i meant to answer this earlier but passed the fuck out . thank u for waiting so patiently old men facts under cut

roe and murr are obviously intented to sort of mirror each other in a number of ways, one of these ways is the fact that roe tends to act a lot older than he is whereas murr tends to act a lot younger. roe behaves like hes some crank ass retired war veteran in his 80s while murr acts more like someone in their 20s would

another way they mirror each other is the fact that murr tends to wear his heart on his sleeve while roe is very caged up about his emotions. they both believe life is short, but while roe focuses on despairing over what he considers 'wasting' it, murr tries to spend most of it doing things he believes to be worth while, which unfortunately for him happens to be throwing his heart around pretty recklessly, something roe used to do before he concluded that it was stupid to do so

roe loves classical music and often has to play piano music to help him sleep at night or he'll struggle with falling asleep. the only time he doesnt need it is when hes dead tired and passes out 2 seconds after laying down

murr sleeps with a lot of pillows, which obviously includes bodypillows. he likes ones with soft/fluffy textures because who doesnt but as long as he can pretend hes holding another person he'll take anything

one of the ways youd probably help murr cope with his whole . Issue. is by helping him get like a pet of some kind. something he can give love to and bond with without the fear/risk of hurting himself or others by it. he probably ends up getting a cat or something

surprisingly, roe likes children and murr doesnt. roe believes theyre some of the only people on this planet who physically cant waste their time, as kids tend to just be figuring out the world around them and living life as much as possible, and if they arent then its usually the fault of some adult in their life, and while he is easy to annoy he has a lot more patience for kids. murr thinks hes too much of a bad influence on children and knows he probably shouldnt be around them because of it, and also he just generally doesnt know how to handle them really

murr has a little bit of a gambling problem because of course he does. its something his brother would poke at him about during the scene where you meet him

roes favorite kinds of birds are song birds, specifically sparrows and starlings. hed probably be a fan of bird watching if he wasnt worried there would be more productive things he could be doing

The pieces I mentioned above (nightmare pieces and fighting pieces and angsty home life ha.. ha.ha.ha.). That Oikawa one where the reader wakes up in bed without him and thinks he left. You write these gorgeous atmospheres and descriptive, visceral feelings, and if you chose to use it for evil…. You could get evil shit done. You’re SO powerful. So I want to read it… but also…. I don’t. I’d love to see you write ABO like you mentioned a while back or just see you explore a cutesy soulmate AU or something. I think you’d be really good at writing an AU where you hear what the other person’s listening too. I feel like you’d be so good at making me feel something for someone who was in another city. (think this would be cute with Tsukki cos he’s headphones boy, OR terushima because I like the dynamic of someone flirty, who clearly cares about looks, falling for someone he can’t see) ANYWAY….

Favorite pairing you write for?/fav reader insert? Tsukishima x reader. It’s my fav self-ship. (but also Mattsun, Bokuto, Oikawa, Tanaka, and Akaashi because you write them SO WELL!!!!)

Have any of your stories helped me through a hard time? Of course. Your self-harm piece came at a time I needed it. Iwaizumi’s in particular saved my life. But also your Tendou dealing with S/O parents who fight… came right when I needed it. Also starting college… was hard.. And reading and rereading your fluff really pulled me through it.

Do I genuinely like your blog, it’s aesthetic or posts? It’s overall feel? It’s content? Yes. The aesthetic is, ngl, a wee bit basic. But I kinda love that. And the feel? It feels like home. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Your blog is my safe space. So, yes, I love. It’s content? YES. OF COURSE. Your personality probably could have kept me here even if your content was kinda shit, but I follow you RELIGIOUSLY because of your content. So yes. I adore.

