Requests (5/23/2021)
Hi lovelies! I’ve been getting so many requests & I’m working hard to get all of them in the queue. Thanks for sending them my way! I’m writing to let you know that the queue is now full until the end of June. I was able to get every requests from my May 8th post in there except for a few. Requests from May 8th for captions featuring Katy Perry, Jenna Fischer, Marisol Nichols, Addison Rae, Ariana Grande, Erin Kellyman, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Jhene Aiko, & Kirstin Maldonado will be posted in early July.
But there have been an absolute ton of requests since then too, yay! So I’m listing all the requests that I haven’t gotten to below. If you made a request but don’t see it below that might be for a few reasons. 1) I’ve written it already and it will be posted in June. 2) It’s one of the requests I posted on May 8th so I won’t talk about it here. 3) I considered it a demand not a request (for example, I received two that said “Anything with,” that wasn’t really a request just telling me to do it. Sorry if this bothers some of you but it is an issue with me so make sure you word your requests AS requests). Either way, thanks for the love, lovelies! :D

Could you do one with either Kelley O’hara or Alex Morgan from the USWNT about a guy soccer player watching the US win the world cup and then want to be them or something like that?
I actually know who both those are (shockingly enough, I don’t really follow sports) so sure thing!

Could you do lorengrey captions? She’s so hot

Hi I just had an idea for a game you could do. It could be where someone has to say as a boy what they’re like physically in stages. So first stage is hair color for example, second stage could be height, third stage could be body type, etc. An example would be if I was a black hair, short height, thick body type, I would match up with someone like Nicki Minaj. Just an idea which you could extend on. Hopefully it makes sense. I appreciate you!
I actually have a game like this mapped out called “Build a Sissy” where you choose age, hair color, and bra size, but it would take a LOT of work to make so I haven’t written it yet. Maybe some day though. :)

I would love to see a Tori Kelly caption. Her hair and body are not typical but beautiful for a white girl. I say that last sentence respectfully. I think having a caption with her would be great
Sure thing! Tori Kelly is a cutie. :)

I already know that this request is probably gonna be a No but I still have to ask whats the ruling on GCI enhanced celebrities like Taylor swift from Cats?  Or is that too much like "Furry" stuff. Now I'm Feeling this will be a No for multiple reasons
So it is not an issue with CGI “enhanced” celebrities but for Cats it is because I do not have a Furry fetish and I get uncomfortable thinking about writing caps for it. But I write caps with “manips” all the time (photoshopped images of celebs) so I’m not ruling out CGI enhanced celebs all together.

Hi big fan of your caps!! Do you think you could do a cap where a football player wants to go to the NFL but gets hurt, so they turn him into a female commentator, maybe Lauren Rutledge? If you don’t know her, she’s been a college football reporter for awhile and was also a former Miss Florida. Anyways I just think any guy would be lucky to be turned into her and I love your caps keep up the great work!!
Me: *googles Lauren Rutledge to see if it’s who I’m thinking of* How do I know who this is? Anyways, yes I can write this. :)
...for some reason there are no GIFs of her though so I’m just gonna move on.

Hi I'm the one that requested the LONG list of celebs I'm still really sorry about that I didnt realize how many it actually was till I looked back so I wanna retract some for your sake tell ya what if you havent done any already just do the ones that are specifically marked (as in the ones detailed by movie or show theyre in) the ones that are just names you can leave out i knoe its still alot but hopefully that takes some weight off of ya sorry again
You don’t have to be sorry! Like I said, in the future I’d ask that folks limit requests to no more than 3 celebs at a time but you didn’t know that. I’d never said that before. I typed up every celebrity and they’re going to be sprinkled in during June. Hope you like them! :)

Hey, not really an ask, but something I needed to share
I'm the one that asked for the Stephanie Beatriz caption from a whole back, and I absolutely loved how it turned out. Each time you roll out a new caption is like a small thrill to me and I read them right as they're released.
Now this wouldn't be an ask if I wasn't asking something, right? Well, next month sees the release of the "In the Heights" movie, and there's an opportunity there to do a series of captions using stephanie Beatriz from that same movie.
In conclusion, I love your captions so much, you're amazing!
Awww, this is such a sweet message. Thank you! And YAAASSSSS! Ever since the first trailer for In the Heights dropped I was like, “I must write a caption with her in this!” So you can imagine how fun it’s been waiting this entire time. *eye twitches*. We’ll have to wait until the movie comes out for me to be sure I can find a good image but this IS a caption I want to write. :)

Hi I just recently came across your blog and fell in love with it!! The caption with the football player being turned into Bella Thorne is one of my favorites!! I’d love so much if you could do a sequel or something to that cap it was so amazing and I need to know what else happens to “her”. I’m not sure if this is possible or if you even do sequels but this cap was great and I look forward to all the others!!!
Glad you like it! I’m always looking for sequel captions to write on Throwback Thursday so you’ll get this for sure. :)

