Aww, thank you so much, my lovely anon! I’m so glad you enjoy my Saiyuki stuff – this fandom really is always such a wonderful one to create and write in!

Who has the more bizarre quirks?

I honestly do think that all the Sanzo-Ikkou really have their own weird little quirks that we see wonderfully in canon and that, in an odd twist, a lot of their own weird little quirks kind of balance and complement each other’s quirks. So, I’m moving into other characters here and I do think that, out of the massive cast of characters in Saiyuki, Nii honestly has the most bizarre quirks, shown in a darker, more sinister way, while I do believe that Koumyou also had a lot of weird, bizarre little quirks, interests, and ways of doing things, but that they were shown in a very light way, almost as a contrast between the two Sanzo’s.

Who answers their phone at 2 am?

It’s either Gojyo or Hakkai. I have mentioned numerous times that I do believe Gojyo is a huge night owl and it’s not too unusual for him to still be up that late. However, I don’t think he’s really all that great about picking up his phone, should he have one. He’ll check to see who’s calling but he’s horrible for declining calls if he just doesn’t want to talk to that person or pretending he doesn’t see or hear the phone. Hakkai, meanwhile, is normally asleep that late, except for when something is weighing heavy on his mind or bothering him, in which case, he’s normally puttering around, trying to get to a place where he can sleep. However, Hakkai is a light sleeper who will always hear his phone ring and, while he might be upset at his sleep being disturbed, I do think that he assumes that anyone calling him that late is probably in trouble and, while he may be tempted to ignore the call, he has enough regrets already and doesn’t want another one added to it, in case he refused a serious call and something bad happened to the person on the other line.

Month of Saiyuki (day 26)

The boys all get a Tumblr account! What do they like to post?

Goku: he would probably post a mix of food-related stuff (mostly dishes he eats) and physical training stuff i.e. powerlifting and body building.

Sanzo: obscure quotes from Cha'n teachings but those would be posted very infrequently because he is not a social media guy (he doesn't give me this vibe at least)

Hakkai: a blog about books, nerd culture, recipes and sometimes pics of Hakuryuu

Gojyo: selfies, reblogs from hotties, music and random humour

Hakuryuu: Hakkai would make a blog for him and in this blog he would talk about his life and daily challenges with Sanzo Ikkou members (mostly how to take care of them XD)

Yaone: she would post about alchemy, inner alchemy and some beauty-related stuff

Lirin: memes, pics of food and reblogs from Goku's blog and Hakkai's posts about cooking. Goku might follow her back as well especially for the food stuff.

Kougaiji: metal music and random obscure stuff about magic

Dokugakuji: maybe vlogs and a reblogs from Kougaiji's posts (they would follow each other).

Gyokumen Koushu: selfie, selfies and more selfies (she has a big ego after all and social media would only boost it).

Ukoku: a blog about the dark aspects and implications of Science just for the sake of making people feel uncomfortable. He would have a porn second blog and would stalk everyone's blog (minus Lirin), especially Sanzo Ikkou's blogs. Sometimes he might even act like a troll. He would then become bored and would deleted some of his posts if not the entire blog.

Hwang: personal blog about her interests and science-related stuff. She would secretly follow Gyokumen's blog with a secondary blog. A side blog about clothing might be her way to express her interest in Gyokumen.

Zakuro: lots of metal music-related stuff and reblogs from different blogs (mostly inspirational quotes XD).

Koumyou Sanzo: pics of his temple, Kouryou, tea and cigarette brands, quotes from Buddhist monks and random non-sense posts (mostly because he is not used to social media).

Sharak Sanzo: survival tips in the woods that even Bear Grylls would envy her and advice in fighting youkai.

Taruchie: none, she has no time for this.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? I think Sasukelicious is probably the truly crackiest thing I've ever written, but the dragon poo fic is the crack-adjacent thing I'm proudest of.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? Uhhhh. Actively, writing-wise? I wrote for six straight years for Saiyuki, so that. Inactively? DS9, which I've been a fan of since it first aired and I do still occasionally read fic for. I wrote down a sort of outline for a story idea back in my teen years, which I suppose would count as my first taste of fan-writing, but I never actually did anything with it.

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend After rifling through years and years of fandoms here, maybe...maybe Jake Sisko. This question was way way harder than I thought it would be.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice) Hmm. More fairy tale adaptation fics, more Dreamling+Rose-and-Jed family-type content, and, uh...more appreciation for 1489 eager-awkward printer's-apprentice Hob.

Continuing on with this fandom meme, this time for my long-time fandom that's been surprisingly more popular than I thought it would be, Saiyuki!

Send me a letter and I’ll tell you which character…

A: Is most attractive (to me): Honestly, this one tends to fluctuate a lot. It’s changed every time I’ve read or reread the manga as to which person I find most attractive, though let’s be real…they’re all attractive. This latest time around though, I was very, very much into Gojyo!

B: Gets bored the fastest: It’s a toss up between Goku and Gojyo. Gojyo is more of a quiet, lazy bored though as compared to Goku’s much more antsy, louder, and whinier bored.

C: Is the most open to cuddling: Gojyo craves physical touch. The reasons why are numerous and probably something he should discuss with a therapist, if only their world had those, but that physical contact? That act of just feeling someone against you, alive and real and wanting to be there with you? It’s something he would honestly go a little insane without. Cuddling and physical contact is a necessity for him, to the point he seeks it in random women he can pick up just to have it.

D: Fears death the most: Despite having so much power and control over it, or maybe because of that, Hazel has a proper fear of death, more so than any other character I could think of.

