Her remains were discovered on July 23, 2019, located about 24 km (15 mi) southeast of Jonelle's home. The cause of death "was a gunshot wound to the head." 1985 – Pope John Paul II announces the institution of World Youth Day. 1987 – In the worst peacetime sea disaster, the passenger ferry Doña Paz sinks after colliding with the oil tanker MT Vector in the Tablas Strait of the Philippines, killing an estimated 4,000 people (1,749 official). 1989 – The United States invasion of Panama deposes Manuel Noriega. 1991 – A Missouri court sentences the Palestinian militant Zein Isa and his wife Maria to death for the honor killing of their daughter Palestina. 1995 – NATO begins peacekeeping in Bosnia. 1995 – American Airlines Flight 965, a Boeing 757, crashes into a mountain 50 km north of Cali, Colombia, killing 159 of the 163 people on board. 1999 – Macau is handed over to China by Portugal. 2007 – Elizabeth II becomes the oldest monarch in the history of the United Kingdom, surpassing Queen Victoria, who lived for 81 years and 243 days. 2019 – The United States Space Force becomes the first new branch of the United States Armed Forces since 1947.

TERMINA RACHA INVICTA DEL LOCOMOTIVE ANTE ENTRADA RÉCORD DE AFICIONADOS El Paso, Texas., domingo 2 de Julio, 2023.-El Paso Locomotive FC (West-2, 9-4-3, 30 puntos) cayó 0-1 ante New Mexico United el sábado por la noche en Southwest University Park en la revancha del Derby Del Camino Real 2023, con lo cual la racha invicta de 12 juegos de los "Locos" se rompió frente a 8,411 fanáticos de Locomotive, la entrada más grande en la historia del club

La primera foto de una persona viva fue tomada por Louis Daguerre en 1838. Muestra una avenida vacía, excepto por esa persona, durante una tarde en París. Pero hay un aparente misterio en ella: la calle y las aceras deberían haber estado repletas de carros y transeúntes a esa hora del día, pero no se ve nada.

El hombre no estaba solo. Gente y caballos estaban allí en el concurrido Boulevard du Temple, la popular zona done se tomó la foto. Simplemente, no aparecían en la imagen. El tiempo de exposición para procesar la foto y capturar la imagen llevaba siete minutos sin que se moviera nada. Parece que el hombre en la acera estaba solo porque era el único que permanecía quieto; le estaban lustrando las botas.

A veces, la quietud logra lo que el movimiento y el esfuerzo no pueden conseguir. Dios le dice a su pueblo en el Salmo 46:10: «Estad quietos, y conoced que yo soy Dios». Aunque las naciones bramen (v. 6) y la tierra tiemble (v. 2), los que quietamente confían en el Señor descubrirán que Él es un «pronto auxilio en las tribulaciones» (v. 1).

El verbo hebreo traducido «estad quietos» también puede traducirse «dejen de esforzarse». Cuando descansamos en Dios en lugar de depender de nuestros limitados esfuerzos, descubrimos que Él es nuestro «amparo y fortaleza» (v. 1).

Much of the emotional impact of the film, for the audience in 1942, has been attributed to the large proportion of European exiles and refugees who were extras or played minor roles (in addition to leading actors Paul Henreid, Conrad Veidt and Peter Lorre), such as Louis V. Arco, Trude Berliner, Ilka Grünig, Ludwig Stössel, Hans Heinrich von Twardowski, and Wolfgang Zilzer. A witness to the filming of the "duel of the anthems" sequence said he saw many of the actors crying and "realized that they were all real refugees". Harmetz argues that they "brought to a dozen small roles in Casablanca an understanding and a desperation that could never have come from Central Casting". Even though many were Jewish or refugees from the Nazis (or both), they were frequently cast as Nazis in various war films, because of their accents.

