Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wasn’t able to get them all in one shot, but here’s the Easter Eggs from the newest AT4W! Let’s see what we can deduce:
“Moloch’s Doomsayer continues its approach.”
So I had to dig for this, but in the Brute Force #4 review, part of the Ghost of the Machine arc, Nimue mentions Moloch during one of her ramblings. Some theorize this might be another member of the Technumina, but I think while it’s likely related to Moloch, I think it’s talking about this thing:
Tumblr media
Which I also still say is related to:
Tumblr media
Anyway, I think it’s this because Linkara did say this thing had noticed them, and it’s coming for the Reviewerverse (do we even still use that term?)
“She has waited for four years.”
This I’m a little unclear on. Four years ago was 2018, which was the tenth anniversary of the show and the Clone Saga. The only “she” directly involved in that storyline was Erin, but what could she be waiting for? To make up with Linkara and the team? There’s also Eliza and Margaret, but while Eliza did take center stage Christmas 2018, that story felt complete and not like there was something she’d be waiting for. Margaret might be a possibility given the next line:
“Curses can only be halted by their executors.”
Aside from briefly appearing at the end of Sleepwalker, Margaret hasn’t appeared much in the show in recent years, so it can be easy to forget that her origin as part of the magic gun was as a cult sacrifice. It could be interpreted that what binds Margaret to the gun is a curse, so maybe this is foreshadowing her spirit being freed?
“This iteration will be successful.”
Again, unclear on this, but the language is very……..scientific. It sounds like something those entities from the Halloween 2019 storyline, the ones possibly warping reality around Linkara in a way that, come to think of it, is VERY reminiscent of the reality warping from the Warrior reviews waaaaaaaaaaaay back when. Could this be talking about their experiments? Are they doing something with the multiverse itself?