Is English my first language? Kinda??? I grew up in a trilingual household so I kinda learned three languages at the same time while growing up. But no, I don’t need to translate it in my head. Because English was one of the three.

congrats on the milestone🥺🥺 u rly deserve it im always rereading ur work!! it is constantly on my mind. so..... idk if ur still doing ships but i did NOT want 2 miss out on the opportunity so here i am? if im too late please do not feel pressured 2 reply but if theyre still open , can it please be for a pedro character? i am very sunshine-y, all i ever intend 2 come across as is appreciative, soft and compassionate. im a v small person, but i do a lot of sports esp baseball and dance, so im surprisingly strong and flexible for what u would expect if that makes sense? im vv easy 2 please and i get excited very often, my favourite things 2 do are probably just . okay im p sure this sounds stupid but communicate??? i could talk for HOURS(i speak spanish and english), or i also like 2 do stupid dances 2 headphone music or make things. i love love love 2 create things for ppl, i cook basically every day and bake several times a week which results in a constantly full fridge of meals and snacks - i have some cookies, brownies, magdalenas and croissants that im gonna try 2 share out in the next week. i also like making clothes, im a fashion student which has made me resilient and patient 2 the point of delusion , sometimes i know i rly should just give some things up but im too stubborn when it comes 2 what i think i should be capable of. mostly though my heart is just so full of love and i want somebody 2 give it 2!!!!!! thank u so much for this, and for all ur other works . theyre my treat when im working im like "just gotta finish this just gotta finish this then i can go read" . u are of great comfort and help 2 me🥺🥺

KIM JIWON (BOBBY) X READER Type | Genre: badboy au | fluff/angst Word Count: 1663 A/N: I thought this was much longer than 1.6k words... Guess not. Also I do update very very slow, I know. It’s mostly because I have no idea what to write next, and I don’t want to write nonsense. So thank you for your patience. I hope this doesn’t disappoint! To be honest, it feels a little weird to write about Hanbin after the huge scandal, but it felt weirder leaving him out of the story after including him in the beginning.

Also wtf happened to line breaks? Why is that not an option anymore? This sucks.

Jiwon looked at the well healed scar on his arm fondly, running his finger along the raised ridge. His smile couldn’t help but widen as his phone buzzed.

[23:22] y/n: i can’t sleep [23:22] jiwon: y? [23:22] jiwon: cause ur too excited to be talking to me? [23:23] y/n: ... zzz ... [23:23] y/n: o look i fell asleep

He chuckled. Within a matter of days, teasing had already become part of their regular banter. So cute.

Even though he knew was joking, his fingers still quickly scrambled to reply.

His finger hovered over the keyboard, wondering if he should type out the next line. He knew it was probably a bad idea, but he couldn’t help himself. Fuck it. He firmly pressed the upward arrow.

You felt bold as you sent that last message. Was this considered flirting? You hadn’t known that your heart rate could increase so much within a mere 4 minutes. The past few nights had consisted of increasingly witty and teasing messages - messages that got your heart racing, your face flushing, and your imagination going a little crazy. Nothing even close to romantic had happened between you and him, and yet your ridiculous mind was coming up with possible scenarios that could maybe (just maaaybe) happen in the nearby future. You felt like an silly high schooler again, getting too easily excited over someone you barely knew. You didn’t even know how exactly how old he was or what he did for living.

But all those unanswered questions just made you more excited - kind of like a good mystery book you just didn’t want to put down.

[23:27]: jiwon: ok so whens ur next day off

Your breath hitched. You were off the upcoming Thursday, which was in 2 days. You hadn’t expected the next time you were going to see Jiwon to come so soon. You were used to seeing him like twice a month. You knew you could simply lie and give him your next day off, which was in a week or so, but you knew you didn’t want to wait that long.

[23:28] y/n: thursday [23:28] jiwon: ok cool so ill see u then [23:28] jiwon: and if ur busy... [23:28] jiwon: make yourself unbusy thanks

Your lips curled into a smile. How could someone this cute possibly be bad news?

“You’re distracted, Hyung.” Donghyuk mumbled quietly so Hanbin wouldn’t hear.