How about instead of removing the captions with Demi in them ,the images of Demi were just replaced with another celeb and if Demi is mentioned by name in the caption then that could be edited  to mention a different celeb. I respect Demi's decision I do but lets not lose some well made captions. Also if you could please make a caption where Amy Adams feminises a fan and raises them as her daughter and Kristen Stewart makes you her submissive wife that would be appreciated. I'm a fan of them.
So about the Demi Lovato captions: I understand your feelings but I’m still going to delete the original captions. Because of how my captions are made I can’t just go back in & swap out an image or edit the text, I have to remake it from the ground up. I am hoping to do that with some (maybe all) of the Demi Lovato captions & re-publish them, but I’m still going to delete the originals.
I can do the Kristen Stewart one for sure and I’ll TRY to do the Amy Adams one I just am not 100% sure I can find a pic for that but we’ll see. :)

If it’s possible before your summer hiatus could you do a caption with Amanda Crew (silicon valley, sex drive)?
I will do one with Amanda Crew but I can’t commit to doing it before the hiatus.
Tumblr media
About the hiatus: I don’t know when it’s going to be. I want to TRY to make it to at least July 18th because I have a specific game in mind I want to post for 5 years of Celebrity TG Captions games, but after that I have no idea. I’ve been writing caps for a longer stretch of time since normal since I’ve switched to a part-time blog so I might burn out at any second but for right now I’ve still got some juice.