A King of Worms sits on a throne of sorrow A King of Worms eats up a man’s tomorrow With a platinum mask your soul he’ll borrow And a clockwork solider is born and hollow
The King of Worms wears a crown of terror In the Court of Worms there is none fairer We are all equal beneath the surface layer Our souls are screaming and begging in prayer
The King of Worms saw fear, it is said The King of worms thought fear should be fed The King of Worms takes your soul to shred In the court of Worms, we are all dead
Thoughts under the ‘keep reading.’
‘The Machinations of Worms’ storyline brings us back to Lovecraftian horror with the Entity younger cousin. The King of Worms is terrifying, which of course was the point. He does a great job of embodying fear. If Lewis ever stops reviewing comics, he can always start writing horror stories.
I’m using the King of Worms poem as the opening quote. I know that each verse was revealed to us separately and it was never performed as a complete poem during the storyline itself. However, I could say the same thing about the Enitiy poem and the fandom still treats it as one poem. I’m not sure why the King of Worms poem didn’t get the same treatment. I think I might be the first fan to but the verses together. No regrets!
‘The Machinations of Worms’ storyline expands upon the mythology and lore of the reviewerverse. I love the idea of a pantheon of Outer Gods all based on technology in some way. It offers so many story possibilities. The two members of the Technumina we’ve met so far, MissingNo and the King of Worms, have been great, scary creatures. I look forward to learning more about the Technumina in future storylines.
One thing that this compilation doesn’t show, which helped to build the tension, was how the shelves behind the futon slowly filled with more and more cybermats. At the time, it felt like each episode they had multiplied.
I really, really love Linksano. I maintain that he’s slowly becoming a technomancer (someone who uses both technology and science) through his study of magic and the way he integrates magic into his creations and inventions.
Linksano was just so pleased with himself and excited to show Linkara when he brought Eliza, the toy foam lizard, to life. Truly, he deserves the title of Mad Scientist. However, he should probably get around to reading Frankenstein at some point. Mary Shelley wrote a very good book about why people shouldn’t do this sort of thing. Luckily for the comicrew, unlike Victor Frankenstein, Linksano isn’t a brooding mad scientist who’s horrified of his own creation and Eliza isn’t a misunderstood lonely monster who hates her own creator.
Speaking of Eliza; she’s great! She has a wonderful sardonic reaction to being brought to life. That’s probably why I headcanon her and Pollo get on together really well. She spent a year working things out and then came to the rescue everyone and drink coffee. Go Eliza!
It’s nice to see the Ninja Style Dancer playing a part in the storyline again. I understand why he isn’t used as much but it’s good to know he’s still an active member of the comicrew. Can we please have some sort of explanation of how his smoke bomb, disappearing act works? Is it magic? Is it science? Is it a ninja secret? I want to know! He somehow escaped a possessed cybermat, while he was onboard Comicron One using a smoke bomb. How!?
The battle against MirrorKara is fun to watch and I like the different but similar origin of his magic gun.
‘The Machinations of Worms’ storyline continues to hint that, ever since he came back from the future, 90’s Kid (now 90’s Dude) has been up to something the others don’t know about. It’s confirmed at the end that he’s working with Lord Vyce. I was always sure he had a good reason for his actions and this never shook my faith in him.
I was so happy when Vyce treated 90’s Kid with respect and actually listened to what he had to say. 90’s Kid often gets treated as the idiot but the truth is he’s a lot cleverer than people give hind credit for. He’s also been through a lot and should never be underestimated.
Seeing the characters turn up again after they’d been knocked out by the cybermats was creepy. Especially because they continued to act mostly normal. At the time, we didn’t know if they been replaced or were being controlled.
Allen doesn’t get nearly enough credit. He’d a genus and could crack a code in seconds that Linkara and Pollo hadn’t been able to crack in years. I love the fact that the government has protocols to deal with someone who works for them being replaced by an android.
Pollo and his multitude of bodies which can share his consciousness are just great. He is legion.
“It’s really weird seeing you all talk like that.”
“We are a group of robots sharing a single consciousness, fighting alongside robotic silver fish and a foam lizard brought to life using science. Normal is relative.”
I remember how, when ‘The Machinations of Worms’ storyline was first coming out a lot of people, myself included, were a little disappointed that we could see the reviewing room reflected in the masks. We thought it was a failed effect but then it turned out that even that was a part of the storyline and the masks were reflecting what was in Linkara soul. Lewis thinks of everything and he still manages to surprise me. Linkara’s soul is really, really, really darn creepy when we get a look at it.
I like Linkara in this storyline. He’s not turning evil in it and comes up with a lot of good plans and continuance plans to try and deal with what’s happening. It’s a shame they don’t work but that isn’t really his fault. I also like the fact that he still plans to exile Lord Vyce if possible rather than killing him.
Poor Linksano at the end. It takes a lot to shake him. Most of the time, he’s the one causing the craziest things that happen. However, he really didn’t know how to react to the knowledge that nothing they’d done had hurt the King of Worms. I’d be scared too, if I realized that a God that embodied fear had somehow been frightened to death.
“You do realise that people are going to write fanfics about this.”
“The hell do I care? I anit gonna be around to read ’em.”
After ‘The Machinations of Worms’ storyline we get the lovely and short storyline ‘Here and Back Again.’
I’m glad Jaeris finally reunited with his wife, got a way to go home and live there. He deserves to be happy.
The little bit of Joanna we got to see was good. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of her at some point.

Okay, but consider this crossover headcanon nobody asked for: Antisepticeye is one of the Technumina. Not one of the Outer Gods, and not as old or as powerful as The Entity or the King of Worms, but a new member of the pantheon. Think about it.
Jack is a person with a strong sense of self, who puts a great deal of time and energy and care into creating content and maintaining an internet presence. That right there is a powerful force. In a reality where technology-based supernatural forces exist, this would be the perfect opportunity for one to manifest itself.
After all, Antisepticeye is the Glitch. He’s the sinister distortion of Jack’s persona and personality. And as the community feeds information back into him (with theories, fanart, fanfiction, etc.) it only strengthens him. It can alter him slightly, too, which would explain the fluctuations in his voice and inconsistencies in his appearance (sharp teeth, black sclera, and so forth.)

