Guess who saw Saltburn?? It was great. I love a film that feels this delightfully self-indulgent. I thought I'd want to write fic, but what is there to add to what's already in the movie, really? Couple spoilery thoughts beneath the cut. I enjoy full-frontal Barry Keoghan as much as the next gal, but
I wasn't totally satisfied with the end. If you compare it to The Talented Mr. Ripley, where he thinks he's gotten away with it and in his twisted way has someone he cares about, and then he has to destroy that, the "happy" ending of Saltburn is kind of meh. I thought Farley would show up at the end, or the butler would do something. I think one fic I would read would be Farley showing up after the end of the movie - what does he think of Oliver, how does Oliver try to manipulate him, does it work. As for fic I could write, it's not like I couldn't write about Oliver putting on Felix's underwear or trying to make out with a girl who just went down on him at a party, but like, is that really needed after my man fucked a grave? Generally I'm into adding filth to canon, but there's not that much more filth to add, and for that I truly applaud this film.

Here's an unusual property for work & play- basically you're buying a giant 40 foot diameter sphere in the desert of Yucca, Arizona. The dome is currently a ''UFO museum'' open to the public. BUT- A new project with storage, rv park, and an MX Professional Park for all ages will be developed right next to this ONE OF A KIND FACILITY! $1.375M. Terms are cash (?) or the owner will carry the loan. (So, in other words, it doesn't qualify for a bank loan.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The property has a C-store and a fully operational restaurant called ''Rocket Burger.''
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They don't specify if the things in the museum come with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know, there doesn't seem to be much in here. A few displays, t-shirts for sale, souvenirs, and a couple arcade games.
Tumblr media
A new exhibit under construction.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Rocket Burger facility is nice. It has a full professional kitchen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I don't know, it looks like a failing business. Maybe if and when they build the other facilities it will pick up, but right now it looks pretty dead.
Tumblr media
The property measures 2.19 acres. There is some kind of large business and housing development nearby.
Tumblr media
But, the rest is vastly desolate.

Oh! I know what I should do! Just woke up and had a thought,
@alamos-garden-lover does Alamos Garden have souvenirs, I should get something. Ooh! Uh, how hard are lilies to grow, maybe I could try to grow one once I'm in Goldenrod and settled in a little better

Lampasas, Texas:
The clouds left us in suspense, but when they parted at the last second we got a glimpse of the so-called diamond ring.
The crowd gave the black sun a standing ovation.
“Is this a dream?” a four-year-old asked.
Crickets chirped.
Some children cried; some squealed with delight.
We bought souvenir T-shirts at Alamo Coffee on the way out of town.
Van Alstyne, Texas:
The horses in the pasture next to the Airbnb stopped grazing and paced in a confused circle.
“Are the birds being weird?” we kept asking one another.
Then the air suddenly got very gray.
When the light came back it felt like the smells—of grass and spring dirt—came back, too, even though I hadn’t noticed they were gone.

