Cute Animals: Animals are special to us because they are adorable and innocent. But sometimes, even the cutest creatures can be dangerous to humans. In this article, we will talk about ten cute animals that can harm us. It's important to be careful around them. Let's learn more about these seemingly harmless creatures. 1. Panda Panda Next From Cuddly to Fierce: Pandas are often seen as symbols of peace and kindness, capturing our hearts with their innocent and helpless appearance. But don't be deceived by their cuddly looks. Pandas are incredibly strong and have powerful jaws that can cause serious harm. These adorable creatures, despite their love for bamboo, can chase you for longer than you can run. It's a reminder that even the cutest animals should be respected and given their space. Next 2. Swan Swan Prev Next From Cute to Fierce: Pandas are often considered symbols of peace and kindness, and their innocent and helpless appearance melts our hearts. However, it's important not to be fooled by their cuddly looks. Pandas are incredibly strong and have powerful jaws that can cause serious harm. Despite their love for bamboo, these adorable creatures can chase you for longer than you can run. It's a reminder that even the cutest animals should be respected and given their space. Prev Next 3. Leopard Seal Leopard Seal Prev Next The Smiling Predator: Leopard seals may look cute with their charming smile and playful behavior, but they are not as harmless as they seem. These marine animals have a wide-ranging diet and can eat almost anything that comes their way. There have been cases where people have tragically lost their lives while swimming with these seemingly friendly seals. It's unclear why these incidents happen, so it's important to be cautious when coming across them. Prev Next 4. Anteater Anteater Prev Next Beware of the Claws: Anteaters may appear scruffy and harmless at first, but their claws can cause serious harm if they feel provoked. Although their claws are mainly used for digging up food, they will not hesitate to defend themselves if they perceive a threat. In 2014, unfortunate hunters experienced painful cuts from the razor-sharp claws of an anteater after startling it. It's best to admire these unique creatures from a safe distance to avoid any unwanted encounters. Prev Next 5. Elephant Elephant Prev Next Gentle Giants with a Vengeful Streak: Elephants, known for their kind and gentle nature, surprisingly cause a significant number of human deaths each year. These intelligent creatures have remarkable memory and can hold grudges, sometimes seeking revenge. Mistreatment and disrespect towards elephants have resulted in a rise in fatal incidents. It's crucial to recognize their immense strength and treat them with the respect they deserve. Prev Next 6. Tasmanian Devil Tasmanian Devil Prev Next More Than Meets the Eye: The Tasmanian Devil, known for its cartoonish appearance, may seem funny and harmless. But this marsupial is anything but. With powerful teeth and excellent night-hunting skills, the Tasmanian Devil is a formidable predator. Despite its resemblance to a mole, its strength and agility make it a dangerous creature to come across, particularly in the wild. Prev Next 7. Pufferfish Pufferfish Prev Next A Deadly Culinary Delight: The pufferfish, famous for its ability to inflate its body, hides a deadly secret. In Japan, eating fugu, a dish made from pufferfish, can be extremely risky. The fish's liver contains a highly potent neurotoxin, and even the smallest mistake during its preparation can be fatal. To enjoy this delicacy without risking your life, it's important to dine at reputable restaurants with experienced chefs. Prev Next 8. Dolphin Dolphin Prev Next
Flipper's Dark Side: Dolphins, typically known for their intelligence and playful nature, have occasionally shown signs of aggression. While instances of dolphin attacks on humans are uncommon, it's important to be cautious, particularly in the wild. Their high level of intelligence can lead to unpredictable behavior, and approaching them without proper understanding may have unexpected outcomes. Prev Next 9. Slow Loris Slow Loris Prev Next Innocence Masking Venom: Slow lorises, with their enchanting eyes and adorable looks, have a certain appeal. However, they are the only venomous primates on Earth. If bitten, their venom can cause serious health issues, including anaphylactic shock. Despite their cuteness and seemingly harmless nature, it's important to admire slow lorises from a distance to ensure the safety of both humans and the animals themselves. Prev Next 10. Poison Dart Frog Poison Dart Frog Prev Beauty Concealing Danger: Poison dart frogs may look like they came straight out of a fairytale, with their vibrant colors and enchanting appearance. However, these frogs are highly toxic, and some species have enough venom to kill multiple adults. In the wild, their bright colors serve as a warning to potential predators, signaling that they are dangerous. It's safest to admire these beautiful creatures from a distance, appreciating their allure without putting yourself at risk. Conclusion While we may find animals adorable, it's important to keep in mind that looks can be deceiving. The ten animals discussed in this article serve as a reminder that even the cutest creatures can have hidden dangers. By respecting their boundaries and observing them from a safe distance, we can strike a balance between our love for animals and our own safety. A minimalist frog textile I did, experimenting more with selection-based illustration and solid color dropping as opposed to drawing everything out beforehand. Overall it was a fun exercise, and while I feel a lot more comfortable with line art I’ve been trying to push myself more lately to experiment with other ways of creating. . . . . . . . #mariaoglesbyart #spoonflowerfabric #spoonflowerdesignchallenge #frogs #poisondartfrog #poisondartfrogs #frogart #frogs #repeatingpattern https://www.instagram.com/p/Cqs7grgLf27/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

