The Demon Prefect Rides Again

Bertram Harroway put on his evening clothes as if headed to war. In a way, he was. It would be an emotional war, he supposed. He let his valet help him into his coat and glanced down at the letter from Vera Dalrymple that kicked the whole thing off.

Darling Bertie,

That certainly wasn’t what she’d called him when he found her in a compromising position with Hector Grantham in her fifth year. And Eliza Dearborne in her sixth.

As you are possibly the only person on this planet who can make Albus Dumbledore mind you,

He thought, perhaps, one other existed, but it didn’t do to dwell on Gellert Grindelwald. He’d never liked the little wart, no matter how infatuated Albus was with him.

could you please do something about him? I popped into town last weekend and ran into him in Diagon. He looks dreadful. And his robes!

Bertram sighed. He knew precisely what Vera meant.

He’s gone old on us. I know it started creeping up on him in the aftermath of That Man followed on by That Gobby Upstart in the seventies, but something is really, terribly wrong. I suspect a whacking great load of guilt and grief, but really, Bertie, he looks like a stiff wind will carry him off. He looks more like he’s in the middle of his two-hundreds than just past his first century.

Trust Vera to look at a dark lord terrorizing the country and call him a gobby upstart. He’d seen photos of Albus recently and he agreed with Vera. Voluminous robes only his so much and Albus always had been nervy, no matter what he pretended otherwise for the magical public.

Honestly Bertie, I’m worried. He’s always worked much too hard and taken on too much responsibility, but he’s never been so frail before. He wouldn’t even go to tea with me and there is little Albus Dumbledore loves more than a cream tea and a good gossip. He doesn’t go anywhere, either. He used to love the theater and I can’t remember when he last made up part of a theater party. I think he might be punishing himself, in some bizarre way.

That was the part that spurred him into action. A quick note to the Deputy Headmistress and he secured a Saturday evening away for Albus.

He isn’t researching and he won’t meet with friends and it’s as if all he’ll allow himself is duty. It can’t go on. It simply can’t, Bertie. You remember how he got after exams? We’re headed for a crash the likes of which we’ve never seen and I’m so frightened it’ll take him from us. You’re the only one I could think of who might get through to him. Our Vally needs the Demon Prefect to come out of mothballs.

He'd see what he could do. Vally Dumbledore (nicknamed for the way he’d valiantly come to the defense of anyone he thought wronged) was the most infuriatingly stubborn young man he’d ever met.

We’ll plan a little reunion for all of us this summer. Dahlia wants everyone to see her gardens, in any case. She’s doing some interesting things with roses these days. Or perhaps, if you can persuade Vally to take care of himself, we could make up a theater party. I hear the latest from that Carruthers girl is splendid fun.

PS It probably isn’t my place to say so, but I’m going to anyway. He always had. G.P. for you and you ought to have swept him off his feet, all Oxford-polished, before That Man had a chance to get his hooks in. You helped create this problem by being as obtuse as a box turtle, so you can fix it.

Bertie sighed and went down to the Floo room. He knew he bore some responsibility in never acknowledging his own feelings. He simply hadn’t thought it appropriate since he was a perfect and then Head Boy. He could easily have picked up their acquaintance once Albus left Hogwarts. Although…there came a point where Albus pushed everyone away after his mother died, when all those lovely plans he’d made fell through so he could care for his sister. He never really let any of them back in after.

He wondered if he could have made a difference there, kept Albus from ending up so cut off from the academia he loved that he clung to the only person able to keep up with him. They would never know, he supposed.

He checked his pocket watch and collected coat and hat from his hovering valet.

“Thank you, Deverell. Don’t feel the need to wait up if I’m late returning.”

“Of course, sir.” If he didn’t know better, he’d think his valet quietly judging him.

Most likely the man judged his early departure. If he knew Vally as well as he once did, it would take quite a bit of persuasion to rout him out of his office and make him dress properly, especially if Vera was right and he was somehow punishing himself for his failures, perceived or otherwise.

Vera, irksomely, was usually right.

As he stepped to the Floo and gave the direction, he wondered if he should bring his old slipper. It always made an impact on a recalcitrant Vally.

Hogwarts hadn’t changed in the decades since his leaving. Like Oxford, she endured, only she housed grubby schoolchildren instead of grubby undergrads. Professor McGonagall sending him through the internal Floo system came as a surprise. He’d never really thought about the professors needing to get somewhere quickly before.

