What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get? see the crackship question for an appropriate answer to this since out of the ships that actually are canon I do *get* why they’re a thing
Are there any popular fandom OTPs you only BroTP? jon/sansa, any stark*cest tbh
Have you ever unfollowed someone over a fandom opinion? in asoiaf? yesterday I unfollowed someone because I realized they changed their blog title to an anti jon/sansa thing (WHY DON’T SHIT ON OTHERS’S SHIPS) and on top of that they hated jaime and at some point made a post dissing him in the tags and then basically wishing brienne ended up with hyle and NO THANK YOU
Do you have a NoTP in your fandom? Are they a popular OTP? t/ramsay, l/annincest and sansa/marg, t/ramsay is like 50% of what theon fans are into so I guess it’s popular but I don’t mind since the fans are chill and tag everything, l/annincest isn’t as popular as it could be and I honestly hope it keeps on declining because I’m petty and salty and the more time passes the less I can stand it, sansa/marg is sadly very popular and it’s half the reason why I can’t read a lot of t/hrobb stuff around because it’s the sideship and I can’t stomach it for reasons related to how obnoxious the shippers were during s3
Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you? in asoiaf? no but the part of sansa fandom who in s5/6 decided that whichever character shared a screen with her (from jon to theon to brienne) had to be dissed on principle was putting up an admirable effort to ruin the character for me
Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated? *thinks* .... nah, but the t/hramsay fandom is a+ and has done wonders in not making me see it even if I stalk the theon tag which means I tolerate it a lot more than I used to
Is there anything you used to like but can’t stand now? the show
Have you received anon hate? What about? *thinks* meh someone once sent me hate because I was arguing theon didn’t owe the starks anything and then there was the slew of j*aime/cersei anons a couple years ago who kept on sending asks like ‘he can’t be with brienne because she’s too ugly’
Most disliked character(s)? Why? cersei. good lord I guess she’s interesting for what she is but the only kind of *horrible people* I enjoy reading are *competent* horrible people and not only she’s incompetent, out of her mind and so self-absorbed she can’t even be an efficient villain, but like the fact that she’s an abusive narcisist asshole who fandom likes to present as a FEMINIST MODEL before declaring that she and jaime MUST BE THE SAME PERSON SO HE HAS TO BE AN ASSHOLE doesn’t help, also I find her povs boring af and I’m not interested in her head at all, and cherry on top anyone who laughs about catelyn going insane when she saw robb die in front of her is dead to me as anything. also she has the most fucking obnoxious subfandom in this fandom and she’s basically everything I detest in a) a person, b) a fictional character, so. yeah. hahaha. years ago it’d have been ramsay but the ramsay fandom is a LOT less horrid than hers, so.
Most disliked arc? Why? dany’s adwd arc, because it was too long and too much filler and I slept through about 70% of it like I honest to god don’t remember half of what happened.
Is there an unpopular character you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? THEON GREYJOY because he’s the objectively best written and conceived character in there never mind the most original one grrm’s ever come up with and a delicious deconstruction of everything he sets to deconstruct and he has the best identity arc ever and I’m a sucker for identity arcs and fandom hates him sooooo *sigh*
Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why? every time I hear brienne’s chapters are boring I want to weep and bang my head against the wall because they’re in my top three asoiaf povs and like it was the first time I ever related to a fictional character because of things we had in common and tbh I thought it was exquisitely done and the exploration of post-war westeros was a+ and I loved everything about it