🔥UNA DE LAS GRANDES DIFERENCIAS EN ESTE CAPÍTULO 13 DE MORIARTY THE PATRIOT 🔥

En el manga Albert es presentado como la mente maestra principal de todo este arco, William simplemente cumple con su rol de consultante (y por ende apoyo). Por eso en el manga, al final del capítulo 21 (Escándalo en el Imperio Británico -Acto V), en el panel Albert está presentado como la figura principal (el Señor del Crimen), luego le sigue William y Louis no aparece ni en foto.

En el animé, a pesar de que Albert fue el protagonista de este episodio 13, existieron un par de escenas en donde él supuestamente necesitaba sí o sí de William (todo bien con William eh, solamente estoy marcando las diferencias argumentales). Por eso al final del episodio, cuando Sherlock nombra al Señor del Crimen pusieron a William como figura principal, a Albert detrás Y CON LA MISMA POSE QUE TIENE WILLIAM EN EL MANGA, y luego Louis bebé, porque es verdad, si fuera por el manga, a veces se quedaría sin minutos de pantalla, así que se los acepto :v.

Obviamente que cambiarán algunas (muchas cosas) y todo porque NO animaron el capítulo en donde queda justificado por qué Albert también lidera las situaciones. El Señor del Crimen en realidad son ambos, solamente que depende de qué situación se dé uno acciona y el otro hace de soporte AJAJAJAJ...

In a career that spanned only 25 years, reed player Julius Hemphill left an indelible mark with his music, as a player, organizer, composer and mentor. One could focus in on his work with Black Artists Group in St. Louis in the late 1960s, creating a collective that fused music, dance, film, theater and poetry with a sense of social activism and with his Mbari label, a model for artistic self-determination. Or one could jump to his move to New York in the 1970s where he was an active participant in the loft scene, performing solo, as a leader, with dancers and poets, helping to transform the sound of free jazz in collaboration with other Midwest transplants like Charles “Bobo” Shaw, Lester Bowie, Baikida Carroll, Abdul Wadud and Oliver Lake. There’s also his leading role in developing saxophone ensembles, from his appearance on Anthony Braxton’s “Composition 37” along with Oliver Lake and Hamiet Bluiett in 1974 which foreshadowed Hemphill, Lake, Murray and Bluiett’s formation of the World Saxophone Quartet a few years later to his establishment of a sax sextet. There’s the mark he left on musicians who came up under his influence like Tim Berne and Marty Ehrlich. And then there’s his compositions, with acclaimed early pieces like “Dogon A.D.” and “The Hard Blues” to suites like “Roi Boyé and the Gotham Minstrels” or “Flat-out Jump Suite” to “Steppin’” to the through-composed chamber music that he wrote toward the end of his life to Long Tongues: A Saxophone Opera, a large-scale theatrical piece that was performed a handful of times but was never recorded.

But for all that activity, Hemphill’s discography was never extensive, and most of what he put out is now out of print. Which makes this expansive boxed set scrupulously compiled by Marty Ehrlich from Hemphill’s archives at NYU invaluable. Over the course of seven discs, the collection documents Hemphill’s music from 1977 to a posthumous performance of his chamber pieces in 2007 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. Each disc stands on its own. Disc 1 documents performances of ensembles including his potent quartet with Olu Dara, Abdul Wadud and Warren Smith as well as a piece by a rare meeting with John Carter. Disc 2 captures a performance in duo with Abdul Wadud, amongst his most fruitful ongoing partnerships. Disc 3 collects the earliest performances of the box by a trio with Carroll and drummer Alex Cline from tiny venues in New York, Berkeley and Philadelphia in 1977. Disc 4 is given over to through-composed chamber works while disc 5 documents his solos and collaborations with poet K. Curtis Lyle and dramatist Malinké Elliott. Disc 6 is the most varied, collecting a variety of different groups. And Disc 7 closes things out with recordings from Woodstock, NY in 1979 by a previously undocumented group featuring Hemphill, Carroll, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette.