He stepped out into the Headmaster’s office and brushed the slight traces of soot from his clothes.

“Good evening, Vally.” He began.

Albus looked up sharply from a thick book propped on his desk.

“Bertram Harroway? What are…how…”

He ended by staring as if he couldn’t quite believe his eyes. Thankfully, he looked a good bit better than Vera described. Still too thin, of course, but he’d always forgotten meals or spent an hour just moving his dinner about his plate when in the grip of An Idea (or nerves). He looked as if he'd let go of some of the guilt and grief weighing him down. His hair, which had turned white practically overnight, had regained its more youthful ginger hue. The deep lines carved into his face by decades of worry seemed to have filled in. He looked more like he ought to look, like a non-magical of fifty or sixty instead of a man nearing the end of his life.

“Vera sent me, Vally. She said you’re getting old and could do with a bit of livening up. I thought you might like a night out. I have a box at the Savoy. They’re doing Pinafore at the moment and I know how you feel about well done G and S.” He moved into Albus’ office, helping himself to a chair when Albus continued to stare.

“Vera Dalrymple said she’d rather be boiled in Frederica Morningside’s failed potions projects than ever communicate with you again via any medium.” Albus finally spoke.

“I had just gated her for the rest of term. You can’t blame her for being distraught.”

“I couldn’t possibly go out on such short notice. This whole idea is patently ridiculous.” Albus nodded firmly, as if he’d made up his mind.

“You can go and get dressed right now is what you can do.” Bertram insisted. “The show starts at eight and I booked a table for supper after, at the Palace.”

“India Palace?” He at least looked interested at that. “It’s been quite some time since I’ve been there.”

The wistful note in his voice belied his firm refusal.

“It was the day you got Greta Saatchi’s autograph after standing in pouring rain for two hours and we spent a further two getting you properly warm again when you returned.” He chuckled at the memory.

How had they been that carefree?

Well, he hadn’t. He’d had to play the heavy when the miscreants tried to slip back into the castle with the Hogsmeade crowd, as if they hadn’t slipped off to London for a matinee and a curry. Albus shifted slightly, as if remembering Bertram’s method for warming him up.

“We were thrilled when you finally left to terrorize Oxford, did you know?”

“I’m sure you were. I’ve returned just to terrorize you, Vally, you know?”

“Oh how lucky am I.” Albus replied acidly. “I’m not going anywhere. I’ve decided.”

How well he remembered that rather sulky tone. He certainly heard it often enough.

“I suppose I could go and fetch my slipper if you need convincing? I don’t care to see Vera so distressed, you know.”

It wasn’t often that anyone shocked Albus Dumbledore into complete silence.

“You still have that…that thing?” It always entertained Bertram to see shades of their youth in his friends.

“Of course I do. It’s an exceedingly motivating piece of footwear. Now, be a good chap and go get dressed. Theater waits for no man and Professor McGonagall assured me you were overdue for a night out. Something about you working all hours?” He put a bit of the old Demon Prefect in that one, the same tone he’d used countless times when locating an Albus who quite forgot about such mundanities as curfews.

Albus was out of his chair and halfway to the door to his quarters when he stopped.

“What do you mean Professor McGonagall assured you?” he asked waspishly.

“Of course I wrote her first to ensure you could have a nice evening with an old friend. It’s no use organizing a surprise one can’t pull off in the end.”

Albus gaped at him. “You cannot just go about organizing the world as you please.”

“It’s worked for me thus far.” Bertram answered mildly. “Do go and get dressed, Vally.”

“I can go as I am.” Albus insisted.

“Oh no you are not. I know you own perfectly nice evening clothes. Go and put them on.” He cared very much for Albus, but he’d rather chew his own arm off than attend a public event with Albus wearing golden yellow robes patterned with swirling suns. “We aren’t leaving until you are attired to my satisfaction.”

Albus stared at him for a moment before turning, very clearly not stomping to the door, and entering his quarters. He shut the door just shy of a bang.

Bertram settled down, quite pleased with his evening’s work. They’d make the theater in a timely manner now, and he could treat Albus to a lovely meal after. He’d have to suggest Dahlia and Hitty invite a little party for dinner one evening. And perhaps Albus would join him for the theater more frequently now. Albus, now more than ever, needed the people who cared for him to pull together.

The feelings he once thought faded raised their heads again, like a parched garden in the rain.