Funko Lays Off Original Mondo Employees, Ending an Era
Tumblr media
Fans of pop culture collectibles should be saddened by Funko's decision to fire nearly half of Mondo's 40 or so employees. Mondo is a collectible firm based in Austin, Texas, known for its alternative movie posters, collectible toys, vinyl music releases, and other products. Mondo, which was formerly a division of the Alamo Drafthouse, was acquired by Funko in June 2022. According to Andrew Permaulter, the company's CEO at the time, "Our goal is to build the Mondo brand. Not making Mondo into Funko is our aim. As Mitch Putnam, Rob Jones, and senior creative director Eric Garza were among those let go, it is unclear what the current objective is. They worked closely together to produce the majority of the company's posters, which is anticipated to continue under new management. The toy and record sections of Mondo are still present. As of the time of publication, Funko had not responded to io9's request for a comment. Putnam and Jones played a crucial role in finding emerging artists and assisting them in producing work that increased both their own and the brand's popularity since Mondo's founding in 2004. A few years later, Garza joined them, helping to forge a core creative team that distinguished Mondo from the majority of other pop culture poster firms and fostered fervent loyalty among its artists. The firm's cache increased tremendously over time, as evidenced by its infamously quick poster sellouts. For a while, the company even ran its own conference, MondoCon, as well as its own gallery in Austin. Fans from all over the world would attend that event to purchase posters, artwork, and souvenirs while also taking in the culture that Mondo's devotion to its work generated. Nevertheless, that time is passed. Putnam, Jones, and Garza's departure begs the question of whether those musicians' fans will continue to visit Mondo. Daniel Danger, an artist who has worked with Mondo since 2006, questioned, "Do they not grasp they just lost their whole artist base?" Danger thinks that most artists will be put off from collaborating with the company by the action. He said, "I want to work with Rob, Mitch, and Eric." They're from Mondo. If they're not there, Funko is the only option. Danger was discussing upcoming Mondo initiatives with the team as recently as last week, including San Diego Comic-Con and a potential screening event in 2019. As a result, the action seemed unexpected to him. These proposals, which involved some extremely well-known estates, are now in his opinion "dead in the water." Several artists shared similar emotions and expressed concern about the state of unreleased projects as well as reluctance to collaborate with the company in the future. One artist who wished to remain anonymous said, "To me, the core of Mondo's artistic vision lay with the personnel that was let go, and I'm anxious about ongoing and future planned projects continuing with the same enthusiasm and support." "I'd love to keep working with Mondo, but if they turn into a pale replica of what they once were, I'm sure many of us artists in the scene will move to wherever creative staff shifts to in the future." G/O Media could receive a commission. According to several sources, Mondo's employees have been operating normally since the acquisition and preparing projects for the future. However, 10% of the company was laid off when Funko revealed losses in its most recent quarterly earnings, with a large portion coming from Mondo. Fans of alternative movie posters should note that Mondo is no longer, despite the company's lucrative toy and record lines continuing for the time being. Read the full article

