every day i ponder a world where in percy jackson's greek heroes during the psyche chapter when percy was like "she feared her husband was a monster for the prophecy claimed she would marry one, but he was so sweet and perfect, how could he ever be one?" there was a side note reading "my friend jason would tell you the prophecy was fulfilled and that eros is the worst monster of them all. no clue what that's about, every time i ask him he starts muttering something about cupid and nico and closets, whatever that means. along with a fair amount of things i wouldn't dare put to words" and then i cry and wish i was there

thinking about how jason's death alone wasn't apollo's turning point in his arc about becoming better, but just jason himself. it was seeing jason being a person and not a hero and yet still choosing to sacrifice himself that made him care so much. he says he never particularly cared for jason aboard the argo ii, just another demigod, another hero to be sent off on a death quest if that was what the gods desired, and then goes on to say that jason in his school uniform is definitely worth noting. he never cares for jason until he sees jason being a normal person, being human. he sees this and then sees how casually jason talks about defending apollo to zeus in front of the council of the gods, how he says he should've tried harder, been better, like daring to defend apollo to his own father who is famously quite testy is just an everyday act of bravery and kindness, something he wouldn't question doing for a second. and if a mere mortal thinks of such a thing as an everyday act of kindness despite all the limitations his mortality places on him, then a god should do more, shouldn't they? if jason can be kind, apollo should be kinder.

actually thinking about liu kang and raiden. liu kang expecting an infinite loop that will never happen? a loop where raiden makes him a god and liu kang has to remake the universe and then makes raiden a god again? again and again and again? him dreading the day he has to force that burden onto raiden the same raiden forced it on him? because raiden made him champion and that was something liu kang never wanted, and then raiden forced godhood onto him and that was an even bigger point of suffering. do you think he made raiden champion as a revenge bit? do you think he wanted to make raiden suffer? that he wanted to make him bear the burden of godhood one day? that he wanted raiden to make him suffer the same way when he would have to make a new timeline? btw jason is in valhalla and there's currently a book being written that's split pov between nico and annabeth (trying to fix the issue that landed jason in valhalla) and jason and magnus (currently in valhalla) and half of nico and annabeth's povs is just them hating each other and most of magnus' povs is him hating jason's guts so fucking bad and 99% of jason's is him being like "wow :) i love my new friends :) i'm so glad this really nice guy is introducing me to the hotel" i know this because i'm rick riordan

yk in boo when jason headed over to the hades cabin fully prepared to beg nico to stay with him and nico told him he was going to jason immediately went for a hug but stopped when he remembered that nico doesn't usually like physical contact and when nico said it was fine jason hugged him so hard it was almost painful. i think that moment really solidified the fact that jason actually cares about him and wants to be his friend in nico's eyes.

jason was genuinely so happy that nico was staying with him that he could barely control the urge to hug him but was still caring and respectful enough of nico's boundaries that he held off until given permission. and when he was given permission he was so thrilled that he couldn't control the force he used. and he kept rambling about things they could do together. nico sees that and realises that oh jason is actually happy to be around him.