Gene Hunt

Character Associations (This actually contains massive spoilers for the show so proceed with caution. Also it’s the longest one yet)

In Life

- Raised in a two up two down on the edge of the city centre. His father wasn’t good to the family and there often wasn’t any money to spare. His mum did odd jobs for the neighbours such as laundry and mending. Gene got his first job as a paper boy at twelve.

- By fifteen his father was gone. One night he disappeared without a trace, and it fell to Gene to be the main provider for the family. Leaving school he began to work as an dogsbody in the local police station. Making tea, fetching files and sometimes answering phones. It gave him his first taste of the career he would dedicate his life to.

- Although there wasn’t a lot of money, Gene was allowed to keep some of his income to spend as he please, and it was with this money he would take his brother, or occasionally a girl, to the cinema, where he developed a love of Westerns.

-At eighteen he began to train as a Bobby. He was often invited to share drinks with other officers, as most of these men were older, it lead to him to develop a taste for scotch, so he could continue to fit in.

-In June 1953 it was decided that extra man-power was needed to keep the streets in order during the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. He and his mentor Morrison were sent to the village of Farringfield Green. As it was so quiet Morrison decided he could stop for a tipple....the rest is history.

In Death

- While living his “life” Gene saw projections on how he felt his world would have changed. His younger brother, in the absence of a positive role model, turned to drugs, leaving his mother broken hearted.

-After meeting “Mrs Hunt” Gene became adamant the he never wanted children, due to a consuming fear that he would become like his father. Mrs Hunt did want children, which was one of the first cracks in the glass of their relationship.

-As he grew older he began to form a band of brothers, like they did in Westerns, this group was the most loyal, dedicated team he could ask for.

-Moving to London after the tragedy of losing Sam proved to be one of his most significant changes. It was in London he met Alex Drake, the women who would make him remember, who would be the first step in helping him find his own peace and also the first person he would ever properly fall in love with.

NASA's Curiosity rover finds surprise clues to Mars's watery past Among other discoveries made by the Curiosity rover, rippled rock textures suggest lakes existed in a region of ancient Mars that scientists expected to be drier. When NASA's Curiosity rover arrived at the "sulfate-bearing unit" last fall, scientists thought they'd seen the last evidence that lakes once covered this region of Mars. That's because the rock layers here formed in drier settings than regions explored earlier in the mission. The area's sulfates—salty minerals—are thought to have been left behind when water was drying to a trickle. So Curiosity's team was surprised to discover the mission's clearest evidence yet of ancient water ripples that formed within lakes. Billions of years ago, waves on the surface of a shallow lake stirred up sediment at the lake bottom, over time creating rippled textures left in rock. "This is the best evidence of water and waves that we've seen in the entire mission," said Ashwin Vasavada, Curiosity's project scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California. "We climbed through thousands of feet of lake deposits and never saw evidence like this—and now we found it in a place we expected to be dry." Layers of history Since 2014, the rover has been ascending the foothills of Mount Sharp, a 3-mile-tall (5-kilometer-tall) mountain that was once laced with lakes and streams that would have provided a rich environment for microbial life, if any ever formed on the Red Planet. Mount Sharp is made up of layers, with the oldest at the bottom of the mountain and the youngest at the top. As the rover ascends, it progresses along a Martian timeline, allowing scientists to study how Mars evolved from a planet that was more Earth-like in its ancient past, with a warmer climate and plentiful water, to the freezing desert it is today. Having climbed nearly a half-mile above the mountain's base, Curiosity has found these rippled rock textures preserved in what's nicknamed the "Marker Band"—a thin layer of dark rock that stands out from the rest of Mount Sharp. This rock layer is so hard that Curiosity hasn't been able to drill a sample from it despite several attempts. It's not the first time Mars has been unwilling to share a sample; lower down the mountain, on "Vera Rubin Ridge," Curiosity had to try three times before finding a spot soft enough to drill. Scientists will be looking for softer rock in the week ahead. But even if they never get a sample from this unusual strip of rock, there are other sites they're eager to explore. Martian clues Far ahead of the Marker Band, scientists can see another clue to the history of Mars's ancient water in a valley named Gediz Vallis. Wind carved the valley, but a channel running through it that starts higher up on Mount Sharp is thought to have been eroded by a small river. Scientists suspect wet landslides also occurred here, sending car-size boulders and debris to the bottom of the valley. Because the resulting debris pile sits on top of all the other layers in the valley, it's clearly one of the youngest features on Mount Sharp. Curiosity got a glimpse of this debris at Gediz Vallis Ridge twice last year but could only survey it from a distance. The rover team hopes to have another chance to view it later this year. One more clue within the Marker Band that has fascinated the team is an unusual rock texture likely caused by some sort of regular cycle in the weather or climate, such as dust storms. Not far from the rippled textures are rocks made of layers that are regular in their spacing and thickness. This kind of rhythmic pattern in rock layers on Earth often stems from atmospheric events happening at periodic intervals. It's possible the rhythmic patterns in these Martian rocks resulted from similar events, hinting at changes in the Red Planet's ancient climate. "The wave ripples, debris flows, and rhythmic layers all tell us that the story of wet-to-dry on Mars wasn't simple," Vasavada said. "Mars's ancient climate had a wonderful complexity to it, much like Earth's." A 190 bpm ho fatto un sacco di cose. Alcune belle altre abbastanza terrorizzanti. La testa dicono fa tutto e il corpo segue. Quindi che avessi avuto paura o che mi stessi esaltando, biologicamente sono sempre la stessa pila di cellule e impulsi nervosi. Per questo motivo ho sempre seguito la mia testa e lasciato che il corpo facesse il suo.

