“did you undermine me today because you’re scared im going to make detective?” … “no, and im upset that you would even think that.” … “so now you’re accusing me of being unaware of my actions? that’s not better.” … “I’ve never not admitted it. I admitted it the first day we met. The only thing I did today was have your back.”

This whole conversation wrecked me. Lucy is spiraling and unfortunately that anxiety always comes out in a way you don’t want it too. It becomes ugly and infests and now she’s left struggling to see how they even got this point. Something she knows isn’t true but her insecurities are bubbling out of control. Tim has never shied away from his past. He’s been upfront from the beginning even when he did not want to show it. There has only been one time he’s been negative about the uc and that was her very first uc op. Afterwards, he’s made it his mission to be as supportive as he could be. Allowing her to grow into the role by being her number one, her six, her lifeline. While tim has walked away before and is capable of doing it now, he does not want to. He loves lucy unconditionally. he desperately wants it to work. he just needs lucy not to push him away in the process. these hard conversations are needed and they’ll be stronger for it in the end.
