y’all don’t understand how much I love that Alice wrote Jimmy as a gay, trans man who is also a Christian

#like his relationship with Christianity makes me want to believe in something again #its so beautiful #it’s one of the biggest things in Jimmy’s life #he finds comfort in it and !!! I love it so much!!! #like that’s the whole point!!!! #Alice never brought up anything negative about Christianity and queerness and that’s something that is so rare #like just thinking about it makes me feel so much joy #I’m no longer Christian and I never really understood how any queer people could be Christian after seeing all the hate between the two #but that was a while back and I now understand that not everyone has the same experience with queerness and Christianity as I do #and honestly Jimmy’s character helped me in realizing that #and I just love that Alice wrote a character like that #cause there are real gay Christian trans men in the world #and I just think that’s beautiful #i was born for this #IWBFT #jimmy kaga ricci #jimmy kaga-ricci #alice oseman #osemanverse #sav speaks

iwbft musical in which the ark plays a song during a concert except it gets incrementally more intense as it goes on, and just as it becomes noticeable everything stops as if frozen in time. rowan and lister stop dead, like the performance is a video and somebody hit the pause button. jimmy steps out from between them as the music from the orchestra segues into a different song, which ends up being a solo about the desperation and claustrophobia he feels at being trapped in his own life. at the end of the solo the music segues BACK into the original song as jimmy steps back and everything starts up again, revealing that the solo never really happened and emphasizing how jimmy is trapped within the confines of the band and how nobody truly knows how much it’s affecting him
