THE PINOY MONSTER LOVER ANTHOLOGY (After Dark), our next entry for the komiks anthology series, is now looking for artists. This anthology will be NSFW! More details below.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: DECEMBER 1 2023

The Pinoy Monster Lover Anthology focuses on Filipino, mostly LGBTQ+ stories centred on either Filipino characters, monsters/folklore creatures, or both.

PLEASE SEND YOUR BASIC IDEA AND ART SAMPLES/PORTFOLIOS to [email protected] as well as projected page count.

I will narrow down the list and announce the choices in early December, whereupon we'll start production and prepare the fundraiser.

Q: Money?

A: We will launch a Kickstarter to fundraise for this comic so that we can cover everyone's rates :)

Q: Privacy?

A: You'll have to divulge info to the editor (me) in order to get paid and whatnot, but you're free to use any name and ID you prefer for this. Your privacy will be protected.

Q: Language?

A: The Anthology will be in English but I can speak Tagalog, so if you want to write the story out in Tagalog, I can help translate and edit it for English.

have u (motzie or the podcast) ever collaborated with aswang project?

We haven't, but Jordan and I have communicated online often because of our shared interests!

He strongly supported The Pinoy Monster Lover Anthology when it came out. He even sent me a free copy of the Dictionary of Philippine Mythology (english translation) that he edited, which is a prized possession.

I like to point people to the Aswang Project for a good resource for Philippine mythology and folklore, because they're very good at citing sources and trying to have proper citation for the information they get, while also being extremely accessible online.

I definitely should get in touch with him to collab or just meet up and chat sometime.

🇵🇭Aswang At Berdugo is a political horror in which a young superhero meets an Aswang who kills murderous Manila police.

Pinoy Monster Boyfriend Anthology V2 has most of the same stories as the original copy, apart from a brand new story by Nowherebear, "First Sacrament", and a brand new cover and interior art by Defenestratin!

Calling all Filipino artists! Due to some behind the scenes issues, we are in need of a replacement comic for one of our titles in The Pinoy Monster Lover Anthology

We need a 6-page black and white 6.5x8.5in comic focusing on characters or relationships that fall under the BTQ+ portion of LGBTQ+, as well as featuring monsters and/or humans who are Filipino.This includes bi, pan, queer, NB, trans characters, and relationships such as polyamory or queerplatonic relationships (among others). 

The 6 pages can be a full story, or can be, for example, a comic and some artworks, as long as they come up to 6 pages. 

Payment can be made based on the first month of sales as a downpayment, and the rest will be paid in August 2021, or the amount can be paid in full by August 2021, exactly one year after the release of Version 1 of the anthology. Payment is based on an artist's % contribution to the zine applied to sales.

Your name and if you are a member of the LGBTQ+ community (if you are comfortable with sharing). There are no restrictions for artists, but LGBTQ+ people will have closer consideration due to the nature of the subject matter.