“Hm?” Jiwon murmured. “Nah, I’m good.”

Donghyuk’s eyes narrowed as he carefully tried to peer over Jiwon’s shoulder to see what was keeping him so preoccupied. A girl’s name. He rolled his eyes. He was more than willing to bet that this was the same girl that had so nicely bandaged Jiwon up that rainy night. “Let’s keep outsiders... outsiders, okay, Hyung?” Donghyuk warned in a hushed tone.

Jiwon immediately shut off his phone screen and gave his younger friend a long hard stare. “I’m not fucking stupid, okay?”

And of course, despite Donghyuk’s words, he still went to see her on Thursday. They met up later in the afternoon, mainly because he slept in well into the afternoon. Since he did his work mainly at night, his sleeping schedule tended to be slightly off. When he woke up, you were getting some errands done - groceries and such. That gave him some time to get dressed and ready - he wanted to look good for the first date. This is a date right? He hadn’t made it explicitly clear, but he was hoping you were on the same page as he was.

He recalled the the other day that you had said you wanted to try this restaurant that you had seen on some celebrities eating on TV. And since it was on the other side of Seoul Station, they could walk along Seoullo 7017 along the way. He supposed that would be a good, somewhat nice way to start the date.

And you were delightfully surprised at how much Jiwon had actually planned out. You wouldn’t say it aloud, but you had been expecting somewhat of a haphazard schedule of activities that randomly popped up into his mind.

“You look cute.” You jokingly scowled. “Are you saying I wasn’t cute before?” He rolled his eyes and laughed. “That’s exactly what I’m saying.” He put his hands up defensively when he earned a playful punch to the arm. “Hey, you gotta appreciate my honesty, right?” He grinned. “No, but seriously. You should wear dresses more often.”

“Thanks,” you mumbled shyly, having always been slightly awkward at accepting compliments. You glanced down at your outfit. It was a pretty plain dress, but this was the most dressed up he had ever seen you.

“Where’s the scar from - if you don’t mind me asking?” He asked, pointing to the mark on your forearm. If it hadn’t been for that scar, he probably would have never recognized you. “Nothing cool,” you responded. “Got it while I was helping out at the bakery a while ago. Hot stuff can do that to you sometimes, you know.” He laughed. “See? You’re already getting funnier - thanks to me.” You rolled your eyes exaggeratedly but couldn’t help but join him in laughter.

You were sure he had a fair share of scars all over his body, and also exciting stories behind them. But you were reluctant to ask, afraid that it could ruin the lighthearted mood.

The rest of the evening went by in a blur - partially because Jiwon had convinced you to share a bottle of soju with him during dinner. ‘You can’t enjoy pork belly without soju!’ he had insisted. You had initially refused, being worried that you might end up blabbering and saying something stupid or embarrassing. But Jiwon was one convincing young man.

But luckily the only embarrassing thing that slipped out was a, “Fine, you’re kinda cute, okay?” after he had pestered you about what you thought about him. And boy, did he enjoy that answer.

You were partially disappointed when the date ended with a simple hug. You probably would have thought he were moving too fast if he had gone in for a kiss, but by no means would you have refused. In fact, as much as you hated to admit it, you'd immediately have shut your eyes and puckered your lips. But a long, warm hug was what you got tonight. And you weren’t complaining. "Thanks. Today was really fun,” you said with a warm smile. “Okay, so when can we have fun again?”

All of a sudden, you had something to look forward to every week. Every date with Jiwon was exciting. You got to experience thrilling things like ziplining, but even just sitting at a cafe and chatting got your heart pumping. You felt like your life had been recharged. You had even bravely kissed him on the cheek when he had dropped you off at your door tonight.