Link
Vyce explains that the Entity has been dormant within Linkara since its apparent death, but that the King of Worms woke it two years ago when he attempted to read Linkara’s soul. Harvey realizes that the coded message from the future was all referring to the Entity.
Pollo asks why 90s Kid hasn’t simply told Linkara what’s going on, but 90s Kid says that the people he visited in the future would only give him snippets of information, for fear of changing the timeline, and wouldn’t allow him to tell Linkara the whole truth. He further explains that the message was “insurance”, and Linksano realizes that the coded message was literally code; a program, the only means of fighting a being of pure information.
90s Kid says that people in the future know a lot about beings like the Entity, the “Technumina”, and have devised ways to counter them. Vyce further explains that the program hidden in the message was intended to protect Linkara’s personality from the Entity, but it also prevents him from having any knowledge of its activities. Although the Entity can take control of him when it chooses, as far as Linkara knows, he’s behaving normally.
After his review, Linkara turns to Erin, but she’s vanished. “Huh,” he muses to himself. “Guess that means I am alone now.”
Vyce, Harvey, Linksano, 90s Kid, and Pollo are intently working on something in their pocket dimension refuge when Erin beams in (having traced 90s Kid’s teleport from last episode) and demands to know what’s going on. She’s quickly folded into the group, and they start bringing her up to speed.
Linksano explains that some attributes of their home dimension are bleeding through into their hiding place--including potent magical energy from Linkara’s storage room. (”Probably because it’s used by that Crow cosplayer who talks about horror comics.”) Their Plan A is to contact Margaret and use her power to separate the Entity from Linkara. Pollo and 90s Kid summon her image, and she appears in human form before them, startled and confused. They start to explain, but Margaret says she was already aware of Linkara’s possession... because she’s possessed by the Entity too, and she demonstrates this with glowing static eyes and a chilling, distorted laugh. Through the image of Margaret, the Entity taunts the team and gloats over its “game”. It takes particular notice of Vyce, and mocks his quest to destroy it, then vanishes in a flash of light, with a promise to return.
Vyce scoffs at the rest of the team and says that Linkara can only be freed by the strength of his own will. First, though, he has to realize that the Entity is there. Together, the team starts to realize that Linkara needs a symbol of something that can inspire his hope, a reminder of his past victories. Vyce says that he knows what to use, and looks out the window, where the moon hangs low in the night sky...

