Lando did not do a single wrong thing in ESB. Sure, his actions sparked a terrible chain of events. But selling out Han to save an entire population of people? Not a wrong move. Will never, ever be a wrong move.

I don’t think enough people realize that Luke letting go after Vader’s proposal of “ruling the galaxy as father and son” wasn’t a simple matter of him being dramatic in his rejection. That is a despairing young man attempting suicide in the face of everything he knows being ripped out from under him. His entire, still nascent, worldview is completely shattered in this one moment. Let this sink in:

The greatest and most horrific war criminal in the Galaxy is his father.

His. Father.

Damn, George, you really didn’t have to go that hard in 19-freaking-80.