(Welcome to the daydream drawing board, a tag where I share some my newest ideas not all of these ideas will be thought out--mostly just quick points-- but it's just nice to have them some where...oof)
TW: angst, mention of domestic abuse, child abuse, alcohol mentioned, father mentioned, bullying and guilt...
(Be sure you're mentally ready, you can come back later or take breaks while reading, it's kind of long...oof)
The most recent concept I dreamed up is about a couple consisting of a reformed/"retired" highschool bully/jock who falls for the new nerdy woman in town, this paracosm is mildly inspired by A Silent Voice, Bojack Horseman and Strange things (but only like a little bit)
Beau
He was the high school quarterback and star player
He was super popular and everyone wanted to be around him
His fave after school activities where smoking under the blenchers (after practice), going out to parties, making out with hotest girls in school (usually the new girls), bullying the weaker "outcast" kids, flirting with older women into getting him and his friends alcohol, and other dumb jock stuff
Beau always made fun of the weird nerdy kids; giving them swirlies, stuffing them in lockers, hiding their belongs (glasses, inhalers, backpacks, calculators, handle gaming devices etc), and throwing a few knuckle sandwiches at them on his worst days.
Beau bullied other because he had a rough home life, his father was abusive and usually came home angry and would take out his anger on the family (, mostly Beau's mom)
Beau's parents had him at young age, Beau's dad had big dreams at becoming a famous author but had a hard time getting his books picked up and blamed his career failures on Beau
Beau would try to protect his family from his dad's outburst but the only person he could protect successful was his little brother, Devin.
When Beau would try to protect his mother he would get brutally beaten by his dad in process, sometimes he would get hit so bad that he blacked out, because of this Beau's mom would tell him go to the treehouse and take his little brother with him in hopes they wouldn't hear their parents fight
In the treehouse, Beau would read books to Devin to distract him from what was happening, one of Devin's favorite books was "Is there a horse in your house?" A simple book about looking for a horse in a house, Devin would always find this book funny and hearing his little brother's laugh made Beau feel better, so Beau wouldn't mind having to read it over and over again. (This was back when Beau was in early middle school and Dev was in kindergarten)
Beau and Dev knew it was "safe" to come out, when their mother said dinner was ready, but there would be some days where they end up sleeping in the treehouse and waking up to their mom telling them breakfast was ready and they had to eat quietly while their dad slept
It was in middle school, Beau started to bully other kids, he liked the power and feeling of being able to fight someone and win, to be the one to be feared instead of being afaird, it was addicting
Football became a better way to cope with his feeling but he still bullied none the less.
Football was the only time where his dad wasn't as much of jerk, it was almost like Beau's dad was felt like an actual father when watching football, and being on the football team was an achievement his dad was actually proud of beau for, so thanksgiving and super bowl season was a somewhat peaceful time
Around sophomore year his mother finally got away from her abusive husband, soon after Beau's mom fell in love with a nice man, who actually cared about her and they got married and had a daughter together who became Beau's little sister, Carrie whom he loves dearly..
Beau is super over protective of his family (protecting both his siblings from other bullies, ironically), to the point where even when his mom found a new lover, Beau still keep his guard up and because of this his step dad is kind of intimidated by him
Beau was able to bond with his step dad over cars and mechanics, a topic Beau was obsessed about since middle school because he would dream of building a car that would be able to drive him and his family far away from his father as possible without stopping
Beau's step dad owns a gas station/mechanics shop, Beau would help out in the shop on weekends when he was free and occasionally steal beer for parties.
Despite his bully/typical jock persona Beau is actually quite patient especially when it comes to younger kids
Due how stressful her home life was, Beau would take it upon himself to look after his little brother and do chores around the house when his mom was unable to, he would even cook dinner and breakfast (a skill he learned to do at an earlier age compared to his peers), his dad often called him a "Sissy" for doing so..
Beau never asked for allowance, since his family was kind of tight on money he felt bad for asking, so he just took lunch money and allowance from the kids he bullied. Money would go to grocery money, money to buy gifts for his mother/brother, money to help with rent , or money just to buy the new NFL game or some alcohol or cigarettes.
In his high school days , sometimes when Beau didn't want to deal with his dad/home life he would crash at friends place or stay over after a party but he would call up to make sure his little brother/mother/sister were okay
Beau started smoking on a dare, when he realized it kind help ease the mental pain, he started doing it for real (same with drinking)
Even Beau liked to drink, he never drove drunk or let his friends drive drunk, if was a party mostly consisting of his friends he would try his best to be the sober one to drive everyone home