As Jiwon walked over to work after dropping you off, he heard a familiar voice calling his name. “Jiwon Hyung! Hyung!” Junhoe shouted from down the block. "Where’re you coming from?” He asked, frowning. Wherever Jiwon was coming from, it wasn’t from the direction of his home. Jiwon played it off vaguely. “Just was doing something. Don’t worry about it.” “Come on, tell me!” Junhoe whined. “Why’s it a secret, huh?” Jiwon pressed his fingers against his tall friend’s forehead and gave it a good shove. “Have you ever heard of a personal space? Look it up.” He couldn’t recall the last time anyone had made him so easily excited, and he wasn’t willing to part with you now.

His friends had also noticed that he was constantly in a good mood these past few weeks. Donghyuk wasn’t too happy about it, but the others seemed to enjoy having a less moody Jiwon around. He wondered if Hanbin knew what Jiwon was getting himself into outside of work. But he didn’t want to tick off Jiwon, so he kept his mouth shut. A pissed off Jiwon was one scary man.

“How long do u plan on keeping this up, Hyung? It’s going to serve as a distraction to you and a danger to her. She doesn’t even know what you really do. If you tell her, do you think she’ll stay?” Donghyuk hissed. “Yeah, right.” “I know. I know.” Jiwon mumbled. This was like the fifth time he had approached him about this issue. He was thankful that Donghyuk hadn’t blabbed to the rest of the guys, but it was a disturbing reminder every time. Why was it so wrong to enjoy it while it lasted?

ok so two of my Main Ones are era and takuma!!!!!!!! ft. some changed designs bc im considering revamping laylaylb bc it Kinda Sucks.

so era is the shark one!!!!! her quirk is minor shark and its a mutant quirk that gives her vague mutations from a whitetip reef shark!!! that includes (but is not limited to) double rows of teeth, gils, some fins, enhanced smell and like, you know that thing that sharks do where they can find things from like,, those feely things from their chins?? yeah era can do that. she also tends to be more wild at night?? but it can be passed off as loopiness. since shes from a nextgen au shes the adopted daughter of kiri and baku???? her full name is bakushima era and she is like,,, just Rowdy and Easily Excited.

takuma is a more obvious nextgen kid and hes a tododeku fankid?? THOUGH in the revamp im gonna make him a todoiideku fankid with siblings bc ive always had concept for siblings for him but i was a Coward and never went through with them. his quirk is temperature control and its an emitter quirk that, when he touches something, he can adjust the temperature of an object. whenever he raises the temperature in something, the temperature of his body lowers, and vise versa. that often leads him to being cold constantly and having to bundle up his body in like a thousand jackets. its Very Relatable to me tbh. anxiety is hereditary so hes very anxious and withdrawn. he tends to be very scatterbrained and more often then not he forgets words mid-sentence and needs eras help to remember them. that leads him to repeat things a lot and quit a lot of things midway because he cant describe them. thats Also Very Relatable. his full name is midoriya takuma although in the revamp, its most likely that his name will be changed to iida-midoriya takuma

another important character to the nextgen who isnt actually a nextgen kid is siryoku karashiro (despite me often using first names as a way to refer to characters, i called him by his family name (siryoku) so frequently in laylaylb that thats just how i refer to him at this point) and hes really fun to draw. so hes kinda hard to explain without giving a lot about his backstory and eventual character arc away?? but hes from a rich family of lawyers who all have quirks that allow them to intimidate people by meeting their eyes. however, due to a recessive quirk from his moms side, he ended up having an variant of the black hole quirk. unlike thirteen, who (presumably) can channel theirs through their fingers, his is through his eyes. without a lot of practice with his quirk, he cant really control it and it often ends up being an all or nothing sort of trump card. siryokus very socially awkward and often has a hard time keeping up with extroverted people like ame and era. he also tends to miss expressions and figures of speech. but other than that, hes very earnest and despite his fumbles, wants to help others

while takuma era and siryoku are the Main Trio, takuma and era are also in another trio alongside ame, full name uraraka ame. shes a tsuchako fankid who really likes wearing christmas sweaters in the middle of summer. a part of this generations “big 3″ ame is a third year and an intern under thirteen. her quirk is zero gravity, inherited directly from ochako. shes very caring, and the “big sister” of the group if you will. she tries to help people as much as she can, and is the role model of both era and takuma. she is very energetic though, but she misses a lot of social cues and can as such be seen as pushy or overbearing.

