So i watched "The Magician's Elephant."

..I have to say, it really made me happy! It was good, a bit cheesy sometimes, but good. I love the narrator and her dialogue, the story was very nice and made me squeal like a dying pig more than a few times. Not the best, but it was really something.

This is somehow the best and worst movie I've ever seen

Nothing makes sense. It's magic.

I didn't know what I wanted to watch when I opened Netflix, but I ended up watching this because the trailer piqued my interest. It had me all sorts of emotional, that's me, though. However, if you love found family, orphan searching for their blood family, one event causing a domino effect of events, finding hope again, tragic backstory, accomplishing the impossible, believing in magic again, showing compassion, and selfless acts, I think you may love this movie. To me, it was totally worth the watch. I love it!

All right, adding The Magician's Elephant to both my regular and my Little Space movie list.

The absolute wonderous, amazing happiness I find myself having and watching this movie with is so incredible. It's cute. It's funny. It's heart bursting and jerking. The animation is exceptional.

11/10 do Recommend.

My thoughts on “Magicians Elephant”...

I watched this Netflix movie called “The Magician’s Elephant” yesterday with my kid. It was okay, definitely decent, but man... Kid you cheated your ass off. XD

First of all in NO way shape or form did you defeat that soldier literally IN NO SENSE OF THE WORD when you had the GALL to say to that dude’s face that you defeated him I almost wanted him to stab you right there just for being cocky and obviously wrong. The soldier conceded, he was NOT defeated. (And also just saying it kinda made like it was more about his book than anything and like okay I get that part/reminded him of his own childhood n all that but maybe add just a touch of “Oh crap I’m fighting a kid here what have I become, I gotta amend my ways and change my life” to it, make it clearer that the kid “won” by emotionally disarming him and making him change his mind bc that wasn’t totally apparent he just seemed rly obsessed with the book... XD?)

Second of all, kid did NOT fly. He fell with style, lmao. And that so-called death trap of a parachute shouldn’t have even managed that. I actually felt the need to tell my child, “Don’t ever try to do something like that. It will NOT work, you will just die.” And no I did NOT try and fail something similar as a kid attempting to recreate the Mary Poppin’s Umbrella thing from a thankfully much shorter height, thank you very much... 

Third of all, okay this one gets more of a pass but teeeeechnically the elephant made that lady laugh not the kid but eh yanno what that’s not that part I got issue with in this scene it’s how the Fiery Haired Sorceress steps in NO I’m totally cool with her giving him the help I don’t care if it’s cheating after the king makes it clear he disregards his life, I just think her just admitting that she’s helping him is a lil uncool for a Fiery Haired Sorceress. I think she shoulda said something cooler like, “Now never let it be said I don’t give my customers their coin’s worth~” Since the kid did accuse her of cheating him earlier.

Anyways other than that it only suffers from them trying to make the kids look cute and just making them look weird instead. XD