Beneath the seas, besides the flame, Off the coast where the lost beast came, To bring the world misery and shame, A piece of the world is missing.
The path you should have never crossed, The Beast exacts a heavy cost, The number of the Beast is lost, You will know it by its hissing.
The bones from hell you cannot tame, Devour your life and all your fame, That is the price to play its game, And all while you’re reminiscing.
And now for something completely different.
Until the ‘A Piece of the World is Missing’ storyline, Linkara had always been able to defeat the ‘big bad’ of a story arc through fighting. Oh sure, he didn’t always win and sometimes there were phycological attacks to overcome first but in the end, Linkara could always prevail with a little help from his friends.
That all went out of the window with ‘A Piece of the World is Missing.’ Something started making people disappear and Linkara’s list of allies started getting shorter. However, even if Linkara and the whole gang had been there to face the Entity at the end, they still wouldn’t have won because some things can’t be beaten with force no matter how big or magical your gun is. When you are facing an Outer God that has absorbed whole universes and plans to make all of reality a part of itself, you really don’t stand a chance.
I’m glad that this storyline wasn’t fixed through a big silly Power Rangers like fight at the end (though they are enjoyable). It wouldn’t have made sense and would have diminished the threat that the Entity represented.
The Entity knew that Linkara was never a danger. It was happy to let him work that out and feel scared and depressed before excepting his situation because there was no choice. It played with played with Linkara, like a cat with a mouse, except that the mouse sometimes escapes and Linkara would never have stood a chance of even that.
“Welc͠o̕me ͏ba̛c͘k, ẖ͙̖̿ͣͯ͂̍̈́̕u̥̗̳̙̣̖͌ͤͫ͂̊́͝u̺̠͚̱̻͉̗̦ͬͦͭ͋̒̃̐̏ư̹̼̝͔̺͈̱͌͛͗̂̈̏́ư̺͇̗ͧ̔̋͝m̧̖̮̺̗̱͎̭̻̊ͦ̂ͮͩ̊̋͊̕a̬̲̖͕͇ͯ̾̄ͅṅ̀̌̓͛͑͗̊͏̶̺̬͉̙̳͍̥͡. I͢s t͞h͟is̴ ͘ţhe͘ pa̧r͝t w͜heŕe̵ ̧you ̴f̢i͜g͡h̷t̛ m̴e̢?”
“No, no there’s really nothing for me to do. I could shoot you with increasingly larger guns but it wouldn’t work. I could pull some exciting new morpher out of my pants and hope that it would give me the power to defeat you but we both know that that wouldn’t work either.”
“No͝,͜ it̛ ̶wo̵uld n͟o̶t.͟”
‘A Piece of the World is Missing’ was the first introduction to the Technumina. The Technumina is a pantheon of Outer Gods, Lovecraftian monstrosities that are all based in some way on technology with the Entity being a glitch in reality itself.
This is the first storyline which I watched from the beginning as it started coming out. I loved every minute of it. If you’ve never watched the show and you’re watching this video, while you’ll probably enjoy it, you’ll miss half the fun. The fandom had a great time trying to work out what the Entity was and a lot of people succeeded.
Since 90’s Kid (now 90’s Dude) had interrupted episodes plenty of times before (those interruptions haven’t made it into these completions cos they aren’t part of the storyline), at first, we didn’t realise that those new ones were anything out of the ordinary. Later in the storyline, we did start to realise something might be wrong with 90’s Kid but it was a slowly growing list of clues which tipped people off.
This storyline came out when Linkara was on his old website and didn’t have YouTube videos. Linkara used to approve all comments before letting them go through and some fans took advantage of the fact that he had anon comments to pretend to be the Entity in the comments section. I’ll always love the fact that Linkara just went with it. After the storyline had been completed, he admitted that he hadn’t had anything to do with writing those comments but he wished he’d thought of it first.
Who knew that Pokémon could be so terrifying? Apart from anyone who’s actually read some of the more horrifying Pokédex entries that is (looking at you Yamask).

Ideas for other members of the Technumina
The Pokémon glitch known as ♀ . AKA Her or Female Symbol-
Her causes glitches in the game and can freeze it with her music. My idea is that her singing alters reality.
String theory says that partials, space and everything is made little strings that vibrate and make up the universe including things like gravity. If you can change the frequency at which they vibrate, you can change things e.g. turn lead into gold, undo gravity, make humans into mindless automatons ect. There’s no end to the things you could do if you could make the strings vibrate in the right way. Sounds are vibration in the air and Her might be able to make the strings vibrate in different ways by singing.
Δούρειος ίππος (which means ‘trojan horse’ in Greek because even Linksano would call me a nerd)-
They are a gift to humanity. Isn’t Δούρειος ίππος wonderful?
Δούρειος ίππος is wonderful. They provoke wonder. Δούρειος ίππος is marvellous. They cause marvels. Δούρειος ίππος is fantastic. They create fantasies. Δούρειος ίππος is glamorous. They project glamour. Δούρειος ίππος is enchanting. They weave enchantment. Δούρειος ίππος is terrific. They beget terror. The thing about words is that meanings can twist just like a snake, and if you want to find snakes look for them behind words that have changed their meaning. No one ever said Δούρειος ίππος is nice. Δούρειος ίππος is part of the Technumina and our tiny human minds aren’t made to survive the knowledge of Δούρειος ίππος’s existence.
Oh look, humanity is dead.
(Yes, that was a repurposed Discworld quote. Why? Because bite me, that’s why.)
Midnight Shadow-
Basically, the creature (whatever it was) from the Doctor Who episode Midnight.                     Basically, the creature (whatever it was) from the Doctor Who episode Midnight.
Okay, please don’t do that.           Okay, please don’t do that.
No, really. Stop it. That episode freaked me out.      No, really. Stop it. That episode freaked me out.
You’re copying me quicker and quicker.  You’re copying me quicker and quicker.
Well this isn’t good. Well this isn’t good.
Oh look, she’s copying me now. This voice is going to be fun :) Oh look, she’s copying me now. This voice is going to be fun :)
Virus-
Virus is like a computer virus. Is it alive or sentient? Who knows! I don’t!
What I do know is that it infects everything it comes into contact with. The textures of the world are no longer rendered properly. There are places you can no longer go because they aren’t there anymore, nothing is there, an impenetrable nothingness where things used to exist.

