So I’m finally listening to *A Certain Point Of View: The Empire Strikes Back*.
Of course, I immediately went to “Rendezvous Point” because I needed my Wedge Antilles story. An’ while I STILL WILL NOT EXCEPT HOBBIE DYING, I really admire how much Jason Fry is a fellow X-Wing book fan, SO MANY details from Gate being Wedge’s astromech at Hoth, to Wes’s personality, it was a pleasant surprise, plus Marc Thompson’s excellent narration just as he does for the X-Wing Legends series. Beautiful!

I was reading There is always another by Mckenzie Lee because of a meme I had seen and WHAT THE FUCK HAD I FORGOTTEN HOW SAAD THIS THING WAS. I think I read it a while ago but Jesus how hard it hit me this time, in addition to breaking your soul, he will also grab you with a knife and cut your hand and then throw lemon and salt at you, it's also super funny! so I made a compilation with the best parts of the best characterization of Obi Wan that came out of Lucas Films. and with shit quality
Let's start with obi-dad kenobi being a single dad to an unwanted kid !

Browsing Wookieepedia as one usually does and found this in the section about the "Wait For It" story in the From A Certain Point of View series, this time focused on Boba Fett during the events of ESB:
Boba and the other bounty hunters were given permission to use any means necessary to capture Skywalker's friends, as long as they were captured alive. Vader singled out Boba and warned against disintegrations, to which Fett responded as the Sith Lord wished.
Fett then returned to the hangar bay with Bossk and Dengar. As the trio discussed the matter, Dengar smirked and suggested that they team up to track Solo together, to which Bossk sarcastically remarked that "Krayt's Claw lives again." Fett turned down the suggestion, stating that he needed the credits, though he wished luck to his fellow bounty hunters, before they went their separate ways.
THEY CAN'T KEEP TEASING US LIKE THIS THE MOTHERFUCKERS

Name: Chase Wilsorr Pronouns: he/him Era: Rebellion Appears in: The Empire Strikes Back; From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back
Chase Wilsorr was a young, anxious, clumsy human man who delivered supplies around the Rebellion's Echo Base on Hoth. He knew every inch of the tunnels in Echo Base and used that knowledge to help people escape during the Empire's attack. He was romantically attracted to Jordan Smythe, a tauntaun handler, and the two shared a kiss as they successfully escaped the Imperial attack.
Check out Chase's profile video here!
Full profile under the cut:
Chase Wilsorrwas a member of the Rebellion who served as a kitchen hand and supply runner in Echo Base on the planet Hoth. He was an incredibly hard worker, but unfortunately, his clumsiness and anxiety held him back from what he considered the “important” jobs, like a soldier or sentry. He couldn’t even pass basic training. Chase’s rejections and demotions really lowered his confidence, even when others tried to reassure him that he was an important part of the Rebellion.
Even though Chase wasn’t a fan of his role, he was a great supply runner. He had helped construct the tunnels through the base when the Rebellion first arrived – and yes, he may have accidentally set his ion cannon a little too high and created a blast that got him demoted, but the point is that Chase was familiar with all of the tunnels in the base. Since he knew every nook and cranny and unused hallway, Chase was one of the fastest supply runners on Hoth.
Chase had a crush on Jordan Smythe, a handsome new tauntaun handler who valued Chase just as he was. Chase got super flustered around Jordan. He tripped over his words and blurted things out without thinking. On his caf runs – aka coffee runs – Chase kept Jordan’s drink in a separate thermos so that it would still be hot when he got to the tauntaun stables.
When the Empire attacked Echo Base, Chase’s “useless” skills ended up saving lives. Thanks to his knowledge of the tunnels, he was able to avoid cave-ins and lead countless medical workers, foot soldiers, communications officers, refugees, and more away from danger and to the evacuation shuttles. Chase put his own life on the line to go find Jordan, who was still in the tauntaun stables. Chase directed Jordan – and his tauntaun, Sunshine – through the base and just barely made it onto the last evacuation ship, the Bright Hope. As they flew away, Chase finally worked up the courage and asked Jordan for a kiss – a request that was happily accepted.
Though we learn about his story in “A Good Kiss” by C. B. Lee in From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back, Chase actually first appeared in the film! You can see him cut between Leia and Han during their hallway argument when Han decides to leave.