Beau was set to be a big football star once he graduated highschool he even got into an ivy league school, but there was something stopping him from focusing fully on his studies, (that and the fact he kind of cheated since he let the nerds he bullied do most of his homework since he didn't have time or just do lazy to actually do it himself in highschool), so he ended up flunking out
During the time he dropped out his step dad needed an extra hand at the shop, so he thought might as well go back home
At first Beau thought his family would be disappointed in him but they couldn't be more happy that he was back home especially his siblings
It was when he returned to his hometown that he finally realized what was feeling was haunting him this whole time it was the feeling of guilt he had gotten from being a bully for so long. Since most of his jock friends were busy with their college career, it left him with little to no friends in his hometown, Everytime he saw a familiar face around town it was usually one of his former victims, seeing them would give him a weird sick oozey feeling in his stomach, and it didn't help that his step dad ran popular mechanic shop that was frequented by the locals, the feeling of guilt got so bad at times, he would stay home from work but wouldn't really tell his parents why out of fear that they would hate him.
So, when Beau meets the new woman in town, Bonnie who works at the comic book shop/arcade/maid cafe, who becomes the only person Beau can talk to in town besides his family, and he starts to fall for her. He feels conflicted because this would be someone he would totally bully in high school, but shes really so nice and sweet to him, does he really deserve girl that nice, what happens if she finds out about his past, will Bonnie still love him.
Beau makes it his mission to try and make amends with the people he has bullied over the years, at first he does this on his own (with a little help for Dev whose middle school age now), without Bonnie knowing but one of the nerds used to bully kind of sorta also gets a crush on Bonnie and feels like she's too good for Beau, and tries to expose him for the "fiend" he is. This leads to Beau having mental break down when he knows Bonnie knows about his past, but she comforts him and accepts him for who he is, and helps him try to make amends with his past victims...
Some people accept Beau's apology right away (understanding his background), others take a while, some don't forgive Beau at all, which he respectfully understands, he was kind of jerk
Oof, this is prolly gonna be the most heavy paracosm I have if I continue it, but if I do post about it's mostly gonna be fluffy light stuff--nerd/jock dynamic interactions, along with toll/smoll dynamic interactions. OH by the way this paracosm is set in the 80/90s maybe early 2000s because they don't use smartphones in this paracosm it's mostly payphones, landlines, VHS tapes, DVDs and tape records (but I will use modern music if and when I make a playlist, so it might be a mixed timeline) also I don't have a name for this paracosm might edit one in later...

Roosevelt “Rosey” Grier was born in Georgia in 1932, and was named after president Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He played football in high school and college and then made a name for himself in the 1950s and 1960s as an NFL player for the New York Giants and then the Los Angeles Rams. As a Rams player he was one of what was called “The Fearsome Foursome”, considered to be one of the best defensive lines in pro football history.
Grier enjoyed crochet, knitting, and needlepoint, activities he took up in the late 1960s after retiring from football. On January 1, 1973 he published Rosey Grier’s Needlepoint for Men. In November of 1974, his needlepoint was featured on the cover of the renowned Saturday Evening Post. He was also involved in Marlo Thomas’s children’s entertainment project, Free to Be... You and Me, performing the song “It’s All Right to Cry” in a 1974 television special.
“Needlepoint for Men fits slyly into the American cultural zeitgeist of 1973. That same year, the first Whitney Biennial featured textile works by Brenda Miller and Jackie Winsor, sports fans witnessed the famous “Battle of the Sexes” tennis match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King, and the movie Coffy, a touchstone blaxploitation film, was released—starring Pam Grier, who plays a nurse turned vigilante.
Rosey Grier’s revolutionary aims are made clear in “Chapter 13: Other Men in Needlepoint.” Grier is brutally honest, discussing the shaming he received for his needlepoint, including numerous harassing phone calls. Naming and quoting friends and football players, Grier charges them with a kind of tacit homophobia: “cut that crap, Ro, you’ll have everyone who thought football players were rough and tough, looking at us like we are sissies or something else.”
Don’t cry. Rosey has all the answers. In time his shade-throwing football buddies all end up in his ever-growing sewing circle: “Every one of them does needlepoint now.”
Dedicated to his son, with a touching poem, the book concludes with a treatment on how to foster a boy’s engagement with craft by commanding fathers to take their sons to the craft store. Needlepoint’s basic techniques are aggregated into a very personal manifesto about the power of fiber art, friendship, and overcoming gender repression. With defiant optimism, Grier effectively exploits the media of his time and power of his personal fame to show he can needlepoint wherever he wants to, and you can too.”

