I know it’s been said but I find it so weird when people demonise Dora. The one interaction that we get with her- the REAL her- in the whole game, she is extremely patient, despite the fact that Harry is calling her in the middle of the night and asking creepo shit like ‘are you sleeping naked’. We can infer through context clues that this has probably happened multiple times before, and yet she still knows no signs of ill-will towards Harry- she just seems tired and concerned.
And it would be completely within her right to be angry at him for harassing her, as well! Knowing how volatile Harry can be, perhaps she even learned through fear not to confront him. And yet, there still seems to be this perception that, out of the both of them, DORA was the abusive one, despite all evidence pointing to the contrary! It’s not even that I don’t think she wasn’t at least slightly abusive, given Harry’s disabilities and their class differences, but what I am saying is that it was likely mutual, and that, out of the two of them, Harry was worse.
Their relationship probably got horrible and toxic towards the end, of that I have no doubt. What I don’t get is why the fandom seems to believe that Harry, as he currently is, is in any way capable of viewing the relationship objectively. There’s ample evidence that he was violent, frequently misogynistic, and that the experience gap between him and Dora was significant, and yet people still take his worst thoughts at face value. That she’s a ‘war criminal’, that’s she’s a goddess- people seem to think Harry’s deification of her is the main issue, and not the opposite; his virulent hatred towards Dora, towards ‘Revacholian women’.
It just boggles me that people are so willing to believe that Harry was the only one truly hurt- that Dora’s decision to leave was made lightly. We don’t know exactly what happened, and what glimpses we do get are filtered horribly through Harry’s grief, but they were in a relationship for more than a decade! They were planning to get married! I don’t think Dora just up and left for Mirova one day- the way the dream conversation goes seems to suggest they hadn’t been together for a while.
There are so, so many things said during the final dream that are probably just Harry’s self-hatred masquerading as Dora/Dolores- and while I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of it did come from Dora, at other points in their relationship, I think it’s pretty obvious that the final dream is meant to be a confused muddle of Harry’s memories and grief. Why else would she appear as Dolores Dei? But, while no one ever explicitly says it, I feel like a lot of people want to believe that the way things are during the last dream is how they were in real life. That Dora really was cold and cruel to Harry- when in real life she appears as just the opposite, despite what he puts her through.

“do the hardest task first”
no. just… no.
hot take: this doesn’t work for people with adhd (in my experience/from what i’ve heard from other people with adhd in my life). i recommend doing the easy/moderately difficult stuff first, that way you can convince yourself that it’s all going to be this easy and undemanding. then hyper-focus will kick in because your brain is like, “yeah, we can do this, we’ve got this.” then, before you know it, you’ve completed both the easy tasks and the hard tasks while hyperfocusing.
like, on a serious note, it’s always been easier for me to convince myself to get the most difficult tasks done when i’m already working/in the working frame of mind, not when i’m laying in bed or sitting on the couch, mindlessly scrolling through stuff on my phone, and struggling to start at all.
if the choice comes down to you not starting at all or starting with the easiest task first (which, for me, it often does), always, always pick starting with the easiest task first. sometimes you need a small victory, a little bit of an accomplishment, to give you the courage to take on bigger challenges.

i fundamentally think that it’s funnier when taylor swift haters are informed about the things she’s doing. like there’s making fun of a popular artist which is a time honored tradition, and plenty of legitimate critiques of her as a public figure and the private jet and all that. but then you get people making up fake lyrics when the real ones are much funnier. i know in my heart of hearts that if the right person got a hold of the song evermore which has the lyric “motion capture put me in a bad light” which is undoubtedly a reference to her role in cats 2019 the internet would never be the same

the dr fandom cant handle wlw ships in any other context than background fluff with no depth
i like sakuraoi and tsumioda ect but they always get woobified and mellowed out like did they SEE 1-4???
aoi did not pull all that to get sidelined as a supportive background lesbian in your ishimondo fanfic
and don’t get me wrong. my girls need a break sometimes fluff is great i don’t have a problem with it. but it’s the constant sidelining of wlw ships in favour of het/mlm ships in pretty much any fandom that gets to me.
and how wlw ships are only acceptable in the community when they don’t have any dysfunction or toxicity, and if the ship does have even the slightest hint of the above qualities it is either mellowed out to the point of being unrecognisable or dumped on with thinly veiled misogyny and homophobia
and when i say slightest hint i mean the literally slightest hint. like the girls will argue once and the fandom will label the ship toxic while shipping. fucking kuzupeko or something.
wlw ships are seen almost entirely as a way to get female characters out of the way of mlm ships. in het ships the female character is a tool to develop the male character. they show significantly less depth and probably dies to forward the male character’s development (sound familiar?)
in any situation female characters are characterised by their relations to male characters. a female character’s (usually romantic, or at least interpreted as such) relationship with a male character is their defining characteristic. if said female character is in a wlw relationship they are reduced to their most basic traits while male characters are explored and given depth, and exist in the story only to offer support to the male characters.
i haven’t even mentioned how female characters must be in a relationship to be even remotely relevant in a story, but that’s a rant for another time.
grrah the way that female characters mirrors how wlw ships are treated by the community, and that characters/ships that aren’t completely perfect and deemed acceptable by the community are dumped on by the larger dr community while worse ships or characters are welcomed because they happen to contain a male character is gonna be my 13th reason istg.
anyways this rant is getting long but in summary danganronpa fans hate women and they hate wlw relationships that they can’t jerk off to.

I know it isn’t always the case, but I really dislike when people get up-in-arms over “what ifs” and without ever having or being privy to knowing what’s going on behind the scenes. if hangman getting thrown into the windshield means he’s back off television… how do we know for sure it wasn’t hangmans decision to take time off??? how do we know for sure the man didn’t want to spend quality holiday time with his family??? how do we know for sure he didn’t tweak something in the death match and wants to spend some extra time recuperating??? everyone always jumps to the immediate negative conclusion when someone’s off for awhile, and I get it, when it’s your fave and you don’t get to see them it sucks. I miss hangman when he isn’t consistently on my tv. but, the dude is a human being, until we know for sure he doesn’t want time off for himself, maybe we don’t go pointing fingers at every shape that moves to blame them for why he’s gone.

we need to bring back muse diaries. I feel like I need to share a daily monologue of these lil bastards running around in my head and every terrible thought they’ve caused.

I think we can all agree that watching the cast of The Quarry getting grilled by the cops Until Dawn style would’ve been INFINITELY more interesting than that hellish podcast (then again, that’s a low bar 👁👁).
Until Dawn had PLENTY of flaws don’t get me wrong, but the credit sequence was fucking genius. You’re just sat listening to all these poor kids recapping the most horrifying experience anyone can go through, and you can see exactly how much they’ve changed since the beginning. Just imagine the interactions we would’ve gotten out of it! WAY more closure story-wise, and it could’ve been used to drive home the consequences of your actions through different dialogue options based on player choice.
I liked how it was used before and I think it could’ve given us further insight into our characters, the newspaper clippings could’ve been used in conjunction to communicate the outcome they faced after the interrogation and how the evidence collecting mechanic effects the ending.
