I have a bit of a horror film niche that I adore and that is asian found footage/documentary style movies. Can’t get enough of them and there are so few out there that I’ve been able to find.

The kanji characters for "disaster, tool and spirit."
The 3 characters make up the word Kagutaba.
A tool that's capable of causing disasters.

i finished the movie Noroi: The Curse a while ago and i thought it was pretty good, though for most of the film i wasn’t really that scared, at worst i felt pretty unsettled. the ending was when i truly became afraid, and that’s because of the yelling and screaming that occurred.
the yelling from Kobayashi as he tried to stop Hiro, the terrified screams from Keiko, especially considering she’s prolly the least knowledgeable in what’s been going on in the movie, and then her screams as she comes out of her trance to find herself burning to death with Kobayashi screaming in horror as he watches his wife burn to death, bringing the house along with them… fuck

Movie recommendation: Noroi: The Curse (2005)
One of the most effectively unsettling movies I’ve seen in quite awhile.
A prominent paranormal journalist named Kobayashi goes missing shortly after completing a documentary. What begins as an investigation into strange noises soon evolves into the chilling mystery of a demonic entity named Kagutaba.
