I love that Dooku raised Rael and Qui-Gon back to back and then after Qui-Gon became a knight Dooku had to take like a 30 year break before deciding to raise Komari.

“Now where did you get this?” Daeron sniggered as he raised the instrument up for examination. “It is interesting.” Elrond coughed.
            “I, ah, made it myself.”
Daeron froze, the mandolin still held aloft in mock inspection, with the expression of one who has just realized he is tasting his toes.
“Well, I can see how much work you put into it,” he said at last, feigning to look the thing over more carefully. “What a very…kind and thoughtful gift.”
“How bad is it?” Elrond asked ruefully, looking from the mandolin up to Daeron’s face. Wisely conceding he could not believably lie, Daeron said:
“Instrument-making is a very particular skillset, which requires a great deal of experience. And I am—or have been—rather accustomed to having only the best. Nevertheless. I shall treasure this one as a most generous gesture of your friendship.” And his tone on this was sincere.
Elrond looked thoughtfully at the mandolin for a moment, and then he said: “I had intended it to be a gesture of something slightly more than friendship.”
Once more, Daeron froze. His eyes flicked quickly up to Elrond’s, scanning him with seeking intensity.
            “Oh?” was all he said.
“Only if it would not be troublesome to you,” Elrond added quickly, cautiously. Daeron was having trouble choosing between looking at the mandolin, Elrond, or a spot on the wall behind him.
“Troublesome?” he echoed, his sweet voice unusually hoarse.
“Only that, ah, I know you have…had rather a difficult time of things lately, and while I should hope this is less the case now, I know very well that some wounds take a great deal of time to heal, and never would I wish to add to your burdens for my own peace of mind.” Elrond was shuffling his hands amidst his sleeves, a gesture that would go unnoticed by most, but which betrayed anxiety to the observant.
“I…” Once upon a time, it had been rare indeed for Thingol’s minstrel to be at a loss for words. That was no longer the case, but such total shock was still unusual. “I shall award myself considerable credit for deception,” Daeron said, fingering the strings of the instrument. “If you could believe I would find any…attention of yours burdensome. Or indeed that…” He hesitated, then slowly his eyes rose to once more meet Elrond’s. “That I…have not longed for some time to hear this from you.”
            “Oh,” said Elrond.
“Shall I play it for you?” Daeron blurted out, holding the mishappen mandolin closer. Elrond laughed.
“Perhaps we will set that one aside, and you may use something more suitable,” he suggested. When Daeron looked relieved, Elrond only smiled.