Take Your Kids To A Historical Landmark In San Antonio Today
When it comes to taking your children on a trip, there are many great places to go. However, I have found that the best place is historical landmarks in San Antonio. These sites are very educational and fun for kids of all ages. There are so many things to do at these locations that you will not be able to see everything in one day!
Tumblr media
The Alamo This is an amazing place to take your kids. It will be very educational for them and they can learn a lot about history and Texas.
The Alamo is an amazing place to take your kids. It will be very educational for them and they can learn a lot about history and Texas. There are many activities for children at the Alamo. The Alamo has a gift shop that sells toys, candy, books, and souvenirs of all kinds. They also have special areas where you can get a picture taken in front of a backdrop depicting the battle scenes at the Alamo or one of many other historical events that took place there during its existence as a fortified mission complex from 1718 until 1836 (when it was destroyed by cannon fire during the Battle of San Antonio de Bexar).
There are also many historical reenactments performed throughout each day including demonstrations on musketry or blacksmithing techniques (hand forging horseshoes), cooking period food on open fires in authentic Dutch ovens, etc., depending upon what time period is being reenacted at any given moment throughout each day's schedule of events along with live music performances! This may seem like it would not be interesting for young children but I assure you that my own child did enjoy these things immensely because he loves history as much as any adult does so please don't hesitate to bring your kids here if they're interested in learning more about their country's past."
San Fernando Cathedral Another great place to take your kids. The cathedral has a rich history and it is an amazing sight to see.
Another great place to take your kids. The cathedral has a rich history and it is an amazing sight to see.
It was built in 1738, making it one of the oldest cathedrals in Texas and also one of the first churches built by Europeans when they came here from Mexico. It's a beautiful building, with colorful stained glass windows, arches, towers and lots of religious art inside. There are also changing exhibits from time to time that showcase different items from the cathedral's collection or other historical artifacts found in San Antonio area churches.
Natural Bridge Caverns A great place to take your kids if they like exploring new things. There is so much to do at the caverns and your kids will have a blast!
Natural Bridge Caverns is a great place to take your kids if they like exploring new things. There is so much to do at the caverns and your kids will have a blast!
The Natural Bridge Caverns are located in San Antonio, TX and it's only about an hour away from Austin. To get there take I-35 south towards exit number 279 or 281. You will see signs for Natural Bridge Caverns along I-35 as you are driving. The cost of admission is $19/person which includes all activities and access to all areas of the caverns including all hiking trails, zip lines, ropes courses, etc.
There are several great times to go! We went during our spring break vacation this year because we already had plans with friends in Austin but when we went into town the first time we didn't know what else was going on so we decided against going inside because there were so many families around us that made us feel uncomfortable about bringing our own children there (and rightfully so). If you want something quieter with fewer people then try going when school isn't in session; if not then still consider going on Tuesday evenings before 5pm when everyone else has left for work."
Tower of the Americas This is the best place for kids in San Antonio! Your children will love all the fun attractions here including the tower itself, IMAX film and more!
The Tower of the Americas is a must-see destination for kids in San Antonio. The IMAX film at the top is a fun and educational way to learn about Texas history, while the tower itself offers amazing views of the city. The children's museum is also located here, so you can make a day out of it!
If you are looking for something fun to do with your children, then take them on a historical landmark in San Antonio today!
If you are looking for something fun to do with your children, then take them on a historical landmark in San Antonio today!
You can visit the Alamo and get an interactive experience of what life was like during this time period. Your kids will love walking through the house where Davy Crockett once lived and seeing how people lived during that time period. You can also explore other sites such as Mission San Jose or Mission Concepcion, both of which offer a hands-on experience of what life was like when they were first built by Native Americans thousands of years ago.
Children love history because it is full of adventures, stories and amazing discoveries about our past! These locations are perfect for families who want to learn more about their heritage while having fun together.
There are lots of great historic landmarks in San Antonio and there is something for everyone. If you want to go on a historical landmark tour, then check out the Alamo or San Fernando Cathedral. If you want to explore new things with your children, then take them to Natural Bridge Caverns or Tower of the Americas!

the most important thing that happened in the alamo drafthouse lotr20 q&a was when colbert asked everyone what they took as a souvenir from filming and everyone listed off various meaningful costume pieces & props (all of which seem to be in attics?!  hello???)
and then it was viggo’s turn and he was like. yes i did take something home.  specifically i have one Very Special Green Rock
and not to harp on how perfect the casting is but. he literally just found his own elfstone.  and also knows that when you find a good rock you don’t need anything else

