Heather Hudson is not a character that anyone has ever thought about in years but one aspect of her I find really interesting is that when Northstar has AIDS and when Diamond Lil had breast cancer she was the first to notice when they were trying to hide it. In both cases they tried to play it down and the rest of the team didn’t really notice except for Heather who caught on pretty quickly. Like Idk showing team leaders being aware of when their teammates are playing off sickness like that is very cool to see and I’m glad it was a consistent trait for her

Does Marvel have a lot of dedicated speedsters other than Quicksilver? Most of the really fast guys like the Silver Surfer and Gladiator just get speed as an add-on. And Northstar was antisocial because he's from Quebec and hates his cop team leader, while being a speedster seems like more of a coincidence

There are a fair few Marvel speedsters who are not add-ons:
Tommy Shepherd/Speed is a bit of an arrogant brat but he’s generally a sweet kid.
Makkari can be a jerk depending on how they’re written.
Super Sabre is a right-wing serial killer cop.
Whizzer is a problematic complete mess.
Speed Demon is an outright supervillain.
Blur is a brainwashed government stooge.

X-FACTOR PITCH

X-Factor disbanded shortly after The Trial of Magneto, with Fang and Aurora joining the Marauders, Askani getting together with Captain Britain, and Northstar and his husband wanting to spend more time together. 
Following the death of her father, however, Polaris is finally ready to be the leader he always wanted her to be. Lorna restarts X-Factor with a newfound dedication to making sure no other Mutant is ever truly lost again…and making sure those who try to get rid of them pay the price. 
Polaris brings Prodigy and Eye-Boy back onto the team, but otherwise is in need of new recruits. 
Wind Dancer has lost yet another job, and is eager to volunteer for this new team, figuring her massive social media following could help with finding leads, with David happy to have his old friend on the team. 
The next recruit is Bling!, who sees the team as a stepping stone to getting on the X-Men in the next vote, but does still genuinely care about the cause. The team’s lacking a tank, so they bring her in. 
The final addition to the team is who the first arc would be centered around: Jessie Drake. 
While working with Black Cat, Jessie is killed by Steel Raven. Felicia gets Peter to call up Iceman and tell him to have her resurrection prioritized, and also to let her be there when she’s brought back so she’s less scared. 
Polaris leads her new team to go and punish the ones who killed Jessie, insisting that they won’t be killing them, but making them wish they had. Jessie and Black Cat, however, insist on coming along, since this was their fight. 
As the four younger members of the team get to work and show some of the new character dynamics and circuits, Polaris asks Jessie why she never came to live on Krakoa where it’s safe, with Jessie responding that the X-Men and the rest of Mutantkind never cared about her before, and she doesn’t see why they’d suddenly start now. Polaris tries selling her the “Krakoa is for all Mutants” bit, but Jessie doesn’t buy it. 
“Any trans women living in your giant castles?” 
As the mission continues, Polaris starts shit with Black Cat. At first, Felicia just thinks they’re doing catty banter, but it quickly becomes clear that Lorna is being actively hateful, more distrustful of humans than ever since Judgement Day, for the role they played in getting her dad killed. She also ends up snapping at Jessie as if she’s a traitor. 
Upon reaching Steel Raven, Prodigy, Bling!, Wind Dancer, and Eye-Boy are all taken out, before she tries to get away. Polaris, Black Cat, and Jessie pursue her, with a fight breaking out between the two older women. Jessie’s able to stop the fight, knowing exactly what’s driving Lorna right now thanks to her being an empath. She tells her this isn’t what Magneto would want. That he told her how all oppressed groups needed to stand together, or they’d all fall. Lorna breaks down in tears and is comforted by Jessie, but Steel Raven takes advantage of the situation and catches the three by surprise, killing Polaris, and planning on killing Black Cat, and capturing Jessie alive so she can’t get away again. 
Jessie and Black Cat fight Steel Raven, with Jessie, still in touch with her emotions, shifting into Polaris to take them down. Jessie is prepared to kill her, but Black Cat stops her, though we don’t see why. 
Back on Krakoa, all of X-Factor is resurrected, with Jessie present but not Felicia. While the younger Mutants head off, more than a little embarrassed by all of them being taken down by an un-powered human, Jessie wants to talk with Lorna. 
Jessie explains how she can sense other people’s feelings, and then change into them. And in doing both of these things, she learned the truth about Lorna. 
“I asked if any trans women lived in your giant castles. You could have just said “Yes”. 
Polaris smirks. She doesn’t advertise that she’s trans, but she doesn’t mind one of her sisters knowing. Lorna apologizes for how she was treating her and her friend earlier, and says that while the two of them may prioritize different parts of their identities, that doesn’t mean they’re not the same, and she should support her choices. Jessie accepts her apology. 
Lorna says goodbye, but Jessie smirks back at her, saying she’s not going anywhere. If another trans girl is telling her that this is really a place where they can be safe and thrive, then she has to stay. She’s still leaving some of her stuff as Felicia’s, and is planning on going back and forth, but she wants in on X-Factor. She wants to earn a castle for herself. 
Polaris is happy to have her on the team, but does finally ask what they ended up doing with Steel Raven. On the last page, we see Felicia slashing her throat out. 
“Don’t worry. *I* didn’t break any of this places' laws.” 
OTHER PLOTS AND DYNAMICS: 
Lorna is targeted by Mutants who'd been victims of her father. Ultimately, she promises to make amends for his mistakes, ALL of his mistakes and takes on the mantle of Magneto. 
Jessie deciding to complete her transition via Crucible. 
Jubilee recruiting Eye-Boy and Bling! to help Nature Girl through her trauma, following her mental manipulation by Curse. 
Prodigy and Bling! bonding over being black, queer, Mutants. 
Prodigy and Speed being invited to, and visiting, the Kree-Skrull empire. Hijinks ensue. 
Eye-Boy further discovering just how powerful he really is. 
Wind Dancer and Bling! not getting along at all, but Sofia still offering to help with her relationship issues with Mercury, bringing her bf Hellion in too. 
Wind Dancer and Prodigy as snarky besties. 
Wind Dancer deciding Eye-Boy has "it" and trying to make him a celebrity against his will. 
Lorna acting as a mentor to Jessie. 
Jessie and Escapade team-up. 
Jealous of the other three young Mutants having partners, Jessie and Eye-Boy team up to find girlfriends. Eye-Boy gets together with Nature Girl, while Jessie ends up with Aero.