Ho sempre provato una sensazione di agio nella fatica. Un inspiegabile senso di comfort e di naturalità. Per questo correvo e corro tanto. A volte fino alla nausea. Poco importa. Corro. Al buio o alla luce del giorno, fa lo stesso. Caldo o freddo estremo non importano. Sono solo stimoli diversi ai quali ci adattiamo perchè alla fine il fine è medesimo. Muoversi.

Il viaggio è sempre lo stesso, minuto dopo minuto sempre più a fondo, fino a dove posso perdermi completamente e farmi risputare per terra nudo, rinato.

Ho sempre vissuto in mezzo alla velocità. Sono nato in una città grande eveloce. Sono cresciuto in fretta. Forse troppo in fretta . Ma non c'erano altre strade. Mi riusciva bene e seppure non è detto che mi facesse bene l'ho fatto e questo è il risultato. Preso e portato a casa.

La mia casa era tra enormi pile di cemento e smog e sono sempre fuggito. Ora la mia casa vera è in cima ad una collina e guarda a nord un enorme specchio d'acqua al cospetto di pareti verticali granitiche e creste aeree. No, non abito in Patagonia. Le mie origini sono peruviane quindi per quanto riguarda il landscape e la quota ci siamo, ( anche un po l'attitude del soggetto) ma tuttavia ho vissuto gran parte della mia vita a sud delle alpi più precisamente tra le orobie e le retiche. Un po ovunque, dove aveva senso essere e dove la vita mi ha portato.

In mezzo a queste valli corro la mia vita in lungo ed in largo e ne ho fatto un parco giochi bellissimo. Mi sento davvero fortunato. Oggi penso che ogni cosa sia finita al suo posto e che tutto si prospetti come una promessa di altre avventure. Ho sempre scritto perchè scriverlo aiuta a darli un posto giusto nella testa e poco importa se a caso ed ovunque, basta che sia come deve essere.

190bpm sono un privilegio al quale la vita mi ha dato accesso e tutto quello che c'è nel mezzo è un viaggio lungo che ho deciso di raccontare.

Saranno racconti veri pieni di libertà, incontri ed abbandoni di gioia e di dolore, di rabbia e di stupore ma pur sempre racconti veri che oggi sono indelebili nella mia pelle e nella mia memoria. Volti e immagini che resteranno con me per sempre per buoni o brutti motivi.

Saranno racconti senza compromessi come me come del resto è questo viaggio che altro non è che la mia la vita.

Uscito nelle sale il 9 novembre 1988, ha come personaggio principale una bambola di nome Chucky, all'interno della quale un serial-killer ha riversato la propria anima in punto di morte; il suo scopo è quello di rientrare in un corpo umano, precisamente il corpo della prima persona alla quale ha rivelato la sua vera identità, ed in breve tempo, altrimenti rimarrà intrappolato per sempre nel pupazzo. Per tale obiettivo dovrà scegliere Andy, un bambino che riceve la bambola come regalo di compleanno. Sadico, crudele, astuto e determinato, Chucky riuscirà quasi nel suo intento, mietendo numerose vittime sul suo cammino.