Ight I hope you don't mind me putting this here but-
Tumblr media
BAM!
This is my oc for your fallen gabe Au if that's alright!
His names Enoch (no relation to the book of Enoch) he's a throne angel so about one rank or two above Gabriel. Hence why his face is a bit more humanoid
Also side note he is a fallen angel of wrath but I haven't finished the drawing for that yesterday and this one's been done for awhile and I reaaallly wanted to show him off so I'll be talking more about him pre fall.
Basically after God's disappearance he was one of the founding members of the council (though not for long).
During the Sisyphus insurrection he lead the charge against Sisyphus unfortunately permanently loosing the use of his wings, rumor states that his wings were torn off by Sisyphus himself but the validity of this statement is iffy. Though it was confirmed they where torn off in the battle
Part of the reason he didn't get his wings back is because he's from one of the oldest generations of angels makeing his wings extra fragile (plus eh, more of a head cannon to me that angel wing are so fragile it's hard to heal them from terrible injuries like that)
Both before and after the Sisyphus insurrection though he was an avid believer in the "ferryman have paid for there sins" and to let them into heaven (part of the reason he's now fallen). He's also had a tendency to yell when he got angry (and he got angry a lot).
But the thing he's most famous for is haveing either A. Brought the idea of tearing the light from angels as a punishment to the council or B. Taught the council how to tear the light from an angel without God's assistance (like god had to approve of an angels light being torn from them before hand). But I'll let you decide whatever.
And he was all for this "tear the light" out of the heretics bodie's". At first the council didn't agree but once they realized how useful it was to keep people in check they also went full force on it.
Part of me is thinking he either went a bit Robespierre and went crazy with tearing the light from people he thought was heretics or he thought the council was going crazy with tearing the light from people (probably the ladder)
Eventually though the council got tired of Enoch yelling about how the ferryman should be forgiven. And whatever stance he had on the councils use of tearing the light out of people. and in turn used the very punishment he brought to the council against him, tearing the light from his body. Over the years heaven forgot about him and the council said he retired.
He became a fallen angel of wrath and there's a lot of ideas I have there but this is already a wall of text so I apologize. In short as a fallen angel of wrath he went a bit crazy from the constantly drowning.
Final notes,
He probably knew our favorite archangels, maybe interacted with Gabriel a couple of times from being on the council, and Raph from haveing lost his wings in the insurrection (the one patient he couldn't heal other then Micheal)but I don't think he was to to close to either of them. Part of me wants to think of Enoch as a kind of mentor to Uriel but that's up to you. I just think it would be neat since Enoch Pre fall and after the insurrection was a pretty decent guy typically spending most of his time trying to find ways to make heaven better overall, once haveing been this source of enlightenment turned into this monster of rage and anger.
It would probably hurt Uriel to see what Enoch becomes but not destroy him completely. But that's more for when I get fallen Enoch art finished.
Ight, thank you for dealing with my ramblings and this monster of an ask I just really wanted to show my boy off.
OOOOH i really like the idea that he introduced light being torn from angels and so, whether he knew it or not, he ushered in the age of the council's tyranny once they realized how useful this could be. tbh it's interesting to consider a council corruption arc, although i do think they were at least already halfway there just from assuming god's throne (they 100% encouraged michael to leave and i think that was the tipping point into "anything goes" for them to maintain power) also attached to the idea of a primordial angel, sort of one of lucifer's time, who were made before much of creation and act as advisers to all the younger sets (CUTE to have him know and work with uriel) makes it all the more intriguing in a character sense when the wiseman falls as an angel of wrath...falling deeper and deeper into that pit of concern over heresy, what he brought into heaven, and the denial of the repentant. poor guy ;o;

Hihihi I just had a realization. (left this on Ao3 but wanted to tell you here too)
I just rediscovered and started rereading the TIZ au. And hels!Tango?? Being found in decked out?? With his black hair and glowing blue eyes?? Season 9 Tango, with Decked Out 2?????
Please tell me you see where I'm going with this.
Obviously this au is like 3 years old so I wouldn't be surprised if you want to just leave it but uh- yeah. That's a thing. That is definite fic potential if you wanted /nf
Serious ideas answer: Bad End AU, the replacement was successful, hels!Tango successfully became The Only Tango as he always wanted to and the other one has been imprisoned since season 7
Funny answer: in the ultimate alpha move Tango simply liked his evil self's style so much he decided to steal it after defeating him. Also he wears it better thank you very much

Brainworm: What if in the gov experiment au, Gyro just follows the duck cousins like the tragic haunted ghost he is, he doesn’t want to hurt them, but he watches over them maybee.
Donald is spooked, and he wants to go back home. Della smells adventure and probably wants to meet this ghost kid. Fethry would probably go along with Della, sounds like fun. Gladstone is 100% sure his cousins are overthinking it and firmly believes it’s just them knocking down objects when they don’t realize.

In the Scarian/Third Life Robin Hood AU I've decided that the way Scar communicates with Grian when he's in the castle is by writing notes which he ties to his arrows and fires up to Grian's window from the forest outside the castle walls
Sometimes they're love notes, sometimes they're secret plans, sometimes they're letters for Lizzie (from Joel) or Pearl, sometimes they're just Scar telling Grian about the interesting stuff happening outside the castle because, as the Prince, Grian's stuck inside and Scar knows how bored he gets and wants to cheer him up
Grian absolutely adores the letters, even if Scar nearly gave him a heart attack the first couple times he 'sent' them and, though he would never admit it, he keeps all of the letters and arrows in a locked trunk under his bed
When he's upset or having a bad day Grian will sometimes lock the door to his room, bring out the trunk, reread some of the letters and maybe stroke the fletching at the end, thinking of how soft it is and how much he wishes he was with Scar...

