Chris Hillman, Roger McGuinn and Marty Stuart performing “Hickory Wind” ____________________________ Hickory Wind Songwriter: Gram Parsons and Bob Buchanan
In South Carolina there are many tall pines I remember the oak tree that we used to climb But now when I’m lonesome, I always pretend That I’m getting the feel of hickory wind I started out younger at most everything All the riches and pleasures, what else could life bring? But it makes me feel better each time it begins Callin’ me home, hickory wind It’s a hard way to find out that trouble is real In a far away city, with a far away feel But it makes me feel better each time it begins Callin’ me home, hickory wind Keeps callin’ me home, hickory wind

This Morning -
The Chief Whip and deputy have unresigned. Apparently they felt undermined by Climate Minister, Graham Stuart, who said it wasn't a confidence vote after the whips said it was.
Tory peer, Lord Ed Vaizey reckons Liz Truss should go: "In terms of shocking self belief, there will be five or six people out there who genuinely believe they could be prime minister." The trick, he says, will be appointing someone as leader who can command the loyalty of the parliamentary party.
MP Crispin Blunt is sticking to his guns after being the first to call for Truss to resign after Kwasi Kwarteng was fired (nice to see a Tory MP not performing a U-turn). He says Liz Truss should be removed from office today, it should have been clear she was incapable of leading the party, never even should have put herself up for the leadership, and Rishi Sunak or Jeremy Hunt should be appointed PM.
On a side-note, does anyone else remember when Jeremy Hunt was the worst Tory MP you could think of?
In the meantime, Transport Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan has said that Liz Truss is the right person to be leading the Conservative Party. "She's a prime minister and we continue to support her," Trevelyan told BBC Breakfast.
Tory MP, Simon Hoare told BBC Radio 4's Today programme that he feels "anger, despair, sadness" as "good work which has been done over recent years appears to be dissolving before our eyes". He's giving Liz Truss 12 hours to turn things around or she'll be out. "I have never known a growing sense of pessimism in all wings of the Tory party."
Not content with letting the BBC have all the interviews, Kirstie Buchanan, formerly media adviser to Liz Truss, told ITV's Good Morning Britain, "The last few weeks have been like watching the government through your fingers, it's excruciating, but I have never seen anything like last night, it was carnage."

Rebus – BBC picks up new series
BY IAN MCARDELL FILED UNDER NEWS
Richard Rankin takes on the role of the famous Scottish detective
The BBC acquired the Scottish crime drama Rebus. Made by Eleventh Hour Films for Viaplay, and based on Ian Rankin’s novels, the series stars Richard Rankin (no relation) in the title role.
The detective has been previously played, as an Inspector, by both John Hannah and Ken Stott.
Rebus
The six-part series has been adapted for the screen by Gregory Burke who reimagines the character earlier in his career. Detective Sergeant John Rebus is drawn into a violent criminal conflict that turns personal when his brother Michael, a former soldier, crosses the line into criminality. Rebus finds himself torn between protecting his brother and enforcing the law to bring Michael to justice.
Gregory Burke To Adapt Ian Rankin’s Rebus Series as Eleventh Hour Drama Black Watch. Both adaptations, have Richard Rankin’s participation. Based on interviews with former soldiers, it tells the story of troops from the then Black Watch regiment serving in Iraq. The play toured around the world and went on to win four Olivier Awards.

The series promises to explore family, morality and class in an emotionally charged story, set against the Scottish landmarks that Rankin’s readers know so well.
Joining Richard Rankin (Outlander), the series also stars Lucie Shorthouse (Bulletproof), Brian Ferguson (The Ipcress File) and Amy Manson (The Nevers). Plus, Neshla Caplan, Noof Ousellam, Stuart Bowman, Caroline Lee Johnson, Sean Buchanan, Thoren Ferguson and Michelle Duncan.
Filming took place in Glasgow and Edinburgh last year.
Author Ian Rankin says:
“I’m thrilled that Rebus is coming to the BBC. A great cast and a compelling story – I really can’t wait for viewers to see it.”

Actor Richard Rankin adds:
“I am thrilled that Rebus will premiere on the BBC. It’s been an honour taking on the role of Ian Rankin’s renowned John Rebus. A character enjoyed by so many in such a fresh and original adaptation.”
The six-part series is directed by Niall MacCormick (Wallander) and Fiona Walton (Shetland) and is produced by Angela Murray. Paula Cuddy, Jill Green, Eve Gutierrez, Tomas Axelsson, Isabelle Hultén, Niall MacCormick, Gregory Burke and Ian Rankin are the Executive Producers.
Rebus will air on BBC Scotland, BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this spring.