How I get along with ENFJs as an INTJ
The people’s champion. It’s always a blast when I’m around you. You take it upon yourselves to ensure I’m enjoying my time. I’m more than happy of letting you take the reins of any situation when it comes to group activities — whether it’s a night out drinking bender or an all-night team project. I also love how basic you are. Like you guys own that #LiveLaughLove hashtag. Your Instagram is full of cheesy quotes and pictures with your dear BFFs. Your walls are plastered with Hallmarks cards and motivational posters.
But we both know there’s a lot more to you. Material possessions and Internet persona don’t wholly define you. They don’t do a good job showing how insightful, intelligent, and driven you are. With the ENFJs I know, we click fast and become close friends who can talk for hours about anything. We enjoy having intellectual conversations about this emotional mysterious rollercoaster that is life. You’re always the one who starts them. That’s where the real you thrives, the human behind the profile pic.

Let’s stop with the smiles, candies, and balloons for a moment. With your Extraverted Feeling-Extraverted Sensing, you engage with the social enterprise around you. You are in other words a manager of human egos, not a people pleaser. I’ve heard you say ‘no’ way more often than ‘yes.’ Sometimes you may need to discipline and tell an asshole to fuck off. In fact, I think you wear that disapproving angry face better than that courtesy smiling one. You know what I mean — the one that makes people regret for disappointing you.
Being an emotions manager means you apply social lubrication and persuade egos to work together. You have the creativity and confidence to improve culture. Despite the stereotypes of being fake (which is bullshit by the way), the best of you admit you have struggles. There are days when you’re defeated, when you relapse, when you just can’t. You’re human, that in itself is hard. You understand you can’t do it all alone. And you know how to find help by revealing your true selves, scarred and weathered, but stubbornly pushing because life’s worth believing in something. Sometimes a call to the ether via social media is all you need to channel in some positivity.