Ehrlich kicks off the in-depth booklet that accompanies the box with the following quote by Hemphill from a 1994 interview in Bomb. “Well, you often hear people nowadays talking about the tradition, tradition, tradition. But they have tunnel vision in this tradition. Because tradition in African-American music is wide as all outdoors.” Each disc of this set gives proof that Hemphill’s music completely embodied that ethos.

Ensembles

Hemphill was always a thoughtful ensemble leader, thinking not only about the blending of sonorities of specific instrumentation but also about the particular voices that his collaborators brought to the mix. Trumpet players, most often Baikida Carroll but also Olu Dara, were chosen as a timbral foil but as importantly for their sense of concise freedom, rich harmonic sensibility, open timing and ability to traverse the snaking open-minded melodicism of the leader’s compositions with aplomb. Hemphill noted about Carroll, “I consider the opportunity to bear witness to the eloquent beauty of Baikida’s music a distinct honor. . . Baikida Carroll is polarized, poised, at a matchless point between lyricism and fire. I hope he remains so.” Cellist Abdul Wadud, whose arch approach toward counter-melody and loping pulse, filling the roll of bass while adding an additional solo voice, was also a crucial member of the saxophonist’s groups. Then there are the drummers he regularly enlisted – Charles “Bobo” Shaw, Phillip Wilson, Warren Smith, a very young Alex Cline – each of whom brought their own unique grasp of malleable propulsion and multi-hued percussive colorations. All of this served as the perfect counterbalance for Hemphill’s biting tone, voluble articulation, multifaceted embrace of open groove, abstracted blues and lithe dynamism as a soloist.

The box is a treasure-trove of unreleased recordings of Hemphill’s groups. Disc 1 contains an extended live set by Olu Dara, Abdul Wadud and Warren Smith from a European tour on the heels of their recording of the oft-overlooked Flat-Out Jump Suite, here, trading the open-ended collective improvisations of the studio recording for fiery readings of two previously unrecorded pieces as well as the breakneck “At Harmony” which Hemphill utilized in various arrangements over the years. “Air Rings” by a quartet with Carroll, Philip Wilson and guitarist Jehri Riley presages the oblique angularities that Hemphill would explore in the 80s with his JAH Band with a heady solo by the trumpet player while also showcasing Wilson’s spry, polyrhythmic sensibility.

Disc 3’s documentation of sets by The Janus Company, a trio with Carroll and a then-21-year-old Cline on drums, is a revelation. The open form of the pieces like “#4” allow for probing playing by all three and the interplay between the two horn players and Cline’s spare, finely-wrought vigor. The disc is capped off by a live recording of a set by the trio joined by Abdul Wadud and here, the music takes on a spirited intensity. The circuitous collective improvisation segues into an abstracted jaunt through “Dogon AD,” a standout of the box.

The final disc of the set captures a live performance by a quartet of Hemphill, Carroll, Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette from 1979 at a small venue in Woodstock, NY when all four were living in the area. Though this was never a regularly working unit, their extended improvisations taking off on three of Hemphill’s pieces are gripping. The four quickly establish a jubilant collective balance, leaving ample room for solos and group interaction. Holland is in fine form and the recording does a great job of capturing his lissome arco playing and gamboling sense of pulse at play off of DeJohnette’s orchestral textures and supple drive. Carroll and Hemphill are strikingly charged for the performance, each delivering torrid solos and reflective ensemble collaboration throughout.

Any assessment of solo saxophone improvisation demands that one spend time spent digging into Hemphill’s discography. With Blue Boyé and Roi Boyé and the Gotham Minstrels, the reed player threw himself into explorations of structures he developed for both unaccompanied and multi-tracked saxophone. The pieces revealed a keen formative ear, stripping his compositional approach to their elemental frameworks. From his early days in St. Louis, Hemphill also dove in to collaborations with poets, pitting his solo excursions against the fueled narratives of writers like Watts Writers Workshop poet K. Curtis Lyle and dramatist Malinké Elliott. Disc 5 begins and ends with solo excursions, bookending live performances of Hemphill with Lyle and Elliott. While the set with Lyle is gripping throughout, the set with Elliott is dazzling, capturing multi-tracked musings constructed from “Bells,” a recording of a structure of resonant metal played with mallets and sticks at a salvage yard in Oregon, Hemphill’s horn and Elliott’s readings of text that draws on Ralph Ellison’s novel Invisible Man as a meditation on the Soweto Youth Uprising in 1976. The 22-minute suite moves across five “voices,” from orator to hipster to preacher, each positing a differing viewpoint of underlying dissent and frustration, notably the chilling skronk of “Soweto 1976 A Suite in Five Voices Part V Carnival Barker.” Listening to the closing “Solo Soprano Saxophone with Bells recording” is a teaser for a full-blown album that was never to be realized.

