More about my doll show haul for Feb ‘24:

Angel, my Samantha look-a-like, likes to collect her clothes. They’re agender, have shorter hair and non pinwheel eyes, but they rock her looks anyway. I got the PC cranberry dress last year, and the arrival dress and beforever cranberry dress this time around.

I also got Luciana’s NASA flight suit, but homegirl is too busy slaying in her sparkly dress, Claudie’s fur coat and beads, and Addy’s boots to change rn. Maybe later lol. I got the dress from @dolls-and-cats last year!

Claudie changed into Maryellen’s pink dress to sing that one Demi Lovato song about wearing converse, and here is Addy in all her loveliness in her new blue ensemble. I may well try and re-create this look (minus a few of the more fiddly furbelows) for my shop, as well as produce a more simplistic version.

Miss Lizzie got to wear a Mimi Original for the first time! She is borrowing Josefina’s Regency era autumnal plaid gown. She came in the undergarments on the right, but we had a hard time getting the chemise off. No idea how that was constructed and put on in the first place…

Y’all, why did I think Felicity had red hair? Her hair is brown. Completely brown. Not even reddish brown. It’s just straight brown.

I have been less active here this past year because I was finishing up my degree, studying for and taking my boards, and working an unhealthy amount at my last position. I found a new place now, and I am trying to improve my work life balance, so I will hopefully be engaging more with my hobbies in the coming months. I’m even going to try making a (non OC) cosplay for the first time since 2019! [hmu for details if you like witch hat atelier/ tongari boushi no atellier!!]

Happy Halloween!

Hailey is dressed up as a witch! (Hailey gets a photo alone bc she’s been wearing this outfit since August)

The World by Us girls decided to go as different decades! Maritza as an 80’s exercise enthusiast, Evette as a 70’s hippie, and Makena as a Roaring 20’s dancer.

Amara is a pirate, while Jess is going as Elizabeth Schuyler. (I’ve always thought that Jess looks like Phillipa Soo from the original cast when her hair is down). And Charlotte is wearing the Grecian Goddess outfit.

Courtney is of course Crystal Starshooter, Maryellen is a cowboy, and Julie decided to reuse her pioneer dress to be Laura Ingles.

Finally Angie is a flapper, Luci is an astronaut, and Lindsey is ready for a 1950s Sock Hop!

4/14/2024: Happy birthday, Joss!

April is a busy month for doll birthdays. Rebecca's and Addy's (and a couple of the girls we don't have yet) were earlier in the month, and Molly's is coming up. Today, though, we're (and the other modern girls, and a dog [possibly the scruffiest imaginable Wheaten Terrier Puppy] that we named Parker Posey because she poses, not realizing that there's a canonical dog named Barker Posey) celebrating Joss!

Joss herself is wearing the dress and shoes from the Sparkle and Shine outfit; Kanani is wearing Lea's Meet dress (which she came to us in) and some blue and pink flats that I cannot for the life of me figure out which outfit they came from; Luciana is wearing her Meet Outfit; May is wearing an outfit by dollcatwalk on Etsy; Corinne is wearing the Weekend Fun Outfit II; Kavi is wearing her Meet Outfit.

i really want to dress up my dolls in halloween costumes, but i can never decide for the girls that don’t have “canon” costumes what they would want to dress up in and what would be (at least somewhat) historically accurate for the time. 😅

The most Karen of Barbies that ever Karened 🙄🙄

She is the Helena Bohnam Carter as Cinderella Fairy Godmother Barbie rebodied onto a Model Muse body, wearing a Luciana Silkstone outfit.

I'm honestly not feeling either this doll or the outfit. I really dislike everything about this dress and suit, but I bought it (and paid a ton of money for it 😭😭) because I also had the Fiorella and Dulcissima outfits (and I yet have to buy the Principessa dress as well). I love Helena so I got this doll, but I've disliked this head from the moment I laid eyes on it and will probably eventually replace her with another one.

Doll house photos under the read more

Alright so I haven’t had time to buy contact paper for the flooring, or figure out wallpaper, or even finish decorating some of these rooms but here’s the current progress!

First up, Kits room! Kit, Ruthie and Sterling (played by Eli) are plotting their next adventure!

Below that we have Samantha’s room, where Rebecca is also hanging out! I got Samantha’s bed, nightstand and Clara (plus the dress that Nellie is in) from a really great Facebook marketplace find! Also I wanted Rebecca’s menorah to be on display until I have the space for a room specifically for Rebecca!

Next up we have the parlor! At the moment it’s Elizabeth and Felicity taking tea in there (with Lydia serving tea) but I plan to switch between it being for Elizabeth and Felicity, Caroline and Lydia, & Cecile and Marie-Grace! So my goal is to try and get the back walls looking similar to Caroline’s parlor! Also I don’t know if I’ve properly introduced Lydia because I got her in the same week as Lindsey and Emily (I didn’t intend to buy 3 dolls that week lol), but this is my gorgeous truly me #21 that I found for pretty cheap on Mercari about a month or 2 ago.

Then on the other bookcase we have Courtney’s bedroom! I plan to move the shelf above this up to give it a higher ceiling and set out more of Courtney’s sleepover stuff but for now her and Abby are enjoying just hanging out!

Above that we have the game room, which currently only has my GOTY’s on display. Joss and Corrine are in a heated game of air hockey, while Kailey and Lindsey are on the computer. I was shocked to see the twin’s computer at the benefit sale this past year and I’m soooo glad I picked it up!

Then finally we have the room that I plan to change out for different scenes. Right now it’s a camping scene. Originally it just had Nicki, Mia and Sprocket, but my mom was like “you should add Luciana and her telescope!” So now Luci is third wheeling Mia and Nicki’s camping date 😂 (did I mention my Nicki and Mia are dating? Bc they’re dating)

I can’t wait to figure out wallpaper and flooring but that’ll probably take a few weeks since I know I’m traveling next weekend, and then pride is the weekend after that. (Yes I know it’s October but they wait til it’s cooler out where I live bc it’s unsafe to hold pride in the middle of summer bc of the heat). But hopefully I’ll have some wallpaper and flooring done by Halloween!

We live within the path of totality, and plan to watch the eclipse from our own driveway. The eclipse parties and special events sound like fun, but the predicted crowds and traffic jams are anxiety-inducing for me. I will be very happy sitting in a lawn chair with some Chex Mix and maybe a gin and tonic. Hoping for clear skies!

Luciana is very excited about the eclipse and will watch with me and my family. She has her own eclipse glasses and snack.

Had to pull an all nighter before a sleep study (that got canceled last minute anyways) so I decided to take the time to do a group photo. Most of the girls are in Halloween and fall attire and ready for their upcoming photo shoots. Just got a couple more to change and a few outfits to make.
