Girls Ride. Returned today from a fantastic ride on the 1095 Pai road. Three lady riders. Lots of fun and a stop off to enjoy Mok Fa Waterfall. Some heavy rain at intervals. Wasnt a problem. Premier Pro Editing 4 - Abstract section 2

1) and 2) The next part of this abstract section of the film is footage taken in Cheltenham of cherry blossoms. I liked this shot because the colour of the blossoms was an eye catching contrast against the blue sky and the shot ties in with the similar tree shot taken at the Bear PIt in Brisol. As the music takes a more down-beat tone I overlaid the footage with another, close up shot, of the blossoms in a contrasting colour to make the image darker. 

3) and 4) Inspired by Hans Richter I have a multiple screens in the frame consisting of four different compositions of a waterrfall in Snowdonia, two of which are playing in reverse. I chose this footage because of its engaging contrast of white waterfall against the dark rock. Due to this contrast I decided to invert the footage in time to the music.

5), and 6) Overlaying macro footage of my eye with bubbles against a red brick wall creates another abstract scene, similar to the Hans Richter’s use of close up eyes in his 19th century films. 

7) I filmed this shot through a lens ball on the floor at the enterance to one of the tunnels, capturing people walk past and get disorted in the glass. The distorted view confuses the audience’s perception and when coupled with the footage moving forwards and backwards in time the result is a disorientating surreal effect, as if the viewer is travelling through a portal - the Bear Pit tunnels.

8), 9) and 10) As it leads up to the end of the film the music gains in tempo. I have repeated a clip of Alex walking against a vibrant graffiti background, speeding him up as the music reaches a climax and curts harshly to a wide angle panning shot of Mount Snowdon in vibrant red and pink, artificial infrared, colours. I chose this sequencing of clips to ceate a strong contrast between the concrete of the city location and the natural environment.