Steelers Franco Harris's Reach Extended to Wheeling, Women’s Football
Tumblr media
Females and football? The legendary Franco Harris once had his doubts. The passing of the Hall of Fame running back of the Pittsburgh Steelers was revealed early this morning by his son, Bok, according to The Associated Press, and the news shocked Wheeling resident Gene Fahey, his wife Candy, and his wife’s daughter, Sissy George. The three attended a dinner in Franco’s honor this past week at the Pittsburgh Marriott near the Pittsburgh International Airport. Harris ran for more than 12,000 yards and won four Super Bowls with the Steelers during the dynasty years in the 1970s. His death comes two days before the 50th anniversary of the ‘Immaculate Reception’, an improbable catch against the Oakland Raiders in 1972. Harris was to have his No. 32 retired by the Steelers, too, this weekend during halftime of Pittsburgh’s home game against the Raiders on Christmas Eve. Fahey, regional vice-president, and general manager of Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory in West Virginia and Ohio, had the opportunity to speak with Harris at length and one topic was the Hall of Famer’s support of the Pittsburgh Passion, an all-female football team that plays home games in the Imperial community of the Pittsburgh area. “It was a special dinner for Franco this past Saturday evening, and we were lucky enough to be assigned seats at Franco’s table,” Fahey explained. “It was in honor of the Steelers retiring his No. 32, and it is also the anniversary of the ‘Immaculate Reception.’ He and his wife, Dana attended, of course, and our conversations are something I’ll never, ever forget. “So many people were coming up to him because, well, he’s Franco Harris, a legend of the Pittsburgh Steelers,” he said. “And he was always so great with my wife’s daughter, Sissy, who has been a member of the Passion now for a couple of seasons, and I know all of the ladies with the team are devastated. He was so important to their success, and he’s always been a wonderful man to all of them.” Harris told Fahey, though, that he had his doubts when the concept was initially introduced. “During the dinner, he told the story about how he got involved with the Pittsburgh Passion,” Fahey recalled. “He admitted that he was a little skeptical about getting involved with a female football team at first, but he did find out where they were playing one of their games, and he went. But he stood behind a fence and he wore a ballcap so no one would recognize him, but he was impressed. “He thought the ladies were incredible and he recognized that the ladies were incredible athletes, and that’s when he decided to get involved,” he said. “That’s how he ended up becoming one of the three owners of the Pittsburgh Passion and he’s been involved for the last 20 years. He said it made him feel a commitment to women and sport, and he told us he loved that the females had the opportunity to play the game at a very high level and that he was a part of it.” Franco took the time to pose for photos this past weekend during a dinner in his honor at the Pittsburgh Marriott. From left, Candy Fahey, Franco Harris, Sissy George, and Gene Fahey. With Sadness, Steeler Nation Celebrates The Pittsburgh Steelers announced in early September the storied organization would retire No. 32 in honor of Harris, and the numeral would be only the third in the 89-year history of the NFL franchise. The Rooney’s retired Ernie Stautner No. 70 in 1964, and Joe Green’s No. 75 in 2014. "I am thrilled we are going to honor Franco with this recognition by retiring his No. 32 jersey," Steelers president Art Rooney II said in a statement at the time. "This is the 50th anniversary of one of the most memorable plays in NFL history; one that changed the course of our success with his 'Immaculate Reception' in 1972. My grandfather was once quoted as saying: 'Before Franco got here, we didn't win much; Since he got here, we don't lose.' I think that sums it up pretty good. "Franco's impact on the franchise would be hard to overstate,” Rooney continued. “That is why I think it is fitting and appropriate that we recognize Franco's remarkable career by retiring his Number 32 at our game on December 24." Harris, who told Fahey he remembered his trip to Wheeling to sign autographs at Boury's and Elby's during his playing days, couldn’t believe it. “He told me that he was really shocked when the Rooneys called him to tell him they were going to retire his number. He told me the thought never crossed his mind. Never,” Fahey said. “He said it was the greatest honor to be one of three players in their history to have their number retired by the team. “We talked about Terry Bradshaw and how he was all business on the field, and we talked about “Mean” Joe Green and that Coca-Cola commercial,” he said. “I told him how cool it is to see so many people getting their pictures taken with the statue of him and the catch at the Pittsburgh International Airport, and he said, ‘It still blows my mind that people remember that,’ but that’s just an example of how unassuming as you could possibly be while sitting there a legend as he is and forever will be.” For many reasons, the Rooneys bestowed the greatest running back in Steelers history with its top honor, but it will be the “Immaculate Reception’ that will receive most of the attention this Christmas Eve. “I did ask him about ‘The Catch’ and I asked him how much he thought about it,” Fahey reported. “He said, ‘What’s unbelievable is that I have no recollection whatsoever until I hit the end zone.’ He said when he’s tried to think about it, every time he comes up with nothing. He said, ‘I’m sure it was all instinctual, but I just remember hitting the end zone and wondering what in the world just happened.’ “The one thing I didn’t ask him is if he really caught the ball because that’s been a point of contention since, especially with Oakland fans,” he said. “We’re just very saddened by his passing, not just because we had the chance to spend time with him recently, but because of what he stood for and what he did for the Pittsburgh Passion.” Read the full article

