If Robin were to be flirty with Sun/Moon, I feel like Sun would be the type to flip it on it's head while Moon would be the type to tease and let them keep going.
Robin: *flirts with Sun* Sun: Oh really? *flirts even more in return*
This is the rivalry Dawn could have had.
Robin is a little cocky for sure, more oblivious than a brick sometimes for sure but flirting? Totally on the table - how serious said flirting is is another question entirely (big fan of this alt timeline Robin flirting for months until one day they realize they mean it and that flusters them more than Dawn's even flirtier response - but then they wonder if he might mean it too? Cardiac arrest on the mission, tragic /j)
So if instead of the ankle grabbing Dawn had simply started turning the taunting into flirts? Robin would have been on board for sure! Their dynamic allows for it, and with the many undercover missions they're 1) used to "fake" flirting and 2) have a valid excuse to hide behind. It becomes a new game of "lets not show him he got me with that" and also "lets see what gets him".
Dawn does have the absolute advantage here though, because what really flusters him aren't the big suave gestures, but rather the soft domestic little things. Small, genuine comments that don't carry the intention to fluster, that's what makes his sun rays spin if he isn't prepared to stop it (but if they catch that, and point it out, that's also a surefire way to make him hide behind his hands <3)
But on the job? Pre-reveal? There's barely any room for genuine comments like that (unless we have reached a point where Robin has let their guard down, too - which is actually an option here, similarly to the main au rivalry with Dusk. Takes a while, of course, but they could get there pre-reveal). Something like throwaway comments after missions of how impressive it was that he noticed this one small detail, without any snark and only accompanied by a little soft laugh? Maybe a glance back at him and a smile? He's melting and will need more than a second to come up with a suave response here. Hard to think over "I need to kiss them so bad it makes me look stupid" <3
Any other time though? Dawn finds out Robin may have a preference regarding sharpness early on, and no matter how clever the comment or how suave the flirt, he can just lean down and trace the line of their jaw with the featherlight touch of his claw, and the shiver that elicits is noticed by both. Robin deflects, and thus admits defeat, and as much of a shame it is that they pull away, Dawn already knows next time he'll also add a low whisper from behind sharp teeth. He's looking forward to how they'll struggle to keep their composure after that <3
Dusk? He's a goober deep down, and enjoys the process more than the end result. Why would he try to win flirting ("'Look at me, I'm Dawn, I'm trying to get a good grade in flirting, something that is both normal to want and possible to achieve' - this is what you sound like" - Sun loses it at him in their shared mind after that tease) when he could just enjoy being flirted with? If he flusters them too much, they stop and it's much more fun to keep going! His flirting is more playful anyhow, just an evolved form of the teases he directs at Robin from the start that cause less and less disgruntled reactions and more and more playful and outright flirty ones!
Off the job they both get just a tad softer, but at the core treat flirting the same. Sun in particular relies on the suave agent persona because he is trying to get a good grade in flirting, that's what he's supposed to be doing, right? It's a special joy for him when he finds out the little things can fluster Robin just as much, after their isolation deprived them of not only a social life, but of course also genuine compliments towards their person and not just their job (and even the latter is relatively rare). The boys very much enjoy flustering their little rival with genuine compliments, watching them bury their face in their hands and only groaning "Stooop, it's okay, I know" because "But do you? Best to tell you again <3"

While everyone seems to be worried about everyone's type, maybe even potential partners to be with, Akio was far too busy to worry about any of that during the job.
And by that it was him being thrown through a wall, seems like the Half-Marai has his work cutout for him. "Fuck- I hate working in Fortune territory." Akio grunted as he got up, looking over at the other much larger Vastayan running at him. "All because of good ol' captain can't handle others. Whatever, time to clean up this mess." He mentioned as he charged back at the enemy. This might take a while.

Thinking about soul permeability in regards to Cristabel and Mercymorn. Mainly the quasi religious reverence Mercy holds for John, despite everything, after ten thousand years of bitterness and regrets and sex parties. Mercy in Act 4 isn't just a woman who feels betrayed; she's a faithful who's lost her religion.
I've always been fascinated by the way Mercy acts around John; he's both her Emperor and sort of friends and her God, in a way that I don't think any of the other Lyctors ever come close to. They have personal loyalties to John, except when they don't, and a lovehate thing going on, but I don't think they truly worship him the way Mercy does, even when she's scolding him.
Pre TUG, I always thought that this was something Mercy did to honour Cristabel’s memory. Cristabel killed herself out of devotion and Mercy dedicated her whole existence to her remembrance; of course she needed to believe in John's divinity, to keep Cristabel’s faith alive. I thought it was a role Mercy performed, that of the fanatic, because turning her back on that side of Cristabel meant agreeing with Augustine that Cristabel hurt her by taking away her choice.
But what if it's not a mannerism Mercy developed? What if it's Cristabel’s soul peeking through?

