The movie delivers on its hype and all the buzz around it. In the world of massy movies, it's great to see a movie focusing on the ground realities with such great performances & raw emotions, especially Vikrant Massey 👌👌

The screenplay was so good that it involved you fully, it was like my whole mind & soul was in this movie. Although the love angle of the movie was so perfect that it's too good to be true. That part was a little fictional for me.

Whether in finding such a rare love or in cracking UPSC, the movie shows the journey of Manoj to beat the odds. Some do & some don't. I have to admit that it's climax got me a little emotional. But the movie was truly beautiful & inspiring❤️❤️

12th Fail does it Again! The film of the year bagged the Best Film Award last night at the Critics Choice Awards 2024. Led by Vikrant Massey, the film was helmed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

While giving out the award, actor Anil Kapoor praised his dear friend, director-writer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, as he said, “That’s the kind of madness he has, 39 years back and he still has it and I’m sure, I’m 100% sure that it is going to amplify more and more in the coming years. It is a privilege and honor to call David Lean also known as Vidhu Vinod Chopra for the best film ‘12th Fail”.

The actor also added, “The maverick, the crazy, the madman- Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Sir, you don’t know how happy I am to give you this award, because seriously you deserve it. I love you, my friend. We’ve been friends for 40 years now and you’ve not changed. Even You look as young as me na!!”

Vidhu Vinod Chopra also added, “If you want better cinema in the country, in addition to good writers we need to have better recognition for good films.”

Followed by a standing ovation for the fantastic as he received the award with the entire cast on the stage dedicating it to each one of them there.

12th Fail, based on a true story, draws from the struggles of the millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. Hrithik Roshan, anticipating the Fighter trailer launch today, recently showered praise on Vikrant Massey's 12th Fail. Directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, the film has gained acclaim for its compelling narrative, transforming into a sleeper hit. Roshan, after viewing the movie, expressed admiration and inspiration.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday night, Hrithik Roshan wrote, “Finally saw 12th Fail. It’s quite a masterclass in filmmaking. Above everything else I was inspired by the use of sound and sound effects play in enhancing the moments. Brilliant performances. Mr. Chopra , what a movie ! Thank you for the brilliance. I am deeply inspired by this one.”

The film rewrote the new meaning of its success at the box office and collected more than Rs. 50 crores. 12th Fail, based on a true story, draws from the struggles of the millions of students who attempt the UPSC entrance exam. But at the same time, it goes beyond that one exam and encourages people to not lose heart in the face of failure and to restart.

On the work front, Hrithik Roshan is set to star in Siddharth Anand’s Fighter. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor with Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi and Sanjeeda Sheikh. The film arrives in theatres on January 25, 2024.

12th Fail world television premiere: When, where to watch Vikrant Massey starrer on TV

Read on to know when Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail starring Vikrant Massey will have its world television premiere.

Starring Vikrant Massey, the biographical drama film 12th Fail emerged as a sleeper hit. The Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial is now all set to have its world television premiere on Sony Max this Thursday, February 29 at 8 PM. Vikrant himself shared the news. 

On Wednesday, Vikrant took to his social media handle and dropped a post to give details of 12th Fail’s world television premiere. “For the first time, making my way to your TV screens as Manoj,” he wrote in the caption. In no time, the comments section was flooded with moviegoers expressing their excitement to watch the film. 

Speaking of the film, 12th Fail was released in October 2023 in theaters. Later, the film made its OTT debut on December 29 on Disney+ Hotstar. Despite its OTT release, the film continued to run in theaters. Besides Vikrant, the film also stars  Medha Shankar, Anant V Joshi, Anshumaan Pushkar, and Priyanshu Chatterjee. It won five awards at the 69th Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor (Critics). 

The month of February of 2024 was quite happening for the actor. For the unversed, the news of 12th Fail’s world television premiere comes a day after Vikrant shared the first glimpse of his other project, The Sabarmati Report. The film is inspired by true events that took place in the Sabarmati Express on the morning of 27 February 2002, near the Godhra railway station in the Indian state of Gujarat, in The Sabarmati Report. It is slated to release on May 3, 2024. 

In addition to this, Vikrant also welcomed his first child in February. A couple of days ago, he shared a photo of the newborn to announce his name, Vardaan.