Hemphill made a handful of great duo recordings including meetings with Oliver Lake, Warren Smith and Peter Kowald. But his partnership with Abdul Wadud was one of his most long-lasting and most fruitful. The two made two recordings, both of which are long out-of-print, so it is particularly welcome that Disc 2 contains an entire set of their partnership. While the provenance of the recordings is unknown, Ehrlich found the cello parts for five of the pieces which appear to be written specifically for the duo. Ehrlich describes the pieces in the booklet for the set, noting that “Chromatic, open-ended melodic lines are placed in contrasting juxtapositions. The music has a sense of abstraction, while individual gestures evoke melodies known and felt. All of this sets up a charged emotional space for the improvisations to unfold.” The two navigate the countervailing parts with spirited zeal, moving seamlessly between unrestrained melodicism, bounding groove, thorny angularity, infectious free funk and hurtling intensity. They are entirely in synch throughout, their voices intertwined, prodding the pieces forward while leaving ample space for each other’s arcing flights. Hemphill touches on free-bop runs at times while Wadud moves in and out of the pocket, tossing off flittering pizzicato lines then diving off into flights of fiery arco. While all of the pieces are prime Hemphill, Ehrlich notes that none of the pieces from this set appear anywhere else in the archive or on commercial recordings, another element that makes this disc significant.

Composition

During Hemphill’s last decade, he received a few commissions to compose music for chamber ensembles, though these pieces were scantily recorded or performed. Disc 4 documents two performances of these works, one from 1987 at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and another from 1981 at Soundscape in Manhattan. The disc kicks off with “Parchment,” a solo piano piece written for and performed by his partner Ursula Oppens. Hemphill rarely utilized piano in his groups, but here, he plies shard-like chords as fragmented, lyrical motifs emerge with unhurried deliberation. Hemphill’s arrangements of Mingus pieces for string quartet included here might seem an anomaly until one thinks about the arrangements of Ellington/Strayhorn pieces he did for World Saxophone Quartet. Recasting Mingus’ potent melodies for string quartet is a bit of a mixed bag. While he revels in the lush harmonic depth of the instrumentation, it’s only on his chart for “Better Get Hit in Your Soul” that things really click due in main part to the funky cello line that goads things along. The two extended pieces for mixed wind and brass quintet are much stronger. The expanded instrumental palette offers the composer timbral depth with John Purcell and Ehrlich moving back and forth between saxophones and clarinets, the pairing of Purcell on oboe with Janet Grice’s bassoon and trumpet player Bruce Purse and Ray Anderson on trombone and tuba filling out the tonal range. The groups attacks the arrangements with unbridled swagger, especially when the pieces open up for sections of improvisation which the group jumps on. Hemphill honed these skills with his large ensemble, his saxophone sextet and in his piece Long Tongues and one wonders where this avenue might have led had he lived longer.

Any of these discs, taken separately, would be a welcome addition to Hemphill’s discography. Taken together, they provide a wide-ranging, illuminating view even to those who’ve long immersed themselves in his music. Ehrlich concludes the booklet notes with this quote from the reed player. “This music is blues-driven. In terms of what has gone on before. Now where it goes from here — where it is going from here — may not be the same thing, ’cause it has to change, or it’ll die in my opinion. You know what I mean? The traditions keep on turning over! People keep looking rearward for the tradition. The tradition in this music is forward! Forward! Not what you did last week, but this week! You see what I’m saying? Now . . . that’s a hard road.” Diving in to the seven discs of The Boyé Multi-National Crusade for Harmony, one is struck by how much Hemphill championed that tenet throughout his career and, indeed, drove the tradition forward in all of his artistic pursuits.

