one of my fav things about until my feet bleed and my heart aches is how it worked in and reimagined iconic moments from the show itself, like not that they’re the first person ever to do that ofc not, but i think it works really really well for this fic. i finished it days ago and i’m still thinking about it tbh, all those little moments. the tie pulling, for instance.

Remembering how the comics even ruined the Earth King's character... the feats in that were staggering

Hey Baku!! I'm considering beefing up my redbubble or selling art elsewhere and wanted to ask, how is it working for you? Do you like it, and do you have experience with other art selling sites?
ah I might not be the best person to ask about that... I don't like redbubble and I don't enjoy the thing they just did with their margin and payout, but also that's just kinda how platforms are? if it's not this then it's something else. any of the print stuff I offer is fully on request now anyway (except for when I really like a piece and think it'd make a great print lol) - I don't really treat redbubble stuff like how merch artists do it, there's very little calculation involved in upkeeping the store, and it's absolutely not where any significant amount of my income comes from. at most I get enough to reach the payout margin every two months, otherwise it's definitely not uncommon for it to lie around at no movement for months on end. I'm not even involved enough to figure out how to tag my stuff on there without getting it lasered off the face of the earth by IP holders lmao. quality-wise their stuff's about fine, nothing exceptional to 'em, it's a good spot if you want to offer a variety of products at about the same level of effort and aren't too fussed about the margin. and that's as far as my use of the site extends

Chains of Heart ep 3
This re-watch really was an excellent idea. I'm understanding who people are and what they're up to much more this second time round. And the colours are so much more obvious! I'm feeling much more confident after ep 3 that Din = green, Lue = red, and Ken = blue (my confidence is helped by @respectthepetty's agreement 💪🏼 Thank you!).
I also think, when used on others or in the lighting, green = a connection to Din/Lue often with high drama, red = high emotions/passion/danger/revenge, and blue...well blue lighting hasn't been used much...but purple has...and more on that below.
As with the previous ep, we start ep 3 off where we left off in ep 2 - with high stakes drama at the temple and Khun Tee (Lue) rushing away from the fight in the green lit temple (with blue and red banners).
Tumblr media
In the hotel room - the room that Din and Ken stayed in together - there is so. much. green.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As well as a small blue lamp - Ken's trapped in the memory of him and Din. And even the outside of the room has a blueish tinge to the green. It's their place.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ken literally bathes in Din's green with either their passion or Lue's presence or Ken's desire for revenge (the red) looming over him (whichever way you want to interpret that - again I'd love to know what these say) and is surrounded by these colours after the bath.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As Ken reminisces/dreams about his time there with Din, they arrive in the room full of their passion but quickly get consumed by the green.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The morning after dreaming about their steamy night in green, Ken dons another green suit for the trip to the police station to identify the men involved in Din's death (but which gets interrupted by the car crash and Lue's subsequent rescue). Notice the red buttons on Ken's jacket! Payu is showing his support of Ken in the blue (also with small red details) and Hin has all three colours in his shirt.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
More reminiscing of sexy times and I think this was their first time and maybe Din's confession (??), so it's not surprising that Din's in Ken's blue in a room with a green hue and red curtains. The purple light being a mix of the blue and red.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later, when they both sign their names on the picture on the wall - with a green pencil! - these colours are still prominent around them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I LOVED Sai coming into the room in the present day in a purple top - yet another reminder of Din and their time together in that room.
Tumblr media
I'm not quite sure what to make of the below scene and the reds and blues. If we're thinking of red as revenge then I can interpret both Ingpha and Din's mum's red as them both wanting to get what they desire - the former needs his crimes to stay hidden and will do all he can to enable that, and the latter wants someone to pay for what they did to her son. With the blue, I mentioned in my ep 1 post that blue on characters might signify that they're hiding or masking something...maybe that's the case here with Ingpha and Ae (it looks like the design on her shirt is a dark blue). Both have much to hide. With Din's mum, her blue is in support of Ken though. One hopes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then we come to the end of the ep and Ken is completely encased Din's world...but lo, in comes Din Lue!
Tumblr media
Both are wearing a bit of Ken's blue but - and I don't know how I missed this the first time round (yes I do, I was SO confused by the plot) - they're complete opposites...or perfectly complementing each other. Ken has a blue shirt under a black suit and Lue has a blue jacket over a black shirt and trousers. They even have opposite colour shoes - black and white.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I swear Ken's shoes look like they have a burgundy stripe on the back.
Tumblr media
This show really is something!