One of our good friends gave us a whole pile of bromeliads including this Neoregelia bromeliad (NEOREGELIA ‘Clarice’) The original plants come from Costa Rica and in their native habitat many species of poison dart frog use them to reproduce. The frogs raise their tadpoles in the water-filled cup of the bromeliads' rosettes, keeping them safe and in return the waste products from the frogs and their offspring, are used by the plant for nourishment. Haven’t seen any poison dart frogs but insect and plant waste is collecting so I suppose the Brom’s are happy since they are flowering. #flower #NeoregeliaClarice #CostaRica #PoisonDartFrog #Bromeliad #abcmygarden #outdoor #purple #vibrant #waterwise (at Belmont, New South Wales, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CphNyJ8PqUy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

You may have grown up calling these bright little frogs “poison dart frogs.” However, they are now frequently referred to simply as “dart frogs” without the poison part being included. This is because dart frogs have become a popular pet to breed in captivity, and when bred in captivity they exhibit no poison. In the wild, they are some of the most poisonous creatures on Earth, so why not in captivity? It turns out the frog’s ecology is responsible for its poison. The frogs eat a certain species of ant, and that ant eats a certain species of tree. The ants consume and concentrate specific alkaloids, which then in turn are consumed and concentrated by the frogs eating the ants. In the end, the concentrations are so high in the frogs that they can become deadly to most predators, which is why they advertise their poison with bright colors. It’s a fascinating example of ecology’s role in the biology of individual animals. 🐜🐸☠️ #dartfrogs #poisondartfrog #ecology #biology #alkaloids (at Zoo Knoxville) https://www.instagram.com/p/CoNoHSsuBZe/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Poison Dart Frog- Poison Arrow of the Amazon rainforest
Tumblr media
Subhajit Makhal: 'I saw a little frog. He was cuter than can be. He was sitting on a log. And I'm sure he crooked at me'. A poem describing the beauty and wonders of a frog. As we know all men are different so are frogs. Few species among frogs though look cute is not so friendly. Yes it is true. These frogs are none other than Poison Dart Frogs. Poison Darts Frogs belong to tropical Central and South America. These frogs loves to reside in moist, humid, tropical rainforests of South America and Central America. Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, Panama, Guyana, Suriname are those countries where these frogs reside. Poison Dart Frogs loves to reside in swamps, dense forests, lakes, marshes, swamps and flooded areas. As the name of the frog is Poison Dart Frog.
Tumblr media
It secrets toxins like Histrionicotoxin, Epibatidine, Batrachotoxin, Pumiliotoxin 251D and Allopumiliotoxin 267 A through their own skin. In short the more colourful it is the more toxic the frog will be. The interesting fact is that Poison Dart Frogs secret toxins not for hunting it's own prey rather it's for only self-defense. When any predators eat these frogs they eventually become ill and die. There are various Poison Dart Species upto 170 species. Only four species are very toxic and out of these four the golden poison dart frog is the most poisonous. One frog has an average of one milligram of poison which is enough to kill 20 humans and even big elephants. The question that arise in our minds is why Poison Dart Frogs are so toxic??? What can be the reason???? ....... Well the answer is very simple.
Tumblr media
A saying goes "We are what we eat".Hence this line is applicable to frogs also. Poison Dart Frogs feeds upon poison ants, Centipedes which has toxins in them as well. Eating toxic foods make them toxic as well. Poison Dart Frogs lives happily in the Amazon Rainforest without any threat from predators unlike other frogs. But there is only one predator a snake named Fire-bellied snake species in this world which has immunity against toxins of Posion Dart Frogs. Humans particularly those living in the Amazon rainforest has been smart enough to use the toxins of Poison Dart Frogs to their own advantage. Many tribes of Amazon rainforest capture these frogs and extract their toxins by rubbing darts and arrow heads on the frog's skin. Thus the darts and arrowheads becomes highly toxic . The tribal people thus use these poison darts and arrowheads to hunt animals and even fight battles against rival tribes. Poison dart frogs can live upto 15 years.
Tumblr media
It weighs around 28 grams. Size of these frogs upto 6cm. The greatest thing about Poison Dart Frogs are that apart for being an advantage for the native tribes. These frog's toxins are a boon for us. Researchers and Scientists after studying the compound found in Poison Dart Frog's that it has a painkiller stronger than even morphine and also with no side effects. These frogs lay their eggs on palnts and roots. Mother Poison Dart Frogs purposely feed their tadpoles i.e baby frogs with unfertilized eggs which is very high in toxins so the tadpoles become poisonous from the tender age. Now let's talk about their existence. These Posion Dart Frogs have become highly endangered. Illegal traders and dealers smuggle these frogs as their bright skin colours stands them out. Heavy deforestation and and increasing infrastructures will soon lead to mass extinction of thus beautiful species. Read the full article
