisenberg laughed looking at you and Alcina, clearly glowing in hopeless love with each other, causing you to laugh and Alcina to snarl.
“I think I can finally forgive you,” you chuckled giving him a peck on his cheek.
“Hot dog! Better watch out sis’ I think she wants me,” Heisenberg teased making you and girls scream with laugher.
“You’re lucky you’re Mother Miranda’s favorite or you would be six feet under by now,” Alcina growled clearly unamused.
“Hey hey, I’m the reason you two love fishies met in the first place,” Heisenberg defended hopping up onto the driver’s seat avoiding a slap from Alcina.
The carriage ride was uneventful as you wondered where you all could possibly be going together. All the carriage curtains were shut tight so as not to give anything away. After some time your nostrils flared and Alcina noticed. Your legs began twitching and you looked up at your beloved.  “Are w-we?” you choked tears forming in your eyes. Alcina smiled lovingly at you and so did the girls before Bela pushed the carriage curtains aside and there it was....your ocean. The carriage had left the forest trail that led down to the very secluded and secret Dimitrescu ocean manor (this being a completely different path you had planned on taking the day of the incident.) It was situated on a small hill surrounded by sea grass and sand dunes. There was a pier with a large boat attached to it with the Dimitrescu crest on the bow. You could see a rocky outcropping that more than likely led to a secluded cove. You completely and utterly lost your mind. You screamed and bounced in your seat. You hugged Alcina and the girls tears pouring down your face.
“Is she ok in there?!” Heisenberg called from the driver’s seat.
You were vibrating as the carriage made it’s way down the path that led to the house. You were scratching at the door like a dog desperate to be let outside. The second the carriage stopped moving you exploded from it making a dash to the water. Alcina and the girls followed behind wanting to see your reaction when you first touched the water.
“It’s ok! I got ALL of the bags, don’t worry about me,” grumbled Heisenberg as he began unloading the luggage. You ran at full speed ripping your clothes off not caring who saw you. Your legs hit the water as you dove into the waves. Your tail propelled you until you were a little ways off from the shore. You simply floated as you deeply inhaled the salt water. Your t/c tail gently swayed in the current, your hair floated around you as you watched the sunlight glimmer under the water. You were filled with such a joy that you hadn’t felt since you first kissed Alcina that you bucked your tail lifting you out of the water so high in a perfectly arched breach. Lady Dimitrescu and the girls watched as you splashed in the waves, your tail flipping in and out of the water as you screamed in pure happiness. Their hearts swelled seeing their mermaid so happy.
“Come on my doves. Let’s help your poor uncle and leave y/n to have some time to herself,” Alcina said as she and the girls headed back to the house.
It was late afternoon before you had finally settled your excitement and were just swimming up and down the coastline. You swam into the rocky outcropping where, like you had predicted, there was cove with a hole at the top to let the sunlight and moonlight in. You collected shells and any other treasures you could find for Alcina, the girls and Heisenberg as you swam. The only thing that reeled you back in was the sudden hunger that overcame you and you figured you’d head back.
“Good luck trying to get her out for lunch,” Heisenberg had said as he, Alcina and girls stood on the beach trying to catch a glimpse of your t/c tail so they could all eat lunch.
“Y/n!” Alcina called and as if on cue your head broke the waves. You waved at the party on the beach and they waved back. “Time for lunch!” Alcina announced holding a towel and clean clothes in her hands. You nodded as you dove under the water swimming back to shore. The girls and Heisenberg had already started making their way back to the house when you arrived at the shore. Alcina scooped you up into her arms drying you off and laying kisses all over you. “How’s the water my pearl?” Alcina cooed as your tail was replaced with legs.
“I can’t describe it, oh my ocean, my ho-, it’s all so wonderful Alcina! Thank you! Thank you so much for this!” you fawned kissing her back hoping she didn’t take offense. The ocean was your home, that wasn’t a lie, but your new home was with the Dimitrescus and in your lake which they had name Perla (pearl in Romanian.)
“Of course my pearl, anything you for,” Alcina said her face falling every so slightly. She put you down so you could slip into your clothes.
“I didn’t mean that Alci, what I said earlier. Please don’t be upset but the ocean was my first home but you’re my home now with the girls and my Perla. And as much I as miss it I would miss you even more. I would miss the girls more and even Heisenberg believe it or not.Please-” you were silenced by Alcina kissing you.
“I know draga mea. You didn’t upset me and please don’t hesitate to call the ocean your home because it is. We can come here now as often as you’d like now. It’s secluded and no one would DARE come here. You’re safe here. Our trust remember?” You smiled up at her kissing her again.
“Thank you Alcina, I don’t even know what to say, I-I, I love you so much,” you choked out.
“And I love you too,” Alcina hummed scooping you up in her arms.
The six of you had lunch on the upper balcony the ocean breeze blowing through your hair as you added small shells to it. The girls examined their treasures you had found for them. Alcina had already placed hers on her vanity and Heisenberg kept his in his trusty leather pouch.
“Can I have some shells in my hair?” Bela asked.
“Of course you can my dear,” you smiled.
“Hey I want shells too!” Cassandra and Daniela said.
“You can all have shells in your hair I’ll just have to get more is all,” you chuckled.
After lunch you, Alcina and the girls went swimming with you while a very tired Heisenberg napped in the hammock outside.
They went in as far as Lady Dimitrescu’s chest while the girls held onto her shoulders and arms. You circled around them flicking your tail in and out of the water.
“Can you take us for rides now please y/n? And look for shells?” the girls asked.
“Of course we can!” you said happily taking Cassandra off of Alcina’s arm as she wrapped her arms around your neck so her front was flush to your back. “Deep breath,” you said as you dove under the water. You swam fast as Cassandra clung to you. You knew she was smiling. The girls adored when you would take them for “rides.” Cassandra’s hand tapped your shoulder indicting she needed air. You breached the surface as Cassandra gasped for air.
“See any shells?” you asked as you looked down at the sandy bottom.
“There!” she said pointing. You dove down to where Cassandra’s hand pointed as she reached out and plucked the shell from the bottom. She grabbed a handful of smaller shells that were just the right size to be woven into her and sister’s hair. After you two were done collecting shells you headed back to where Alcina, Bela and Daniela were. Cassandra grabbed back onto her mother and put the shells in a floating wicker basket.
“My turn my turn!” Bela exclaimed jumping onto your back.
“Deep breath,” you told her as you two slipped under the water.
~~~~~~~~~~
“I’m hungry mother, when will Bela and y/n be back?” Daniela asked Alcina.
“I’m sure it will be any moment now dearest,” Alcina replied scanning the water for her daughter and lover. Something caught Lady Dimitrescu’s eye causing her brow to furrow. The water was churning but coming towards them?
“What is that mother?” Cassandra asked clutching her mother’s arm a little tighter.
“I don’t kn-,” she was cut off by a grey something leaping out of the water right next to where they stood.
“DOLPHINS!” Cassandra and Daniela squealed. A small pod of dolphins was now swimming, chattering and leaping around them.
“Look sisters! Y/n called them over! Aren’t they amazing?!” Bela called as she and y/n approached her hands filled with shells. Bela took hold of her mother’s shoulder as the four of them watched in wonder as the dolphins danced around them. You joined the dance, flipping and twirling with them. After a few minutes of this you made a chittering call to them as the pod turned in unison making their way down the coast. The girls tried to mimic the call but it just sounded like someone was being murdered. Alcina laughed with her chest. The five of you headed to shore, all eager for dinner to start. You all sat in the full windowed dining room enjoying lovely food, drink and company. The girls were rummaging through their shells picking ones to be tied into their hair.
After dessert you walked down to the beach yet again. As you undid the ties on your dress you felt a hand on your shoulder. You looked up into Alcina’s eyes.
“Yes my love?” you asked smiling up at her.
“Will you back before bed?” Alcina asked giving you a lewd smile. You laughed motioning for her to come down to your level. You gave a playful kiss.
“Of course my love,” you assured patting her cheek. Alcina sighed her eyes wandering about your face.
“You know, when I first saw you in that tank, I thought you were the most stunning creature I ever laid my eyes one,” Alcina said with such a fondness your heart swelled.
“Oh my dearest love, you have captured my heart since the moment you looked into that tank,” you sighed back as she took you in her arms holding onto you tightly. You captured her lips again before slipping out of your dress and heading to the water.
“As hypnotic as your t/c tail is....I do so love that ass of yours,” Alcina called after you smiling at you lustfully. You glanced over your shoulder dramatically placing your hand over your mouth feigning offense. You blew her a kiss before diving into the waves. Alcina watched as your entrancing tail sparkled in the moonlight before disappearing under the waves.

Oh, I have a request! How about the daughters (who love the reader very much) always taking the reader and practically stealing her every time she’s with Alcina? (Cuz we need more daughters and reader interaction 🥲) And maybe to the point of our precious big dommy mommy gettin ya know ya know jealous? ;)) HAHGSHAHAHAHA, that would be hilarious to see. Anyways, hope you’re havin’ a great time~ ✌🏻till next time!
I’m so sorry this took me so long anon! I’ve gotten more requests than I ever thought I would and I’m starting to get behind. This was a really sweet one to put together though- really enjoyed it!
Slight Gore warning for Cassandra! Nothing too detailed but it is referenced. If you don’t like it just skip her
Bela
Being the eldest sibling has made her the most level-headed of the three. After decades of ending squabbles between her younger sisters, she’s discovered the pleasures of retail therapy.
She takes great joy in popping off to neighboring villages for a few hours perusing the various aromatherapy shops.
And she takes even greater pleasure bringing you along. Dragging you, really. Even if you’re otherwise busy. Sometimes she’ll buy you a few scents or lotions that catch your eye.
She calls it “compensation for being dragged away from Mother,” but really she’s just happy to spoil you
Also loves asking you for literature recommendations. As vast as the castle’s library is, Bela had read through most of the literature over her lifetime
Is absolutely fascinated by modern day novels.
She takes you on a day-long shopping spree visiting five surrounding villages just blowing through money buying almost every book that peaks her interest
Most of your time together is spent relaxing in the library talking about your novels.
Eventually you’ve collected enough books to make an entirely new section in the library just for the two of you.
Even when cuddled up with Alcina in the library, there is simply no escaping Bela when she’s looking for recommendations or simply someone to talk to
At the end of the day, you really didn’t mind. You were more than happy to spend time with all the girls and happy they wanted to spend time with you.
You knew as annoyed as Alcina got when interrupted she found it incredibly sweet that her daughters will go out of their way to be with you
Cassandra (Cassi)
Suffers from middle child syndrome hardcore
She’s a bit too old to understand Bela’s interests, but too old to join Daniela in her delusional fantasies. So naturally, she tries to cling onto you.
At first she tries to convince you to enter the basement with her so she can show you her “Art Gallery,” but Alcina forbade it. So things between you and Cassi went quiet for awhile
Alcina says Cassandra is an artist of some sort and all her work is done in the basement
After about a month of silence Cassandra came barrelling into your private study with some kind of canvas in her hands
“I’m sorry I haven’t been around much, y/n, but I’ve been working really hard on your gift.”
You gush, “oh Cassi, you didn’t have to make me anything. That’s so sweet of you.”
She eagerly flips over the canvas to reveal her painting of a human heart.
It was beautifully detailed, the heart really jumped off the page against the black background...but something was off about it. It took a minute for you to realize it but once you did, you couldn’t stop staring. The heart was painted with blood.
You were lost for words.
“Well?” Cassi, asked with a broad smile on her face. “Do you like it?”
All you could do at first was nod you head. “Oh Cassandra, its gorgeous. You really made this?”
The girl’s eyes were rapturous. “It’s my favorite hobby! But this particular piece was my first try at observational painting. I hope I did a good job...”
“Are you kidding Cassi? It’s beautiful! I’ve never seen anything like it. Can I hang it on my wall?”
She lunges at you, wrapping you in a suffocating hug. “Thank you, y/n. I made it a heart so you know how much we love having you here with us.”
Tears were starting to prick your eyes. “I love you guys, too.”
You looked up lust long enough to see Alcina walk in your study, roll her eyes and walk right back out.
Daniela (Dani)
Being the youngest Dimitrescu definitely has its advantages and Daniela knows how to use every single one.
Gets away with absolutely everything and anything under the sun. Even things her older sisters could only dream of getting away with and it irritates them to no end.
Daniela is definitely the most daring of the three. Always pushing her boundaries with her mother and will go out of her way to annoy Alcina just for funsies.
Is comfortable (and has) appearing in your bedroom while your, erm...busy with Alcina. Literally grabs you by the arm and swoops you away in a swarm of moths giggling the entire time. You hear Alcina shouting obscenities as you’re taken away.
You’re both thoroughly embarrassed.
Daniela seems to be, just like her mother, very needy. Attention starved if you will. So of course, she’s in need of your presence every hour. Sometimes more.
And for the dumbest freaking reasons!
“Y/n come quick! Look at the birds in the garden. They’re so pretty!”
You laugh at her excitement “They’re crows, Dani. We see them every day.”
Other times she will drag you to her room and pull out her vast collection of weapons and tell you different stories associated with each one. You loved hearing how passionate Daniela was about her collection.
On a few rare occasions, she even gifted you a set of daggers, or crossbow, or whatever your favorite weapon is.
“You don’t own any y/n, which means you’re vulnerable to attacks. One day I’ll teach you how to use them.”
BONUS: Alcina being absolutely done with her girls not sharing
Late hours of the night are Alcina’s favorite time of day
She gets to relax in bed with you all to herself while shedding away all the stresses from the day.
More often than not she’ll lazily sip a glass of wine and reread her favorite novel to you while you’re nestled in her lap.
It was the only time of day she knew she had you all to herself
...usually...
One night all three of her daughters barged in your bedroom arguing who you would spend time with first. Alcina tried shouting over them to take control of the situation, but none of them were even paying her attention.
Situations like this call for drastic measures.
Alcina covered your ears and shouted at her girls from the top of her lungs. Once she knew she had their attention she reached over to the nightstand and pulled out a...spray bottle? They were about to laugh at her before she explained that the spray bottle contained holy water.
That scared them enough to make them back up a few steps. Daniela even hisssed at her, baring her fangs like a feral animal.
“I am tired of you three stealing away my y/n and I’ve reached my breaking point. This is the one time of day I’m allowed exclusive time with them and I will not have you getting in the way of that.”
