Kamui Blues vibes! This fanfic novel has some wonderful scenes in there, beautiful and deep. Kakashi nodded, then looked at the fire. His thoughts drifted back to people still on the earthly plane. “How deep should forgiveness stretch, father?”

Sakumo regarded him. “You’re asking about the person from the end of your story. Your companion.”

Kakashi nodded slowly. “He’s done terrible things, things that he can never make right. But I… Somehow, I still—” He shrugged his shoulders, thoughts tumbling in no clear order.

“Well.” Sakumo sighed. “I don’t know if you should trust this old dog for emotional advice. I didn’t do so well with my own emotions, as you may recall.” Kakashi quirked an eyebrow at the self-deprecation, another similarity he’d never noticed between his father and himself. “But I do know one thing.” Sakumo looked at him seriously. “There is nothing I could have done to fix my actions toward you. No way to make right the suffering that I caused in your life. But you forgave me anyway.” He smiled gently. “Forgiveness isn’t something to be earned, Kakashi. Forgiveness is a gift, freely given. You’ve given me this gift. And now I can move on in peace.”

so this one is less lyrics and far more the music in between; the uphill battle, the fight for growth, the climb of the mountain. it’s the wind whipping and pushing and the rock crumbling and continuing anyways. which to me, is a major part of kamui blues: obito’s shift in ideals and his redirection of his will to fight, both of them helping each other come to terms with themselves, pushing through the bleak times because they wanted to for each other.

ough a sort of wry spin on obito’s hopelessness when kakashi’s trying to help him out of it, and perhaps a commentary on his recovery from it. mostly in the lyrics:

it also kind of touches on how kakashi affects him, i think. like how what he says sort of changes his perception/acceptance of himself, if only a little.

which could be kakashi’s attempt at helping.

this song has a little darker tone to it with no real hopeful resolution imo, but i think it still fits! kind of both their trauma tbh, especially after konan’s death.

That's not rude at all, it's flattering. But honestly, I'm probably not going to write more nart fics, because I have a one-track mind with my hyperfixations and the nart focus ended for me a while ago. :'( I still love these characters to bits (I write this while sipping coffee from my kks mug <3), and they will always have the biggest place in my heart for jump-starting my writing after the long post-uni slump, but I don't have the motivation to write them anymore

I mean, never say never, but let's say never for now, and then if I happen to feel some inspiration again it'll be a nice little surprise

But the nice thing about nart is that ppl are discovering/rediscovering it all the time, so there will always be a wealth of new amazing content. I mean, have you seen the insanely gorgeous and heartbreaking obkk comic that @badninken made recently?!? and when you have incredible humans like @rubychan228 who compiled a huge rec lists of kkob fics, there's lots of content to feed the obsession :DD