Il film venne distribuito negli Stati Uniti il 9 novembre 1988 dalla MGM/UA Communications Co. ed incassò più di 44 milioni di dollari a fronte di un budget di produzione di 9 milioni di dollari.[1][2][3]

Il fatto che sia divenuto un cult,[4] e il successo ottenuto al botteghino, hanno generato un media franchise che include una serie di sei sequel, merchandising, fumetti, un film reboot uscito nel giugno 2019 e una serie televisiva che è iniziata nell'ottobre 2021.

Nella notte del 9 Novembre 1988, il famigerato strangolatore e serial killer di Chicago Charles Lee Ray, stanato dalla polizia, è inseguito fra le strade della città dal detective Mike Norris. Dopo essere stato ferito alla gamba, Charles tenta di raggiungere il furgone sul quale lo attende il complice Eddie Caputo ma questi, vedendo il trambusto e una macchina della polizia in avvicinamento, fugge abbandonando l'amico. Ormai privo di speranze, Charles si rifugia in un negozio di giocattoli dove Norris gli spara, giurando vendetta contro il detective e il compagno che lo ha tradito, mette in pratica un rito voodoo su un bambolotto "Tipo Bello" per trasferire la sua anima al suo interno, il rito causa una tempesta di fulmini sul negozio, che ne provoca l'esplosione, Norris sopravvive e ritrova il cadavere dello strangolatore con il bambolotto accanto.

Il mattino seguente, Andy Barclay chiede alla madre Karen un bambolotto "Tipo Bello" come regalo per il suo sesto compleanno. Essendo in ristrettezze economiche, Karen acquista un "Tipo Bello" da un vagabondo, all'insaputa di tutti, il bambolotto acquistato si rivela essere proprio quello posseduto dall'anima del serial killer il quale, dopo essersi presentato ad Andy come Chucky, miete la sua prima vittima, Maggie Peterson un'amica di Karen che stava facendo da babysitter ad Andy, facendola precipitare dalla finestra del condominio dopo averla colpita in faccia con un martello giocattolo. Sulla scena del crimine, Andy cerca di convincere il detective Norris che l'assassino è il suo bambolotto Chucky ma non viene creduto; anzi, il detective sospetta che sia stato lo stesso Andy ad aver ucciso Maggie, il che fa arrabbiare Karen, la quale lo caccia via.

Il giorno dopo, Andy marina la scuola portando Chucky con sé. Arrivato all'abitazione di Eddie Caputo, il complice che lo aveva abbandonato, Chucky lo uccide accendendo il forno, che Eddie gli spara contro facendo saltare in aria l'abitazione, perché sentiva la presenza di un intruso. La polizia decide di portare Andy all'ospedale psichiatrico infantile, dopo averlo ritrovato presso la scena del crimine; quando il bambino ripete che è stato Chucky a provocare l'esplosione, e la madre lo separa dal bambolotto. Una volta a casa, però, Karen scopre con orrore che Andy stava dicendo la verità perché si rende conto che il bambolotto funzionava senza le batterie che erano incluse da inserire, Chucky la assale e fugge dall'appartamento. Karen corre da Norris e terrorizzata gli racconta l'accaduto, ma il detective la crede pazza, anche lui però si ricrede quando il vagabondo che aveva venduto il bambolotto a Karen racconta di averlo raccolto nella stessa notte dalle macerie del negozio di giocattoli nel quale Norris aveva ucciso Charles Lee Ray. Chucky tenta di vendicarsi di Norris assalendolo in macchina provocando un incidente stradale, ma lui riesce a salvarsi e spara a Chucky, che fugge via.

Chucky fa visita a John Bishop, detto "Dottor Death", l'uomo che gli ha insegnato il voodoo e dopo averlo sottomesso usando contro di lui una bambolina voodoo con il suo stesso aspetto, gli chiede perché prova dolore fisico e sanguina per il colpo di pistola di Norris nonostante egli sia un bambolotto, John gli spiega che il suo corpo di plastica si sta vitalizzando, quindi Chucky si sta tramutando in una bambolotto umano e mortale, John rivela a Chucky che l'unico modo per sfuggire a questo destino è quello di trasferire la propria anima nel corpo della prima persona alla quale ha rivelato la sua identità, ovvero Andy; Chucky poi accoltella al cuore alla bambolina connessa fisicamente a John, e si reca all'ospedale psichiatrico. Norris e Karen arrivano all'abitazione di John il quale prima di morire, rivela ai due che per uccidere Chucky devono colpirlo al cuore.