Thoughts on the book: The empire strikes back: From a certain point of view.
This is an anthology series of short stories written by like 40+ authors written within the context of the ESB. So, I’m going to be cataloguing each story here and my thoughts about them so I don’t forget them.
Eyes of the Empire by Keirsten White
This one follows the probe droid operator that finds the hoth base. She has a romantic heart and uses the probe droids to be her eyes on the galaxy. She realizes that the empire only brings destruction and despair to the people of the galaxy and deletes forage of degobah from the empire’s databanks.
Hunger by Mark Oshiro
Notably this one is also narrated by Sam Witwer on the audiobook version. This one is about the Wampa that captures Luke and it legitimately almost got me to cry! After the Wampa captures Luke, he looks upon this creature that he has captured and wonders “Does he still have a family?” And that makes me insane because no!! You’re both alike and similar but circumstances prevent you from understanding each other!! Great story 10/10.
Ion Control by Emily Skrutskie
The one follows a hoth ion control tech that is responsible for opening and closing the ion shield to evacuate ships off of hoth base. This also features the techs having a betting pool on when Han and Liea will drop the “I hate you” act. She stays until the celling collapses, killing some of her other techs, but she stays behind to make sure the ships evacuate safely.
A Good Kiss by C. B. Lee
This one is about the gayest most useless rebel on hoth base who listens to daily affirmation podcasts and is a kitchen runner (Basically he brings food and caf to those that can’t leave their stations). He resents Han Solo and other rebellion heroes because he’s not handsome or talented like they are. He is the guy who walks through Han and Leia’s hallway argument! But because he is a runner he knows echo bases secret tunnels and passages so during the evacuation when the main tunnels are blocked off he manages to bring a lot of rebels to safety! I love him.
Bonus: He also delivers Caf to the Ion Control tech from the previous story.
She Will Keep Them Warm by Delilah S. Dawson
This one is from the POV of the Tauntaun that Han rides out to find Luke on. She forms a bond with Leia as she recognizes that , like her, she is the matriarch of her herd. Cool introspection.
Heroes of the Rebellion by Amy Radcliffe
A rebel propagandist tries to secure interviews with the rebellion’s heroes (Han, Luke, Leia) and finds that actually everyone around her is a hero after she is saved and evacuated from echo base.
Rouge Two by Gary Witta
This one is from the perspective of Dax. I don’t like this one it made me sad 😢. Dax is very gay for commander Skywalker and then dies.
Bonus: Dax grew up on an imperial controlled world where prisoners are forced to be in firing squads, which is why he doesn’t want to talk about why he’s such a good gunner.
Kendal by Charles Yu
This one is from the perspective of Admiral Ozzle, you remember that guy? The one that gets choked out by vader while he’s facetiming him? While this is also a “final thoughts before he dies” one and he realizes that he sacrificed a boy named Kendal to the empire for nothing. Him. His name is Kendal.
Against All Odds by R. F. Kuang
From the perspective of a rebel shoulder in the trenches on Hoth. Honestly, this is the first one that I can’t say i found something interesting in, and nothing much happens except the walkers coming closer.
———
I will continue this once I have gotten through more of the book!

So I’m finally listening to *A Certain Point Of View: The Empire Strikes Back*.
And “Hunger” about the Wampa who attacks Luke is WILD! Sam Witwer, voice of Maul in TCW and Starkiller in TFU, is the narrator, and he makes the Wampa have so much emotion and fury and MADNESS in a way only he can. I LOVE IT.
And interesting detail is I think the Wampa had originally lived in an ancient humanoid structure that from his familiarity with a smell from Luke MIGHT hint that the structure could be one of the bases from The Old Republic MMO.

But the shades of [Anakin] in his son’s face catapult me back in time, and all the years I spent by Anakin’s side—fighting and teaching and laughing and arguing and nearly dying and saving each other over and over again—spill out across my mind. His stupid jokes. His bad posture. The way he never folded his tunics and forgot to put on socks. The wonder in his eyes the first time he saw the rain. His sideways smile, refusal to comb his hair or wake up on time, the way he picked the vegetables out of his meals, his aggravating habit of losing his lightsaber and staying up too late and the flush that crept up his neck when he was worked up, his mood betrayed by the high color in his cheeks. And now here is his son looking at me with those same flushed cheeks, caring too much about everything, and both my life and death would be so much easier if the Skywalkers didn’t care so damn much. How different this galaxy would be if the Skywalkers didn’t care so much.