Lo increíble de Ordet

De todas mis películas favoritas, creo que es Ordet (1954), de Carl Th. Dreyer, la que menos entiendo. No es que no sea capaz de seguir perfectamente su reposada acción, ni que sus personajes me resulten lejanos; lo son, pero los comprendo perfectamente. Es una película transparente en grado máximo; no tiene un plano turbio. Es más, haciendo justicia a su título —que se debe traducir, más fiel, más religiosamente también, por El verbo, no por La palabra-—, es una película suficientemente explícita, y cuanto en ella se dice está hecho visible, encarnado, con la fuerza precisamente de lo evidente.

Por eso, aunque no la entienda —como entiendo, digamos, El río, de Renoir, o Germania, anno zero, de Rossellini—, puedo seguirla perfectamente: veo todo lo que ocurre, aunque racionalmente lo dé por imposible. Y no es, precisamente, una película que use trucajes a lo Georges Méliès ni los efectos especiales que hoy invaden todo para crear en la pantalla una realidad simulada o puramente ficticia, sino que todo está filmado, con la simplicidad de un documental, como si cuanto vemos estuviese sucediendo realmente ante una cámara que, sin apenas moverse, sin distorsionar o deformar nada, sin intervenir en la acción ni imponernos un punto de vista subjetivo, se limitase a registrar, con una neutralidad plenamente realista, tan realista como en las breves piezas del gran Louis Lumière, esos planos tan bien compuestos, tan certeramente encuadrados.

Lo que de verdad me intriga, desde que la vi por vez primera, cada vez que he vuelto a contemplarla, es por qué, a pesar de todo, me la creo, y además, para mayor asombro, me conmueve. No son la mayoría de sus personajes de la misma materia o modo de ser o de entender las cosas de mis amigos. De hecho, uno de ellos es tratado —con miramientos y consideración, pero con alarma y cierto azoramiento— como un alienado, gravemente perturbado (aunque no por ello menos querido por sus familiares), varios me parecen excesivamente rígidos e intransigentes como para caerme simpáticos o aprobar su conducta. La mujer que, como siempre en Dreyer, acaba por constituirse en centro de la acción, Inger (la maravillosa Birgitte Federspiel), es encantadora y en algún sentido admirable, pero demasiado modosa, casera y sumisa para resultarme realmente atractiva (no tiene la gracia de la doctora Cartwright encarnada por Anne Bancroft en Siete mujeres, de John Ford, ni el sentido del humor de la Slim que creó Lauren Bacall en Tener y no tener, de Hawks, ni siquiera la intransigencia impávida de Gertrud).

Estoy convencido de que Dreyer ha seguido fielmente la obra teatral de Kaj Munk —aunque no se me ha ocurrido tratar de leerla—, pero sospecho que, narrando la misma historia, no me interesaría gran cosa, del mismo modo que, si alguien me hubiera contado la película de Dreyer, no hubiera sido capaz de imaginar que pudiese gustarme tanto y que esté dispuesto a verla cuantas veces se ponga a mi alcance en V. O. subtitulada en un idioma que entienda. Conste que no estoy diciendo que el argumento de Ordet carezca de importancia; es seguro que a Dreyer le importaba mucho, y eso lo comprendo cuando veo su película. Insinúo, simplemente, que si él creyó que valía la pena convertir ese drama escénico en cine, y ello, además, a pesar de que ya lo hubiese hecho sólo once años antes Gustaf Molander, es porque, a su entender, tanto a la pieza como a su primera versión les faltaba precisamente lo que hace de la de Dreyer una de las más impresionantes y emocionantes obras maestras que ha dado el cine.