20 Galaxies: Legend in the Sky Chapter 9
Tumblr media
My usual note about this chapter:
For those of you who are not familiar with American football, Quarterhill is a fictional town that would be located in the Chicago metropolitan area. The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears are rival football teams.
For those of you that ARE familiar and are doing a double-take at Favre being mentioned, reminder that this story takes place in 1998.
The Ferrari exploded out of the tunnel and whipped sideways, skidded across a road striped with wide arrows, inches away from hurtling through a guardrail and off a cliff. Beyond, the blinding sun blazed over the ocean. The water glinted as it dropped out of sight, hundreds of  yellow eyes melting in the incredible heat.
"Hurry up," Jayson said. "We gotta get home."
"Hold on," Randy barked. He threw the wheel to his left and pitched in his seat. He stretched to reach the gas pedal. "One more lap and Randy Fresnel is the winner of the Quarterhill 500!"
There was a squeal and a loud crunch from the game. Jayson groaned and smirked. "You'll have to sew Randy's hand back on before he can hold that trophy."
Randy yelled in frustration, startling a little girl playing Skee-ball behind him. "Vince!"
A broad hand appeared around the corner of the cabinet. "What?"
Randy stormed to the other side, where the opposing driver sat. Vince Tesla leaned casually against the backrest of his seat. His height and build made him look like a junior in high school, rather than the thirteen-year-old he was. His keen eyes gleamed mischievously in the dim arcade light. "I can't just let you take my high score."
"You only have so many high scores 'cause you cheat!" Randy jabbed a finger in Vince's face. "And you get to play free games!"
Vince brushed his hand away and jumped out of the chair. "That's loser talk. You gotta earn that place, short stack. Besides, my name looks nicer up there than yours." He tapped the screen, which was showing the high scores. "See it there? Doesn't it look great?"
"It'd be better without the Packer tribute," Randy growled.
Jayson laughed quietly. Vince was always looking for a reason to mention he was named after Vince Lombardi, for once, Randy had beat him to it. Vince, however, merely grinned.
Though this arcade was on Main Street, right in the middle of the tourist trap, and it was the high season, it was unusually crowded. Even more perplexing, Jayson noticed much of the crowd wore logos from Lakeside University, the community college in Vireo City. The majority of them were gathered around an old shooting game with a For Sale sign taped to the corner. The crowd was so thick Jayson couldn't tell who was playing. "What's going on?" he asked Vince.
"New game?" Randy said eagerly.
"No, we're trying to sell that one." Vince looked as perplexed as Jayson felt. He walked to the prize counter. "Hey Dad, what's going on?"
All the kids like Alan Tesla. The burly, deep-voiced owner of the Alley Arcade was rarely in a bad mood, and gave ticket and food discounts to the locals. A smile curved under his dusty mustache, he looked uncertain, but happy that a few more coins might go into the machines. He had a heavy Wisconsin accent that Vince only echoed in part. "Not sure. I asked around. They said that guy's the lead singer of some band."
"Who?" Vince pressed. "What's his name?"
"Shawn something. He's from Vireo City. I guess the band's getting real popular. I heard they were on Channel 6 the other day."
"Shawn Lanius?" Jayson and Vince exclaimed in unison.
Without waiting for a reply, the two rushed to the fringes of the crowd and tried to push their way through. "Wait, who?" Randy called. Despite not recognizing the name, he pushed as hard as either of them.
"Haven't you ever heard of the Shaddow Puppets?" Vince said.
Randy's expression soured. "Isn't that one of those sissy boy bands?"
"Not even close," Jayson said.
"They played at the big festival last year, remember?" Vince added. "Oh wait, sorry, your parents probably didn't let you stay up late enough to see them."
Randy shook a fist at him. Vince yawned. "Didn't you get beat up by Misty Elesti at recess?"
There was little room around Shawn himself, but Jayson picked him out of the crowd easily. He was on par in age with the crowd, with slick black hair and tan skin. He was taller than Jayson thought, and built in a way that was more imposing than his razor-thin figure should have allowed. He wore neat black jeans and a black collared shirt with a silver image of barbed wire across the chest. Jayson didn't know the game he was playing well enough to tell how he was doing, but Vince was nodding his head approvingly. Eventually the screen went red and the crowd groaned. "Continue?" popped up above a counter.
"You're pretty good at that game," Vince called. "It's for sale, you wanna buy it?"
Shawn barely glanced at him, but gave a lopsided grin as he put the light gun back in its holster. "You must be the owner's son."
