The monsters in "That's Not My Neighbour" aren't exactly sexy. Some of them you can see they ARE the doppelgangers and some, you have to pressure them with questions until they reveal themselves. However, I am NOT surprised that the Milkman seemed to be a fan favourite. Might be his tired eyes or something. Or the fact he's like the handsome one among all the neighbours

AH yes, my "what if Cytherea got a villian monologue" fic that got wildly out of hand. I was primarily motivated to write this fic because I have very very specific opinions about Cytherea & her illness & her relationship to the concepts of death, grief, mourning, dying, etc and needed to inflict them on the world. randall is a character i have surprisingly few thoughts about.. weird to me cuz mm was my first game. i think he's cool though

i think his personality works off hershel's incredibly well, his energy and overconfidence with hershel's calmness and more logical brain is fun. he's good at being hershel's best friend. his design is also nice

his skin colour confused the shit out of me when i first played mm, it was kinda funny.. ive just. accepted it as a weird thing. his entire.. not actually being dead thing in general is a bit confusing now that i think about it but. robot village doesn't make much more sense. i should talk to his adoptive dad more this replay.. i don't remember his name

he's the first character who really got a headcanon, that being that he's a lesbian. i don't really know what his gender is but his pronouns are he/him. lesbian randall got stuck in my brain (because of mild spite but. im over that spite now. still a lesbian though)

What are your top 3 TV shows?

Ooh okay. Let's see.

These are not my top three in terms of *quality* - in fact, I have some serious grumbling to do about all of them! - but they are my top three in terms of how successfully they turned my brain inside out.

Prodigal Son.

This is a drama/procedural about the son of a notorious serial killer working as a forensic psychologist. Mandatory disclaimer before we proceed - because it's a cop show and a psychology show, there's a lot in it that's um. Bad. Misinforming and/or (mostly and) actually morally objectionable.

HOWEVER. The family drama absolutely delights me. It is NOT subtle. But it compels me. Malcolm (the serial killer's son) is an incredibly charismatic lead, and everyone member of the family is so interesting. I love manipulation, I love love/hate relationships, I love sibling rivalries, I love when families kill other people together and then try to kill each other, I love terrible secrets which everyone already knows, and I love Becoming Your Father.

2. BBC Merlin

Fantasy series about a young King Arthur, intense gay subtext, blah blah blah, yeah BBC Merlin we've all seen it.

However, the dark side of this show is, IMO, severely undersold. It's literally a dystopian tragedy! And it features intense manipulation, secrecy, love/hate relationships, and Fucked-Up Fate. Perfect recipe for me. Now if only it would comply with my tonal tastes 30% more often and also bother to pay attention to its female characters,

3. Alex Rider

Young adult spy show. Young adult child soldier show. Adaptation of a book series I read as a kid which is potentially up to 50% of why I'm like this (the other half, of course, being Warrior Cats.)

There was, at one point, a very silly movie adapted from the books, but the show goes in completely the other direction. The books have never been shy about the fact that the "teenage spy" premise necessitates a government willing to exploit and endanger teenagers, but the show REALLY leans into it and I'm so here for it. They torture that child! They torture him JUST to manipulate him and he KNOWS but it still works! It's so fucked up in here. (*Translation from Lucian-speak: it's edgy in a cheesy way but I'm choosing to take it so so seriously because I am blessed with an earnest and whimsical soul.)

The first season is my preferred one by far, because the supervillainous plot the teenage spy is being forced to foil takes place in a *military academy* and we get to go Oh my god... School... is like prison... is like child soldierism. We live in a society. And then there are evil clones. And the evil clones are just kids too!!! Perfect television, no notes. (I jest, but genuinely, if you have [one has] room in your heart for sillyserious YA melodrama, it's great fun and kind of a hidden gem.)

Erune can't sit still. She gets up to pace around her bedroom yet again. Each time she passes the mirror on her vanity, she reevaluates her dress—is this shade of sky blue too on-the-nose? She knows it's a nice color on her, but is wearing it too much? Then again, what could she possibly be saying if she wore her red dress instead, or the green one? 

Better stick with the blue, she decides each time. 

She glances at the little bottle on her vanity, holding a single pink rose, thorns thoughtfully stripped. A pretty silver ribbon makes a bow on the rose's stem, and the letter lays open beneath it, seal broken. 

Blue's coming today, and that's all Erune can think about. It won't be their first… well… date… but Erune gets butterflies every time. She still can't believe that Blue likes her enough to actually court her. She's just some random apprentice weaver, while Blue is a knight, strong and dependable and kind, and a Hero of Hyrule, to boot. She must offer something, though, because Blue keeps coming back. 

A knock at the door below makes Erune jump, but she quickly picks up the small bunch of flowers she'd gathered, tied with a patterned cord she wove herself, and flies down the stairs. She answers the door a bit out of breath but grinning, and there's Blue, standing on her porch, with that constant but strange mixed aura of perfect confidence and awful awkwardness. 

"This is for you," Erune says, handing out the tiny bouquet, and there's that scarred smile that makes her heart pound.

🌹Most recent line from a WiP

The rats were excited to be playing spy and were quite pleased at how easy the infiltration part of things went. Namely, Hartley brought them in his backpack that he had taken to toting his laptop around in.

From The Pied Piper of Central City. The rats are eager to help protect the city with Hartley. Central City is their nest too, after all. :D

✂️Cut Plot Lines

From the same fic, I've decided to streamline it some from the initial plot ideas I posted about. Initially I'd intended for Hartley to sort of have a break in the middle from dealing with EoWells in order to go after a crook of some kind that he heard about in the news, establishing himself as the Pied Piper in that manner... but I realized as I was writing it'd derail the main plot way too much to do it that way. So I'm leaving that out. Instead the rats will be helping out by snooping on Harrison for Hartley, gaining him some important inside info for the final confrontation with EoWells.

And, of course, the ending will establish Hartley taking on the moniker of the Pied Piper, so while it's a cut plot, the important parts of it won't be totally lost. And that means the name of the fic still works since it's still Hartley's origin story as the Pied Piper.