About Mary&George, there's something really important to understand about king James's attitude.
James VI and I was deepley traumatized because he had a shitty and traumatic childhood, something who affected him for all his life.
The first trauma happened when he wasn't even born!!!
9th march 1566, queen Mary's secretary, the Italian Davide Rizzio ( or Riccio ) was stabbed 57 times by plotters, he tried to save himself hiding behind the queen but it doesn't work.
Mary was deeply traumatized for this not only per sè but for an other motive. She was six moth pregnant and lord Ruthven pointed his sword against his belly and threated to cut her "in pieces". Yes, James was not even born, it was said that he was afraid of swords 'cause this.
when he was 8 months his father was killed, by the man who became his stepfather, his mother was innocent
The 24 april 1567 he saw for the last time his mother, queen Mary Stuart was abducted, imprisoned and raped by james Hepbun lord bothwell. Yes, I know for someone Mary/Bothwell are a very romantic love story but let's be clear. it was a toxic relationship
Two moths later his mother is forced to amrry Bothwell 'cause she's pregnant, with twins, and after a short civil war she's imprisoned by the queen Elizabeth
James is crowned king at 13 months and the regency is on his half uncle, lord James Moray
James Moray was killed in 1570
The the regenty become yhe king's granfather: Matthew Lennox
Matthew Lennox was killed when James was 5, and it's very gory: the consipirator stab him in front of the child, Lennox tried to save himself behind his king, and grandchild but he was taken away by force, then his body, baraly alive, was take near a window and throw away.... ALL OF THIS in front a 5 year child
James was physically abused by his tutor George Buchanan, a puritan fanatic who hates monarchy and beat his pupil nearly every day. James will be one of the most cultured king but he the trauma never left him, one day when he was already king of England he met an old man who looks like Buchanan and he started to tremble.
He said about his tutor "I learned Latin before English", Buchanan also lied about queen Mary's involment in the Darley's death
when he was 13 he met hsi father's cousin, Esmé Stuart and he fall in love with him. Esmé is 39, he's catholic and French so after one year he is forced toi exil but he helps James to start to debunk some things about his mother
when he was 14 he was abucted for an year and nearly killed
It could be end very bad, with James become a psycho but luckly he become a very traumatized man who seek affection from everyone, he came out at 13 so... Esmé, John, Philip, Richard, Robert and then George, he always tried to recreate the relationship between him and Esmé.
and that's all folks

On 14th March 1952 we saw the first TV programme to be broadcast in Scotland
The broadcast showed the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society performing the Duke of Edinburgh Reel.
The BBC’s new television studios, grandly called Broadcasting House, were located at 5 Queen Street. The invitation had specified “Dress -- Highland or Dinner Jacket”.
Guests included Scotland’s aristocratic and cultural elite (Highland attire), plus a handful of London-based BBC executives (Dinner Jackets) who had ventured to their new outpost in what they saw as the frozen North.
In the main studio, the VIP audience was in the focus of live television cameras and the atmosphere was tense. The pictures on the monitor screens were small and horizontally lined, and , of course, in black and white.
In his speech opening the transmitter, the Secretary of State for Scotland, James Stuart, found the time to put in a good word for John Logie Baird. This was followed by a Prayer of Dedication by the Very Rev Charles L. Warr, Dean of the Thistle and Chapel Royal.
After a Vote of Thanks by James Miller, Lord Provost of Edinburgh, the stage was taken over by the first live television entertainment from Scotland: a performance by the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, with Tim Wright and his band.
By 8 p.m. the studio was off the air and the tension relaxed. A buffet was opened and glasses of wine appeared while the guests watched the rest of the evening’s programme from London, starting with Television Newsreel.
The show was seen by a large audience in England but the Scottish viewing numbers were small, with only 2730 licence holders on record as of March 14 1952, this in a time where only the very few dared not to have a Licence! In Helensburgh, John Logie Baird’s birthplace, there were just ten licence holders.
Five years later it was the turn of STV.
"This is Scotland" was an hour of entertainment, anchored by James Robertson Justice, to mark the opening of STV on August 31st 1957.
STV dispensed with dignitaries and there was no prayer of dedication, but instead a big variety show featuring singers and dancers and other celebrities including Alastair Sim, Ludovic Kennedy and Stanley Baxter.
The STV programme has considerable Helensburgh interest, including Jimmy Logan in his prime, and a film clip from the south of France in which Deborah Kerr was interviewed with David Niven. John Logie Baird was not forgotten; James Robertson Justice paid him an elaborate tribute and showed a replica of the early 'Televisor' set.
Jack Buchanan in the inevitable top hat and tails; rather incongruously he led the audience in a chorus of " belong to Glasgow. It must have been one of Buchanan’s last public appearances, he was to die of cancer just two months after the STV opening.