If Vince was shocked about being recognized, he didn't show it. He merely gave a confident nod. Shawn answered the question before Jayson could ask. "They warned me about you. I see your name all over these machines. You taking over the arcade when your dad retires?"
Shawn had a slight accent Jayson couldn't recognize. He'd never noticed it when he'd heard Shaddow Puppets' music, and he'd heard it often. Ru had bought their CD at the festival, and their mother had gotten it signed once she learned Shawn and Jeremy Shaddow, the band's founder and lead guitar, were being interviewed at her station. It was one of the few bands he and Ru could agree on. Ru liked hard rock, which made up a good portion of Shaddow Puppets' songs, while Jayson normally liked hip-hop and rap.
"If I don't get into the NFL, I'll think about it," Vince said.
"Oh, so you're a football player, too?"
Jayson didn't like Shawn's tone. He spoke as if Vince was five years old. Randy butted in before Vince could reply, though. "Yeah, but get this. He doesn't even want to play for the right team. He's from Green Bay."
Some of the others in the crowd booed playfully. Jayson was not a football fan, but he recognized the logos. He picked out a few Chicago Bears decals amongst them. One of the girls near the back cheered. As usual, Vince was rather alone in this debate, and as usual, he showed no signs of intimidation. "Uh yeah, who was in the Super Bowl last year?" He cupped a hand to his ear. "How'd the Pack do this week? Oh yeah, Favre got those five measly touchdown passes. Just a team record. Guess that can't compare to the Bears getting stomped by Minnesota."
A pair of quarters glinted between Shawn's fingers. He gestured towards NFL Blitz, over by the wall. "C'mon, kid, let's see how good Green Bay is."
"All right!" Vince's eyes lit up. "It's about time I got a real challenge around here."
"Whatdya mean, a real challenge?" Randy shouted as Jayson dragged him outside.
The door squeaked shut. Randy pressed his face on the glass to get one more glare in at Vince. "Your mom's going to throw a fit if she finds out you were here," Jayson warned. "You're grounded, remember?"
"Who's gonna tell her, you?" Randy said.
"Mr. Tesla might -"
Jayson cut off as he nearly ran into someone standing at the mouth of the alley, fearful that it might be Mrs. Fresnel looking for her son. Mrs. Fresnel was wide, but not nearly as tall as the stranger in front of him, and Jayson was sure she didn't own a bright red hooded raincoat. The sun was perched behind the stranger's head, casting deep shadows into the void where their face would be.
The stranger suddenly spoke, what Jayson thought was one word. They pronounced it in a fluid, piercing way, as if it was an old outcast of the English language. Skaeya
"Did you say 'stay here'?" Randy asked, backing away. "I don't think so, dude."
The stranger's movements were completely soundless. Their coat didn't rustle, the one step they took towards the boys never shuffled or tapped against the concrete. The hair on the back of Jayson's neck bristled. This was what his mother always warned him about, those vague, dangerous strangers that he was supposed to take care around and never talk to. He wanted to go right back into the arcade, but he was frozen, his feet melded to the sidewalk. He sought the stranger's eyes in the darkness.
He found them and lost all thought. There was no fear left, just an inexplicable sense of awe.
The stranger turned and left.
Jayson's feet came unglued from the concrete. He immediately backed away from Main Street. "Who?" Randy started, stunned. "Who was that? My dad's right, this town is full of weirdos."
A glint caught Jayson's eye. He saw loops of thin silver chains near the foot of the garbage can by the arcade door. He went back and scooped the chains up, drawing out two pendants attached. The pendants glimmered so brightly in the evening haze they looked to have a light of their own. A ruby wolf and an emerald dragonfly.
"What's that?" Randy asked.
"Jewelry. They look like the stuff that comes out of Carmody's store." Jayson held the wolf up by the chain. There was something pleasant about the way the light struck it. "That guy might have been looking for them. We should go get him."
"Forget it!" Randy shuddered. "First of all, I say finders keepers. Second, I'm pretty sure that guy was serial killer or something."
"What, are you scared?" Jayson asked with a smirk.
Randy turned red. "No!" he barked, marching to the mouth of the alley. There was considerable relief in his voice when he said, "He's gone, anyway."
"It is kind of weird he had his hood up like that," Jayson said. "Let's ask Mr. Tesla if he knows who it is."
Mr. Tesla did not know. He seemed concerned, and offered to call their parents for a ride home, which Randy refused immediately and loudly. Mr. Tesla took the pendants and said he'd ask Carmody if they were his. The two boys left the alley in a hurry, more alert than they had ever been. Even so, neither one caught sight of Shawn as they left. His depthless eyes, sharp and icy, remained on the boys until they were out of sight.