Lo que, presumo, Dreyer ha conseguido añadirle a Munk es algo, por supuesto, específicamente cinematográfico, aunque en un grado que no está al alcance de cualquiera ni el cine confiere automáticamente. Y adviértase que no se trata de la presencia, que en la escena teatral es muy superior, ni tampoco de la sensación de que las cosas que vemos están sucediendo en ese momento, porque eso es lo que realmente ocurre en el teatro, cada vez que se representa una obra, mientras que en el cine, por mucho que repitamos que es el arte del presente, y que para nosotros, los espectadores, lo sea cada vez que asistimos a la proyección de la película (sobre todo a partir de la segunda vez, porque la primera, como no sabemos qué va a suceder o, por lo menos, cómo va a desarrollarse lo que quizá presentimos, hay algo de futuro intuido), se trata en realidad de un presente ya sucedido (incluso hace muchos años, si la película es antigua: estarán muertos todos los actores, y podemos ser conscientes de ello) y registrado en el celuloide para siempre: para colmo, casi siempre aunque no en Ordet, filmada en largos planos-secuencia que recogen en continuidad, sin cortes, grandes bloques de espacio y tiempo, se trata de un presente ilusorio, compuesto por fragmentos rodados en momentos y hasta lugares diferentes, y reconstruidos en el montaje para dar esa impresión de continuidad y fluidez que es consustancial al cine tradicional.

Tampoco reside esta superioridad en los actores: aunque los de Dreyer están inmejorablemente seleccionados y guiados, y su difícil labor no presenta el menor resquicio, la menor vacilación en la que pueda echar raíces nuestra incredulidad o escepticismo, no cabe descartar que unos actores —o estos mismos, ya que dudo que nadie pudiera vivir sólo del cine en la Dinamarca de los años cincuenta— pudieran hacerlo igual de bien en el escenario. De hecho, los hay que han acusado al último Dreyer de teatralidad, sobre todo a propósito de Gertrud y, en menor medida, de Ordet (puesto que sería ridículo pretender tal cosa de Dies Irae, Vampyr o La pasión de Juana de Arco), basándose sin duda en su origen literario, en el reducido número de personajes y escenarios (casi siempre interiores), en la abundancia e importancia de los diálogos, en el relativo estatismo de la cámara, en la tendencia al plano general y la escasez de encuadres muy cercanos, en la parsimonia de los movimientos y el nulo naturalismo de gestos y ademanes, etcétera.

Naturalmente, y aunque es muy cierto, y deliberado por su parte, que el Dreyer maduro, tras el virtuosismo de su última obra muda y de la primera parcialmente sonorizada, jamás alardea de la movilidad de la cámara ni pretende deslumbrarnos con efectos cinematográficos que, obviamente, no son más que excesos, a veces caricaturas de las posibilidades expresivas de este medio, es puro simplismo considerar importaciones teatrales algunos de los primitivos rasgos del cine, los que fundamentaron un lenguaje clásico cuyos avances desde Griffith son puramente técnicos o totalmente epidérmicos, y que no por antiguos han dejado de ser utilizables y eficaces, y constituyen, por tanto, aún hoy, opciones alternativas perfectamente válidas: quiero decir que el cine sonoro permite respetar el tiempo real de las acciones, incluso si se hace largo; que desde la llegada del sonido, el diálogo es un recurso natural, que permite ahorrar tiempo de rodaje y de narración, que puede aclarar o matizar cosas o confundirlas del todo; que nada obliga a fragmentar el espacio, multiplicar los ángulos insólitos, buscar encuadres retorcidos, no dar más que un punto de vista o impulsar a la cámara al baile de San Vito; que la estructura basada en la escena y la elipsis, dentro de los márgenes de tiempo normales, acaba por semejarse a la división en tres actos que predomina en el teatro.