There are two dubbings of this film. The first from 1940 and the second from 1966.
In the cinema releases, the film used the original English title (Pinocchio.) The home media releases re-titled the film (Pinóquio.)
There was a contest before the film's premiere in Brazil to win merchandise from the film. If you would like to learn more about this contest, good friend of the website Leonardo Forli has written an article on his website about it. Link
The 1940 version, along with the Latin Spanish version, were the only foreign language versions of Pinocchio to be released in 1940. This was due to World War II cutting off the European and Asian markets from the USA.
Joracy Camargo only had a short time to translate the movie. He filled the movie with humor and simple for anyone to understand (both kids and adults.) João de Barro also helped translate the script as well by changing some of the wording by Camargo.
After the dialogue was completed at Sonofilms, it was sent to an unknown studio in New York for mixing.
Edmundo Maia was incorrectly credited as Geppetto in a newspaper article. In reality, it was Baptista Júnior that voiced Geppetto. Edmundo Maia did voice the Coachman in the 1940 dub.
There are excerpts from the first dub are available on vinyl records made during the 1940s. Otherwise, the dubbing is lost.
The 1966 dub was first shown in Portugal during the Christmas season of 1966. While in Brazil, it was shown in 1967.
The 1966 dub is the most common dub and is available on all Brazilian home video releases and the first Portugal VHS release.
On the first VHS release, the 1940 technical credits were included as well as the 1966 technical credits.
Selma Lopes was uncredited as Pinocchio's singing voice in the second dubbing. She revealed that she did his singing voice here and here.

VIRTUAL INSANITY IS WHERE WERE LIVING NOW.
youtube
August of 1996.... #jamiroqua
I have a feeling this song is going to be relevant for the next 300 years.
#virtualinsanity
What we're livin' in?
Let me tell ya
And it's a wonder men can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doin' for us?
And I'm givin' all my love to this world
Only to be told
I can't see, I can't breathe
No more will we be
And nothin's gonna change the way we live
'Cause we can always take, but never give
And now that things are changing for the worse, see
Whoa, it's a crazy world we're livin' in
And I just can't see that half of us immersed in sin
Is all we have to give these
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For useless twisting of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground
And I'm thinkin' what a mess we're in
Hard to know where to begin
If I could slip the sickly ties that earthly man has made
And now every mother can choose the colour
Of her child, that's not nature's way
Well, that's what they said yesterday
There's nothin' left to do but pray
I think it's time I found a new religion
Whoa, it's so insane to synthesize another strain
There's something in these futures that we have to be told
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For useless twisting of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground, whoa
Now there is no sound
If we all live underground
And now it's virtual insanity
Forget your virtual reality
Oh, there's nothin' so bad
As a man-made man
Oh yeah, I know, yeah (take it to the dance floor)
Ooh, I know I can't go on
Ooh, of this virtual insanity we're living in
Has got to change, yeah
Things will never be the same
And I can't go on while we're living in, oh
Oh, virtual insanity
Oh, this world has got to change
'Cause I just, I just can't keep going on
In this virtual, virtual insanity
That we're livin' in, that we're livin' in
And a virtual insanity is what it is
Yeah, ooh
Futures made of virtual insanity, now
Always seem to be governed by this love we have
For useless twisting of our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound
For we all live underground
Oh, futures made of, now, virtual insanity
Now we all, we seem to be governed by a love
For these useless twisting of our new technology
And now there is no sound, for we all live underground
Yes, we do, oh
now, this life that we live in
(Virtual insanity) it's all goin' wrong
Out of the window (livin' in), you know
(Virtual insanity) that there is nothing worse than
(Livin' in) a man-made man
(Virtual insanity) there is nothing worse than
(Livin' in) a foolish man (virtual insanity), hey!
Virtual insanity is what we're livin' in, yeah, yeah
Well, it's alright.
