💛 ROSARIO FONTANELLA - ARTIST AND CARPENTER Rosario wears his lapel turned up and his hair neatly combed, and has a cinematic air about him. Neapolitan blood, “trentino” by adoption, he smiles with elegance. He has a nice voice, uses kind words, and is one of those people who make our village a special place. His hands churn out lines and volumes by shaping wood every day, guided by an analytical spirit that also affects his artistic production. "I paint for others and not for myself," says Rosario, because we have realised that his senses and discipline are at the service of us, the users. We do not reveal the challenge he has chosen in recent weeks: a very sentimental surgeon who observes, contemplates and ultimately loves the object of his attention, and unveils its essence, or skin, just for us. Painting, which his father intimately passed on to him and which he transformed into a colourful code also in his relationship with his beloved daughter, passing through stages ranging from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna to the Galleria Civica in Trento, remains his sacred fire, concentrated in preferably small canvases. 💛 WHY SANTA MARIA? "By chance!", says the artist, who in Zinevra has found not only a home but also the place where he composes his works: a cavern that in the past has housed cars and quarters of beef, surprisingly facing a humble garden unknown to most, where Rosario's suspended dreams live amidst untamed tufts of grass. Happy National Unicorn Day!

Unicorn was a symbol of chastity in medieval romance. There’s an interesting story behind this painting by Raphael. The 1959 restoration work on the painting revealed through radiography the image of a small dog under the unicorn. The dog may have been used as a model for the final appearance of the unicorn!
