🏛️ ¿Somos los únicos que echamos de menos la Casa del Labrador? Se trata de una de las joyas del neoclasicismo e imperio español. Desde el año 2021, este palacete está inmerso en una obra de emergencia y de restauración que terminará a finales de 2023. Su fachada e interiores guardan un proyecto de reputados nombres tanto nacionales como internacionales de la arquitectura y decoración de finales del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX: Juan de Villanueva en su proyecto inicial; Isidro González Velázquez en el desarrollo; Jean-Démosthène Dugourc en sus muebles y "boiseries", o el gran Mariano Salvador Maella en la pintura de sus bóvedas. 🏗️ Todo este increíble conjunto está siendo rehabilitado hasta el más mínimo detalle, empezando por la cimentación de la infraestructura y terminando por un exhaustivo repaso interior. Uno de los salones más preciados y delicados es, sin duda, la galería de estatuas. Pensada en un inicio para albergar obras de Antonio Canova, finalmente fueron los artistas españoles los que enriquecieron este pequeño templo clásico. 🕰 Es destacable, por otro lado, el monumental reloj central (¡sí, es un reloj!), realizado por Jean Simon Bourdier en 1804: dicha pieza es una clara demostración por el gusto del estilo "grand tour", con elementos como una Columna de Trajano en el centro, esfinges y arcos de medio punto. Black is Beltza is a duology of comics, the first one was published in 2014 and the second in 2022, and they have been adapted into two Basque animated films recently in 2018 and 2022, Black is Beltza and Black is Beltza II: Ainhoa.

One of the main things of the comics are the sociopolitical environment of the places and the period the films are set in, for example the first one is set in the 60's mainly in New York and the sequel is set in the 80's and among other places, in Pamplona.

Black is Beltza (2018)

October 1965. The Pamplona troupe of giants, a typical image of the San Fermín festivities, is invited to parade on Fifth Avenue in New York. But not everyone will be able to leave: due to racial discrimination, the North American authorities prohibit the participation of the two black giants. Based on this real event, "Black is Beltza" tells the story of Manex, the waiter in charge of carrying one of the giants. Headed for a long and unexpected journey, Manex will witness key events in history: the racial riots resulting from the assassination of Malcolm X, the eccentricities of the characters in The Factory, the alliance between the Cuban secret services and the Black Panthers, and the proto-hippie psychedelia of early music festivals.

Ainhoa ​​was born by a miracle in La Paz (Bolivia) after the death, in a parapolice attack, of her mother Amanda. She grew up in Cuba and in 1988, at the age of 21, she traveled to the Basque Country to see the land of his father Manex. Pahiyas festival is the biggest and most colourful harvest festival in the Philippines that takes place annually to honour the patron saint of farmers, San Isidro Labrador.

Known as “Pahiyas”, the festival is deeply rooted in the traditional celebration of the townsfolk in thanksgiving for bountiful harvest. Decorations called “Kiping”, leaf-shaped and multi-colored rice paste wafers which are used to decorate the facades of the homes along with the fruits and flowers from nature.

What is the history of Pahiyas? Origins of the festival date back the 15th century as an early thanksgiving ceremony. Farmers would bring their crops to the foot of Mount Banahaw as a celebration of a bountiful harvest.

Isidore the Labourer, also known as Isidore the Farmer (Spanish: San Isidro Labrador) (c. 1070 – 15 May 1130), was a Spanish farmworker known for his piety toward the poor and animals. He is the Catholic patron saint of farmers, and of Madrid; El Gobernador, Jalisco; La Ceiba, Honduras; and of Tocoa, Honduras. His feast day is celebrated on 15 May.

Supervisa Presidente Juan Martínez avance de seis obras municipales #EnContrasteVeracruz #Córdoba Córdoba, Ver.- El Presidente Municipal, Juan Martínez Flores, recorrió junto con los Comités de Contraloría Social los avances de seis obras en Agua Fría, Palenque Palotal, San Isidro Palotal, bulevar de la USBI, Agustín Millán y Pénjamo. Actualmente la dirección de Obra Pública e Infraestructura Municipal ejecuta un total de 6 obras entre construcción de aulas, bacheo, ampliación de alumbrado público, guarniciones y banquetas con recursos provenientes del Fondo de Aportaciones para la Infraestructura Social Municipal (FISM). A este recorrido se sumaron el director de Obra Pública, José Felipe Vilchis Velázquez y el Contralor Municipal, Lauro Ramos Olmos, quien conforma parte de los Comités de Contraloría Social, quienes se encargan de vigilar la perfecta realización de las obras, cumpliendo con la calidad y desarrollo de acuerdo a lo contratado a las constructoras. La primera fue en la comunidad de Agua Fría y después en la Luz Palotal donde se lleva a cabo la ampliación de alumbrado público en cada comunidad. En la localidad de Palenque Palotal se supervisó la construcción de guarniciones y banquetas que se realiza desde el kilómetro 14 hasta la calle 6. Asimismo, se supervisó la construcción de dos aulas, una en el jardín de niños Jean Piaget de la colonia Pénjamo, así como en la Telesecundaria Agustín Millán de la misma localidad. Como parte del recorrido de este día, el alcalde Juan Martínez Flores, recorrió el bulevar de la USBI, el cual registra un avance del 90 por ciento de los trabajos, falta concluir la pintura en calle, algunas luminarias y limpieza final, la cual deberá concluirse a más tardar el 16 de junio. Lima Mai 1974

Passage obligé dans la capitale péruvienne. Située entre les Andes et le Pacifique, il n’y a pas beaucoup d’autres choix que de s’y arrêter lorsque l’on vient du nord pour aller vers le sur, et vice versa ! Je n’ai jamais trouvé la ville très belle, en dehors peut-être du centre colonial avec le palais présidentiel,  la Plaza de Armasdes, la cathédrale Saint-Jean. Il y a les quartiers résidentiels situés près de la mer, Miraflores, San isidro, mais  aussi les bidonvilles qui s’étendent autour de la ville, comme toutes les capitales sud-américaines.

Nous logeons, Marja et moi, à l’hôtel Europa situé derrière le palais présidentiel, hôtel des routards dont le nom circule de voyageur en voyageur. Chambres sans douches donnant sur une cour intérieure, une ambiance de voyage bon marché comme j’aimais à cette époque. Ne retrouvant plus aucune note de voyage, je serai bref sur cette ville étape.

La route du sud nous attend.