Blueberry Codes
Linkara finds mention of the Blueberry Codes in the AbsentGrimoire. He studies and tries to find out more about them. They areinstructions by the ancients about a form of technomancy. They can be used tofight members of the Technumina.
The Technumina are technology based Outer Gods and how doyou fight evil technology? You need the right codes. However, get the codeswrong and they will do more harm than good.

Was the Entity a possible threat to the Temlins? Or are they just too powerful for even it?
Hadn't really thought about it before. Theoretically the Temlins would be more powerful given their nature vs. that of the Technumina, but that isn't a sure thing.

Would a technumina actually be invited as a champion to the contest?
No, because they are not best suited to protect a universe.

If the thing from the 2015 and 2016 Halloween storylines is part of the Technumina, and Linkara says that it represents "a doom for us all and everything we work for" does that mean it represents the Blue Screen of Death?
The one from 2015 was the Entity. And nope, the one from 2016 represents something different. =)

So, is "Craven King" the actual name of the King of Worms?
Nah, just a thing the Entity called him. The Technumina are not exactly one big happy family.

So are ALL of the Technumina spawned from Video Games?
Nope. They're all based on aspects of technology in some degree or another, the Entity exemplifying glitches, the King of Worms robots... and... well, others you might meet in the future. =)

Thoughts on the latest AT4W episode
WORTH THE WAIT!
It’s nice to know that Linkara stayed in contact with Lieutenant Munro. I wonder what he thinks about Linkara teaming up with Lord Vyce.
Oh Linksano, you are a gem. I would ask if, in your birth universe, you wouldn’t be considered a nerd but I’ve watch the Party Mania review. It’s basically the pot calling the kettle black whenever Linksano calls someone a nerd.
I love how people always point out how strange it is that Linkara reviews bad comics when the world is probably going to end or he’s probably going to die. I still headcanon that he has OCD and anxiety and his way of staying calm in bad situations is to review a comic.
The Entity kept the bridge of Comicron Two looking like Linkara’s apartment and there is a Mimikyu plushy in the background. I wonder if the Entity put it there.
“S̸o ̧ni̵ce̢ ̴t͝o see y͢ou ̀ag̢a͏i̧n, h̭̖̲͕͝ͅų̝̩̰͔̗̩̤͈͔u̻̱͖̗͙̼͜ͅum̼͙̪̱̘͔͢a͉͉̼̲̘̹͍̳̕a̶̤̞͈͚̖̟̖̜̼͟͞à̬̼̫̲͇̟͍̀͡a̡͈͔͜ąa̖̘̩͖͔̙̮à̸̡̮a̧͍̣͚a̶̹͟͝a̜̮̖͘a̛̖̲̹̝̝͉͉͞ͅn͉͎̖͙͖͎͍̲͞͝ͅ.”
“Dear lord, it’s creepy when you do that!”
“I k͠no͟w.”
Oh good. I’m glad that Lewis didn’t completely the victory that Linkara had against the Entity the first time around. Linkara was right about the Entity killing itself, Lord Vyce was right about it still being around and I was right about a part of the Entity being around (granted, I was thinking more along the lines of parts of its dead body, which still had the power to warp the world). We were all right! At least up to a point.
The Entity calls the King of Worms the Craven King. Man, I bet Technumina family reunions are awkward.
Okay, the moment when the Entity stopped Comicron Two dead still in space was creepy as all hell.
A space battle? HELL YES! Also, another reason not to destroy Comicron Two yet is because Linkara is still on board. You are a jerk Lord Vyce, just saying.
“Well, we’re boned.”
One of the things I found really creepy about the Entity the first time around was that it was willing to let Linkara wail on it for a while. It knew nothing Linkara did could physically hurt it and was happy to let Linkara try until he recognised the truth. It’s still creepy now.