while she hasnt appeared a lot yet in either my comics or in laylaylb, another character who will end up being important is kyousou hansha!!!! she will be (eventually) the vice president of their class and has been shown to be very driven, determined, and almost judgemental. she hasnt come with the intention of befriending people who dont come up to her standards, though what exactly those standards are is currently unknown. (i know it though) all thats currently known is that she often knows how to take charge of a situation with a very analytical point of view, and that perhaps thats what helped her land a recommended spot into ua. (who recommended her and what her quirk is hasnt been officially shown, though if you look through my blog, im p sure i mentioned it at one point)

this is a very bad drawing, because kazankawa (full name kazankawa atsui) is one of my favorite characters to draw (without coloring because her details is hard for me to color) and has one of my favorite character designs out of my bnha ocs. her quirk is volcano, and its a mutant quirk that almost makes herself like a living volcano. however, she cant ‘erupt’. her skin literally has cracks around where it folds the most, so think at the joints of her fingers and in her elbow. it also has cracks below her eyes. the cracks are filled with lava, though it is purely stationary. she gives off heat and can produce smoke from her mouth (though she doesnt know it yet). she is also able to throw up lava, but thats just kinda gross. she comes across as level-headed, chill, and sleepy almost all the time. however, once she gets riled up or in the battle field, she becomes more wild and reckless.

some other characters and wow isnt this a great drawing, is the houkai squad. i dont have an official name for their group, but they have a really fun dynamic to write. houkai genki (the middle one in the screenshot) is the one that this entire group revolves around, because they are the one who taigun and kuroiya are around for. they have an emitter quirk called emp, which is. an emp. yeah. its,, self explanatory. some people think theyre slick, but really, theyre kinda just really stupid and has no self restraint.

taigun kisaki (the leftmost) is literally the groups voice of reason and impulse control. her quirk is literally the most terrifying quirk ive ever come up with and its an emitter quirk that lets her control the bees. fuck you vigilantes i made it up before i knew you made a character with a similar quirk. shes by all means an extrovert, but has very thin patience and is constantly done by the shenanigans of this god forsaken group.

kuroiya fumukoi was actually the third bnha oc i designed, and was originally supposed to be a very withdrawn softspoken character. but as i wrote laylaylb, she was changed to an enabler of houkais, with just vaguely more intelligence than houkai, but instead of doing things out of sheer stupidity, more out of just ballsy-ness. her quirk is called shadow step and allows her to travel through shadows. it often leaves her hungry, so a lot of times she can be caught munching on something.

some other characters are the rest of the big 3!!! i love them a lot. like,, listen i would die for them. besides ame, theres suiro takara, the one on the right, and her quirk is crystal channel?? shes an intern under aoyama and can channel her own energy into crystals on her body (which is why she wears so many necklaces) in the form of lasers. shes constantly tired and stressed and honestly really offput by ame. ames excited and loud personality is a bit too much for her, so she tends to lash out or act cold. then theres yasuyou natsuki, the middle, whos quirk is flame body. her bodys literally a fire. as a result, all of the the third years had to be made extra fire durable outfits and gym uniforms to withstand being worn or coming into contact with her. ame has a crush on her, though yasuyou isnt aware of it. yasuyou is dense but upbeat, not interacting with ame a lot because theyre in different classes. (ame is in 3-a while yasuyou is in 3-b). also, ame, idk about u, but idk how ur gonna smooch fire.

of course there is A Lot of other characters from laylaylb that i wont write bc i dont have the screenshots or drawings on hand or bc they havent been revealed or i dont have the energy to explain all about the background characters