You couldn’t process what was happening before you. Was Alcina really prepared to spray her own daughters with holy water just because she wouldn’t get her cuddles tonight? Really?
Daniela felt bold tonight. “As if you would actually do it. I bet that’s not even holy water.”
Alcina only arched a brow. “Well you’re more than welcome to come see for yourself, Daniela. By all means.”
The redhead was about to do just that until Bela pulled her backwards. “I guess we can wait and see y/n tomorrow. Goodnight, mother. Goodnight, y/n.”
As soon as Alcina knew they were gone she fell back onto the mattress, pulling you with her, peppering you in kisses.
“Darling,” you ask. “Is that really holy water?”
She chuckles into your neck. “No, it’s not, and they should have known that. If it were I wouldn’t have been able to hold it without it making me feel ill. But they’ll figure that out eventually and once they do they’ll be back.”
“What then?”
“Pelting them with fake silver should do the trick.”

Part 1 of my ‘House Dimitrescu’ series on Ao3. Just a little bit of fluffy comfort from our tall vampire Goddess.
Only aware of the time due to the achingly empty spot beside you on the bed - you gauged that she had been gone for a couple hours already solely based on how cool to the touch the sheets were . It was easy to get lost in the wild fever dream that was now your life. Your body still sore from the night before, tender marks from her devious mouth decorating over every inch of you - a small sliver of moonlight dancing eloquently with the dim candle light of her room as you stretched. Even if someone had asked you just how long you had been at Castle Dimitrescu, you wouldn't have a single clue what to tell them. In all honesty, you could barely remember how you had even gotten there. This goddess of a creature - her general existence - was such an all encompassing force that there was no other way you could be other than completely enveloped when in the presence of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu. Today, though, you could feel it. A deep ache in your chest that reminded you, just for a moment, that you had a life outside of this castle once. That there were a multitude of people out there who probably missed you, thought you were dead - or worse.
"Well, well.. you are certainly up quite early, my pet." The smooth tones of Alcina's voice - reminiscent of only the finest of leathers. The length of her entering the room as she looked you over, her brow slightly furrowed. "Did you not sleep well?"
You tried to remember a time that you had ever slept better than you did with that immaculate body pressed against yours, but not a single moment stood out to you. You sat up from your place on the bed, scratching over the shaved parts of your scalp as you yawned and shook your head.
"No.. I slept alright. I just feel.. I dunno.. a little.. off?" You replied, blushing slightly at the soft look of concern that skated across her face just for a moment. Her luminous eyes locking onto yours as she made her way over to the bed.
Fuck... just the way she walks sometimes.... You swallowed hard, always immediately disarmed by the sheer presence of her. Muddled ivory skin, perfectly imperfect in every way - rising and falling with each breath that Alcina took. The width of her glorious thighs spreading out deliciously as she took a seat next to you on the bed. Allowing her eyes to rake over you once more, the Dimitrescu matriarch cleared her throat before she spoke.
"So tell me, my sweet." She paused, moving in a little closer. Her strong pheromones wafting through the air as the full length of her frame leaned over you. "Just what has you so down on this night of nights."
You took a deep breath before trying to explain what you were feeling. You knew you should be happy - ecstatic, even - the night you would officially become a member of the House of Dimitrescu finally upon you - but you still couldn't help the deep ache you felt in your chest whenever you thought of home. Doing your best to hold back the tears that were burning for release, Alcina placed her hand on your thighs. Her eyes softer than usual as she listened to your worries. How was it even possible that this incredible, but inherently murderous woman, didn't suck you dry on the spot. Instead, she only listened. The deep tones of her hair shimmering slightly in that all too familiar stream of moonlight as your words began to taper off - voice cracking slightly as they did.
"I understand quite well, my pet, and though this is not something I would normally do - you are free to go, if you wish."
Your eyes shot up at her words, taken back by her generous offer. Everyone who had grown up in this area, knew all too well that the Dimitrescu family never let anyone escape from the Castle - but the way her eyes seemed to sift through your very soul as you held her gaze, was a feeling of home that you had never quite felt. Before you're able to stop yourself, you bring your hand to her jaw, cupping as much of it as you could. A look of surprise painted it's way across her sharp eyes before it settled into something softer - warmer.
"I have no intention of leaving here, my lady." You say with a soft smirk, slowly removing your hand from her face, the feeling of her skin remaining on your fingers long after like a charged currant.
“Such a delicious pet, aren't we?"
The devious smile that forms across that perfect face of hers, the subtle to deep lines that beautifully accentuated it. There was no other creature you had ever met that did the things to you that Alcina Dimitrescu could. Her soft satin sheets crumpling under her slightly as she shifted her body even closer to you. The tip of her hat looming over you like a safety net. Wrapping one strong arm around you, the gorgeous vampire pulled you up onto her lap and flush against her - your head landing right into her generous chest. FUCK .. An immediate flush spilling across your cheeks as visions from the night before played through your head, you cleared your throat before resting your head against her.
"And even more delicious when you are all flustered." Her low voice reverberating across your skin as she spoke. "Do you recall how exquisite I said you were.. when I first tasted you?"
As soon as the word 'tasted' left Alcina's perfect mouth, you could feel her heart begin to race. Your mind rapidly thinking back to the first night she drank from you. How her pupils dilated fully as your warm blood trickled down her elegant throat. That was the night your whole world had completely spun on its axis.
"Aah.. y-yeah?"
"Well, my pet.. I meant that in every sense of the word. You would make a fine addition to the House Dimitrescu." She paused, idly stroking your back with a single finger. "And.. needless to say.. I would be lying if I denied having grown quite fond of you. You will always have a home here in Castle Dimitrescu, if you so choose to have it"
You opened your mouth to speak, immediately shutting it - completely taken back by this charming women's words. *Okay, but she can’t just say things like that* ... With all conscious thought quickly leaving your body, you take the chance to snuggle into her a little closer, her other arm swiftly coming around you to meet the other. Her strong embrace instantly making you feel safer - calmer. You couldn't help but wonder if there had been another soul that she had ever allowed to see her in such a way - with most of her walls receded and an openness that was downright disarming. She sat there with you for a minute longer - allowing you both to linger in the warmth of the moment - before releasing you from her embrace - the lack of her warmth immediately noticeable - causing you to shiver.
"Now.. There are much preparations to be done, my pet. Shall we dress and head down to the girls?" She asked.
Your eyes locking onto her - the length of her gorgeous body rising from the bed as she straightened out her dress in one fluid movement. Seriously! How is she this hot? You gave her a small nod, hopping down from the bed. The specially tailored suit - complete with asymmetrical skirt - waiting for you exactly where you left it in the closet. The Dimitrescu crest proudly embroidered on the front of it.
"Oh.. and.. Alcina?"
"Yes, my pet?" She replied, stopping just short of crouching under the door frame.
".... Thank you "
She gave you a warm smile. "Of course, dear.. just keep in mind that I do have a reputation to uphold. It would be a pity if people knew I had begun to go… soft."
"Heh.. don't worry, my lady. Your secret is safe with me." You smirked.
"It had better be."
Her firm tone immediately sent a lightning bolt straight through your body. Fuck, this women is going to be the death of me, you think to yourself, your fingers skating over the soft materials of your outfit, but oh, what a fucking way to go.

"Fuck, Al, I think I'm gonna cum. Again." You moaned, Alcina letting out a small chuckle at your words.
Alcina pressed her nose into your neck. "Again, you say?" She murmured into your neck as you fucked yourself on her cock. "Maybe we should take a break after this one, yes?"
"Mhmm," You agreed, biting your lip as your orgasm began building up. "Alcina, please, I'm so close. Please, please. Please bite me." You begged.
Alcina placed her hands on your hips as she slammed into you. "Not. Right. Now." You started whining nonsense at her. "Shush, draga mea. Now cum for me." Alcina grunted out as she pressed kisses to your neck, then your jaw, before finally claiming your lips in a heated kiss as your orgasm washed over you. The moans that you allowed her mouth to swallow sending her over the edge with you.
You smiled at her when the two of you finally broke the kiss. "So this is our life for a day and a half? Fucking the life out of each other?" You gave her another kiss before climbing off her. You let out a small sigh as you stretched, hissing at how sore you were. "Miranda wouldn't happen to have a shower here, would she?" You asked as you paced around slightly.
Alcina hummed. "Just the emergency chemical shower, I think." Alcina replied. "Perhaps we can take one together, save some time?" Alcina suggested as she got off the bed.
You looked at her with watery eyes. "I changed my mind. Does she have a bath here?" You asked. Alcina nodded her head. "Good. Can we... can we just relax for a moment? Together, I mean."
"Of course, darling." Alcina replied as she pulled you in for a hug. "We can do that. And we can end the ceremony right after, if you want."
You shook your head. "No, no, there's only a few hours left. I just... I just need a moment." You murmured into her stomach. Alcina nodded her head and picked you up, taking you into an adjoining room. When the bath was filled, she lowered you in before getting in behind you. You sighed as you leaned against her chest. "Alci, I'm scared." You said quietly after a few moments.
“What’s got you scared, love?” Alcina asked. She pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “Is it the ceremony?”
You nodded your head. “A bit.” You replied. “And something else.” Alcina pressed small kisses to your neck as you continued speaking. “There was this woman, this old woman. And she, well she… Alcina, please,” You whined.
“I’m sorry, darling.” Alcina apologised, pressed one more kiss to your forehead. “Continue.”
“Thank you.” You replied. You’d managed to calm yourself down to be able to speak once more. “The woman, she told me that Miranda was going to take our child.” The words made you feel sick. “If the baby is fit to be a vessel for her dead daughter, she’s going to take our baby from us. And I can’t….. Alcina, I can’t let her, I won’t let her.”
Alcina stayed quiet as she mulled your words over. “If that’s how it’s to be, draga mea, then who are we to deny Mother Miranda something that will benefit her?” Alcina asked.
You went stiff against her. “You can’t be serious, Alcina.” You said as you pushed yourself away from her to look at her. “Are you fucking kidding me? You’d just give our baby to her without question?”
“If it’s what she wants, yes.” Alcina replied.
You scoffed at her in disbelief. “And what about what I want, Alcina? Does what I want not matter? Does it not hold a fucking candle to Miranda and whatever the fuck she’s going to do with my child?” You asked. “This ceremony, it’s over. I cannot and will not be a part of some experiment to produce the perfect vessel for her dead daughter. I thought you cared about me, but now I know exactly where your loyalty lies.” You stood up from the bath.
“Darling, please, it’s… not here, we’ll talk about it at the castle.” You nodded your head as Alcina exited that bath with you, pulling you into her as she kneeled down to be level with you. “We can’t truly discuss this here. Miranda has eyes and ears everywhere, but when I said my family comes first, I meant that. And I promise you that no harm will befall our little one.” Alcina whispered into your ear.
You melted into her embrace. “Do you truly mean that? You won’t… you won’t go back on your promise?” You asked as you clung to her.
Alcina nodded her head as she picked you up and carried you back to the bed, putting you down gently before kissing you. “I promise with my whole heart that I won’t let her harm you.” She pressed kisses down your body until she got to your belly button. “Or you, little one. Mama’s going to keep you safe, you have my word.”
You let out a soft laugh as she pressed kisses all over your belly, your fingers finding her hair. You let out a soft moan as Alcina’s kisses got closer and closer to your sex. “Alci,” Alcina hummed as she breathed in your scent, her mouth watering. “Alcina, please,”
Alcina pressed the flat of her tongue against you before swiping up. “You taste so marvellous, my love.” Alcina whispered against you. You let out a whine when she crawled back up your body, giving you more kisses before she finally reached your face. “Te iubesc.”
You smiled at her before cupping her cheeks and kissing her. “I love you too.”
***
“I hate you, I hate you, I hate you!” You screamed.
Daniela looked over at Alcina. “Mother, is Y/N alright?” Daniela asked.
“They’re fine.” Alcina said, patting her daughter’s hand reassuringly. “I think. I’ll go check on them. You tell your sisters that dinner will be ready in a bit.” Daniela swarmed off at her Mother’s instructions. “Darling, are you alright? Daniela’s a bit worried about you.”
“That bitch called.” Alcina raised her eyebrow. “Miranda, she called. She wants to… she wants to see how we’re doing, how the baby is doing.” You placed your hand over our belly, protectively.“I don’t want her here, Alcina.”
Alcina sighed. “There really is nothing I can do to stop her from coming to the castle, my love.” Alcina replied as she walked over to you. “It’s been two months since the last time she was over here and Mother Miranda assured me that she didn’t want to use our baby as her vessel, the thought never even crossed her mind.”
“But she could’ve been lying to you, Alcina. Lying to me.” You sighed as you leaned into her. “I don’t trust her, I can’t.” You shook your head with a small sniffle. Alcina leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“Alright. I’ll delay Miranda’s visit to the castle as long as I can, but she will have to see the baby at some point. To make sure it’s healthy.” Alcina said.
“I know, I know, but… Can’t Donna do it? I trust her.” You replied.
“Donna can do some things, but there are…other things that Miranda will need to do when examining the child that Donna can not.” Alcina responded. “Just one examination, dear, that’s all she has to do until the baby is born. Is that okay with you?”
You frowned. “Just the one?” Alcina nodded her head and you sighed. “If it’s only the one. And you have to promise to stay in the room, please.” You grabbed her hand and squeezed it.
“Of course, darling. And Donna can do the rest of the examinations and then Miranda will do the one after our little one is here. Sound like a plan, my love?” Alcina asked. You nodded your head, not trusting your words. “Good, good. Now, dinner is almost ready and I’m sure the girls are bickering like they always are when I’m not around. Shall we?” Alcina offered you her hand and you took it.
“You really don’t think Miranda will take the baby once it’s born? Or during the examination?” You asked as she led you to the dining room.
“Darling, listen. I’ll say it as many times as I have to, I won’t let anything happen to our child. And I’m sure the girls would say the same things. Right, girls?” Alcina asked as the two of you entered the room. The two of you got a chorus of “Yes, of course, Mother,” from them and it made you smile a bit. “There’s that gorgeous smile of yours, my love. I promise, our baby is safe and nothing will happen.”
You let out a deep breath, nodding your head. “I’m sure you’re right.” You said.
Dinner went by quickly and soon you found yourself in Alcina’s study, sitting in her lap. “The old woman mentioned something else.” You said softly as you played with Alcina’s curls. She hummed. “Mentioned that if the baby wasn’t to Miranda’s standards that a few years from now, she’d find her perfect vessel.”