They turn the street corner like a dam giving way, flooding commotion into the sleepy afternoon. The noise comes first, shouts of surprise and warning and fury churning up the air and drawing curious glances. After that, the golden retriever streams by in a flash of shining amber fur and fluttering ears. Then the boy sails past, no less golden or swift so there's no question at all: They belong to each other. He vaults a table with relative ease while his dæmon shoots underneath it like an arrow, both to the great displeasure of the man attempting to sell wares from it. On the other side, he has the time to glance backward and, seeing no one (yet), slow enough to scan the small groups nearby.
“Henry,” the hunting dog urges, turning with obvious intent to keep running. She hesitates, because he thinks wait, having locked eyes on exactly what he was looking for. Unassuming if you were relying on glances, with a build that could not be mistaken for his own, and flanked by a nearly startlingly large cat with keen eyes Henry had felt before he found them. He crosses directly to the other young man and pushes what he held in his hands toward him, into his chest— a book. Just a book, mid-sized and hardcover. Blue and faded with time, yellow folded around the binding, but no other identifying marks. (The content within isn't likely to be helpful either, written in a set of characters long out of use by any nation.)
“Hold it or hide it.” Issued with low clarity, despite the catch in his breathing. Words that teeter on a fence line of an order and a beg for mercy, though either way an act of trust. “Please,” he adds, pressing lightly on the cover. Henry lingers for a long second, holding a look on at this owl-eyed stranger.. and then the distance is too great. He sucks in a light breath, wincing, and takes a few steps backward, before finally turning to follow his dæmon.
No sooner does he break into a run than one of his pursuers appears. The dark-haired woman is sharp and thin. Overhead, her kestrel dæmon keens, having spotted their quarry turning another corner down the lane a ways. She follows without more than a glance at the faces around her. Later, two other obvious hunters appear. They sweep at a much slower pace, trying to reestablish a sighting to lead with, but there's nothing for them to find. Eventually, the move on, back the way from which all the chaos arrived. Empty handed.
Tumblr media
Henry reappears some half an hour later, coming from the east even though he'd run off to the south. He walks with a breezy air of a simple passer-by, no hint at all he was ever being pursued.
“The thing about birds,” he says as he approaches, as if they had been mid-conversation and he was only returning to the field of banter, “they're excellent at looking over things. ..Not so great at looking under.” He finds a wall and falls back against it, casual as anything. Elektryona follows suit, sitting at his left knee. After a second's consideration, she gives up and lays down, huffing quietly. There was a beat in which they both, boy and dog, settled, as if they'd reached some identical, silent conclusion. “Did you keep it, then?”

small personal update
.
taking a break from being so intensely involved with volturi fandom has been a really good thing for me I think.
I still think about and draw them daily—to me they are like my own characters now, with long much I have changed them, and how much it has changed me since being a preteen.
But I think I got so obsessed with posting, being liked, and being a weird persona of myself that I just burnt myself out. Especially from 2017—2019, I was just a mess, and addicted to the praise and attention I got from posting non-stop, and making content almost purely to please others (which I now realize was a way of escaping the nightmare that was my previously incredibly abusive household, and the years of neglect that came with it.)
And now, since 2022 I've been on a hiatus, and I think that was the right decision for me.
its been really hard in some ways. After escaping my toxic father, the shock and grief of it all was so so much for me to handle. All those years, my entire life, locked in a room, guilted and fear-mongered into complete and never-ending isolation; to finally be free from that was both liberating but the hardest thing I've ever done, and it crushed me, it drained everything from me, including my one tether: my art.
i struggled with it for a while, and still do. i still only draw the bare minimum, but when I draw now its for me. there's no more 'cant draw That because its Cringe'. theres no constant, nagging guilt from not posting something in over a month. i don't have to make excuses, or grovel manically for imagined people to forgive me—as if not posting is some cardinal sin.
i just draw for fun, because I feel like it. because it makes me happy. :-)