You don’t have to be this charismatic leader. Being an Fe dominant doesn’t make you a social butterfly. The more reserved ENFJs don’t have any interest in being the center of attention. Many of you claim to be introverts. Doing the right thing doesn’t mean you have to be sociable or likeable. So if these are not ENFJ criteria, then what is? Let’s ask ourselves: Why are ENFJs the way they are? Why is there this need to set social harmony? What are they striving for? To answer these, allow me to present a butchered summary of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave.
The story starts with chained prisoners forced to stare at a wall inside the cave since birth. Their entire perceptions of reality are formed by the shadows on the wall. One day, a prisoner breaks free, turns around, and realizes the shadows were mere projections of their true forms casted by a fire. The freed prisoner manages to get outside of the cave, and is mesmerized discovering the world for what it really is. He then goes back into the cave to spread the truth about reality to the other prisoners. The story ends with the freed prisoner getting ridiculed. He was deemed delusional and dangerous.

Struggling out of the cave to be then blinded by the sunlight, the freed prisoner returned to his friends because what he learned outside was worth sharing. He experienced something that his friends couldn’t imagine. It was something truer than anything he knew. He couldn’t go back looking at life the old way. It was after his eyesights adjusted he realized how deprived the other prisoners were. “Life can be so much more meaningful, if only they could break their chains,” he must’ve thought.

Another feature of TiNi is the innate imperative to understand the world and others. Blanketed by the outward charm and warmth, ENFJs are intelligent supercomputers building algorithms personalized for the people around them. You make me feel so seen! You’re studying me. You psychically predict my emotions and lay out my current state of mind. You pick up my body language and my tone of voice, dig my feelings out, and put them up for us to see.
Personally, the way you do that never felt intrusive. I’ve always felt like I was a plain covered book on a shelf for anyone interested in reading me. Having Introverted Intuition-Introverted Feeling, I always look over at how I’m feeling on a philosophical, idealistic, and existential level. This is why we get along. I’m not like the other skeptical prisoners. If you say there’s a bigger truth out there worth seeing, I’m curious. Together, we’ll claw ourselves out from the cave, and enjoy this promised beautiful world.

This promised world… Honestly, I didn’t have an idea of what that actually was. Like what was it supposed to be exactly? All I knew was I had to get there. And that I’d be happy there. I imagined being free, living by my values without compromise, and doing whatever I please. I got rid of whatever didn’t give me joy, like changing jobs and cutting off toxic people. And in turn I spent more time with my loved ones, my passions, and doing things I believed in. Life was great. Just another day in paradise.

To do such a vulnerable thing was too humiliating. I was too good for that. My emotional intelligence was too “high” for that. How ironic that I couldn’t bring myself to do a basic smile. Nobody was judging besides my own reflection. I wimped away from the self-inflicted awkwardness and indignation. I hated that about me. All of this time searching for a way out to freedom, I’ve been imprisoned deep in the cave by my own ego. I was stuck, fixated on an idea of a certain “me” that was nothing but a mere shadow on a wall.
True to the allegory, someone had to help me break my chains. It was a struggle at first to externalize my emotions. I didn’t know how to properly express them. I didn’t know if they were the right things to experience. I had zero idea how I came off. I needed to take baby steps. That’s when I understood all of those corny basic bitch things, those lame #LiveLaughLove’s, those selfies and emojis were exactly the baby steps I needed to take. You were my example.

You took notice of my progress. And you were always there supporting me, partaking on the shenanigans, and reflecting together on the more serious things. One time our convo was getting deep, and in that moment I saw how you briskly paused yourself to hear what I had to say. That’s when it all started to click. Whatever I was mulling over was always worth sharing. It didn’t matter how incomplete my thoughts were, they could be insightful for anyone hearing them.