BUT

i DO have a non-laylaylb bnha oc and i dont have a name or set design for her yet but ive been stewing over the idea of her quirk for the LONGEST time

so basically shes a support student whos quirk is balance. its an emitter/mutant kinda quirk that gives her impeccable balance and things that she touches the same balance as well. it comes in handy when walking/maneuvering with things in her hands, and allows her to stack things without the fear of them fall over. think about that one sasuke figurine that could balance anything on its head and think ‘what if that was a quirk’

she isnt keen on sharing her ideas with others, though when she does, its often for critique. she has an odd sense for knowing when people lie to her about their opinions, and prefers brutal truth. perhaps its because thats how she is-- overly blunt and bad at determining which things are and arent right to tell to someones face.

aw thank u sm !! its always nice to hear ppl appreciate the thought process/cohesiveness, since thats prob one of the things i pride myself on most :’)

for gifs; frankly, i cant really say i put that much thought into gifs..the color palette + lyric ones take the longest to make, and for that my advice there would be cropping faces can go a long way to make something look cool lol. saving ur gifs at the highest possible quality is also a must ! as for coloring, it’s really up to u + what fits your personal style. but whitewashing is ugly so dont do it sdfjgknlfg

for gfx; i guess my biggest tip would just be to try new things? like, dick around in photoshop and see what comes out of it. experience is the best teacher, and personally that’s how i learned, by just messing around and following tutorials until i found my own style. patience and persistence are also important, ive been using ps since i was 13 and im 20 now. it took me 3 years to learn how to make gifs soooo yeah needless to say, patience is key !

as for my own gfx style, a lot of it is inspired by UI/UX design, so just looking at things on dribbble really gives me good ideas! and i always credit where i get it from, so if ur curious where i got my insp on x graphic, u can always find it in the captions of my gfx 😉 also weirdly enough, the office bloopers give me a lot of design inspiration?? i guess i can only make stuff when im laughing asfhjksdflg

as for resources, the only sites i actively use are resource market and noun project. im not a huge fan of textures–theyre just not really my style, since like i said, i get my insp from UI/UX design–which has more emphasis on gradients and shapes rather than textures. so, luckily im not too dependent on resources bc of that, typically most of the final product was made from scratch !

also i feel like this goes without saying, but i feel obligated to put it in here since a lot of people (with no ill will) rly just dont know the difference…, but yeaaaa it’s important to know the difference between inspiration vs copying. in the kpop fandom i see too many posts that take “insp” from others, and they dont necessarily ask or even give a heads up to the op who they’re copying. like i said, a lot of ppl just genuinely dont know, and dont have any bad intentions, but it’s still not ok. a good rule of thumb is to take only one element from someone’s work + tweak it to fit your own style. or just ask the op u wanna take insp from !!!!!

i mean, this was the first edit i ever posted to the kpop community, and there was a lot of improvement to be done..it hurts to look at…..so if i can do it any1 can ! best wishes 💖

...also, how /is/ he doing this? the way Perceive works isn’t just “i can sense that you’re uncomfortable”, it’s that people who can use it have extremely good eye-sight and see tiny little movements in other people. If they’re smart about it, they can tell that the movements mean the enemy is lying. Apollo just happens to get tense when he notices this, most likely because he’s kind of straining his eyes.

But then again that brings up the fact that his power would act up CONSTANTLY, either because EVERYBODY FIDGETS, or Apollo himself could just be stressed and making the bracelet squeeze on its own.

So thanks, SOJ. Not content with ruining Apollo’s canon, you’ve also got to ruin his cool lawyer power. Gosh, you’re just the gift that keeps on giving, aren’t you?