“Hmm, is that so?” Alcina asked. You nodded your head. “Then we really have nothing to worry about, yes? I doubt a baby born into the Dimitrescu family will serve as a perfect vessel. I mean, I was a… failure of her experimentations. As were Karl, Donna, and Salvatore.” Alcina replied as she did some paperwork. You opened your mouth to reply, but Alcina spoke again first. “That’s enough talk of this for right now. You need your rest, as does our child. You’re free to fall asleep right here, but if you’d be more comfortable in the room, I can have Helena take you to our chambers." Alcina suggested.
You shook your head. "No, I want to stay with you. You can carry me to the room once you've finished here." You said as you snuggled into her. Alcina chuckled, but pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
"Very bold of you to assume that I would do such a thing, little one." Alcina teased. When you didn't respond, Alcina noted that your breathing had started to even out indicating that you were asleep. "Sweet dreams, iubirea mea." Alcina whispered before pressing a kiss to your forehead.

PART 1
Heisenberg x reader
So... that thing I said I was going to do like a century ago (a couple of months but whose counting?)... it’s here... Heisenberg has werewolf like powers... when he is introduced pov switches to him sporadically. I didn’t have the patience to mark when it changes to him... Dress shown was found on facebook, creator is Firefly Path, go check out their stuff, its gorgeous.
Warnings: smut. Nothing too wild. Sex... ummm a great deal of biting/marking... fingering. Thats... about it tbh...
Let me know if you want to be tagged for the next parts... may also do some Leon Kennedy pieces as well...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It had been an interesting first few months living here in this small village. I had moved here to help my aging grandfather who lived alone. His health had been declining for quite some time, and he had reached out to family to see if anyone would be able to help him through what he believed to be his last winter.
My family had made up excuses and refused to help. I, on the other hand, had just finished college and had no other plans, so I packed up my bags and made my way to Romania. The look of pure joy he had on his face when I showed up at his front door made it well worth the trip to the village in the middle of nowhere.
My grandfather collected scrap metal for the local factory and to help the villagers, building reinforced walls and the like. It was through this, the two of us found a common bond; I liked to create small mechanical toys and tinker with robotics. I helped lug around the larger pieces of scrapped metal that the two us would find together.
As thanks, he had a local seamstress make me a cloak to wear. It was a long floor length cloak, made of a thick and warm material, in the brightest shade of red. It had earned me a nickname of ‘Red’ around the village.
Soon enough, winter had passed, and it was springtime. Though I had originally agreed to stay until winter had ended, I had decided to continue my stay. I didn’t feel right just leaving him; it felt like I was abandoning him.
So, I started to make little mechanical toys as gifts for the children in the village and helped maintain the electronics and cars the villagers owned.
It was a typical morning a few days after the first spring rains, and I noticed that the villagers were all in a hustle.
“Grandfather? Why is everyone in a tizzy?” I questioned as the two of us took our routine morning stroll around the town.
“I forget you were not raised here. Tonight, is the night of the Lords. Mother Miranda and the Four Lords that rule over this village will be coming down. It is one of our festivals to celebrate them and thank them for protecting us. The lords also choose members of the village to come work for them. It is a great honor to be chosen by them,” My grandfather explained.
“Oh. I see. Who are these four lords then? I assume that one of them owns the factory you send scrap to?” I inquired.
Though I had lived here for a few months, I did not know much about the village. I knew not to be in the forest at night, for many reasons. One of which was because of the monsters that lurk there. I knew there was a church that the villagers frequented as well, but never participated in the ceremonies due to not wanting to intrude.
“Indeed. There is Mother Miranda, a goddess who performs miracles, and protects the village from the monsters that prowl out in the woods. Then there is Lady Dimitrescu, she’s the one who lives in that large castle you see there. She has 3 daughters. She’s… peculiar. Well… all of them are. Lady Dimitrescu prefers young women to take as maids and such… though… they very rarely return. I’d rather you didn’t get on her radar,” My grandfather warned lightly.
“There is Lady Beneviento. She’s a quiet one, soft spoken. She carries a small marionette doll named Angie, who is very… lifelike. There’s Lord Moreau… who is disfigured, and not well liked among the other lords. He is also least favored among the villagers. You’ll see why. Then there is Lord Heisenberg. He is the one I work for. He is a genius in engineering. You’d like him I think,” My grandfather concluded.
My grandfather spent another hour explaining the who the Lords and Mother Miranda were to me while the two of us worked.
That was this morning.
I was currently creating a small mechanical bird that could fly for at least 10 seconds. Or at least… that’s what it was supposed to do. It kept stalling at about 6 seconds which was causing frustrations. It was a requested gift for one of the small children in the village, a young girl named Sorina.
I sighed loudly as I watched the wings stall yet again and reached out to snatch it before it fell to the ground.
“Still not working right?” My grandfather questioned.
I shook my head, quietly pocketing it into my satchel, needing a break from it.
“I’m going to go out to that area of scrap metal we found the other day. Grab some more of those larger pieces for you. I’ll be back in a little bit,” I said standing up, and stretching for a moment.
“Be back before dark and keep your wits about you in the forest, got it?” My grandfather stated firmly, waiting for my nod in understanding.
I walked out, grabbing a wagon that I could pull behind me to carry the scrap. Despite my grandfather’s warnings about monsters in the woods, I never thought much about it. If there were monsters, they never bothered me.
The area wasn’t too far into the woods, and was just a pile of large gears, pipes, and some metal sheets. I piled up the gears and pipes that I could find, and then laid the sheets on top of it.
Once it was ready to go, I began the slow trek back. As I was walking down the trail I heard a sudden yelp.
I looked around trying to find where the sound came from. I left my wagon moving toward the sound slowly. A minute later, I found the source, and it made me gasp lightly.
It was a large wolf-like beast, that was whimpering slightly as it tried to rip out a metal stake that was in its shoulder blade. Its long sharp claws, desperately scratching at its skin as it reached for it. I could see it had damaged its own skin in its attempts to get it. I gently approached him, wanting to help.
The large beast took notice of me, its eyes glowing as bright as the sun as it snarled at me.
“Shhh. Easy there. That looks like it hurts buddy. Can I help you? I promise I’m not trying to hurt you,” My voice was soft as I stopped a foot away.
He snarled again but weaker, his claws trying to grasp at the stake once more before he gave up. I moved slowly, until I was standing directly before it. The beast had lowered to laying down on his stomach and was no longer towering over me. I reached over, taking a firm grip onto the stake as I pulled it out. I tried not to remove it too quickly and cause him more pain.
The stake took a minute to fully dislodge but soon enough I had it in my hands and took a step back presenting it to the beast.
“See, that wasn’t so bad was it?” I asked him sweetly.
The beast stared up at me, his nose sniffing at the air, tilting his head lightly. It suddenly stood up, retuning to its full height, a good foot taller than mine own. I held my breath waiting for its next move, hoping it wasn’t going to eat me after all of this.
The beast leaned its head closer to mine, before doing something I was not expecting. It gently nuzzled his head against my cheek; similar to a cat head-bumping you.
I smiled softly at the action, taking a relaxing breath, as my hand reached up and patted its head. It leaned into the pats for a moment before pulling away and walking off.
I stood there for a moment trying to process what just happened.
‘Grandfather always said there were terrible creatures in this forest, but I always thought he meant like… cougars or bears. Not… werewolves?’
I eventually returned to my wagon, strolling back home in a slight daze. I had tossed the stake into the scrap pile, not thinking too much about the blood that was on my hands.
When I did get home, my grandfather was pacing in front of his house.
“Where have you been my dear? It’s less than an hour away from sunset. You could have gotten lost in these parts or worse!” He exclaimed worry etched onto his face.
“I’m fine grandfa-” I began to say before being cutoff.
“Is that blood on your hands? Did you hurt yourself?” He cuts you off, taking my hands into his.
“It’s… it’s not my blood. I’ll explain when we’re inside the house,” I said lowly not wanting to catch any more attention.
Some of the neighbors were glancing over at us, trying to listen in.
The both of us stepped into his house and after washing away the blood finally, I explained what happened.
“It… it just walked away? Why… that’s… that’s unheard of! The Vârcolac never just… leave fresh prey. Oh, my dear… you must be very special indeed. Or very lucky,” My grandfather spoke in awe.
I simply shrugged not knowing what to say. I glanced around spotting a garment bag, resting on my bed.
“What’s that?” I asked my grandfather wanting to change the subject.
“That… that is something for you to wear tonight. I figured that you might not have a dress to wear for tonight’s festival, so I had Dorthea make you something,” He explained.
“Oh.. oh you didn’t have to… you shouldn’t have… you’ve already given me this beautiful cloak, I can’t possibly accept a dress too,” I didn’t know what to say.
“Yes you can. You’re my granddaughter and I am allowed to spoil you,” He stated matter-of-factly.
I looked down, trying to hide the tears of appreciation that had formed. I wasn’t used to family doting on me just cause. My parents favored my siblings who had far more successful careers. I was considered the black sheep because I wanted to work in robotics and engineering. So, I was used to not being spoiled or given gifts out of nowhere.
My grandfather smiled at me, pressing a kiss to the top of my head, before saying, “Go get ready. I’m going to head on out and help finish with the last of the preparations. I’ll see you out there.”
I nodded, standing up and walking toward my room. I had already showered that day, so I just spent a few minutes freshening up.
I took a moment to rest, before turning to the garment bag. I unzipped gasping at the beautiful dress that was revealed. The dress was white at the top, fading into a lovely pink in a soft gradient. I slipped the dress on, tightening the bodice of it with ease.
I slipped on some flats, before retying my red cloak around my shoulders. After a moment of putting on some simple makeup: some lipgloss and a bit of light eyeshadow.
Stepping outside, I followed the fellow villagers up the hill, past the graveyard and toward a large altar like area. There were four large statues that surrounded the altar. As everyone gathered around the ceremony site, it didn’t take long for the Lords to appear.
I stared in mild surprise and awe as Lady Dimitrescu appeared, I was told she was tall but didn’t believe it until I saw her, towering over everyone. She had three daughters who followed behind her, dressed in grey and giggling as they looked over the villagers.
After her was the Lady Beneviento, she was dressed in all black with a veil over her face. She held a doll dressed in a wedding that was such a stark contrast to her. The doll spoke excitedly, laughing manically every now and again.
Next was Lord Moreau, who lumbered about slowly, with a hunched back. His face appeared somewhat deformed, and she could’ve sworn his hands appeared webbed. He had a crown made of bones and stood furthest away from everyone.
The last was Lord Heisenberg, and he was definitely the most intriguing (and most human) looking. He wore a long brown trenchcoat, a wide brimmed hat covering a head of silver hair, and sunglasses. He had a large smirk on his face, as he held a cigar in his hand.
As the four lords took their seats and got settled, a murder of crows appeared in a swirl, a woman appearing in the middle of them. As the birds scattered, the woman was revealed, regal and terrifying, with large black wings herself.
She stood in the center of the altar and looked around at each of the four lords, acknowledging each with a nod.
“Welcome everyone, I am pleased to see each and every one of you here. As you well know, tonight is a special night. Tonight, my lords, my children, will choose members of this village to work for them. However, I hear we have a newcomer. Would you please step forward my dear?” Mother Miranda requested looking into the crowd.
I quietly stepped forward, making my way through the crowd. I stepped up slowly to her not quite sure what to expect.
I stood there, giving a small curtsy after a moment.
“Hello,” I quietly greeted.
“Hello my darling. You are Andrei’s grandchild yes?” Miranda confirmed.
I nodded, telling her my name, and after a moment said, “But most call me Red here.”
“What a beauty you are? You would fit in well with my staff at the Castle,” Came a sultry voice to my left.
“Noooo! Alci always get firsts pick! We want a new playmate! Won’t you come play with us?” Came a high-pitched whine and a small tug on my dress.
I looked down at the marionette that was staring up at me with a pout of sorts. I slowly crouched down to her level.
“I’m afraid I wouldn’t make a good playmate. I’ve been told I’m quite boring,” I said to the doll sweetly.
“Angie, return,” Came a soft voice.
I looked up watching her toddle back over to Lady Donna, hopping into her lap.
I smiled softly at Donna, before standing back up.
“And I’m afraid I would be a terrible maid for you Lady Dimitrescu. I am terribly clumsy, and I would never live with myself if I broke something or spilled something in your beautiful home,” I respectfully answered her.
Mother Miranda gently reached out, turning my head back toward her.
“I am happy to see you here at this festival, my dear. I hope you enjoy your evening. In an hour, my lords will be choosing their devotees. Lord Heisenberg will be the first to choose this year,” Miranda declared as she stared at me curiously.
I nodded my head returning to the crowd as the celebrations began finally. I looked around talking for a few minutes with my grandfather.
“You have caught the attention of the Lords. I’m not sure how to best help you navigate this situation, beyond not fighting or arguing over who chooses you,” my grandfather stated.
I looked around for a moment, biting my lip. I looked over at Lord Heisenberg, a small plan forming in my mind.
I excused myself from the conversation, walking over to the lord who interested me greatly.
“Lord Heisenberg? I apologize for bothering you, but I was wondering if I could pick your brain for a moment?” I quietly asked him, standing near him.
“Oh? Go on little red, ask away,” Heisenberg said with some interest.
I pulled out the little bird I had been working on.
“I was wondering if you could help me solve a problem I keep having,” I began before winding up the bird. “I can’t seem to get her to fly more than 6 seconds. Think you can help me figure out what I’m doing wrong.”
The two of them watched it fly for about for a moment before the wings stalled and it dropped. I start to reach down to pick it up when Heisenberg held a hand up to stop me.
Heisenberg waved his hand, and I watched in awe as the bird flew into his hands.
“Wha-” I began to question before stepping closer looking at his hands. ‘How did he do that?’
I watched him as he took one of the tools he wore around his neck and tapped at something inside it.
“Try her now,” Heisenberg smirked as he presented the bird to me.
I take it from him, wind it up, and watched as it finally flew for the full 10 seconds it was supposed to do.
As it landed back in my hands, I looked up at him in surprise.
“How? What was wrong?” I inquired, looking at him with wide eyes.
“There was a gear that was misaligned, just ever so slightly. With each turn of the key, it got further misaligned and caused it to stall. A simple fix, but one not easily found in such a small robotic,” Heisenberg explained.
“…I hate this bird,” I muttered softly looking down at it before placing it back inside my bag.
“It seems I owe you one, my lord. However can I repay you?” I asked him, with a small smile.