Chucky arriva all'ospedale psichiatrico, e ucciso il dottor Ardmore con un apparecchio dell'elettroshock, e insegue Andy che si è già recato a casa sua, Karen e Norris arrivano all'appartamento per salvare Andy, che sta per essere posseduto da Chucky, Karen e Andy riescono a bruciare vivo Chucky nel camino e dopo essere stati ri-attaccati da un redivivo Chucky, Norris spara al cuore del bambolotto uccidendolo definitivamente e mettendo così fine alla minaccia, mentre l'ambulanza e la polizia arrivano in loro soccorso.

Renata Viganò scrittrice, poeta e partigiana italiana, passata alla storia per il libro L’Agnese va a morire, romanzo neorealistico tra i più intensi della narrativa ispirata alla Resistenza.

Il suo è uno stile antiletterario, dalla cifra antieroica, mai retorico, asciutto ed efficace che ritrova il paesaggio e l’azione umana segnata dalla violenza della guerra come una lingua nuova.

Nata a Bologna il 17 giugno 1900, sin da piccola, amava scrivere e sognava di studiare medicina.

A tredici anni ha pubblicato la sua prima raccolta di poesie, Ginestra in fiore, seguita da Piccola Fiamma, del 1916.

Durante l’adolescenza, però, ha dovuto ben presto fare i conti con la realtà, la sua famiglia era andata in rovina, costringendola a crescere all’improvviso. Interrotto il liceo ha cominciato a lavorare come inserviente e poi infermiera.

L’incontro col marito, Antonio Meluschi, poeta e partigiano, ha avuto una grande importante sulla sua maturazione politica.

Impegnata concretamente al servizio delle persone bisognose, ha continuato a scrivere poesie e racconti e per quotidiani e periodici, fino all’8 settembre 1943 quando, con la firma dell’armistizio, la sua vita ha avuto una svolta esistenziale: assieme al marito ha partecipato alla lotta partigiana col nome di Contessa, prima in Romagna e poi nelle valli di Comacchio, tenendo con sé il figlio Agostino, di soli sette anni. Faceva la staffetta, curava le persone ferite e collaborava con la stampa clandestina, a quel periodo risalgono gli scritti Le donne e i tedeschi, Le donne e i fascisti, Le donne e i partigiani, pubblicati su La Comune nel 1944.

Di questo periodo disagiato, ma intriso di sano idealismo esistenziale, è stata pervasa la sua successiva produzione letteraria.

L’Agnese va a morire, del 1949, tradotto in quattordici lingue che ha vinto il Premio Viareggio, ha rappresentato il punto più alto della sua opera, nel 1976 ne è stato tratto l’omonimo film diretto da Giuliano Montaldo.

Il romanzo racconta vicende partigiane con onesta semplicità da cronista e spirito di sincera adesione agli eventi.

La protagonista è una donna che aderisce alla causa antifascista dopo l’uccisione della sua gatta da parte dei nazisti, l’animale rappresentava il legame con il marito ucciso dai tedeschi. Dopo quel brutto episodio, si unisce ai partigiani e diventa il simbolo di un mondo umile offeso, che reagisce alla violenza come può, con una forza interiore che è qualcosa di ancor più primordiale di una coscienza politica. Tra i partigiani si muove per un istinto naturale, umano, di giustizia, come una necessità, senza costruzioni ideologiche o intellettuali. Il personaggio, molto simile alla scrittrice, era in realtà la memoria di una vera partigiana conosciuta durante la Resistenza.

La condizione delle donne ha permeato tutta la sua opera.

Nel 1952 ha pubblicato Mondine, la sintesi di un’inchiesta svolta durante la campagna di monda in Lomellina.

Nel 1955 ha visto la luce Donne della Resistenza, ventotto ritratti di antifasciste bolognesi cadute per salvare il nostro paese.

Ha collaborato con il Pioniere tra il 1960 e il 1962 pubblicando i racconti La Bambola brutta, La bambina negra e La Fuga.

Del 1962 è il romanzo, Una storia di ragazze, che narra le vicende dolorose di giovani di diversa provenienza sociale, tutte sottomesse al mondo maschile.

Il suo ultimo lavoro è stato Matrimonio in brigata del 1976, una raccolta di racconti partigiani.

Due mesi prima della morte, avvenuta a Bologna il 23 aprile 1976, le è stato assegnato il premio giornalistico Bolognese del mese, per il suo stretto rapporto con la realtà popolare della città.