5 San Francisco Attractions You Can Drive To Now
The most iconic San Francisco attractions are just a drive away from wherever you are in the city. So, why not get behind the wheel right now and drop by?
Driving yourself around San Francisco is fun, but be aware of the steep ascents and rush hour traffic. Parking in San Francisco city wouldn't be a problem; try to limit street parking and go for an affordable parking lot instead.
Ready for your self-drive city tour? Here are some of the must-visit San Francisco attractions for your itinerary:
Golden Gate Bridge
Can you imagine a San Francisco without the iconic Golden Gate Bridge? Spanning across the strait of Golden Gate, the 1.7-mile wonder of the modern world is on every traveler's wish list.
Did you know this San Francisco landmark was once called "the bridge that couldn't be built"? At least 11 workers lost their lives in the four years it took to build the bridge connecting San Francisco's Presidio and the Marin headlands. Braving the treacherous tides, rocks, wind, and fog, the single-suspension span was finally opened in 1937 and has since attracted visitors from around the world. Its twin towers stand 746 feet high, and the sturdy cables supporting the suspended roadway are over 7000 feet long. The magnificent structure is awe-inspiring no matter how many times you see it – from near or afar.
Golden hour at the Golden gate bridge is not to be missed – early morning visits are a must, at least once. Pedestrians and bicyclists are allowed on the bridge's sidewalks during daylight hours. If you've got time, take a walk across the bridge but remember it is almost a 2-mile walk one-way. The view is worth it – keep your fingers crossed for a clear day so that you can see all the way to East Bay.
Driving across the bridge toward Sausalito is free, but you'll have to pay a toll on the way back. Limited parking is available at the north and south Vista Points; have a backup plan to leave your car at a San Francisco parking garage in Presidio.
Golden Gate Park
It is just a short drive from the grand vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge to the gardens, lakes, and museums at this massive urban park. The thousand-acre Golden Gate Park is brimming with some of the most-visited San Francisco attractions; one visit wouldn't be enough to experience it all.
The Conservatory of Flowers is home to rare tropical blooms from around the world, while the Japanese Tea Garden welcomes you with a 1.5-ton Buddha, pagodas, and a moon bridge. The San Francisco Botanical Gardens will transport you to the Mediterranean or the Central American Rainforests instantly. The California Academy of Sciences highlights immersive experiences like coral reef dives, planetarium shows, and Penguin feedings. A ride on the newly-opened The SkyStar Wheel at the Music Concourse is a great way to see the park grounds from above. Guided Segway tours can reveal Golden Gate park hidden gems like the Shakespear Garden and the Lilly Pond. You can also rent bikes to explore the park and even take a trip up to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Driving down to the Golden Gate Park is easy, and you'll find plenty of San Francisco parking lots around. Free parking is available throughout the park, but it is minimal considering the number of visitors the Golden Gate Park attractions host throughout the day. You can conveniently find a parking spot at a garage nearby and avoid the risks of street parking in San Francisco. Go online or download a San Francisco parking app to find safe and affordable parking deals.
Fisherman's Warf
Historical ships, the famous fishing fleet, sea lions basking in the sun, souvenir shopping, cauldrons of crab, sourdough French bread... the sights and smells of Fisherman's Warf is a unique San Francisco experience you must add to your itinerary.
Pier 39 is undisputedly the most-visited place in San Francisco -- shopping, dining, and postcard views take it to the #1 spot on San Francisco city tours. Located along the city's historic Embarcardero, you can fill your camera rolls with the San Francisco skyline, Golden Gate, Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, and Angel Island from here. At Aquarium of the Bay, get acquainted with local marine life as you walk through clear acrylic tunnels holding up 700,000 gallons of water and 20,000 animals. More family entertainment awaits in the heart of Fisherman's Warf -- tour the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum on Jefferson Street and the San Francisco Dungeon next door.
You can find your way to Fisherman's Warf without any trouble from the East, North, or South Bay – ‘100 Jefferson Street' on the GPS should guide you. Plenty of parking is also available near Pier 39; check Bay Street, Powell Street, and Green Street for cheap parking garages near Fisherman's Warf.
Alamo Square
The "Painted Ladies" of Alamo Square are San Francisco's all-time stars! You might have even seen them on the 90s sitcom 'Full House.'
The "postcard row" at Hayes and Steiner Street is one of the most photographed locations in the city. Elegant Queen Ann era Victorian houses standing tall against a contrasting background of downtown skyscrapers in the distance – you don't want to miss that on your Instagram feed. You could also try a home tour or spend some time on the green square and take in all that beauty.
Drive to the corner of Hayes and Steiner, and you'll find plenty of parking on the streets in the neighborhood. You can also lookup San Francisco parking garages in the area for a safer option.
Union Square
The San Francisco downtown hub for shopping and entertainment is a favorite among visitors and residents alike. The public plaza is surrounded by hotels, restaurants, upscale boutiques, art galleries, and theatres.
The Union Square owes its name to Thomas Starr King rallies and Union Army support during the Civil War. At the center of the historical California landmark stands the Dewey Monument with Nike's statue – the Greek goddess of Victory.
There's a lot to explore and experience at Union Square and can be done on foot. Leave your car at a secure downtown parking lot on Powell Street, Post Street, or Stockton Street and take a stroll down to the square.

This is the very worst pun, and I am astonished no one had apparently made it yet. Based on an actual Alamo souvenir.