“Oh… I can think of many ways you can repay me buttercup,” Heisenberg answered flirtatiously.
“Well… when you make your decision, come find me. I’m pretty easy to spot,” I replied, swishing my coat slightly.
I turned and walked away, weaving my way through the crowd, before waltzing into the forest to get away from the noise.
Heisenberg stared after the woman, a smirk growing on his lips. The Cadou gave him not only magnetic powers but also Lycan-like features. His inner wolf was pacing up and down, howling for him to go after her. He glanced around, noting that Miranda had left for the time being, so he was able to slip away unnoticed by his darling siblings.
He ducked into the forest, following her scent, and soon spotting her bright red cloak as she made her way further away from the festival.
She came to a stop in a large field, where flowers were beginning to bloom.
“Little Red don’t you know that the forest is unsafe? Especially for pretty young women like yourself,” I hear his voice taunt.
I turned to him as he stepped forward, moving until he was just a foot away from me.
“That depends. Are you the huntsman come to save?” I began closing the distance between us. “Or the big bad wolf, come to devour me?”
I barely had time to process the low growl that came from him, before he was pulling me in even closer.
A hand grabbed ahold of my hair, jerking my head back to expose my neck. He leaned down, his lips grazing my neck softly as he took a deep breath in. He pressed a kiss here and there, his gestures growing into bites. Soft moans left my mouth as he focused on one particular spot.
He pulled away after a moment, his gloved hands moving to cup my face. He firmly pressed his lips to mine, the kiss leaving me breathless as the passion grew. I wrapped my arms around his neck, as he slowly lowered us to the ground. One of his hands began to hike up the skirt of my dress, the cool breeze brushing over my legs. He made quick work of my underwear, tearing it off in seconds.
Once the dress was bunched up around my waist, he pulled off one of his gloves, before reaching down between my legs. His thumb brushed against my clit causing me to jolt slightly in surprise, not expecting the zing of pleasure that ran up my spine. While his thumb worked at my clit, his fingers ran up and down my slit, before sliding one inside. He thrusted his finger a few times before a second one joined.
I could vaguely hear the wet sounds that were being made, but found I wasn’t embarrassed by it. Not when he stared at me so intently, a smirk permanently plastered on his face as he watched me come undone. He slowly pulled his hand away, leaving me at the brink.
I blinked harshly as I looked up at him, trying to figure out why he stopped. I could hear the clank of his buckle being done as he undid his pants. Moments later I could feel his cock sliding in with ease and a sudden fullness as he seated himself. I moaned loudly as he moved slowly, teasingly; his thrusts soft making sure I felt every inch of him. However, that soft, slow pace did not last long as he picked up the speed.
His movements became fast but precise; it doesn’t take him long to build me back up and push me over the edge. I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist as he continued his movements. I rode the high of the first orgasm as he slowly lifted one of my legs to rest over his shoulder. The new angle brought on a stronger wave of intensity and pleasure.
He leaned down, his nose brushing along my neck as he breathes in deeply. After a moment, I could feel soft bites at the juncture between my neck and shoulder. I wasn’t quite sure how much time had passed but soon enough I could feel another orgasm building and as his movements got sloppy I assumed he was getting close too.
As my sight turned blinding white as I was overwhelmed with pleasure, I felt Lord Heisenberg sharply bite my neck as he came as well. I moaned loudly, whether from pain or pleasure, I was not sure.
I was breathing heavily as his movements slowed and he hovered above me. I noticed that behind his glasses his eyes shined bright silvery grey. I slowly pulled my leg back down, letting it rest against the ground, giggling a bit as Heisenberg took a quick nip at my thigh.
He spilled his seed deep inside her; lapping lightly at the bite mark he gave her. Was it a crude way to mark her as his? Possibly. But he didn’t give a damn currently. He just knew he and his inner wolf were currently satiated.
Another thing he was sure of: he was claiming her as his own. Tall bitch and psycho doll were not putting their hands on her.
I watched as he slowly pulled away, straightening himself up before standing up. He easily leaned down and picked me up. My skirt fell back around my legs, and after shaking it out for a moment, it laid out like it was supposed to. The only thing that wasn’t going to be pleasant was making my way back home to clean up the mess between my legs.
“We should probably head back before we are missed,” I quietly state, disappointment in my voice.
Heisenberg grunt softly, making a face at the thought of going back.
“Go get cleaned up, buttercup. Then get your ass back to the ceremony site. I want you front and center,” Heisenberg ordered me, as his gaze roamed over my form unabashed.
“Yes….my lord,” I lightly teased, walking in the direction of my grandfather’s home.
I laughed at the responding growl that followed as I moved quickly. I was unsure at how much time had passed but figured I should be quick with my clean up.
I slipped inside my grandfather’s house and cleaned myself up as best as I could. I paused when I saw my neck in the mirror. There were several small red marks on my neck, but at the juncture of my neck and shoulder there was large red mark that was already beginning to bruise. I could also see a shimmer of blood from where Heisenberg broke the skin a bit.
I shook my head as I cleaned it up a bit and adjusted my cloak to hide the marks as best as I could.
Once, I was more presentable, I made my way back to the ceremony site, to see that the villagers were beginning to gather around. I made my way to the front of the crowd, gently.
“Now that everyone is here, Lord Heisenberg? Make your choice,” Mother Miranda softly commanded.
Lord Heisenberg stood up from his seat, looking around with a growing smirk. His eyes landed on mine and he pointed directly at me.
“Little red,” Heisenberg beckoned me forward.
I looked down appearing to act sheepish as I moved forward to him.
“I hear you are quite the engineer. I have use for you in my factory… that is if you think you can handle it?” He asked lowly.
I nodded my head, biting my lip, “I believe I can handle whatever you throw at me, my lord.”
“Good girl,” He whispered to her, his smirk growing.
I stood nearby him, as the other Lords chose their new workers. When the Lords were done with that, Lord Heisenberg turned toward the factory, motioning for me to follow him.
After giving me a quick tour of the factory, we fell into a quick routine together. I would spend most of my day helping him with his soldats and at night he refused to let me leave his side as we slept. We didn’t spend every night having sex, most nights he would just fall asleep and eventually curl around me in his sleep.
About 3 months had passed since that night of the festival.
Today, I made my way to gather supplies from the forest and more scrap for the soldats. Several hours had passed, and several trips were made as I cleared out a large heap. The night was falling fast as I made my way back to the factory for the last time. I heard a twig snapped in the distance and stopped short. I looked around for a moment and that was the last thing I remembered before I was knocked out.
Lord Heisenberg was sitting in the abandoned church waiting for Mother Miranda to show up. His siblings were chatting about and being annoying; he was tuning them out.
It wasn’t until he heard several howls in the distance. He looked toward the hallway, tilting his head, as he tried to figure out what got them riled up. The howls were growing in numbers, and in intensity.
“Heisenberg. Get your mutts under control!” Alcina demanded as Mother Miranda appeared.
“Shut your damn face! I-“ Heisenberg stopped as he noticed one of the Vârcolac coming in carrying something.
No. Someone.
The beast carried the body over to him and laid Red down at his feet. A couple of Lycans carried in another man, who was whimpering. As he took in the fact that Red had several open knife wounds and was bleeding profusely. The man as well was covered in blood and looked a bit beaten up. The Lycans spoke to him through their mental connection.
“We found him attacking her. We figured you wanted to do the honors in killing him for hurting our Lady.”
Heisenberg nodded his head, going to respond when he felt a hand grasp his leg. She had reached up to capture his attention.
“Hei…se…n.b.b…” She tried to speak.
“Hush my child. I will take care of you,” Came Mother Miranda’s voice. “A gift. A gift that very few have received. Heisenberg, bring her to me.”
Heisenberg feels his rage simmer quietly but doesn’t speak on it as he does as she requested. He laid her down on the stone altar and watched as Miranda presented a jar of Cadou. Heisenberg stayed nearby as he watched Miranda proceed with injecting the Cadou into Red’s body. Red’s body spasmed and seized after a moment.
Heisenberg tried not to react as he listened to her screams of pain and agony. He didn’t want the others to know he cared for her. Didn’t want them to see her as his weakness.
After several minutes, the screams lessened and turned to soft whimpers. Mother Miranda waved her hand over Red and teleported her elsewhere.
“She survived the first few minutes of the transformation. That bodes well. When she is finished transforming and reawakens, she will return to your servitude,” Miranda said dismissively.
Heisenberg retook his seat, ordering the Lycans to take the random village man to his factory, he would deal with him later.
The meeting continued on, but he hardly paid attention to what was being said. He wanted to know what that bastard did to his woman. The meeting ended, and he made his way to his factory, seething. The Lycans had roughed him up a bit, but he was still conscious enough for Heisenberg to interrogate him.
He knew one thing… the random villager was not surviving the night.

Castle Dimitrescu, Guest Room - Present Days
Two days had passed and I was still trying to process what was happening. How could my life change so drastically again? I could no longer count on my twin brother, who I considered to be my best friend, the person I trusted the most in the entire world. I was filled by the same emptiness, the same sorrow I felt when my mother died. My life was in the palm of his hands and he was letting me go.
"Relax your shoulders, love," Bela whispered softly in my ear. "You're so tense."
Bela was the only person who still made me smile in the middle of all that chaos. She was helping me to find any clues in the diaries, about Miranda and about Auryk too. But for that, we had to work really fast.
We were sneaking back in the village everyday, it wasn't safe to bring those notes to the castle where Bela's mother and sisters could easily find. I prayed the weather wouldn't change and temperatures remained high. In another case, we wouldn't be able to go to my house again and my time with Lady Dimitrescu was running out.
Meanwhile, we were also working on overcoming my intimacy issues. Being intimate without having sex yet. First, we undressed each other completely. I had to know her body and allow her to know mine. I looked at the perfection of Bela's features for a second, before I was invaded by a mix of embarrassment and discomfort. It was the first time I was seeing a woman, completely naked, in front of me.
When I looked at her again, she was gazing at my body like if she was admiring a masterpiece in an art exhibit. At first, I was shy. I blushed and crossed my arms, as if I had any reasons to hide myself. Bela smiled. In that moment I knew she was appreciating me and that made me feel better.
"You're gorgeous, aren't you?" Bela lifted up my chin, forcing me to look at her, to see it in her eyes she was being truthful on her words.
"No more than you," I gathered some courage to move forward and extend my hand, touching a little bit of her soft skin, her arms, her chest, her stomach... then I stopped.
"This is okay," she assured me. But she understood that, in that moment, it was enough for me.
We both entered the bathtub, where I positioned myself in front of Bela and allowed her to take care of me. She gently rubbed my body with a sponge, starting by my back. Then, she moved to my front, rubbing my breasts, my stomach, my tights. Though we were in silence, she seemed to understand my limits, my barriers. Noticing how stressed I looked, she decided to give me a massage. I relaxed my shoulders as she told, focusing myself completely on our moment together.
"It's my turn," I told her. "Let me take care of you?"
Bela nodded and switched positions with me. I offered her the same treatment she gave me, but I wasn't so confident, so precise. My shaking hands would often betray me and I was unsure if I was being too gentle or too rough. Yet, she seemed to be enjoying it. I gave a special attention on washing her hair, it was so beautiful, so soft. The way it barely grew on the spot around her scar was a sin. I hated Miranda even more for that.
She rested her head against my chest as I continued to massage her scalp.
"Does it hurt?" I softly traced her scar with my finger.
"It stings sometimes," she sighed.
"I'm sorry."
"Does it hurt?" Bela repeated my gesture, tracing the scar on my forearm.
"No," she never asked, yet I felt I should tell her how it happened. "Adrian told me he found me in the basement cutting myself, right after my mom died. But I don't remember."
"Trauma can block some painful memories."
I knew that very well. I realized how little I remembered the days after my mother's death. My last memory was seeing her mangled body being carried inside our house. Nothing else. I didn't remember her burial or if I managed to say goodbye. I couldn't remember if we had people visiting us or if I was alone with my father. Everything about those terrible days was a blur.
----------
Castle Dimitrescu, Office - Present Days
When Lady Dimitrescu called her daughters for a private meeting that morning, Bela couldn't help feeling anxious and scared. Her mother was usually a woman of her word, but when it came to her reputation with Mother Miranda, she'd become completely blind by rage. Alcina really believed her when she suggested Aleena's brother could be responsible for stealing the Lords and also for the attack to the castle, even when the evidences pointed to the opposite.
"I told you so," while they waited outside, Cassandra was smirking deviously. She was determined to do anything to annoy Bela right in the morning. "It won't well for you. Our mother can't betray Mother Miranda and the other Lords because you've fallen in love with a stupid human girl."
"Shut up," Bela decided she wouldn't give in to her provocations. It was Cassandra's favorite manner to extract information from her. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Do you think we're stupid?" Still, her sister wouldn't stop. "Everyone, except for our mother, has noticed already. Me, Daniela, even Mrs. Volkov. Tell me, Bela. Will you keep pretending when we serve her on a silver plate tonight?"
Bela advanced in her sister's direction. Cassandra quickly dissolved into flies, she did the same. The corridor was a mess of flying insects and buzzing for a few minutes, before they had to shape back into their bodies. Now, she'd finally have the chance to inflict her sister some pain. She pinned Cassandra against the wall.
"Stop, you two," Daniela tried to intervene. "What the hell are you doing?"
Cassandra tried to throw a punch, but Bela was a little faster on her reflects, she grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm.
"What's your problem, Cassandra?" Bela angered. "You can't stand the idea she wasn't one of your trophy maidens, isn't it? Just leave me alone. Leave her alone too."
In that moment, they heard the door opening. Lady Dimitrescu appeared in the corridor, with an ugly snarl on her face.
"What the hell is going on here?" She yelled. "I thought I had daughters, but then I come here and you two are fighting like animals."
Daniela sighed relieved. This time, she wasn't included.
"I'm sorry, mother," Cassandra straightened her dress. "It's Bela who's being a bitch."
"You started it," Bela tried to grab her hair, but she deflected. "You're insulting me from the moment I arrived."
"The three of you! In my office, now!"
Bela couldn't feel guilty this time. Something inside her had changed. She didn't care if her mother was disappointed at her behavior, absolutely no one would touch Aleena. Especially Cassandra.
"It's all about that girl, mother," the middle sister proceeded to tell Alcina. "Bela is in love with her. They've been making out around the castle all the time."
"And this is none of your goddamn business!"