Dragged Kicking and Screaming  ( 9/ 22)
Or How Burt Hummel Mashed the Hummels and Hudsons Into One Functioning Family.
Characters(s): Kurt, Burt, Carole, Finn, with short appearances by the New Directions guys and various ops who mostly take up space. Rating: PG13 Summary: Somehow the Hummel household and the Hudson household had to come together…
Chapter One  Chapter Two
Chapter three  Chapter Four Chapter Five Chapter 6
Chapter seven Chapter 8
9.
Burt nodded at Kurt as he put the last of the trash into a big bag and got ready to take it outside.
“You guys can finish the rest tomorrow.  I’ll pay weekend chore pay for it if you don’t get help.” Burt told Kurt. “Go get your stuff and get it downstairs.  I know you’ll want to unpack and get washing going.”
Kurt nodded and headed out to bring his stuff back into the house…which wasn’t going to be as easy as before since the disaster with it that morning.  He took the large trash bag out to the bin as he went.
Finn tossed a huge tantrum when he realized Kurt hadn’t been lying when he said he was home for good. He started it the moment Kurt brought in the first suitcase and headed down the stairs. Finn was shouting and flailing his arms about and threatening all sorts of things. Kurt responded with his usual practice of removing all of Finn’s stuff from the bedroom and setting it on the couch in the basement, before going out to his SUV and moving the rest of his stuff from Dalton in very loudly.  There was much stomping, on Kurt’s part, and yelling at each other (granted, mostly Finn yelling at Kurt with Finn refusing to move from the living room couch so he wouldn’t have to give up TV control to Burt and Kurt sassing back loudly so Finn couldn’t miss it as he stomped by).
“And this suitcase is the last of my clothing from Dalton!” Kurt exclaimed as he dragged a large suitcase in.  “I’ll be putting it all back into my closet, which you had better not have gotten into. I will know.  And tomorrow we will fix this whole nothing decorated in the house situation. And I will find out where my snowmen have gone!”
“No.  Mom said I get to decide what we are doing inside and I haven’t decided yet.  I am trying to decide between NHL and NFL and Guns.”
“Those are not Christmas themes.” Kurt shouted, stopping in the middle of the hall.
“Sure they are...and besides Mom already decided for most of the house.  She said she’d make your dad go buy what was needed for it tomorrow and Monday. But it is way girly and I need a MAN spot.  She said I could have it in the bedroom.”
“We aren’t allowed trees in the bedrooms.” Kurt said.
“Burt will let me. YOU might not have been allowed it, but Burt likes me and he’ll let me.”
“My dad has REASONS for not allowing trees in bedrooms.  He will not.” Kurt snapped. “And he LOVES me.”  Kurt continued onto the basement.
The basement door had slammed shut before Finn has shouted “You wish!”
Burt hoped Kurt had not heard it.
All Burt could see was another month or longer of this day or Thanksgiving week repeating itself over and over and over again.  He was NOT going to put up with it any longer. He decided first to talk to Kurt, so far that had worked best…if he could get Kurt to ease off then the other two would surely see reason.
“Kurt,” Burt snapped as Kurt stomped towards the basement with the last of his stuff from Dalton, after going out and coming back in again, muttering under his breath as he did. “Could we work a little harder here to co-exist please?”
Kurt turned and looked at Burt. “In what way have I not tried to co-exist, Father?”
Kurt’s use of father in such a cold tone shocked Burt and he seriously couldn’t think of an answer.
Kurt had done all that was asked of him, over and over and over, since the wedding.  Heck, since long before the wedding Kurt had done what Burt asked…he was often the only one trying to do so.
“I have done nothing but try my best to ‘co-exist’ since they moved in. I have given up everything that makes the season right for me…and when I manage to eek anything out, well...my snowmen seem to be missing, now don’t they?” Kurt shrugged. “So I ask, why are you asking ME?”
He turned and swept off down the stairs.  Burt watched his kid’s chin tilted in defiance…in his ‘I will not break’ pose.
“Are you seriously going to allow him to speak to you like that?” Finn asked. “I think you should ground him.  I don’t think you should allow him to do anything fun until Christmas Break really starts and I think you should make him pay Mom and I for his use of the bedroom and the car…so I can get really good gifts from Mom this year.”
“What?” Burt asked, turning to look at Finn.  He could not believe what he’d just heard. “He lives here, Finn.  If Kurt pays to use the bedroom, so do you.”
“That’s not fair.”
“Do you really want to go there?  I’m still entirely unhappy with this day and your behavior.”
“You can’t be upset still. You’re a guy like me and so you understand how guys act.  Kurt just threw a hissy fit because he’s more like a girl…a girly sissy girl, not a strong girl like mom… and just doesn’t understand how real men act.  Or something like that…he’s not really like a guy at any rate.  Sure, he got the lights up and stuff, but not the way a real man would.  When you think about it and mom explains it to you without his girly whiny interference you’ll remember how things really are and how they should be and won’t think I did anything wrong.  In fact you’ll be proud of me for making it so I got my way and for not allowing people to tell me to do things in ways I didn’t want to. You’ll be so proud of me that you will buy me stuff.  No one really got hurt, so nothing bad happened. Not really. Mom said so. She said tomorrow she’d make you go with her and buy me a truck and she’d show you want I wanted for Christmas. And we’ll look at what I want for the Christmas decorations then…she thinks we can find hunting stuff, but I didn’t want hunting...just guns, so I’ll probably choose one of the sports themes. She said she’d even get all the money in those stupid jars at the shop for my use…either for gifts for me or for me to spend.”
“She did, did she? Has your mother been down?” Burt asked.
“No, I went and talked to her before the pizza got here when you didn’t respond right when I said I wasn’t talking to you.  You were supposed to apologize for letting Kurt be mean and beg for me to talk to you so you could find out about the rest of the evening, usually with a promise of a gift and some money.  Instead you asked someone else.  Why did you do that?”
“You said you weren’t talking to me?” Burt replied.
Finn rolled his eyes. “You don’t do that right. You are not supposed to just let it go.  You need to apologize for letting Kurt be mean to me and I would like new basketball shoes and a new Xbox game.”
Burt looked at the basement door where Kurt had retreated and then towards the stairs to where Carole was holed up and then to Finn who was sitting with his feet on the coffee table looking like he was right and being very smug about it.
“No.” Burt said. “I would like my TV.  Go downstairs and watch your own, before I send you to bed after making sure you don’t get any allowance this next week and taking away your phone.”
“You can’t do that!” The shocked look on Finn’s face was satisfying.
“Do you want to try me?”
Finn stood up and stomped down the stairs to the basement.  Burt heard Finn hit the bedroom door.
Burt Hummel was done. He was done being played.  He was done letting others boss him around…and he was pretty much done with watching Kurt being bossed around as well. He was taking back control.  He leaned back into his chair and noticed the spilled soda next to where Finn had been sitting since all the guys had left.  Which he knew hadn’t been there earlier because he’d helped Artie from that spot and Artie was one of the last to leave.
Burt went down to the basement and informed Kurt and Finn that the next day was family day.  All members would be present and anyone who didn’t show up didn’t get Christmas at all. No gifts, no Santa, nothing.  They would discuss all household rules and regulations.  They would discuss all allowances and curfews. They would discuss all gatherings that took place in the house or on the property. They would discuss all traditions for all holidays.  They would discuss Friday Night Dinners. They would discuss money usage. They would discuss chores and school work and grades and everything.  They would discuss everyone’s behavior and punishments. They would discuss it all.  And they were starting the discussions bright and early. Finn threw the remote at Kurt, who caught it and handed it to Burt.  Kurt smiled and offered to make breakfast, without it even counting against or for anything.  Burt would have reminded Kurt to ditch the sass, except since Kurt caught the remote it wasn’t broken and nothing else was broken from the remote hitting it. And Finn now had to go to bed. Burt shut off the TV in the basement TV room and took the remote with him as he went back upstairs, after telling both boys to go to bed.
Burt sat in the living room watching the TV, finally turned to something he liked. He pulled out the last Mountain Dew. (They had bought four cases of it, and four of diet Coke, and four of Dr. Pepper and six of Sprite…and the soda in his hand was the last one…and he didn’t see enough cans in the house to account for it all. He tried to decide how much to pay Kurt to go make sure all those outside were picked up...even those buried in the snow and tossed under the bushes.) By the end of Lunch the next day, Burt decided, they would have a working family or he’d be getting divorced. He found that he wasn’t sure at that moment which he hoped for most.