Finally, I got out of my cave and saw reality for what it truly is. Authenticity doesn’t mean to do what feels good. It means to have the strength to keep my heart open whenever I feel it close. I learned that keeping things to myself didn’t make me free. I’d never know what I actually am by avoiding social interactions. Connecting with others is what allowed me to explore that. I discovered that I’m a pretty funny guy and a kind calming soul. The truth is life is unsolvable. But just like how we strive for excellence and not perfection, let’s do our best to fulfill it. At best we get wisdom, not answers.
When I share my feelings and have heart-to-hearts with people, I found my freedom. The world began to feel more meaningful, more blissful, more intimate. I started to get genuinely excited for sunrises. I feel connected with people of different cultures, and even of other historical eras. The more I learn about nature and the stars above, the more I’m thankful for the life I’m given. Everyday became a chance to let my emotions play and to present the best me — the real me.
Now I look to help others in becoming their best selves too. I’d love for them to experience how I feel about life. We’re not that different after all. I’ve watched you show how you care for people. Inspired by your example, I learned how to better visibly show love to those close to me, and how to better show my true self to the world. You’ve taught me how to love myself and make myself be seen. I hope after reading this blog that, at least to some degree, I gave you that same feeling of being loved and seen.

I mentioned this before like I've made almost this exact post but it's so still funny to me when people point out Northstar's misogyny in panels I post of him because I get that Normal comic fans probably only know his more recent appearances where he's majorly Toned Down but from 1983-the early 2000s he was a hardcore misogynist. Like in 1985 his team leader Heather gets pissed at Logan for sending Rogue to work with him because "Northstar? Teamed with a woman? Logan, they'll kill each other!". He constantly slut shamed his sister (despite sleeping around himself) and also views her as weaker (which she herself says is his misogyny). Like they've completely wiped the character trait NOW and it's been gone for a while now but seeing people react to it is so funny cause I legit DO NOT notice it anymore I'm so desensitized to every time he says something like that

Richard Petty and Billy Lane Hot Rod Kart Build Off
Northern Tool + Equipment will celebrate the upcoming release of its all new NorthStar line of engines by announcing an exciting build-off in front of thousands of people at the Minnesota Street Rod Association Back to the 50's event on June 23rd. Two Minnesota high schools will spend the next year constructing rat rod go-karts using 740cc NorthStar EFI engines under the watchful eye of mentors Richard Petty, a NASCAR legend, and celebrity motorcycle builder Billy Lane. The build-off is part of Northern Tool + Equipment's Tools for the Trades™ program.
"Tools for the Trades™ is a great program, and it's important for kids to know they have career options. This country will always need tradespeople to make and manufacture things," said Petty. "The team at Petty's Garage and I are excited to meet the students and help them with this build-off."
The schools will each receive a new, cutting-edge NorthStar EFI engine. Later this year, multiple sizes of the engine, from 180cc to 825cc, including two new engines at 300cc and 420cc, will be used in NorthStar products and available for purchase at Northern Tool. Each school's career and technical education program will also receive a donation of professional-grade tools and equipment, including air compressors and air-powered tools donated by Ingersoll Rand.
"Ingersoll Rand is excited to support these students with the opportunity to learn valuable skills by providing access to the same quality equipment used by professionals across the skilled trades," added Kate Hartman, marketing leader at Ingersoll Rand.
Northern Tool created Tools for the Trades™ to help address the skilled trades labor gap by providing schools, students and instructors with the proper equipment to grow trades learning options and the experiences to fuel interest in the trades for the next generation. The schools selected for this build-off, Minneapolis North and Lakeville North, will be able to provide students with invaluable hands-on experience through the project. The finished carts will also be custom pinstriped by renowned pinstriper Cliff Anderson, Jr, and the eight-month process will be featured on social media with progress narration by celebrity YouTuber Dylan McCool.
"We're passionate about supporting and fueling the curiosity of the next generation of tradespeople," said Northern Tool + Equipment Co-owner Wade Kotula. "This is an exciting project because it will teach real-world skills while also exposing students to the wealth of knowledge our mentors possess, and they get to start and end it all at an amazing event in MSRA's Back to the 50's Weekend."
Finished carts will then be unveiled at the 50th Anniversary of Back to the 50's in 2024 and will be raced at Lane's Sons of Speed® classic motorcycle racing series.
"It's a thrill and an honor to be involved in teaching students these skills," said Lane. "There are a lot of good ways to make a living, and this effort by Northern Tool + Equipment to expose students to the trades at a young age is critical."