"It is, when your actions are putting us all in danger! Her brother..."
"Stop!" Lady Dimitrescu shouted, making they both go silent. "Is it going to be like this anytime a new woman steps inside this castle?"
No. Not for Bela. She didn't care about other women. Cassandra could have them if she wanted, as long as she stayed away from her girlfriend.
"I agree," Cassandra continued. "It has to end. I vote that we drain her tonight."
"CASSANDRA!" Alcina punched the desk, making her stop instantly. "I didn't call you here to talk about this girl."
A part of Bela was relieved, but she when her eyes crossed with her mother's, the feeling of anxiety started growing inside her. Now she knew about her relationship with Aleena. And her sisters too. She couldn't predict how they'd react.
"I'm going to another meeting with Mother Miranda tonight. I expect to find this castle intact when I return. If I discover my daughters are fighting in my absence, I'll be truly disappointed."
"Yes, mother," Daniela said. "No one is going to fight anymore. Right?"
Cassandra rolled her eyes at the youngest sister. Bela only gave her an annoyed look.
So that was the reason of their visit to Lady Dimitrescu's office. For now, Aleena was safe. They still had a few days to gather information about Mother Miranda and whatever she was planning. Bela was about to leave after her sisters when her mother called her back. She froze.
"Bela, you stay. We need to talk."
"Yes, mother?" She sat in front of her mother again.
"What were you and Cassandra fighting about?"
"I-I... uh, it's true. I'm in love with Aleena."
Bela decided it was time to stop lying. After all her mother was the person she trusted the most in this world, besides Aleena. Lady Dimitrescu stared at her face emotionless. Bela couldn't figure out what she could be thinking. She looked down, avoiding her mother's intense gaze.
"It's different this time," she explained. Although Alcina never bothered when they got involved with women, she hated the mess it usually caused. Sometimes Cassandra would slaughter her partners in her bedroom or some other place too hard to be cleaned. Daniela fell in love too easily, always having her heart broken when she discovered the subject of her affection was only using her to escape the castle and the fate every servant usually had. In this process, a lot of other things would break too. Such as the castle's furniture and the servant's bones. "I'm doing things right. I even asked her to be my girlfriend."
Bela wouldn't get involved with women so often as her sisters, but when she did, it surely never ended well. They'd become disappointed when they found out she didn't reciprocate their feelings. There would be a lot of arguing, tears and some of them would even dare to call her mother for a talk. In the end, they always died anyways.
She had never been in love before. Until now.
"Girlfriend?!" Lady Dimitrescu eyes widened in surprise and she inhaled deeply, closing her eyes. Bela finally knew what what her mother should be thinking about. The woman she once loved. "Oh Bela..."
"She makes me happy, mother. Like I've never been before."
"And this is exactly what concerns me, daughter. You know how it ends."
"It doesn't have to end that way. I'm controlling my instincts very well and..."
"But she's human and young. She's going to study abroad, meet new people who are just like her. Then, she'll forget you ever existed."
That was the one thing Bela had accepted since the moment she decided to kiss Aleena. Soon, they'd be saying goodbye and there would be nothing left for her, only the memories. Yet, it was worthy. Every moment by Aleena's side was precious.
"I know that," she assured Lady Dimitrescu. "Mother, the only thing I want is your word you're letting her go by the end of this week. Whatever her brother did, Aleena's innocent."
"Okay, daughter," her mother's hand touched hers. The corners of her mouth curled up in a small smile. "I promise you. As long as you promise me you and Cassandra will stop fighting."
"Okay, I'll ignore her provocations. I promise."
"You know your sister, Bela. Cassandra is very attached to our family. She's only jealous most of your attention is being dedicated to Aleena."
"Yeah, I know."
Bela held her mother's hand and smiled back at her.
"Girlfriend..." she was still muttering to herself and shaking her head in denial as Bela stood up and started to walk away. "Well, I suppose there were worse options."
As she opened the office's door, ready to leave, Alcina spoke:
"Bela, take care."
"I will."
----------
Castle Dimitrescu, Guest Room - Present Days
I asked my breakfast to be served in my room. Going to the dining room all by myself was pointless, as Bela and her sisters were reunited with their mother in her office. I wondered what they could be discussing. Was it about me or Auryk?
Anyways, our time was running out. I only had until the end of the week to prove my brother's innocence and expose Miranda's betrayal against the Four Lords. There was only one problem, if Auryk wasn't stealing from the Lords, he wasn't involved in something good either. The manner he spoke to me on the phone, it seemed dangerous and secretive.
And there was Bela. Everytime I remembered the page I ripped off from those diaries I'd feel my chest tightening a little bit. I wouldn't let my brother, and whoever he was working for, lay a finger on her. From the moment I arrived, she was nothing but sweet to me. She always did everything to protect me and I was willing to do the same.
Mrs. Volkov entered the room, bringing a tray of food. She locked the door behind her.
"Ms. Novak, I'd like to speak to you in private for a moment," she asked.
I nodded in agreement.
"I couldn't help noticing Ms. Bela coming and leaving this room very often lately."
"Yes," now I could understand why Cassandra was always threatening the staff with her knifes. Even if Mrs. Volkov was trying to protect me, what I did inside my room was none of her business. I feared she'd tell Alcina. "We're working on a personal issue of mine. And I'd appreciate if this information stays between us only."
"My mouth is shut, Ms. Novak. I only beg you to be careful, I've seen many girls like you going missing or being dragged to the dungeons after getting involved with the mistress' daughters."
Of course she had to remind me of the fact my girlfriend probably has had enough partners to fill both sides of a book page.
"Thank you for your concern."
And of course she had to run right into 'Ms. Bela' as she opened the door to leave.
"Mrs. Volkov," she greeted, polite as she always was. Sometimes I wondered if Bela was so well mannered even when she was killing her victims. "Is there anything wrong?"
"Everything's fine, Ms. Bela. I was only serving Ms. Novak her breakfast."
"Thank you. I suppose we're good for now. I call you if we need anything else."
Bela shut the door, immediately forcing the woman to go away. I asked her to lock it, just in case.
"Good morning, love," she sat by my side at the table and pressed a kiss on my cheek. "I hope you saved me some because I'm starving."
"Hey, didn't you just have breakfast with your mom?"
"Not actually, I refused it. I was waiting to have breakfast with you, like we do every morning."
She smiled, causing butterflies in my stomach.
"Aren't you sweet?" I was kinda expecting her to come. I even asked Mrs. Volkov for an extra cup and plate. I passed it to Bela. "I was hoping you'd come."
I retributed her kiss.
"So, what are doing today?" She wanted to know. "Are we coming back to your house? Or would you like to do something different?"
"I wish, but we have to finish reading the diaries. I only have a few days left before your mom decides what she wants to do to me."
"I spoke to her. She's letting you go by the end of the week."
"Is she?" I asked, to be sure.
Bela nodded in response.
I should be happy with the information, Lady Dimitrescu wasn't going to kill me after all. But I wasn't. I was expecting her to protest and keep me as a prisoner for weeks, months, maybe years as it seemed Auryk wasn't coming back. I wanted to be stuck in that castle for the rest of my life, as long as I had Bela by my side.
"She has a meeting with Mother Miranda tonight," she added. "She usually doesn't come back until the morning. We should do something special."
"Like what?"
"Like a date?"
The concept of having a date was a little bit difficult when you lived in a village that wasn't even in the maps Your options were very limited: going to the nearest town, going to the pub or do something at home. The first two options could not end well as we'd be going too far from the castle or if any villagers recognized Bela.
We could stay in my house and order some food, there was this restaurant in town that would deliver even in that hellhole of a place. We could also watch movies and make out on the couch.
Maybe more. I was desperate for more. Especially now I knew we'd be separated soon. I wanted to enjoy every second of your moments together. Yet, I was insecure. I couldn't help thinking of Mrs. Volkov comment regarding Bela's level of experience.
"I think I have something in mind," I grabbed Bela's hand. "Ready?"
----------
Eastern Europe, Aleena's House - Present Days
We rod to the village as were doing every day. I was always concerned some other villager could see me and recognize me. At this point, everybody should know about what happened to me. They'd instantly connect the dots if they saw Bela. When we arrived to my house again, I was relieved. Almost. Until I saw the front door had been forced open.
"Oh fuck," I quickly took my daggers before taking another step into the house. "Somebody broke into my house. They may still be in there."
Bela took some kind of blade from her boots too.
"What? I have my tricks too, love." She asked, noticing I was surprised. "Cassandra isn't the only good hunter."
We carefully opened the door. Before I could even do anything, Bela grabbed me and covered my mouth. Her senses were probably detecting something nearby.
"Shhhh," she pointed to her ears. "I can hear something... in the basement."
"But not all of us are vampires," I muttered. When I noticed, Bela had already vanished, turning into flies. I followed her to the basement, after grabbing a rifle. Before I even got there, I already heard a male voice screaming.
"What the fuck?! What are you freaks even doing here?!"
I recognized it before I could even see the figure. But I waited until I was downstairs to confront him.
"Heisenberg. I could ask you the same," I spoke, pointing the rifle at him even if I knew it was useless. "What are you doing here?"
"You," he turned around from the hidden cabinet where the weapons were stored. "Weren't you trapped at Lady Super Sized Bitch's castle?"
"Have some respect talking about my mother," Bela shaped back into her body. "Not that she has any talking about you. So I guess you both are even."
"Oh great, and you brought one of the daughters with you. At least it's the decent one."
"Are you going to explain what you're doing in my house?" I angered. There was a good reason of why that man was there again. Coincidentally when he had a meeting with Miranda later that day. "Let me guess. You're searching for something to take to the Highest Bitch In Charge tonight. Am I right?"
"Wait, wait..." Heisenberg showed his hand as a sign of truce. I lowered the rifle. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Are you searching for something to take to Mother Miranda in the meeting tonight? Because many things are going missing, under mysterious circumstances that are strangely connected to her."
"Do you think Mother Miranda is the one stealing from the Lords?"
I told him about my conversation with Auryk and his suspicions about Miranda's involvement in the situation.
"I knew it!" Heisenberg kicked away an old wooden chair, shattering it to pieces. I shot Bela a confused glance but she also had no idea of what was going on. "I fucking knew it! She's been plotting against us. I always warned my siblings this day would come but they never believed me."
"We're searching for evidence against her," I explained. "To find out what's her plan. Do you have any ideas?"
"Are you sure you can trust her?" He pointed at Bela. "Her mother is the one who kisses Miranda's ass the most. After Moreau, of course."
"Absolutely," I told. "Bela's with me on the matter."
"Sit down, the two of you, and I'll tell you what I know."
We sat on the armchairs we had down the basement. Heisenberg pulled a bottle of whiskey from one of Adrian's secret hideouts. He was about to take a sip directly from the bottle, but I made him serve all of us. Something told me I'd need alcohol to deal with that conversation.
"All these years serving her and we're only her tests subjects, girl. We were all declared a failure upon bitch Miranda's eyes. Me, Lady Super Sized Bitch, the Moronic Freak, the Ugly-Ass Psycho Doll and even this..." Bela scowled at him, letting him know she wouldn't appreciate any offensive nicknames he could have for her, "this girl and her sisters. We're trapped in this village, being forced to decades of humiliation and servitude."
"Are you telling me you don't worship Miranda like your siblings and the villagers?" I tried to understand.
"No!" Heisenberg shouted. "Can't you see? She has taken everything from me. My humanity, my dignity! And now she has found the perfect vessel for her experiments, she's planning to get rid of us."
I drank the entire cup of whiskey in one sip. I looked at Bela, I could see that deep down she shared the same feelings for Miranda as Heisenberg. She tried to follow me, but judging by her face, she wasn't used to that kind of drink.
"I know what it feels like," she took off her helmet, showing the scar on her head and also the tattoo. "I also hate how she treats my mother and she's always too blind to see it. Whenever she returns from a meeting, I can read it on her face. She's disappointed at herself. She's miserable. She's always feeling she isn't enough for Mother Miranda's purposes."
"Fuck! This is what I'm talking about! Look what she's done to you. Don't you think it's time we end this?"
"Okay," I interrupted their moment of mutual pain. "She really fucked up with you guys, so we need to find a manner to stop whatever she's planning."
"Your father," Heisenberg pointed to me. "That bastard also shared my feelings of revenge and hate against that bitch, but for some reason he never accepted to join forces. I knew he had some diaries that contained some important information, do you happen to know where they are?"
Before I could answer, Bela stepped in and spoke for me.
"This is what we've been searching for," she lied. She looked at me, giving me a signal we shouldn't trust Heisenberg completely yet. "Apparently, Aleena's brother has taken it with him."
"And where's the little criminal?"
"I don't know," I said. "Last time we spoke he was acting shady as fuck. Whatever he's involved with, it's not good."
"Hmmm, drugs probably."
"No! I'm pretty sure my brother isn't... what's a vessel, by the way? You said Miranda has found a perfect one for her experiments."
"A person who can achieve a perfect mutation," it was Bela who answered my question. "One without any flaws, any side effects. Unlike me, the Lords or any person that has turned into a Lycan."
"Exactly," Heisenberg added. "One with a body that will be able to revive her daughter."
"What the fuck..." I always knew Miranda was crazy, but not at that point. All those years, she had been misleading the villagers, the Lords only for her personal uses. "And who's this person? Where are they?"
"I don't know, kid. This is what I'm trying to find. If I destroy the vessel, there will be no ritual. And with the right proof in hands I can lead a rebellion against Miranda."
"You can count on me," I extended my hand to Heisenberg. "If I discover anything, I let you know."
"Smart girl," he shook my hand. "You'll have my full support if you need to escape that demonic castle."
"She doesn't!" Bela angered. "Mother is letting her go."
"Okay. If you need anything else then..." Heisenberg shrugged. Then he looked at Bela. "What about you, little Dimitrescu girl? Can we count on you?"
"Of course," she also extended her hand. "But you can't comment a word about this meeting with my mother tonight. She trusts Miranda above anything, she's going to blow up our plans."
----------
Eastern Europe, Aleena's Bedroom - Present Days
While Aleena was taking a shower, Bela caught herself reading the diaries they found. Such a skilled predator should be proud of her achievements. The reports about her family were gruesome, terrifying, tragic. They were called many things, 'witches', 'monsters', 'abominations'...
"Psychotic bitches," definitely the most creative, a name given by Adrian Novak. Bela never had a personal encounter with Aleena's father, but she had definitely heard nasty stories about him, through Lady Dimitrescu and through Aleena herself. She thought of an appropriate nickname for him too and smirked. "Stupid manthing."