E: Is the most emotive: A ‘stupid monkey’, Goku rarely thinks about hiding what he’s thinking or feeling. Most of the time, he’s upfront and his emotions and reactions are somewhat easy to see or guess, especially so for those who know him well.

F: Is my favourite: All of the main four, to be honest, and Dokugakuji. They all kind of tie for the same place as there’s so much about each character that entertains and intrigues me and gets me to thinking and wondering. Purely to write about, I feel Gojyo edges everyone out though as he’s always come the most naturally to me to write for.

G: Has the greenest thumb: I feel like Yaone not only has a green thumb but genuinely enjoys plants and gardening. She’d definitely be a plant mama if she could and would have names for her plants and would hum or talk to them.

H: Trusts their horoscope the most: Lirin is quite superstitious that way, something the others make fun of her for.

I: Tends to idolize people they shouldn’t: While her reasoning is sound, and it’s not idolization but approval she craves, Lirin does have some issues in that area.

J: Tells the most dad jokes: Hakkai likes puns. Does that make him a dad? If so, he’d be okay with that. It’s better than everyone considering him the team mom! His puns are delivered so stealthily too, with the same serene expression he often wears, and he never explains the pun.

K: Is the most skilled in the kitchen: I hate giving the same answer over and over, but it really is Hakkai. He is a good cook and does honestly enjoy cooking for others.

L: Lies the most: Nii. It’s more half-truth or things that could vaguely be interpreted as true most of the time, just to give himself some leeway if anyone should accuse him but honestly, he’s perfectly content to lie and manipulate and actually enjoys doing so.

M: Is the biggest memer: If memes existed in the world of Saiyuki, I feel that all of Kougaiji’s group except for Kougaiji would be all into memes. And they’d constantly bombard Kougaiji with them because the poor man just does not understand them.

N: Needs way more attention from me: Honestly, thinking about it, the answer kind of surprised me but it’s definitely Kougaiji. I can count on one hand the number of times I think I’ve actually written anything for him, despite thinking that he’d be one of the most popular. Normally, it’s just the main four I write for, or their previous incarnations.

O: Has the most OCs of their own: I feel like Goku wins this one. He made up friends, people, stories to occupy his mind in those long years he spent alone because it was the only way to protect his mind.

P: Is the purest, most perfect cinnamon roll: Jeep. It’s Jeep because it sure as hell isn’t anyone else!

Q: Is the quickest to judge others: Sanzo is a judgmental asshole. I love him to death, but he’d probably judge me for even that.

R: Feels the most detached from reality: Reality? Nii could really stand to learn what that even is. I really don’t think he’s fully aware, living in his mind as much as he does, spinning and spiraling plans and plots…that and the man is insane. That’s about as far from reality as a mind can go.

S: Has the strongest spirit: There is not one single character among the main cast of characters who do not have strong spirits. They simply could not live if they didn’t.

T: Is the most terrifying: This is just for me personally, but Nii scares the ever-living shit out of me as a character. He’s crazy but such a smart crazy and it makes him dangerous beyond belief.

U: Is the most unapologetic for the way they live their life: All of the characters do. They’ve all made hard choices and been through a lot. They stick by their decisions; they live the lives they’ve chosen and give it all they have.

V: Is the best at video games: If video games existed, I really feel like both Hakkai and Sanzo would be insanely good gamers. With his pretty face and filthy mouth, I could actually see Sanzo becoming a popular Twitch streamer, only at the insistence of the others.

W: Watches the most anime: Again, assuming anime was a thing in their world…I feel it would have been Tenpou. He seems like he’d be all into many types of anime, but especially Shonen or gag anime, and would get really into a lot of fandoms.

X: Is the most xenial towards complete strangers: Hazel but only if those complete strangers are yokai or half yokai. Basically, anything along those lines and he thinks you’re trash to be wiped out.

Y: Yells the most: Sanzo, but to be fair, they normally give him a reason to yell at them.

Z: Gets the most overzealous over something others wouldn’t expect: Dokugakuji actually really likes poetry, especially haiku. While he sucks at writing, having horribly illegible handwriting, he enjoys spoken poetry and is pretty good at making them up himself when he’s in the right mood.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?: probably I Call The Shots(snk), everyone died. Or Keep Pushing (snk), everyone is GOING to die.

What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?: probably Found a Place to Rest my Head (saiyuki), cause no one dies and they adopt kids.

Do you get hate on fics?: on this one particular Hannibal fic

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?: All kinds. Partial to anything with any kinda dirty talk/praise kink. Literally cant write smut without that featured. After that, a lot of D/s tones.

Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?: I’ve actually never written a crossover?! Like at most ive written “ y characters in x universe” like. Typical hogwarts au or some shit. Craziest of those i’ve written was a sentinel/guide au for spn.

What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?: This University Au for moon knight that is sitting half finished in my Docs is fucking haunting me.

 What are your writing strengths?: Putting my whole pussy into whatever it is i’m writing. Also, imagery and extended metaphors.

What are your writing weaknesses?: Cohesion. The ideas are there but smoothing them together is so tough!

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?: I wish i could do it because it adds a flavour of authenticity to the fic but… i also know i hate reading it, and if i can suspend my disbelief and IMAGINE the character is speaking a different language when im told they are, thats enough.

First fandom you wrote for?: Technically Yugioh, but never posted. So Officially, Naruto.

Fave fic you’ve written?: impossible question BUT gun to my head for an answer, i think i did a DAMN GOOD job on Artemis Agrotera (the walking dead). Some A+ imagery and extended metaphors there.