Precisamente, lo que es puro cine, y además, en este caso, muy gran cine, es algo quizá difuso, difícil de señalar con precisión, pero que vemos y experimentamos, sin darnos exactamente cuenta de en qué consiste, de dónde procede esa fuerza, aunque lo estemos contemplando. Ese algo es una adecuada combinación, nada teórica, de varios factores: la dicción y los desplazamientos de los actores, el ritmo al que se mueven, hablan o se emocionan, desde luego; pero también la luz, el tamaño de los planos y su duración, y la distancia desde la que el cineasta mira los hechos y nos permite asistir a ellos, y a los temores o ilusiones de los personajes.

Esta metodología, que es la del realismo —sin otra relación que las de contraste, distanciamiento o reacción con ese naturalismo de serie que suele confundir la imagen con la realidad—, hace que nos sintamos dispuestos a jugar el juego de confiar en lo que Dreyer nos muestra y cuenta con absoluta convicción.

Ese crédito que la honradez cinematográfica de Dreyer nos impulsa a otorgarle permite que vayamos aceptando lo que sucede ante nuestros ojos, por increíble que a priori pudiera parecernos, sin impugnar cada imagen, cada frase, cada episodio inverosímil. Lo que no creemos normal, incluso lo que consideramos imposible, está sucediendo, sin que nada nos parezca falso, con la misma naturalidad que podrían desarrollarse las más rutinarias escenas de la vida cotidiana de cualquier familia, sin distinción de lugares ni de épocas.

Nada es subrayado, nada parece trucado, no hay por parte de Dreyer intención proselitista ni esfuerzo por convencernos de nada. No hay retórica, no hay estrategias publicitarias para hacernos tragar la píldora. De hecho, Dreyer parece indiferente a que demos por bueno lo que muestra: se limita a hacérnoslo ver, sin importarle demasiado que le sigamos. Cuenta, a lo sumo, con que habrá conseguido interesarnos lo suficiente por los personajes como para que sintamos por ellos simpatía, como para que nos importen sus penas y alegrías y llegue a ser asunto nuestro su destino. Y es cierto que, al cabo de un cierto tiempo, nos hemos familiarizado tanto con Johannes (Preben Lerdorff Rye) que ha dejado de parecemos un loco, e incluso ni siquiera le miramos con esa mezcla de lástima, condescendencia y horror con que se trata a menudo a los enfermos; hemos descubierto que el viejo Morten Borgen (Henrik Malberg), más que un fanático y taciturno puritano (bien alegre y abierto si se compara con Peter, el sastre), es un cascarrabias lleno de remordimiento y ansioso de mimos: conocemos ya tan bien a Inger que estamos convencidos de que tiene, además de bondad, paciencia y mano izquierda, una buena dosis de inteligencia, energía y humor, y le hemos tomado cariño; descubrimos que su marido, Mikkel (Emil Hass Christensen), no es tan soso ni tan frío como pensamos al comienzo, y que es sensible no sólo a la belleza interior de Inger, sino a la física también, la niña de ambos, Maren, es de lo más normal, y la única, y sin esfuerzo, que, junto con su madre, sabe tratar a Johannes, y darle la confianza que tanto necesita. Por eso nos importan, y queremos con ellos y por todos ellos que se cumpla el imposible deseo que comparten de que la muerte injusta y absurda de Inger sea reversible. Cuando Inger vuelve a la vida, desde el otro mundo —y se nota en su cara, en su actitud, que es una revenante, una aparecida, con un elemento fantasmal que hace que la resucitada no sea ya exactamente la misma de antes—, en lugar de sonreír con incredulidad, nos alegramos. Además, hemos sido testigos del milagro, y no importa cuáles sean nuestras creencias: si algunas religiones mantienen que sus fundadores o dioses hicieron, excepcionalmente, milagros muy selectivos, no sé de ninguna que se atreva a decir que son hoy posibles, cualquier día, con cualquier persona sin importancia más que para los suyos. En Ordet una muerta resucita. Lo hemos visto, y no queremos dudarlo. No lo discutimos; todo lo contrario: lo celebramos.
