PEDRO INFANTE

Ernesto de la Cruz is based on him. He was an actor and singer. He is considered an idol of the mexican people. Together with Jorge Negrete and Javier Solís, were styled as the Tres Gallos Mexicanos (the Three Mexican Roosters).

JORGE NEGRETE

Another mexican idol. He was kind of a genius: he spoke six languages: Spanish, German, English, French, Italian, and Nahuatl. He started singing on the radio and bacame a legend. 

JAVIER SOLÍS

Great singer of boleros and rancheras. As Infante and Negrete, he became an actor. Solís died at the age of 34 in Mexico City from complications due to gallbladder surgery. Following surgery, his doctors had refused him water, and his last words concerned his thirst and imminent death: "They will have to shower my grave with lots of water. I know that I'm going to die. There is no cure."

LUCHA VILLA

Singer and actress, but what a singer. She named herself “Villa” in honor of Pancho Villa. 

AIDA CUEVAS

She’s been around for 40 years, and is awesome.  Affectionately known as "The Queen of Ranchera Music”.

LOLA BELTRÁN

I love this woman. She even sang mexican songs before word leaders, One of Mexico's most acclaimed ranchera singers. She was often nicknamed Lola la Grande ("Lola the Great").

TANIA LIBERTAD

She was born in Perú, but she’s mexican. She has performed concerts all over the world. She was named an Ambassador for Peace by UNESCO.

JOSE ALFREDO JIMÉNEZ

Singer and songwriter of rancheras. His music is considered musical heritage. 

CHAVELA VARGAS

Born in Costa Rica, but more mexican than most mexicans. She always sad she was mexican. When asked about this, she said: “We mexicans are born wherever the fuck we want” 

AGUSTÍN LARA

Boleros composer and singer. He is recognized as one of the most popular songwriters of his era. His songs are ppreciated all over Latin America and the world. 

SELENA

Our Queen. You know her. She also sang this kind of music. 

LOS PANCHOS

Los Panchos (also known as Trío Los Panchos) was an internationally famous Latin trío romántico known for its romantic ballads and boleros.

ROCÍO DURCAL

Born in Spain, but a part of her (a big part) was mexican. A close friend of Juan Gabriel. She used to sing his songs. 

JUAN GABRIEL

Mexican singer and songwriter. Nicknames: “Juanga” and “El Divo de Juárez”.  Considered one of the best and most prolific Mexican composers and singers of all time.

JOSÉ JOSÉ

Mexican singer, musician and occasional actor. Also known in the entertainment world as El Príncipe de la Canción (The Prince of Song), his performance and vocal style have influenced many Latin pop artists in a career that has spanned more than four decades.
