So you’re gonna tell me that i already want to kill myself because of Albus bashers and now i discover that there are also Grindeldore shippers that hate Albus ?! What’s the point ?Especially that you like Gellert that is like his dark twin and would probably kill you for prefer him to Albus.

AU where albus and gellert play d&d instead of trying to become benevolent overlords

they’re doing it completely wrong

they don’t have a DM

it’s just the two of them having philosophical arguments about alignments and goals and shit

gellert is a chaotic good human paladin because nothing says “recipe for “””benevolent””” dictator” like a holy knight crusading in the name of good & order but with their own moral compass at the helm

albus still hasn’t decided on his character but he’s got a draft that says lawful good wizard on it

“gellert you can’t just play yourself that’s not the rules” he says

“look who’s talking” gellert says and writes twelve pages of manifest for his paladin

“shut your mouth” says albus

“make me” says gellert

which is how the fourth d&d session in a row ends with the banging on the table

“you aren’t seriously going to name your wizard merlin,” gellert says, “dude wasn’t that great and you’re all about honour and shit”

“no see, it’s a subversion, the real merlin was a corrupt asshole but this one will not stand for treachery, he’s like, balanced, dude, he believes in the greater good”

“so did the real merlin and look where that got him, text book example of plagiarism–”

“gellert your paladin is literally on the road to becoming a supreme overlord who thinks taxes are bullshi–”

“your wizard is literally looking for loopholes in the law–”

and that’s how the ninth d&d session in a row ends with banging on the table

they finally finish building their characters (it takes eighteen sessions and two boxes of condoms to get there)

it’s world building time

“we clearly need a society that promotes prosperity through equal opportunity for all,” says gellert, pushing his 21 page manifest at albus

“we can’t start out with a perfect society or there’ll be no point to the game,” albus argues, and pushes an extremely detailed hand drawn map, two books on law systems and his graduate dissertation (”law in fiction: downfalls of corrupt governments in epic fantasy“) at gellert

gellert counters with his phd proposal (”an unstoppable force meets an immovable object: anarchy as a democratic system”) and the offer of a blowjob every morning for a week

albus pushes aside the d&d for a moment to give gellert some critical commentary on his phd proposal (”no really, gellert, you can’t meme your way into academia”)

twelve years later they still haven’t finished a single campaign but albus is a lecturer at a prestigious university, gellert is a ruthless solicitor, and they still bang on the table

*like ten or so years ago, after jkr announced that dumbledore was gay, i was looking up albusxgellert fanfic on fanfiction.net and there was one where old albus dumbledore, after he tells harry he sees a pair of socks in the mirror of erised and harry leaves, looks in the mirror and sees a young version of himself making out with a young gellert

*at some point i read a theory that albus saw his sister in the mirror and i took that as canon

*and then crimes of grindelwald fucking??? showed albus??? looking into the gotdamn mirror and seeing himself and gellert?!?! making??? a blood pact????

*like this fucking old ass fanfic foresaw the future?! i looked at my sis bc i told her about this fucking fanfiction like the other day and she was just ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) like?????????? im shook