She closed the diary and walked to the mirror. Aleena told her to wear one of her clothes. She looked like a normal girl, one of Aleena's age, maybe two or three years older.
If it wasn't for that scar. That damn scar. When she woke up after the transformation, one of the first things she did was asking her mother how she had gotten it. Was it the reason she died? Later, she found out it was the reason why she was still alive. Something had been implanted in her brain, to transform her into... that. What about that tattoo? Young people had tattoos everywhere but certainly not on their foreheads. She was marked as one of the Dimitrescu daughters. Wherever she went, people would recognize her by that. Especially in the village. Countless times she and her sisters had caused panic among those people.
This was why Aleena couldn't take her out for a date. She couldn't take her to the pub, to meet her friends and do other things couples usually did. Bela clenched her fists in rage and frustration.
"Hey," Aleena left the bathroom, wrapped around a towel. "Sorry for taking so long. You look amazing, by the way."
Before heading to her wardrobe, she passed through Bela and planted a small kiss on her lips. She could live like that forever.
In fact, if the weather suddenly changed and the temperature dropped by the next day, she'd be stuck with Aleena in that house for days, months or even years. She could cook and clean the house while she was out for work. She could even find a manner to earn some money herself. She could be an artist and sell paintings. Or maybe a writer, she was a good one. Maybe she even had money already, after all she was the Countess' eldest daughter.
The idea excited Bela a lot... until she looked at Aleena's desk. If she was stuck in that house with her, she'd be giving up on her dreams of living in California and study in that Art Institute. And Aleena deserved that. More than any person she ever met.
It wouldn't last and she knew it. She always knew it.
"Selfish psychotic bitch," she muttered to herself as she stared at her reflection in the mirror.
----------
Eastern Europe, Aleena's Living Room - Present Days
I couldn't take my mind off my conversation with Heisenberg. I didn't even know how I was supposed to feel. I already hated Miranda before, but now I got the confirmation of the things Bela told me. She was nothing more than an experiment gone wrong and that woman was about to get rid of her and the others. I also thought about Alcina and Donna, who had no idea of what she was planning and trusted her blindly.
I also wondered, who was her perfect vessel? Was it someone from the village? Was it someone she had kidnapped? A million questions were going through my mind.
As soon as I finished getting dressed, Bela had sunk into one of her bad moods, where she became quiet and introspective, after acting normal all day. I already knew her enough to know something happened while I was in the shower and it was consuming her inside. Because as her own mother described, Bela felt everything very intensely.
"Would you like to go back to the castle?" We were in the living room, waiting for our dinner to be delivered. "We can go after dinner if you want."
"No," she said. I had turned on Auryk's video game console. Bela was quite curious about the game I was playing. Her eyes moved quickly as she observed every detail on the screen. "Not yet."
"Do you need to feed?"
"No, I'm okay."
I paused the game. Whatever happened, nothing seemed to distract Bela from it. She was quiet as in the morning she fought her mom or that night in her bedroom, before we kissed for the first time.
"Okay... why don't you tell me what happened? I left you alone in my room for some minutes and now you're upset."
Bela took a deep breath, as if she was trying to recompose herself and leave her emotions aside for the night.
"I'm not upset, love," she told me. "I'm focused."
"On what?" I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
"If you don't move to the left side, like this," Bela took the controller from my hands, unpausing the game and making a move herself. "You're going to get yourself killed."
And she was right. Apparently her vampire senses worked for literally anything.
"Know what?" I turned off the console. "I'm done with this for the night. I already know I wouldn't be able to beat you if we played against each other anyways."
"What a sore loser," Bela finally let out a laugh. Mission accomplished, I was able to get her out of her bad mood.
"We'll see about that later."
"Will we?"
She lay on top of me, staring deeply into my eyes in an attempt to look dangerous. She pressed her lips against mine and I wrapped my arms around her body pulling her as closer as possible. Bela deepened the kiss, sliding her tongue inside my mouth. The way her tongue massaged mine, the way our bodies were moving together, the way my hands were exploring every inch of her perfect body... I was feeling things I had never experienced before. A heat that spread through every part of me. She finished her kiss biting my lower lip, leaving me stunned, breathless.
"I'm sorry, I got too carried away," she said, when we stopped. "We're almost setting ourselves on fire here."
"No, I want more," as I gazed into her beautiful golden yellow eyes, I couldn't be more sure. "I want us to burn."
Bela raised one eyebrow suggestively, as if she was trying to confirm what I had just told her. I let out a small laugh and nodded in confirmation.
"Then..." she pressed another kiss on my lips, "we should head back to your bedroom. Don't you think?"
I was about to give her an answer when the door bell rang. It was the delivery service bringing our dinner.
"Fuck, I had totally forgotten," I took a deep breath, trying to recompose myself.
"We can resume from where stopped later, if you want."
----------
I wanted it. I definitely wanted it, but I was too nervous for my own sake. If I didn't calm down, I'd end up ruining things. I remembered the night I invited a girl I was dating to my house. Even after having a lot of alcohol to calm my nerves and get me in the mood, I panicked. I panicked and locked myself in the bathroom until she went away. Needless to say she never wanted to see me again.
To try to distract myself, after dinner I sat down on my desk, reading carefully a page of the diary in front of me. The calligraphy was barely readable. Apparently that one belonged to my grandfather, Erik Novak, during his teenage years.
"March 13, 1962
The Lycan attacks have intensified during these days. It's almost impossible to even leave the house. My poor sister, Astrid, has been attacked while she was outside tending for the animals. We don't expect her to survive. The infection has spread to her whole body. Father suggested we put an end to her misery. Mother is still hoping for a miracle. We called Mother Miranda for guidance."
I felt a shiver going down my spine. It was almost like I could watch that scene playing in my mind, like a movie. I held the picture of Astrid, her beautiful dark hair and soft facial features. Such a terrible fate she was victim of. Why did my family still insisted on living in that goddamn place for generations after such a tragedy?
"Okay, I finally picked one," Bela emerged in my bedroom. She was in the living room, too amazed by my Netflix account. With so many movie options in front of her, she didn't know where to start. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing," I closed the diary. "I was just reading an entry while you chose. My grandfather's sister, she was bitten by a Lycan."
"It seems to happen quite often in your family. One of the diaries I read also reported a Lycan attack."
"It's like a family curse. In my generation, it was my mom. But in her case, there was not even time to develop an infection."
Family drama. Nothing related to the clues we were searching for. I decided to not think about anything else related to that village, Auryk or even Miranda for the next few hours. I wanted to enjoy my time with Bela, exclusively.
"So, let's see what you chose, Ms. Dimitrescu."
For my surprise, Bela had picked a Disney movie. I thought it was extremely cute, I was kinda expecting her to choose something classical or even an horror movie.
"Do you like this one?" She asked.
"I love it," I wrapped an arm around her shoulders as we sat down on the couch. "And I'll love it even more now it's the first movie we watch together."
I didn't make any interruptions as we watched the movie. Bela seemed so entertained, so genuinely happy. I remembered she probably had never seen a movie before. I didn't see any TVs inside the castle. If they even had one, they didn't have access to Netflix or any other modern features. I simply enjoyed the sensation of having her in my arms or the sensation of caressing her hair. I learned to appreciate the sound of her laugh more than anything in this world. When we met, I'd rarely hear it and now it was something she did often.
The world was easier when we were alone, just the two of us. Two lonely, misfit and traumatized individuals. Bela seemed to be the only person who understood my feelings, and I was this person for her too.
When the first movie ended, I asked if she wanted to see another one. She told me to choose this time and I picked a romance. With a happy ending.
God, we deserved to have a happy ending too. We both had gone through so much already. I had to stop Miranda. I couldn't let her take Bela from me.
----------
Eastern Europe, Aleena's Bedroom - Present Days
It was already two in the morning when we returned to my bedroom.
"Are you sure your mother isn't going to freak out or anything?" I asked as we prepared the bed. "Cassandra is definitely going to tell her. If she gets mad the claws will come out to play and it's kinda scary."
"As long as the dragon remains inside, we're okay," the corners of Bela's mouth curled up in a smile.
"Dragon?!"
"Nevermind, it's a joke. A myth the villagers invented. Don't worry, I don't think she's going to mind. I told her about us this morning and she took it very well."
"This is quite a surprise."
We lay on the bed and my heart started thundering inside my chest. I wasn't sure if she remembered what we started before dinner and that I had intentions of resuming later.
"I wish we could have this everyday," she spoke softly, when we were face to face. "This is the reason why I was upset."
"Why does it upsets you?" I asked.
"While I was here alone, I kinda wished the temperature would drop and I'd be stuck here with you for a while. Then I realized I was being selfish."
"You're not selfish. To be honest, I kinda wished the same. I don't wanna go away. I want to stay with you, forever."
Bela took my hand, holding it very tightly for a few seconds and then, she released.
"You can't, Aleena. You don't deserve this life, in this place. You deserve more. You deserve to go after your dreams, move to California, go to college, be with a girl that actually deserves you."
"I don't want another girl, Bela. I want you. I want you the way you are, with your virtues and also your flaws. That's what made me fall in love with you."
I'd usually let her take the lead, but this time I kissed her, hard and desperate. I didn't want to think about the idea of being away from her. Or being with somebody else. Even if we couldn't be outside most of the time. Even if I had to work on the pub for the rest of my life. Even if she needed to drink human blood. I didn't mind if my friends or my brother never accepted my relationship with her. In that moment, I had everything I ever wanted and I wouldn't waste it. I couldn't wish for anything else.
When I realized, I felt her hand going down my shirt, caressing my stomach.
"Do you still want to do this?" She asked.
"More than anything."
I knew Bela had probably done that a thousand times before, but I wondered if she was always so tender, so careful. She knew that was an important moment to me, I was letting down the last of my emotional barriers for her, so she acted cautiously on every move she made next.
First, she kissed me again for a very long time. I assumed she was giving me enough time to think if I was truly prepared. Then, her mouth placed a trail of kisses for all the way down to my neck.
We undressed each other, Bela lay on top of me and as she kissed me again, I couldn't stop thinking how good it was the feeling of having her naked body so close to mine. This time, I felt confident enough to explore parts of her I wasn't prepared the last time.
"What?" I asked when we parted and she gazed deeply into my eyes. "Am I doing it wrong?"
"I have something to confess, love," she opened a beautiful smile. "I'm a little nervous too."
"Come on. Mrs. Volkov was scolding me this morning, telling me I was only one of the many women she saw leaving your bedroom."
"Yes, but it's the first time I do it with a woman I'm in love with."
It was my turn to smile. With my hand on her chest, I sensed how quick her heart was beating too.
"Well," I whispered seductively in her ear, "she's very in love with you too. So you don't have to be nervous."
"Just tell me if you want me to stop, okay?"
I nodded in agreement and pulled her face for another kiss. As Bela's hands traveled through my body, caressing my inner tights, I was shivering in anticipation. By the time she touched me where I wanted her the most, my first reaction was to shudder.
"How does that feel?" She wanted to know. "Do you like it, love?"
"Yes!" I threw my head back as her fingers continued to stroke my center. "Oh my god, yes. Please don't stop."
"I don't plan to. We're only getting started."
I was still nervous. I didn't know how I was supposed to act. Should I do something to please her too? Should I be silent? Because I was fighting so hard against the wild impulses inside of me, that wanted to moan and scream Bela's name as loud as I could. I buried my mouth on her collarbone trying to muffle a moan.
"This is okay," she stopped for a second, looking at me with those gorgeous eyes. "Just relax. You're being perfect."
I simply nodded in agreement. I just wanted her to continue what she was doing, but she had other plans in mind...
"What about now?" Bela inserted one finger inside me and started to move, slow and gentle. "Does it hurt?"
"N-No... this feels great..." I could barely form a coherent sentence anymore. In fact, I noticed I had stopped breathing. Yes, I could die right now and I'd die a happy woman. Was that what my father was trying to protect me from with his sick ritual? I couldn't be more happier to have broken his rules. I couldn't be more happier I waited and did exactly I was told to stay away from.
My heart was racing really fast. I felt all my muscles were starting to become tense. Bela inserted another finger inside me, moving a little bit faster and harder, but still making sure she wasn't causing me any pain.
And in that moment, I completely lost myself. My back arched and my whole body started to tremble under her body. Bela held me tightly. I relaxed too, wrapping my arms around her.
"Are you okay, love?"
"More than okay," I answered between pants. "To be honest, I think I've never felt so great before."
"Is there anything else you want me to do?"
"Yes, you can now show me how I can please you."
We switched positions and Bela guided my hand as I tried to follow the same path as she did. She also rocked her hips to meet my rhythm. I wasn't so confident as she was. I was afraid I could do anything that could hurt her. But she was a patient teacher and I was a quick learner. Soon, she was already trembling in my arms too and I knew I had done it right.
I thought we were done with the best part, but I was wrong. After pressing one final kiss on my lips, Bela rested her head on my chest and said words I'd never forget.
"I love you."

Alcina Dimitrescu/f reader
+some well meaning Chris
I also posted this on my ao3 account Homoeroticmicrowave as a part of my resident evil oneshots book the link to which is : https://archiveofourown.org/works/32351686/chapters/80202100
For context in this the reader works with Chris but got kidnapped by Alcina and ended up bonding with her
Anyway behold My dignified shit post:
Alcina tilted your head up by your chin with one of her claws with a gentle sort of care “I might just be enamoured by you my little maiden” her voice had a certain air to it as the power she carried held strong though the coldness it had been coddled by withered away.
“And I am just glad to have met someone as truly brilliant as you are you make my heart feel like it’s faltering” Alcina’s tensed muscles and rigid posture seemed to deflate as her claws retracted.
“My little human girl you truly are one of a kind you are too good for this world and it’s cruelty that it afflicts you with”
Her hands incased yours as she held them so lightly ”Stay with me” Alcina’s eyes steadily gazed into your own “I want you to stay with me in this castle forever with me. I want you to marry me and be mine and let me be yours”
You almost thought she was joking but Alcina Dimitrescu would never make such a joke and to claim that she had would be ludicrous it was simply not in her nature to be so brash with her humour. However, declarations received a treatment that was a far cry to how her delicate words of amusement were handled
“I can give you a life worthy of living for you. I’ll have you adorned in whatever clothes you would see fit to clad your body and express your beauty in all of its forms, I’ll have you living a luxurious life that would make a deity envious, your every desire would be fulfilled if you only ask and I promise you I will give you everything if only to see you relish the world you live in” there was a certain warmth to her tone that she never previously expressed to you.