Pulled my grandma's sewing table out so my partner can help me move it upstairs either this weekend or the next. Also found a large tub of crafting supplies, more crochet patterns, and more craft books, because of course I did. I am on break, enjoying a cup of tea, before I have to lug the box upstairs and start unpacking it. I also found Annie's baby collar, so I'm going to add it to the cat memorial jar I'm setting up.

During the 2008 recession, my aunt lost her job. Her, her partner, and my three cousins moved across the country to stay with us while they got back on their feet. My house turned from a family of four to a family of nine overnight, complete with three dogs and five cats between us.
It took a few years for them to get a place of their own, but after a few rentals and apartments, they now own a split level ranch in a town nearby. I’ve lost track of how many coworkers and friends have stayed with them when they were in a tight spot. A mother and son getting out of an abusive relationship, a divorcee trying to stay local for his kids while they work out a custody agreement, you name it. My aunt and uncle knew first hand what that kindness meant, and always find space for someone who needed it, the way my parents had for them.
That same aunt and uncle visited me in [redacted] city last year. They are prolific drinkers, so we spent most of the day bar hopping. As we wandered the city, any time we passed a homeless person, my uncle would pull out a fresh cigarette and ask them if they had a light. Regardless of if they had a lighter on hand or not, he offered them a few bucks in exchange, which he explained to me after was because he felt it would be easier for them to accept in exchange for a service, no matter how small.
I work for a company that produces a lot of fabric waste. Every few weeks, I bring two big black trash bags full of discarded material over to a woman who works down the hall. She distributes them to local churches, quilting clubs, and teachers who can use them for crafts. She’s currently in the process of working with our building to set up a recycling program for the smaller pieces of fabric that are harder to find use for.
One of my best friends gives monthly donations to four or five local organizations. She’s fortunate enough to have a tech job that gives her a good salary, and she knows that a recurring donation is more valuable to a non-profit because they can rely on that money month after month, and can plan ways to stretch that dollar for maximum impact. One of those organizations is a native plant trust, and once she’s out of her apartment complex and in a home with a yard, she has plans to convert it into a haven of local flora.
My partner works for a company that is working to help regulate crypto and hold the current bad actors in the space accountable for their actions. We unfortunately live in a time where technology develops far too fast for bureaucracy to keep up with, but just because people use a technology for ill gain doesn’t mean the technology itself is bad. The blockchain is something that she finds fascinating and powerful, and she is using her degree and her expertise to turn it into a tool for good.
I knew someone who always had a bag of treats in their purse, on the odd chance they came across a stray cat or dog, they had something to offer them.
I follow artists who post about every local election they know of, because they know their platform gives them more reach than the average person, and that they can leverage that platform to encourage people to vote in elections that get less attention, but in many ways have more impact on the direction our country is going to go.
All of this to say, there’s more than one way to do good in the world. Social media leads us to believe that the loudest, the most vocal, the most prolific poster is the most virtuous, but they are only a piece of the puzzle. (And if virtue for virtues sake is your end goal, you’ve already lost, but that’s a different post). Community is built of people leveraging their privileges to help those without them. We need people doing all of those things and more, because no individual can or should do all of it. You would be stretched too thin, your efforts valiant, but less effective in your ambition.
None of this is to encourage inaction. Identify your unique strengths, skills, and privileges, and put them to use. Determine what causes are important to you, and commit to doing what you can to help them. Collective action is how change is made, but don’t forget that we need diversity in actions taken.