Thank you Pollo. Yes, let’s find a way to help Linkara rather than shooting a ship that keeps repairing itself.
Who has two thumbs and predicted that the Entity was playing a new game which it didn’t want to end? This guy!
Okay, so I was sure that the Entity was playing a new game but I didn’t realise that the reason was because it was terrified of a pointless existence so it was playing games to avoid thinking about it. That’s dark. That’s really fucking dark and the comes after the last Entity storyline ended with Linkara convincing it to commit suicide.
I was not expecting to feel sorry for the Entity but here I am. Oh, it’s still scary and unimageable powerful but that doesn’t stop it being terrified of eternity. Even as a child, I thought immortality was terrifying. This reminds me of a story I once read about the Greek pantheon of Gods, they were fascinated by us humans. We are so tiny and insignificant, here for a moment and dead the next but our lives are like a bright flame and in some ways, that is so much more special than going on for eternity.
The Entity just begged Linkara to give it a purpose. Yep, I feel bad for it. Poor thing. Linkara made it realise that its original purpose was pointless and since then, the part of itself that didn’t die, hasn’t been able to find a new one that feels worth anything.
Linkara clearly feels bad for the Entity too. I think he was offering a genuine suggestion when he told the Entity that it could make itself human. Unfortunately, that’s not a solution that the Entity could live with taking.
This isn’t Star Trek’s Q getting board of being all powerful and wanting to become a crew member of the Enterprise. This is an outer god that is suicide and scared of death at the same time. The Entity can’t bear to live without meaning, is afraid of the nothingness of nonexistence and hates the idea of being less that it already is (which is way more powerful than us mortals).
I don’t think any of us expected this storyline to get to a point where Linkara was offering the Entity comfort before it died. God, I love this show.
OKAY, LORD VYCE YOU’VE GONE TOO FAR! Trying to destroy the Entity (even though it’s already dead) and being willing to sacrifice the Earth to do it is one thing, punching 90’s Kid is quite another! He trusted you! He knew that the Entity was dangerous so he went to work with you and this is how you treat him? I just want my baby to be happy!
You know, all those people who thought that Lord Vyce would one day become like the Entity were right. He is now a being made of living data, who causes untold damage in the name of a goal he believes in.
Even if Lord Vyce manages to destroy the Earth he won’t stop. He’d start absorbing whole universes into the singularity and destroying them in the name of killing the Entity. Lord Vyce will never believe that the Entity is dead. He can’t because then what would be the point of him? He is just as afraid of not having a purpose as the Entity was.

Probably a stupid question, but is the Entity related to being such as Fenric or the Great Intelligence? I'm asking because it appears that Linkara is starting to act like the Seventh Doctor and I wanted to be sure that there was a connection first.
There is not. The Technumina are basically Lovecraftian concepts built around technology in one way or another. The Entity is based around glitches, the King of Worms robots, there's one based around interconnectivity, etc. The only direct Doctor Who connection I'll bring up is that for one of them I was inspired by something from Doctor Who - a quote in regards to the Weeping Angels that was really just purple prose, but it got me thinking: "What if we had ideas that could think for themselves? What if one day our dreams no longer needed us?"