”It’s a pitiful world full of devastation and tyranny and I will not have it harm you from hence forth”
You released one of your hands from her gentle grasp so that your hands could reach out
“You make me feel pink and small and like I’m fluttering like my feet could rise from the ground and I’d float in the air like some sort of silly, little cartoon character when they’re smitten by someone” you felt overheated and uncomfortable as you spoke but you continued
“I would stay with you whether or not you had riches to offer me. Castles and gowns and jewellery is all very lovely but it’s not what keeps me yearning. I want you Alcina, I want you and I want to spend every moment that I can with you” you smiled despite your inability to even glimpse her face. A coward you were and yet a lovesick fool you were all the same.
“I found a home with you Alcina.” Your eyes finally reunited with hers and as she looked at you, you had never felt more loved than in that moment. “Let me be your home too….let me marry you” the words caressed her heart and she moved your arms so that they fell around her neck and she lifted you up by your waist. “I treasure every moment I have with you my love” she whispered. “Let this world we’ll build last forever”
When you had a moment alone while getting ready you radioed into whatever members of your team were still alive and had their radios still working and on them “So I’m not gonna be able to go back with you guys but everything’s pretty good so uh yeah I don’t really know how to explain the predicament- no that’s too negative a word- situation- no, no this is not a situation that makes it sound like there’s some kind of situation- what I meant to say the events that preceded my current happenings can be perceived as a little odd however everything is fine, goodbye forever”
You threw your radio out of the window and into the snow and presumed it had broke. Chances were your teammates would not have heard your message but it was still polite to let them know you were alive and well and would simply just not be joining them on their way home or anything at all again ever because you were about to be married to a giant, homocidal lady. They could be angered by your supposed ‘disrespectful’ tone concerning how you address everyone and didn’t go over formalities but you were gifted with this thing known as manner which influenced your decision to inform them of your lack of presence on the return journey before hand.
You were just considerate like that.
You gushed over the dress you had been so graciously gifted. It truly was a work of art tailored just for you. Each detail of it was made with a passionate precision that had you gawking with glee as you admired every segment of material woven into the fabric.
It was a true marvel and you felt like a piece of artwork yourself that would be displayed with great care in an art museum. You looked like a glamorous painting that was created with such integral beauty that the expertise of the artist could not be measured by any title or prideful words.
A sense of pride ghosted your senses and you found your fingertips brushing the mirror with such a light touch that you couldn’t br sure your skin had made contact with the mirror at all. You were so subconsciously convinced what you were looking into was glazed with deceit and if you touched the mirror you would break the illusion of beauty and your true form of much lesser looks would be restored. But that didn’t happen and for a moment you could sympathise with narcissus as much like them you found yourself fawning over the being of beauty that you weren’t entirely sure was yourself.
You were truly a bride who’s beauty was beyond befitting of any title that could be bestowed upon you and you thought yourself to be belonging with angels of artwork, your place was dancing with the muses who were worth more than simple adoration and worship.
You weren’t a god but you were blessed by Aphrodite’s touch and you were sure simple folk could not help but be too mesmerised to experience jealousy at your envious appearance.
If it were a sin to be enraptured in revelling in your own appearance than you would relish the hellfire that rained down to scorch your flesh and soul. You’d paint such a pretty picture dancing in the misery of hell gifted by sins. Lucifer had treated you well and you thanked them for gracing you with what God couldn’t.
Alcina’s voice rang out like a dove from behind the door and lulled you away from the mirror your attention had been stolen by. “Perhaps you could be so gracious as to adorn me with your presence”
You turned to face the direction of her voice “of course anytime my love” you said earnestly.
“I won’t look at you now nor do I want you to see me just yet but I couldn’t help but to speak to you just for a moment beforehand…I want it to be special my dear and I won’t want for it to be any less special than either of us want for it to be because you deserve everything you want and yet lover I find myself needing to be selfish and needing to hear your voice”
”Alcina it’s okay” you couldn’t help but to let a giggle escape you “I can’t help but feel nervous to see you and yet I can’t wait to I love you and tonight is special because it’s our night it’s special because it marks the first day I get to be with you forever”
You head Alcina let out a small laugh tainted by an agitating anxiousness. “So do I”
You felt breathless as you stepped out into the night. Donna your apparent personal seamstress and now flower girl guided you to where it would take place.
Alcina stared as though she had witnessed something that couldn’t be explained by any science or rationality. While she herself was a sight to take in when she saw you she felt as though her childhood dreams were coming true as you seemed mythical.
When your eyes met her you felt like you were falling and you didn’t want to stop. Not for a moment. She was gorgeous. A wedding dress perfectly fit for her graced her elegant features. She looked ethereal and you wanted to reach out to touch her. Each step you took seemed so slow. Far too slow for your liking. You wanted to be in her arms and soon.
When you did finally meet her while tradition forbid you to kiss her just yet you at least reached out to hold her hands. Your eyes glistened with joy all of the love you had barely fit in your body as it threatened to burst out of you in bounds of laughter and tears. You felt so much and you wanted to feel like that forever. You wanted for this moment to last forever. You wanted to be held by her forever.
Your hair seemed so gorgeous and lustrous in the glowing moonlight. Fairy lights decorated the trees surrounding you and fireflies twirled in the breeze. To think you would see such beauty and wonder in what had once been a placed that had brought you such terror and havoc.
Alcina held you tenderly as though she couldn’t quite believe this was happening. She wouldn’t be isolated in that feeling as you were swarmed by disbelief, you didn’t shun all of the conflicting emotions you were feeling. Not for a moment. You welcomed them and you couldn’t help but tingle with the relief of any negative thoughts or surprise being overwhelmed with ecstatic delight. You had thought of marriage in the general sense before when considering where the events of your life might lead you and while it wasn’t conventional not anything close to what you could have ever expected you would gladly spend the rest of your days residing in Dimitrescu castle with Alcina. She really was one marvellous woman.
You had insisted on certain songs being played at your wedding from fun songs you had once joked about being played at your wedding to irresistibly romantic guilty pleasures that you would have been teased mercilessly for an infinite amount of times had you ever admitted you would want played. But that was in another lifetime and while Alcina may not always understand certain aspects of your interests she was always glad to watch you indulge in them.
You two danced, chests pounding with a romantic joy you had never thought existed in the way you felt it. As your arms wrapped around her neck as she lifted you up you couldn’t help but think how a much younger version of yourself would feel giddy at knowing how in love you were. Though knowing your child self the word ‘gross’ would also most likely make an appearance as the topic of love.
You admired every detail of her face and when you kissed her you thought about how you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your life with her. However long you had would be amazing as long as it was spent by your side whether it be one day or one hundred years you wanted to spend it all with her. You had been bewitched by her and you couldn’t be happier.
Then your moment was interrupted by the sounds of gunfire. Violence and stubborn hatred truly had a way of ruining even the most kindest and beautiful of moments.
Alcina scooped you up and ran, throwing you over her shoulder and quickly moving so that you may escape the presence of aggression and be safe in the sanctuary she made for you.
Over her shoulder you saw Chris running, bullets blazing as he ran with a determined rage. You thought he would have been long gone by now. You had convinced Alcina to give up her part in aiding Miranda’s plan. Surely you could convince her to let these people leaves unscathed.
You moved in front of Alcina, attempting to quell her anger and bitter bloodlust with promises of trust and hope. You begged her to at least let you try to form some kind of truce so that you would not have to live knowing people you cared about destroyed each other. Hesitantly she let you go. Though her reluctance was apparent and she looked so eager to snatch you up and lock you far from those who put your life at risk.
You left the castle and approached the direction you were adamant Chris and probably his team would soon be.
Geez he really went to the effort to risk his life searching for your and stealing you back with him all so he could lecture you on your lack of formality and far too casual tone when you had radioed in as well as your blatant disrespect, poor execution of the mission and your inconsideration of the expense of the property you had been given. Sounds about right. It was a mistake to attempt some kind of means of communication really. And now look what happened your wedding was ruined.
You raised your hands up to show you meant no harm when Chris and found and approached you.
There was a moment between Chris properly processing you were there and him first catching sight of you where it felt like everything had been put on pause. He eyed you suspiciously as though you were some sort of distraction, a part of a malicious scheme Alcina had made in order to proficiently destroy any hope of Chris’s rescue attempt and mission succeeding.
”Hey” you waved awkwardly in a hopeless attempt to break through  the immense pressure and tension of the situation “nice to see you’re still alive and stuff that’s cool” your voice rang out through the silence. “I’m alive too which is fun looks like we have that in common”at that point you were just throwing dumb words at him in a blatant attempt to get him to respond in a way that wouldn’t suck.
Chris grabbed you and pulled you into a vice-like hug. You felt him lift you up “It’s good to see you….Where is that thing? What did that bitch do to you?” He seethed.
”Nothing she actually had a pretty good sense of hospitality-did you come here on your own without anyone-“
He had you back on the ground but his grasp never left you as he shifted his grip so that he now had a steady hold on your shoulders. “This isn’t the time to act like nothings wrong if you’re injured or you’ve been drugged with something you need to tell me” his hold on you was just as secure as it was when he hugged you even if he no longer had you squished against him.
“I’ve not been hurt really I’m not lying to you Chris” you looked him in the eyes and tried to communicate with your facial expressions that you were telling the truth.
Chris sighed slightly but nodded “good, we need to leave we can continue this conversation when we’re safe-“
You put a hand on his chest to put some distance between you both “look Chris I’m- I’m not leaving. I’m staying here” Chris looked a mixture of perplexed and horrified.
He stepped closer to you so he was practically leering over you “what are you talking about! We’re going. Now.”
“No Chris I’m not. I love Alcina and I’m not leaving her. I won’t. You can leave I’ll make sure she won’t come after you just as I made sure she no longer interfered with Ethan finding Rose but I won’t go with you”You stared defiantly at him as you stood as tall as you could despite him towering over you.
”Alcina? Is that what that bitch got you to call her!You think you love that thing! Jesus Christ what did she do to you!” Chris looked disgusted at your words.
“Hey man I don’t ruin your weddings do I the least you could do is let me go back to her-“ Chris held your arm tightly preventing you from leaving as he radioed into someone.
”I’ve acquired S/n. Clearly they’re under some kind of influence- they must have been brainwashed or put in some form of hypnotic state!” Chris hypothesised to the person on the other end of the radio upon your immediate reluctance to leave. The moment you suggested you had no interest in leaving he stopped talking directly to you. “We’ll meet you there soon we’ll need a medic and possibly some means of restraint for them” he tucked the radio back into his pocket and turned his attention back on you.
“I’m all here I’m just genuinely okay to stay here” you implored him to recognise that you were in fact all there.
Chris ignored your attempts to defend your sanity and slung you over you shoulder. “Fuck are you doing!” You yelped at his sudden action.
“I don’t know what that freak did to you but I won’t let you suffer! I won’t leave you in this hell hole! We can fix this I promise!” He seemed so genuinely concerned and you understood why but you just needed him to listen. You knew how ugly this was going to end up if he didn’t.
”Stop calling her that! You know nothing of her! There’s nothing to fix! She’s been nothing but kind to me! Please just put me down and leave!” Your pleads were wasted as he stopped responding to you.
Panicking you thrashed in his stone like grip even going so far as to try to bite and scratch him. He grunted in response to your little attack and repositioned you so that you couldn’t easily hurt him and if you did you wouldn’t do much damage.
Your fears were ignited when you heard Alcina’s voice rampaging through the wind. Chris cursed and you began begging you to put him down and leave you. Unfortunately, he interpreted your words as an attempt to sacrifice yourself for his sake, which he refused to go along with.
He didn’t let go of you as he began running and quickly grabbing a gun which he fired at Alcina with a precision you wish he lacked. You started screaming begging for them not to fight but your words crumbled as your weeping shouts were overpowered by the insatiable violence that inevitably occurred due to both parties refusal to attempt any form of reason.
While you understood the motivation both of them had and if you heard one perspective by itself you could easily side with it if the other one remained unknown to you.
Chris set you down by a tree after tying you to it. You blubbered through your messy tears that he needed to stop and listen to you for just a moment. You were desperate for them to stop before it was too late but just as always you were ignored as Chris left you to fight Alcina.
Your thoughts flurried as paranoia and fear truly sunk in and you were sure one or both of them would die. As you were sure you would lose everything to the cruelty of bloodshed. Time seemed to drag on and you struggled to release yourself from the rope that held you securely. You were so sure that one of them were dead as horrific sounds seeped into the cold night air.
Your fears proved true when you heard Alcina’s screams rattle throughout the air. Your breath hitched. What just happened-
Your head snapped at the sound of footsteps and your whole body felt like it was burning as you saw Chris’s weathered face.
He untied you and lifted you up into his arms that seemed to tremble ever so slightly. “What-what just” you could barely get the words out of your mouth. It couldn’t have possibly meant what-no there had to be some other explanation. Any other explanation.
”She won’t hurt you anymore” with those words you fell a part.
Chris remained silent as you sobbed. He just kept walking. He was sure you were just experiencing some kind of false mourning as the result of whatever Alcina had done to you. And yet guilt threatened to creep at the doubt that teased the back of his mind. He held back his thoughts and focused on getting you home.

Long before the Winters come into play, a monster stalks the Forbidden Forest that surrounds the Village. Karl Heisenberg is sent to investigate, and heads deeper into darkness to find his prey, a thorn on his side and someone just like him. (Heisenberg x OC)

chapter 8 - great expectations
SFW, but usual blood/gore warning. around 3.5K words.
He barely remembers getting dressed and returning to his quarters after such a relaxing shower. At some point he had slipped inside his pants and slid an undershirt on, thrown himself at the desk chair and poured over plans and schematics, a mess of paper and far more motor oil than necessary. He had written and read until his eyes had grown tired, like every other night, fighting off sleep to the best of his ability. He could sleep when he was dead, or when she was dead, when he was far away from this hellhole, when nothing awaited him come morning.