Last week I thought Norris’ statement was playing by itself, but then Gwen mentioned Alice letting the incidents play and figured she was right, because Alice had mentioned doing that previously but after todays episode Norris definitely played by himself and Alice is innocent

hi besties I need some advice. So there’s this university I applied to in the early admissions cycle and when I got the invitation they said that if I was “not shortlisted in this cycle, I could apply again in the regular admissions cycle.”
After applying I was shortlisted for interview for one of the uni’s scholar programmes I applied to (the degree I applied to doesn’t have an interview, that’s only for scholarships/scholar programmes etc) and I had my interview one day after the regular admissions cycle opened.
it’s been one week since the regular admissions cycle opened and I haven’t heard anything from them, and I’ve only got a little less than 3 weeks until the regular admissions cycle also closes. No where in their email did they state how/when they would inform if I’ve been accepted/rejected from the uni or the scholars programme I applied to, so now my dilemma is:
Do I just take it that I’ve been rejected from both the uni and scholar programme by default? My interview wasn’t the best so I get it if I’m being rejected from the scholars programme but I should at least get into the uni?? Cuz like why would they go through the effort of shortlisting me for the scholars prog if I wasn’t even going to be accepted into the uni? And also if my grades/essays were good enough to get me shortlisted for the scholars prog surely they would be good enough to get me accepted for my degree??? (Early admissions is based on prelim grades and I literally got only 1 B in a subject that’s so unrelated to the course I’m applying for)
do I email them to ask? My parents think I should but that’s just generally stressful and not a fun time for anyone but also I feel like it’s basic decency to let me know if I’ve been accepted/rejected, esp since the regular admissions are ongoing? Since they said I could reapply in the regular cycle that sort of implies that I would know their decision by then, but also my interview for the scholars programme was one day after the regular cycle opened and idk how long they’ll take to make their decision but also their regular cycle closed on 19 March???? So what then?????????
pls help if anyone has any nuggets of wisdom, I’m kind of peeved w this uni cuz it’s pretty good but also I think it should be basic decency to tell me if I’ve been accepted or not esp since the regular cycle is open, or at the very least say smth like “if you don’t hear from us by this date, your application might have been unsuccessful” and on top of that THEY know when they’re done processing my application, I don’t, so why should I have to email them?? If they’ve come to a decision they can tell me!! I’m just shooting in the dark here w my email shxnxkkxkx

This is so freaking good. I don’t know how the hell you keep out doing yourself. But if Mercy did in fact kill her husband Bishop is doing some calculating in his head right about now. People like him don’t really feel fear the same way they don’t feel empathy at least not like normal people do. There are no definitive answers when it comes to this type of psychology. However this alleged new information will make him see her in a whole new light and possibly make him have a new found respect her.
As much as I want it to be true, if it is true I hope for Jayce’s sake he doesn’t believe Bertie. I’d love to see villain Mercy dog walk Bertie make her take those words back. I need Roberta to understand don’t nothing and no one come between mother Mercy and her grand-babies.
Allegedly
The one definite part of the psychology is that environmental factors play a huge role and he's been in quite a different environment for awhile now so, has that shaped his fear response now?
Tumblr media
Perhaps.
Make no mistake sis, Drakerverse Bishop is certainly shaken AND stirred which is probably why he asked the question in the first place. Oh he definitely did some calculations in his head.... This is not the Mercy he's used to fucking with.
So is he safe right now? Who should we really be worried about? His environment, since he's been a free, multi-dimension travelling set of super strong pixels has changed, perhaps he's gotten comfortable and maybe a little TOO comfortable. Is that beer safe? Is that blunt safe? Was his plate of chicken safe?
I'm not saying he's concerned. But he should be..... *cough*
As for Jay, If he so much as utters Bertie's name within 100 feet of Mercy... I fear what might come next. Sis is handy with the steel if you know what I mean.

Napoleon in Saxony 1813
This is for @snowv88: a brief snippet from Otto von Odeleben's "Napoleon's Feldzug in Sachsen im Jahr 1813". Odeleben was detached by the Saxon king and served as a liaison officer on Napoleon's staff, so he is a direct eye witness. He wrote, however, under Prussian rule already, so while his fascination is notable, if only in the way he describes plenty of details about Napoleon's manners, he often gives it an overall negative spin.
[Napoleon] let his horse go at a careless walk or short trot and sagged thoughtfully on it. His horse was used to follow the two chasseurs or orderlies who rode ahead. He preferred to ride cross-country without anyone knowing where to. The Chasseurs of the Guard, however, had become so familiar with his manner that they always could guess, at the first direction Napoleon took, the point he wanted to reach. He was so fond of riding on side roads and footpaths that he sometimes had to dismount in mountainous areas and valleys. It was always unpleasant for him to hear of obstacles or impossibilities. - "On ne peut pas?" (One can't?), Napoleon said with a sneer, and usually did not abandon a resolution until he had convinced himself. In bad or swampy spots, the Grand Stable Master rode ahead by a few horse lengths to examine the path where Napoleon was to follow him [...]
The Grand Stable Master of course being Caulaincourt. I'm pretty sure there was another mention of a similar kind but I could not find it again on short notice. I'll add it once I stumble across it again.
