y'all I have 99 works on ao3, I feel like I should do something fun/significant for my 100th! maybe like. a migraine-fic? It's actually been so long since I've done one properly and it would be such a fun callback to reemerging daylight (I meant to do a sort of re-imagining of that fic late last year but that idea derailed a bit and turned into something else that I absolutely needed to write but now I'm basically back at square one with that concept).

what do you all think? do you have any fun prompts for a 100th ao3 fic?

Like we know the RD writers attempt at writing Archie as a genuinely good guy, loyal, kind, caring, a bit selfish sometimes but learns from his mistakes. The guy who wants to help the town. The problem is every action Archie takes disproves that. But Nick is ACTUALLY written like that. He is the Archie they think Archie is.

When Cas talks about explaining freedom to angels being like teaching poetry to fish. When earlier he was told don't step on that fish. Big plans for that fish. The fish of course couldn't possibly understand poetry, it's too busy climbing out of water and trying not to die in this new world. But what it will become, one of the many things it will eventually become, is a human. It will learn poetry eventually. But it'll take a lot of time and constant evolution to get there. Do you think Castiel was thinking about that fish when he said that.

I just want to navigate a creepy old dilapidated mansion collecting secret codes from books but NOT in a scary way! #just like I want fantasy & historical content but NOT in an action romance way!! #Also.. NEOPETS.. I think my two favorites are both one of the most common choices and also one of the least lol #like EVERYONE loves aishas pretty much. I think they even won a favorite neopets poll on tumblr. But then nobody talks about vandagyres #or even cares about them (seemingly) and they have like so few clothes or good options because they're just irrelevant apparently #also I know it seems very uncharacteristic for the neopet that's basically A Cat to not be in my favorites but I just gjhjhbj #the eyebrows of the wocky bother me. it doesn't match everything else. Even in different paintrbsuh colors it will be #nice and cohesive and pastel or something and then two big dark lines. I aesthetically love thick dark eyebrows on people it just looks wei #rd on a cartoon cat. when it comes to writing cm fics, do you think to like, synthesize the different kurosawas and adachis you like into one quintessential thing? or do you just choose one version (either the drama, manga/anime, cn radio drama) and write?

every version of krdc is Extremely distinct in my head so for fics i always pick one version of them (usually the drama kdjkf) and stick w that

Some Scootaloo and Rainbow Stuff (Sleepless in Ponyville/S03E06 and Flight to the Finish/S04E05)

I completely forgot just how good RD and Scootaloo episodes were and how sweet RD can actually be. Their found sisters or mentor/protégé relationship is absolutely adorable to watch, especially with how little Scoot admires Rainbow and just wants to impress her! Also it's such a nice balance that RD actually becomes pretty mature as soon as younger kids are involved. There's nothing much more to say, I just love it! <3 Also this episode had some pretty nice graphics as well, especially the shots where Luna was involved.

(also side note: I can't get over how absolutely adorable Scootaloo looks when she's crying ;_; I love the little crinkly nose and how everything's animated.)

And then S04E05 happens and it's just as heartwarming (breaking?) as the first episode. Scootaloo not being able to fly as a pegasus was bound to be the center of an episode at some point. And they made such a nice resolution with her and Rainbow <3 I love these two episodes so so so much <3

The thing that worries me most in hindsight about bod, is the fact that disneyfanatic(insert numbers here) explicitly stated that her favorite character is Apple jack! She even voiced her in the series if I remember correctly!

I've seen posts about people giving her the benefit of the doubt, that she wrote all the toxic and manipulative things into bod because she didn't know better, but her choosing to make her self insert into a pedophile REALLY doesn't help her at all

ive seen one of her community posts on my youtube since ive watched bod for a while, and it was literally ANOTHER applespike drawing. she still hasnt changed at all and it's incredibly worrying 🤢 i didnt realize that aj was her fav or self-insert, but looking at her character in hindsight it probably shoulda been more obvious to me 😅

im literally all for inserting facets of yourself into the story, especially considering im a self-insert romance writer myself, but imagine doing it THIS badly that you not only lowkey out yourself as a predator, but also inhibit your ENTIRE story by making her nearly unbearable

now that i think about it, it also adds a disgusting new layer of toxicity to the dynamic between fluttershy and discord being weirdly paternal. he's always calling her "missy", attempts to shape her to his image multiple times, continuously establishes himself as her superior, is overly protective over her, not to mention fluttershy's voice is VERY young-sounding at times, which was made a lot more obvious when i slowed down the video to write along. it makes me suspect this is similar to a lore olympus situation where the female lead is infantilized and the male lead is a "dilf" simply to cater to the author's fetish.

in my opinion, age gap relationships are fine for the most part as long as the minimum age of both ADULTS is in their 20's, but the dynamics of the relationships will NEED extreme attention to be able to be healthy. DF doesnt do this, and even contributed to the normalization of grooming in age gap-relationships, which is made VERY apparent by the comments from young children on the videos of those predatory moments. even with applespike, many kids, including me, felt uncomfortable at first by the fact that he's a child, but the in-story defense of applejack made me hesitate to speak against it. that is already way to much influence over a kid, and in some of the worst cases, may have led others to accept it in their everyday lives.