Unpopular opinion about the manga/show? the SHOW? lol, if I say I don’t like 90% of what they choose it’s not UNPOPULAR anymore I guess? idk I think yara’s a terrible character and has nothing to do with asha but everyone seems to love her so
If you could change anything in the show, what would you change? LOL I’d reinstate jeyne westerling instead of that horrid talisa stuff and then I’d put winterfell back where it belonged as in with jeyne poole and theon being the main character talking about MAIN STUFF, I’d get someone to inform theon that ramsay died, I’d have killed ramsay through jon beheading him and I’D HAVE SCRAPPED WITH FIRE THAT RIDICULOUS ENDING OF S5 WHERE THEY KILLED SHIREEN SO THEN THEY COULD MAKE BRIENNE KILL STANNIS IN THE MOST OOC THING I EVER SAW IN THAT SHOW sigh ah and jon*dany wouldn’t be canon by now I guess and lady stoneheart would have been a thing
Instead of XYZ happening, I would have made ABC happen… .... yeah right instead of talisa I’d have had jeyne, instead of sansa and theon I’d have had jeyne and theon and jaime would have dumped cersei properly two seasons ago
Does not shipping something ‘popular’ mean you’re in denial and/or biased? no, but harping at people who ship something popular and not canon telling them they’re in denial/biased is really fucking irksome
What is the one thing you hate most about your fandom? sorry I can’t pick ONE. on the same level: *book readers* who obviously haven’t read the entire thing, people who think jaime is the same person as cersei, whoever in the l/annincest fandom sends the monthly anons telling jb shippers how biased they are and that no one gives a fuck about jon connington. ah, and that people still think theon betrayed *the starks*
What is the purest ship in the fandom? jon/sam
What are your thoughts on crack ships? listen I enjoy crack ships myself but I hate it when some become more popular than actual sensed ships when they’re a thing because of aesthetics and I REALLY hate that in this fandom a lot of crack ships are more popular than ships that make sense or are canon (see: jaime/sansa - WHY IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE - vs jon/sam or jonc/rhaegar, or the fact that rhaegar/HARRY POTTER has more effective fics than jonc/rhaegar, or jaime/sansa probably having more effective fics than jon/ygritte since the latter is always a sideship or IN THE PAST and if you take the dany/jon and sansa/jon out of the ao3 search you get... 300 maybe, and actually add sam/anyone in the list of ships that don’t get following HMMM GUESS WHY) that said jonc/the blackfish is the crackship of the century and I’ll go down with it (and I enjoy a lot of others ie jon/asha XDD)
Popular character you hate? if she counts as popular, cersei. otherwise dany’s not my fave but I don’t hate her or anything I just don’t like her that much. ah no wait show!margaery like I honestly don’t get what’s so special about marg period

How would you end XXX/Would you change the ending of XXX? it’s not ended already but I want jon ALONE on the throne, dany back in essos, the other starks in winterfell, theon getting a break and jaime and brienne being ridiculously happy on tarth (I KNOW IMPROBABLE IDC)
Most shippable character? def. jon like I ship him with a bunch of people too bad none of them are sansa or dany #hahahahahaha
Least shippable character? idk out of people I actually ship with anyone period def. brienne like if she’s not with jaime or he’s not involved I really don’t see her with others (tho I’ll admit to watching the tormund/brienne crack vids because they’re amusing), also meh arya because I only ship her and gendry?

Random question time, and since GoT season is (kinda blissfully) over, let's talk BTVS. I've always wondered what your favorite arc was, and why. :)
Wow, that's hard to rank!!! I think I will list a few of my TOP character arcs:
Buffy's arc makes the most fluid sense in terms of story structure. The amazing lady we got in the later seasons felt eARNED!!! She essentially becomes a single mother to her sister as early as season 5 (at the same age I am right now!!!), which in a weaker show might be a huge leap between age developments, but as I said, it was earned!
The following annoys people about Buffy, but this is a flaw I like about her because it's real to life: Buffy never 100% gets over her standoffishness and tendency to not tell people critical information on the grounds that it's emotionally exhausting (running away in season 2, the Spike affair, Angel coming back). People who don't communicate are a HUGE pet peeve of mine, so why is Buffy still may fave? Because the show DARES to have a female character have a flaw that would legitimately piss people off in real life! Considering the responsibilities she has,this flaw feels organic and isn't something like oh she's so clutzy haha just like you Real Woman (tm) at home! It's something she works on to this day. She is perfect in her imperfection.
In summary I favour Buffy's arc because it felt the most organic and admirable. That why I love Season 5; the stuff just feels earned and built up to over the years to bring the characters into a place we love. On the flip side...
While on a human level, I would not be inviting Spike to any social gatherings, he has an arc that is at least...fascinating in its unevenness. My favourite angle to look at him is through a masculinity-misogynistic analysis. Others have done this way better than me so I'll just share my fave highlights:
the Freudian mess that is his relationships with women (paging Doctor Bates, Doctor Norman Bates!). With Dru, he gets off of not only being a paternalistic caretaker (getting her dolls, pretty dresses, with pretty girls in them lol fave horrible moment) of this way more powerful woman (validating his masculinity), but also being kinda her pseudo-son??? Buffy lookin' like his mother, seeking her approval, to quot Brittta Perry: "So edible!"
he comes to season 4 really angry at womankind in general: his egging of Buffy in their fight as a more slutshamy stance than usual; his treatment of Willow (contrast the way Riley treats Willow in "The Initiative") and Harmony also have misogynistic OVERTONES, not undertones
the Nice Guy (tm) stalker arc is one my fave (ih)human disasters condensing the ickiness of s6 into comedy. (btw if anyone want to forward me links to Nice Guy/Broni Friendzoni/Reddit like places where Spike would hang out of he had a Facebook do so PLEASE because I'm brainstorming a few more of those BuffyonFacebook things around that)