Some nights he would skip it altogether, keep his eyes wide open when his mind was too fraught with dreadful thoughts. He knew what would come if he finally closed his eyes, the memories that he worked so hard to put away. A dream, it was only a dream, he would tell himself over and over, but it was hard to believe it when he would wake up drenched in sweat and tears, throat sore from screaming at the top of his lungs, that all too familiar twinge of sadness and terror balling up in his chest. It was hard to believe and hard to forget, because he would see it when he held the wrench, when he brought a cup to his lips, when he pressed the buttons to get the conveyor belt running. His hands shook, his fingers lost their strength, and then we would remember it all. It was not real, but it had been once, and he is unsure whether the knowledge makes things better or worse.
Heisenberg remembers nothing but the familiar tingle on his fingertips, the numbness that overtook him, anxiety and fear washing over him like he had been engulfed in a sea of darkness. The scribbles on the paper would be evidence of how he had lost control the night before, how he had pressed the pencil hard to try and force himself to focus, to keep going. The cut on his forehead would tell him that he exhaustion had taken the reigns and he had fallen face first into the table, head hitting the metal clamp and inadvertently helping lull him to sleep.
Much to his surprise, that night, when Heisenberg closed his eyes, he was greeted with the blissful sight of nothing. Head void of dreams, of nightmares, body protesting with the awkward way he’d scattered over his work station, but nothing else. The cut had stained some papers with blood and drool had ruined some others; his arms felt numb in the morning, as they had been left hanging off the desk with his head and neck as the only support. It took him a good few stretches of his hands to feel his fingers again - all things considered, this had been a much better night than most.
If the night was almost-pleasant, the morning was anything but. A hot gust of air blew in when the factory kicked into gear with full force, like it did every day around this time, the whirring of blades and purring of engines his usual white noise. Only this time there was an intruder, a high pitched, repetitive sound that threatened to pierce his eardrums - he woke up to the incessant sound of his phone ringing. The thing sat just inside his office, an old landline that Miranda had insisted on him keeping in case she needed to speak to him urgently. She would call him every now and again, but more often than not it was his siblings that would bother him. Moreau would call to ask if he had found any old VHS tapes or old fiction books, Donna would ask him for blades and all manner of crazy-looking schematics built. Alcina rarely called, but given her interest in the bloodsucking beast that prowled the woods, he was certain that would change very soon.
Not that he intended to answer any of them, naturally. Nine times out of ten he was nowhere near the dumb phone to answer, which made Mother angry and him even angrier, because the last thing he wanted was to interrupt important research to tend to any of their petty, cruel whims. When she called, invariably he would be thrust into something barbarous and despicable; she wanted someone kidnapped, or killed, or turned into a monstrosity. She wanted him to spy or intimidate, put on his best scary mask and drill the fear of the Black God into someone’s mind. She never once asked if his research went well, if he was doing well, and though it had been years of such abuse, he could not help but feel the sting of it every time he heard her speak. Somewhere deep down, he still held onto a sliver of hope that she cared; and she would always dig deeper and deeper, until she found it and choked his feelings to death.
Heisenberg lazily lifted his head, right arm coming up to wipe away the drool at the corner of his mouth, eyes hurting under the bright industrial lights coming in through the window. A strand of hair had sneaked into his eye when he blinked, such a small nuisance upsetting him even further, a simple strand of hair that felt like the devil’s toothpick stabbing his eyeball. The phone had stopped for a few seconds only to resurge like the wailing of a baby, and the ringing prompted him to shoot up and off his armchair in a flash, too disoriented and uncomfortable to fully register what was going on. He almost fell on his way to the phone, tripping over his unbuttoned pants, annoyance levels rising with every step. He rubbed his eyes as he approached the offending object, flicked the room’s light on like it would help him hear better. At least it would keep him awake.
“Heisenberg,” came the voice from the other side, sweet and soft-spoken, domineering and stubborn. “Any news on our quarry?” Our quarry, he mouthed to himself mockingly. As if any of it was a team effort, as if he had anything to gain from this little adventure. Well, as it turns out, he did, but lady super-sized bitch didn’t need to know that. The damn hair was still stuck somewhere between his eyelashes. “A little bird told me you left the forest quite late last night.” A little bird would die a horrible, horrible death as soon as he discovered who it was that had agreed to his sister’s asinine plan of meddling in his business.
“Oh hey, sis. Surprised you get reception all the way up there.” He heard her huff of annoyance, chuckled in response. It bought him enough time to figure out exactly what he would tell her. Hey, yeah, turns out your monster is actually this gorgeous lady with a pair of tits big enough to rival any fertility goddess’? “Slippery little thing, that monster of yours. Found some bodies, some blood,” truth was always easier to tell than lies. “Caught a glimpse of something, too, but it disappeared in the middle of the trees before I could grab it. Little shit gave me the loop, took me quite a while to find the way back.” Heisenberg could practically hear her chest rising and falling as she breathed excitedly, happy to hear something, anything, even if it was a blatant lie. He could hear her nails hitting against wood impatiently, stringing together a tune he did not recognize. “What do you want with this thing anyway, needing a new pet?” Quite the funny thought, really. He was suddenly curious to know if the little witch would put up a fight as a tight collar was snapped around her neck.
“Am I right to assume you will return to the forest soon for another search?” Oh, most definitely, though his intentions were far different from what she expected. She continued without waiting for his answer, clearly aware that he would retort in the crassest manner possible. “I will see you handsomely rewarded once I have it in my possession, brother. House Dimitrescu does not forget such acts of service.” And there it was, brother, the greatest honor she would grant him, a compliment reserved for moments like these, when she desperately needed his help and no one else’s would do.
Blah, blah, blah. What was she going to offer him, a maiden? A scrawny lady with bruises big enough to make one believe her skin was purple, bones showing through her ribs and threatening to poke out at any moment? He had long decided against experimenting on women - they were always so weak and fragile, he would tell himself. Had long left behind his whoring days, too, far too focused on his research to let himself be distracted by a pair of tits. Oh, right; the irony. What else could she give him? A casket of wine made of blood of an innocent, with its thick bouquet of brutality and mercilessness?
She could offer him riches, influence, her undying loyalty. The only reward he wanted was to see her fractured into a thousand tiny pieces, nothing left of her and her daughters but the crystal cores they would dissolve into. The jewelry he would keep, the crystals he would sell to the Duke for a hefty price; the dust he would gather, send to an artist to mix into paint and commission a portrait of himself in his best work attire, his beat up trench coat and ragged hat. To make a statement, his fly would be open and his dick out in the painting, forever immortalizing him as the large, hard Lord of the Castle. With the money he would buy the best brewery he could find and have it make the worst beer, call it Lady D’s Fresh Piss, all in her honor, naturally.
He would bring over his suitcase and set up shop in the castle, tear down every reference to the Dimistrescu family and replace it with cheap replicas of innocent, idyllic landscapes, and dozens of horrible quality photos of his face. The extra large milk pail she called a hat would be used for entertainment when he gathered guests over, shoot the ball into the dead lady’s hat or take another shot. His soldats would clean house, kill every last monster in the basement, replace those god-awful torture tools with something else, anything else - maybe pigs, to pay homage to his dear sister. He would then fire all maids and forbid them from ever setting foot inside the place again, hire an all-male crew to tend to the estate and leave him well enough alone. On a clear day he would grab all of their expensive dresses, the paperwork that dignified her as gentry, her snob literature and photo albums, pile them all into the courtyard and burn it all, the vineyard alongside it, then light his cigar in the blaze and smoke it while facing the inferno, the flames reflecting beautifully on the lenses of his glasses. Once it had all turned to cinders he would strip before going through the front door, waltz around the place while rubbing his dick on all of her favorite spots. He would dump all of her fine wine in the biggest, smelliest cesspool, grab the revenue from the last shipment and throw it from atop the church in the village to watch the peasants fight each other for riches that were supposed to be hers.
Perhaps best of all, he would invite Alcina’s little monster over, encourage her to come in while dragging all the dirt and mud gathered on her bare feet. He would give her a tour of the castle, allow her to decorate every room with a harvest wreath or handmade candle, let her cover the posh couches with handmade quilted throws. Together they would roll up the fancy carpet and throw it in the fireplace, lay down the most unrefined of straw tapestries in its place. The mantle would be a display of their crudeness and peasantry, his schematics and forgotten bits of scrap metal, her incenses and rune-inscribed bones and whatever else her little heart desired. He would allow her to have her pick of his sister’s jewelry, try and convince her to take them all, to wear nothing but her favorite set as she danced under the skylight of the atelier, the flames of all tolling bells and the bright shine of the moon as the only source of light for their unholy, delicious rituals.
When silence settled he would grab her waist and pull her closer, whisper in her ear the most delectable of invitations. Together they would desecrate every last corner of the castle, from the halls to the belfry and the stairwells to the balconies, the cries of agony the place had come to be known for replaced by their sounds of pleasure. When they were far too tired to continue they would work together in the kitchen, he would help her prepare a bloodless meal that they would savor watching the wide open doors to the courtyard. He would sit at Alcina’s spot, ignore every single piece of flatware and eat with his bare hands, audibly chew on every morsel. He would draw every curtain and open every window, let the gelid gale wipe away any trace of her and her daughters. Late at night, he would carry his prized lady up the stairs to her quarters, gently place her on the giant bed and cover her with the decadent expensive sheets. She would ask him to stay, and he would, hold her close as she slumbered and he stared at the top of the canopy and let out a tired sigh almost a hundred years in the making. He would be free, and he would have claimed it all, a fitting end to his sordid tale.
If he wasn’t sure Alcina would rise from the grave and put herself back together out of sheer spite, the whole thing didn’t sound half bad.
Heisenberg barely registered whatever she said after, far too immersed in his little happy place to give a shit. She had talked for what seemed like hours, something about training the beast to present it to Mother Miranda, to allow her to experiment and find out what sort of things they could learn of such a splendorous mutation. Some illusions of grandeur sprinkled here and there, the very obvious wish to become the best, most adored child. He felt like Alcina wished Mother would descend upon her in a ray of light, to lift her up and away towards the heavens to take a place at her side. What a load of crap, though he had to admit it was far more than he would have given her credit for when she came up with this sordid little plan.
At some point, she finally realized she had said too much, exposed too much of her grand plan, had become too excited with the prospect of having that admiration within her reach. That, or she had grown tired of sounding too friendly with the riffraff. She quickly finished saying her piece and hung up without waiting for him to say goodbye, wishing him good luck on the hunt, reminding him she had great expectations. As did he.
He found his mind wandering back to his little witch in the woods as he placed the handle back on its hook. Where did she even come from, anyway? Was she born in that miserable place, brought up among the failed experiments of this village in middle of nowhere, Romania? Did she know how to use money, or were the lei they used foreign to her? He had it in good confidence that she could read, considering all the books he had seen around, but did she know how to write? Had she ever seen electricity at work, or had her life been lived under candlelight? Could she drive a car? Operate a telephone? Did she have toilet paper in her outhouse or did she wipe her ass with ferns or something of the sort? How did she find out about nail polish, of all things?
Had she ever lived outside that lousy shack? Did she ever get a taste of luxury, of fine wine, scrumptious desserts, someone to cook and feed her, maidens to attend to her? Had she always worked the land and tended to livestock, gathered herbs and berries in the forest? Had she cared for her parents or grandparents and learned her trade then, offered her services to lice-ridden villagers when they were no longer in the picture? Had they ever met, some day when he was too busy with his own sorrow to notice her, to take in the beauty that had come to haunt him so? Had she ever shared her body with someone, with a lucky lad or lass that caught her vulnerable and willing on a lonely night? Did she… Did she think of him, as much as he had begun to think of her?
Her shroud of blood and mystery, alongside Alcina’s excitement over the prospect of having her torn apart, had a strange feeling seep within his bones, a pang of anguish tugging at his heartstrings. All the more reason for him to hide the truth for as long as he could - even if the witch turned out to be just really clever with herbs and some hallucinogens, he wouldn’t give dear sister the pleasure of sinking those rusty nails into her flesh. Not when he had so much to discover.
Finally alone with his thoughts and away from his fantasies, he looked down at himself to see his shirt tousled, the fly on his pants undone. He had slept alright, although passed out might be a better description. In his defense, he had tried to fall asleep like a normal human being: sat down and let his mind go blank, eyes firmly shut to try and get some rest. But try as he might, he always startled as he was about to drift off, the sight of the dark horse dissolving into a puddle of blood right before his very eyes, of Sturm’s decapitated arms almost comically flying in his direction. Rage followed soon after - another failure, another waste of time. How would he make that thing rise again? He was then caught in the infinite loop of thinking, and planning, and burning out in frustration, until he could carry on no more.
Of course. He remembered it now, what had finally lulled him to sleep, in the throes of his despair. The way she had distracted him with a well-placed, gentle hand on his face, to work her magic and make his pain disappear, to preserve the secret she worked so hard to maintain. The gash on his hand that had left no trace, the lycans and moroaicas dead but not quite. The way she seemed to have a knack for putting things back together again, to prop them up on strings and have them dance like a puppeteer would. If he brought her here into his den, allowed her a glimpse of his work - would she be able to help him? Would she want to?
At first, he had thought the whole thing was bullshit. So maybe she knew a few plants, knew how to make a mean incense to get him high as a kite and seeing shit. Maybe she had some medical training and could put a nose back in its place, big deal. Maybe she held the world record on fastest, most painless stitching of human flesh, and was in cahoots with the Duke to use whatever seemingly magical substance he put in his antiseptic solution. Whatever she was smoking to say that she could actually heal things, that she might just be able to murder Mother Miranda - he wanted some.
And yet the more he thought of it, the less sense it all made. Her touch was unmistakable when she held his chin up, when the monster’s wispy tendrils had done the same. There was no doubt that she had, indeed, healed his wounds. The decapitated heads were very much alive, the blood pungent, the bite as painful as it should be. If she had killed them, how had she brought them back to life? How had she kept them alive on borrowed time, negated the effects the very creator of the Cadou could not avoid? How far did her powers go? Were they powers, like his and Moreau’s and Donna’s and Alcina’s, or a clever trick of the mind?
Whatever the case, Miranda had spent the better part of a century trying to bring back a dead girl in the body of another, necromancy a far too advanced concept for her young mind back in the late twenties. She had spent countless hours, spilled gallons upon gallons of innocent blood, spread a disease that they no longer had control over in the lycans, all for naught. And suddenly some creepy girl at the ass-end of the woods was the second coming of Jesus? She had knocked him on his ass and somehow morphed into this giant mass of blood that would make the hairiest of grunts shit their pants. If there was any chance that she was for real, then it would change everything. The possibilities were endless. He just needed to tell apart the bullshit from the truth.
