monday thoughts

Fannish and other non-work nonsense in my head this week.

My restarted ACNH island, Lunasa. Hit me up if you're still playing or restart playing, I could use some active friends! I ... may have some amiibo on the way so I can have the villagers I want.

ESO fantasy capitalism week - er, Zeal of Zenithar event stuff. I'm in two guilds with traders, and they ended up in Belkarth and Vivec City this week. Which means MILLIONS OF GOLD. I can't keep my store stocked, things sell while I'm still posting other sales. I've completely run through my alt character who had been stuffed full of motifs since the anniversary event. Time to buy all the gold-based houses I don't already have!!

Baldur's Gate 3 on Thursday!! Am I vaguely considering asking for Friday off, if no meetings get scheduled? Maybe!

ACNH Skeleton Island Day 3

Construction on the museum has started, I'll FINALLY be able to donate the fish and bugs that have been piling on my yard, I basically have my own museum at this point tbh

I FINALLY have my house, which is pretty epic no lie

Got the stuff I ordered in the mail, also got Gulliver's gift in the mail, which was... A 'pigtail'... Thanks. I'll keep my Wario hat.

HHA also gave me a recipe for a wooden end table

Did some very mild home decorating, extremely early work in progress here, my house is basically in the pre-alpha stages here

I'll figure out a theme for my house eventually, I might end up falling back into the cabin motif that I always go with, or maybe not? Maybe I can try to get a mid century home equivalent

Oh yeah fun fact, you don't need to mash the A button to make crafting go faster, you just need to press it twice

The washed up bottle gave me a recipe for a wooden stool, nice, I guess

Gullivarrr washed up on shore, did his thing, while doing it I found a scallop, which summoned Pascal, he gave me a recipe for a mermaid wall, laid me the deep truth on me, feel this dawg "They say that yesterday is gone, but I can still see it on my calendar, maaan." That's a good one I like that one, actually, I do actually consider myself truthed today, anyway I found Gullivarrr's communicator, so now he can get back to his crew ARRRRR!!! ;) So I guess he'll mail me something tomorrow.

Went into the community center tent, and they're talking about building the shop, I pretty much mostly have the supplies for that so I'll be able to complete that immediately, then Nook gave me a miles ticket, I'll wait to use it for the three houses

Bought a garden lamp and K.K. Blues from Nook Shopping

I gave Timmy 30 pieces of regular and soft wood, he gave monochromatic-tile wall and aqua tile flooring in return, then I gathered and donated the iron nuggets, he gave more flooring, I used this flooring, kept the other two as I might end up having a use for them

Sheldon gave me some iron nuggets, cool

Got stung by bees while chopping wood

Then I donated my hard wood and then I plopped down the shop, Plucky gave me a shovel while doing this, anyway I put the shop basically right next to the community center

Then I talked to Tom Nook, aaaaand he didn't say anything about the person that wanted to move in, I guess my goal for today is to just get enough money to pay off my loan

Feline Fiesta - Infants might be taking up most of the attention right now, but I found myself wishing for more pet options! These might be a little bit silly but honestly, I'm sick of the same old basic litter box and I bet you are too. This one cleans itself, but you can let everybody know that you're a tidy person by staging this very fancy litter scoop right next to it. The litter mat also makes a great kitchen or bath rug, and I couldn't stop myself from recreating one of my favorite plants from ACNH. Seven items total, and the non-functional items are base game compatible! Pet items require Cats & Dogs pack.

maybe i’m just a hater because i’m tired of the hourly music in acnh but i feel like the hourly music in acnl was way better

Dragons and Owls

It's been a while since I managed to post anything on here, but I'm back with a little post on a couple of projects I've managed to complete over the past few weeks.

First up is Phoebe, a gorgeous Elemental Air Dragon (pattern by CraftyIntentions). The pattern was a little bit fiddly in places, and I had a bit of a nightmare with the wire, but I'm really please with her. It was a good challenge!

Next up is this African Flower Owl (a Heidi Bears pattern). I had so much making this little guy; it was a great project for working on in the evenings as I could make a couple of motifs each day. I also learned a couple of new techniques during the course of this project (the join-as-you-go method and foundation crochet); hopefully they'll come in handy in future projects. He still needs a name though, so any suggestions, send them my way!

I haven't really touched Sophie's Universe recently, particularly with the warmer weather, but I have now got the book so hopefully it'll be a little bit more convenient to get on with. I'm currently working on a crochet banner, which I'll share with you once it's finished (if I remember, that is...).

Games wise, I'm taking a break from ACNH, but I have recently made a lot of progress in Dragon Quest 11 (?); I've just got past the mermaid bit. That's kinda been put on hold at the minute though, because I've been playing A LOT of Spiritfarer.

Exam season is coming up so I won't promise to keep on top of posting, but I hope you're all doing well!
