I'm doing a bit of a robron rewatch (not the whole story, just some episodes that I really liked) and I just finished SSW 2016, and the first wedding. They were truly Good Times. I feel like (and I'm obviously completely wrong in these thoughts!) that we as a fandom were pandered to in a way that hasn't happened before or since. Obviously all the Soap Stuff happened (the car crash, the wedding crash, later the marriage crash), but it feels like all the things we wanted for Robert and Aaron happened. And of course, that wasn't the case at all: this award winning, national soap did not see that the robron fandom needed feeding and delivered us a sheer smorgasbord of treats, but for a little while it felt that way. And it wasn't like it made us feel entitled or powerful, it just made us feel happy. And it made us feel connected with each other, because we were sharing all these highs and lows with each other, and feeding off each others excitement. It really was the best of times (and at times the worst of times), and I feel so... is grateful too strong a word? Possibly, but heck I'm gonna use it anyway. I'm grateful to have gone through all of that, and to have gone through it with you guys.

Lol #But it's there now and I like it #I'm reminiscing on the good times #And there were a lot of them #It's been 2 years since I stopped watching emmerdale #And I still miss the way that as a fandom we'd come together #Whether to watch it together across the miles #Or to rant rave scream about it later #It feels like an era you know #Times that we can never get back #Like when the main character of a teen movie is looking back at their high school days #And the voice over says things changed after that #So and so moved away and such and such got married #But for those few years it felt like we were on top of the world #Robron #Robron fandom

I love how hardcore we are. I mean it's been 4 years and still.... there's an article with a more or less hopeful tone about the possibility of seeing robron on our screen again somewhere in the future and we're acting like it's the best thing that's ever happened in years.... which is true but you know what I mean.

Hello! If you’d like to know what level of Robron resurrection delusion I’m at right now well I spent all of last night losing it in the gc as I transported back to 2015, then I dreamt of Robert in prison getting a call and thought it was real when I woke up. All kind of soapy scenarios are running round my head rent free. I’m studying Danny’s April insta post and snippets of interviews like pieces of research for a dissertation, as well as debating whether to walk past the studios every day to see if I can spot anything. My stomach keeps doing little flip-flops coming across throwback content AND I redownloaded this stupid app just to express my stupid thoughts.

Turns out that feeling never really left 🥹
