Irony free, my favourite character introduction in recent memory is of the bandit Vasquez in "The Magnificent Seven" remake: Sitting in wait near a dark cabin, with a pair of corpses he made, he lassos the first person to come in (showing how alert he was and he'd already seen them coming) and has the upper hand, then we get that fabulous, ice cold Denzel performance where he tells him that if he carries a gun that means he intends to use it, so Vasquez doesn't shoot him, he's willing to talk to the guy. He's a bit horny and rapey towards our heroine Emma Cullen, in the lasso, but willing to talk, willing to listen, and you don't quite know if he's lying or not when he says that the Texas Ranger he shot "Had it coming". It makes you wonder if he killed these guys in the cabin, or if they too had it coming, and we get my absolute favourite exchange: Vasquez: "And after our business is done, what then?" Chisolm: "There'll still be a lot of men after you." Vasquez: "A comforting thought." Chisolm: "It is: I won't be one of them."
What a baller exchange. It's so good I paraphrased it for my own terrible screenplay.
Just a sleazy bandit with a heart of brass, who over the course of the film just is himself. I liked that he lived, it was a nice twist.

Fandom: The Magnificent Seven (2016) Rating: G Pairing: Goodnight Robicheaux/Billy Rocks Other tags: Snowball Fight, Pre-Relationship, Bonding Summary: He's got less of a handle on what kind of man Goody is now, save that he's nothing like anyone Billy has met before, nothing like he'd have expected, and that's enough to keep him standing in snow up to his calves, watching and wondering.
Goody’s still got that soft smile on his lips, and Billy rolls his eyes, wiggling his slowly numbing toes in his boots. “Only you could get sentimental over something that could kill us.”
[Billy and Goodnight- snow, a tentative partnership, and a dispute of sorts.]

The magnificent seven (2016) should of been a trilogy of films me thinks. For totally important story reasons and not just me wanting to be indulged on my need to see more of the groups dynamics and character development, until the last film where some of them then die. Thanks for coming to my ted talk

Based off a scene from the 2016 remake of The Magnificent Seven.
Original scene under the cut:

Fun fact about Red Harvest (the character that Poo takes place of in this comic):
Red pretends that he doesn't speak English for like a third of the film and when he does, it's just so casual. One of the guys is like, "The HELL?! You speak English?!" Red says, "Some". And then the other guy goes like "Get over in here! We gotta talk!" xD
I just thought, if it weren't for Poo pledging his loyalty (in English) to Ness first thing, he could have done something like this, and it would be a fun portrayal of his character.

Please tell me about M7: Mr Sunshine? And, if I can have two, Respectability?
"Mr. Sunshine" was an AU based on, predictably, the Mr. Sunshine miniseries from Netflix, starring Lee Byung-Hun. The premise was that a chance meeting between Eugene, Goody, and Billy after Eugene got to the US made Billy suspect that Eugene is the son of his half-sister, who'd been sent away as a slave when he was little. So Eugene spent his upbringing in the American West before joining the army and returning to Korea as opposed the east coast.
Billy Rocks loves New York. He’ll never tell Goodnight, of course; he expects his adoration for the city isn’t half as strong as Goodnight’s loathing for it. In fairness, Billy shares some of his distaste for the noise and crowds. But the permanence of the place settles him. It looks like a proper city, a place meant to endure, and a welcome contrast to their lives out West, where towns spring up in a season and die off almost as quickly.
"Respectability" is an Everybody Lives AU in the same timeline as "Impossible." It follows Billy and Goody becoming the proprietors of The Elysium after Gavin's death. 😁
“I need Billy for deputy…” Faraday notes the hard-edged glare he’s getting from both men and quickly amends, addressing himself to Billy instead. “Look, I need you, Rocks. Teddy’s willing, but intimidation is well outside his realm of talent.”
“No chance.” Billy tests the nail, then hangs the larger of the two landscapes to cover stains that were once the blood and brains of Bogue’s hired men.
“Well, there you have it, Joshua.” Goodnight goes back to the ledgers. “We’re aiming to be respectable business owners. We can’t be seen brawling with drunkards in the streets.”
“You’re getting ready to reopen the town whorehouse! How in the hell is that less respectable than being my deputy?”