SO UM WELL I’m not rly the most resource-having(???) person on this topic because in my educations system we had sewing in basic education (we even used to get cute little “sewing macine licenses” to prove we Knew What We Were Doing) & I got a sewing machine of my own for my birthday a few years later

After basics I also majored in design and textile for a year--so I was basically in school sewing nonstop xD So my training arc was basically “go to school” WHICH....ISNT VERY HELPFUL ADVICE IN THIS CONTEXT

but with that fault in mind i can try to throw down some tips! and LINKSS which you can just scroll past all my rambling to see bc theyre GOOD HELPFUL LINKS

hm...hand sewing is easier to pick up because sewing machines can be more tricky to get ur paws on, but it’s more time consuming and probably won’t fully satisfy your hunger for sewing. my first tip is to get find some way to borrow a sewing machine for a bit. Hand stitching SOUNDS very cozy (i mean, picture it!), but it won’t really get you that far, unless you either have amazing patience or are naturally really into that specific kind of work (in which case more power to you!)

Of course, even if you have a sewing machine, a lot of projects still require a bit of handstitching--so it doesn’t hurt to learn some regardless!

machine sewing is faster, but can be scarier because you won’t feel as in control of it at first and everything will be SO FAST and AAAA and WHAT IF U GET HURT but once you’re used to it it’s way easy (i promise).

Ur first job is RECON

bc you wanna get ur hands on a MACHINE and u dont wanna have to BUY ONE if u dont already KNOW that u LIKE IT.

Some fabric stores will occasionally have classes where you can come and borrow one of their machines and learn how to use it (sometimes this is in context of trying to sell you the machine in question, but hey, its still a learning opportunity). Sewing machines can be expensive, but they dont have to be--a really basic machine for beginners dosn’t have to cost the world, but it still costs more than a basic class where you borrow one and see if you like it before shelling out the big bucks. :p

These places also sometimes let you rent sewing machines--it’s not guaranteed, but asking about classes and rentals can’t hurt, right

Or maybe a friend has one they don’t use. Maybe a friend has one they do use and you can borrow it anyway while they watch u with jealousy. Maybe ur weird aunt has one from the 50s in the back of a closet somewhere. whatever

The second job is FOLLOW UP WHATEVER U FOUND AND SEE IF U LIKE SEWING and congrats you got into sewing (confetti)

soooo all that stuff aside here’s some less generic hot tips. you can skip this whole section if you want to and just go peruse the links below

Some machines and tutorial sites have, like, 483843 different stitches. You only really NEED a couple of them--basic straight stitch will get you very far by itself xD Don’t get overwhelmed!

Speaking of overwhelmed, when talking about sewing machines, all different brands and makes look slightly different and may have additional features. However, at their basics, they’re all remarkably similar--basically, once you’ve read one guide on how to use a machine, you’ve read em all. Adjusting to a different machine than usual is quick, so even if you don’t have one of your own, borrowing any machine should work--even if it’s one you haven’t used before.

Unless you suddenly get to use one of those fancy ones with a fonts and shit. But that’s not really relevant here either xD

An iron and ironing board is, without exaggerating (much), the Key To Beauty(TM). Most of the time, when you’ve done a seam, it’ll pucker and be weird on the outside (the side that matters!). The difference between nasty and sweet is in ironing--or, more accurately, “pressing” the seams! So make sure you have an iron and ironing board nearby, for those Beautifications......

(Make sure you know how your fabric responds to being ironed, though. For example, certain synthetics may melt unless given specific care, so be careful there :p)

When you buy fabric, there will be a label somewhere that describes exactly what materials it’s made of, washing instructions, and ironing instructions! :D

Plain cotton weaves are a good place to begin, because they can take a hell of a beating in both temperature and water

Start with something “flat”--I mean like a 2D felt thing, or a simple piece of clothing, a pillow case, i dont know--anything that lies flat. I know sewing cute plushies and fun stuff (and even though i WILL include a link to one of my favorite beginner-friendly plushie patterns blog) is like, The Dream, but constructing a 3D shape can be super tricky--so focus on the basics of sewing itself first and make “flat stuff” until you’re more confident

Obviously an exception to the above is if you’re just naturally good at “unfolding” 3D shapes in your mind and putting them together--some people are better at this from the get-go than others!