OH MY GOD and ganon? like what’s his deal
ok so. again the more recent games don't have much ganon (of the 4 I've played, only totk has ganondorf, the man, and he's not super important story wise beyond being a guy to fight. botw's enemy is ganon, as a miasma creature of hatred, and skyward sword's enemy is demise, who is not ganon. technically. and then link's awakening is not a standard zelda plot. so no ganon) the older games have more ganon, so I'm working with largely secondhand knowledge, but basically... nintendo will not give this man any sort of depth. he has some? in windwaker? to my understanding, i have not finished that one. but windwaker takes place in a hyrule that's been flooded and ganon always has a really long lifespan so he was there when it flooded and his people were suffering and he was trying to protect them idk the specifics and I don’t know how well done it is but it's there. and then in the rest of the games he's just evil for the sake of being evil?? which, if meant to be because he holds the triforce of power is dumb, because if there's three pieces of something the logical story conclusion isn't that one is automatically bad it's that all three should join in harmony. duh. they won't give him a real motivation for evil beyond conquering for conquering's sake, so if he HAS to be evil I think it'd be more interesting if they made him a victim of demise's curse? like, demise's curse demands a vessel for evil, if hylia's descendant always has the triforce of wisdom and her champion always has the triforce of courage, it'd make sense for demise to take the third piece, the holder of power. so like what if. this guy was just trying to be a good person, a good leader, but knowing from history books, from every ganondorf that has come before, and the triangle in the center of your hand, that you are predestined for evil, that hylia's vessel and her champion will cut you down one day. imagine fighting it. imagine being unable to. I JUST THINK IT COULD BE REALLY FUCKED UP. (also imagine a ganon who is on good terms with zelda and link. imagine having to be cut down by your friends. imagine having to cut down your friend)
the real world reason they won't give him any depth though is racism most likely. so. ganon looks like this in ocarina of time (his first appearance as a man, prior games ganon was just a creature again)
Tumblr media
I'm sure you already know what zelda and link look like. he's from a desert tribe called the gerudo (a race of all women btw ganon is the only man they have one man born every hundred years they make him king) who are, in oot, referred to as a tribe of bandits and whatnot they just steal and attack you, so it's like. it's pretty obvious what's going on here, and the gerudo are characterized better in botw although their character design is still very orentalist which is an issue that doesn't really show through THIS ganon's design but IS an issue I promise go look up the gerudo women it's the jasmine in aladdin thing all over again. anyway. so. nintendo this man could be so cool and interesting PLEASEEEEEEE

I’ve played Shadows of Mordor and Shadows of War so I’m very used to Edgy, Sourpuss Wraith Celebrimbor who was game-canonically so fucking pissed at Sauron that he refused to leave Middle-Earth until he happened to find Talion and so began their decades long Old Married Couple dynamic. Until Celebrimbor fucks it up. Several times.
Now that Celebrimbor is very different to this new interpretation of Celebrimbor in TROP and honestly... I dig it. This Celebrimbor has eccentric uncle vibes. He has no thoughts other than for his forge and for Making Things in it. Every time we see him outside of the forge he seems nervous and he only gets fired up (forgive the pun) when Gil-Galad refuses to let him Make Stuff. He’s adorable. And I can totally see why he would fall into Sauron’s trap. The man has not an ounce of guile in his body if he isn’t following orders to keep a secret, why would he expect duplicity from his new smithing buddy?
And I know some in the fandom give him shit for not thinking of creating a mithril alloy but honestly I’ve done the same thing. Not with smithing of course but even if you’re an expert, sometimes the simplest answer can be staring you in the face and you won’t see it until someone pulls you out of your own head. And Celebrimbor is Feanor’s grandson, The master smith of Eregion. No one is going to contradict him. Until Sauron comes along and Celebrimbor latches onto this new partner like a touch-starved limpet.
Such a shame that when shit goes even more sideways Sauron’s gonna use his dead body as a war banner. They had such good chemistry.