Do you know whether the costumes in the Vanity Fair shooting are/were/will be (pick one) all used in the show ? Because I'm really digging Brienne's blue outfit.
I imagine they will be, however I’m not sure if we’ll get to see Brienne’s blue outfit on it’s own in the show. From what I can, that’s what she wears under her new armour. It does look great though!

What are your issues with John Green's courses ? I've watched his US history classes to 'refresh my memory' so to speak, and while they're a little 'laconic' (due to format than anything else), I thought they were pretty good, especially for High schoolers who, in general, need a more playful approach. Dunno, I feel like so long as you don't only rely on them and don't take them as gospel they're good extra material you can use.

I didn't realise until I followed you that there were people out there who legitimely think Robb is a bad person. Not a teenager who's made mistakes, nope, a straight up awful person. What is up with this fandom.
No clue man but believe me I wish I had been kept in the dark about the robb hating crowd myself because just thinking about it makes my blood turn into bile and it's not good for my health :( and the problem is that they actually have an audience

Quite the contrary, to keep straight by all expression of truth, I must endeavour to set any discomposure of feelings at ease, that you should not appear to advantage in furnishing the latest edition of fandom game with me, when by legitimate representation you might as well claim first right to it. And now I must avail myself of the opportunity hereby established to devote all answers to this query all the more in gratitude for setting a fresh course on the side of GRRM’s fantasy providence, where many of the most influential relationships to my mind hold sway. :D
So let us switch fun state of affairs to resume already, shall we:
lowkey otp: Catelyn/Ned (functional family mantle, torn asunder hurts me deep in my guts), Jon/Stannis (in my absolute defence, he did threaten to behead the Lord Commander but two times too little), Jon/Ygritte (the author has the male part lay his blade flat against this redhead’s throat, she insists they should be man and wife in Wildling fashion, so they’d grant each other further cause for merry-go-round interludes in the most appealing manner GRRM has ever written such, not to mention Yg’s blue-eyed, freckly countenance consorts well with the romantic inclinations of another *cough* male *cough* character, ‘nuff said!), Sam/Gilly (my admission to ardent support in this case is directly imputable to the fond farewell they share aboard the Cinnamon Wind, the acme of emotive storytelling), Theon/Jeyne (I contend, GRRM had better rein it in with his Byronic stand-ins positioning so unhesitatingly a procession of female figures in the story as the dupe of their regard, like as not, in great need of an ingenue, or I’m a puddle, too!), Jeyne/Robb (honourable brave Cat-mini!me, and sweet gentle not!Sybell Spicer, who’s tucked his kingly decorative close to her chest throughout), Catelyn/Jaime (like Cersei, or Brienne, do I detect a pattern here, methinks), Loras/Jaime (LiveJournal would have been on it in large swathes of fanon!land, but I should abstain from clinging on to things that have been, even as the commonalities their role in the narrative reveals between the two excite my fancy to a considerable extent, for fear I should ingratiate…)
highkey notp: Sansa/Littlefinger (Wormtongue’s preying upon impressionable Éowyn, inextricably linked withall the praise he hoards to himself in deferrence to his intellect, and yet emulates Sansa in having the wit of a sheep, which despite his present assurances to the opposite, some too-quick reading between the lines perhaps ushers to the fore of his assertive, large-maintenance extravaganza), Theon/Ramsay (I’ve not yet made a habit of cheering for a union of any kind between abuse victims and their ravagers, with all the sexual undertones to any such occurences, in spite too of my understanding that Ramsay’s presence in the books is nevertheless crucial to Theon’s ADwD character arc), Sansa/Tyrion (his matrimonial urging of Sansa to turn a blind eye to his deformities and see to it that they are corralled with the more sustainable attributes of the Knight of Flowers, make no mistake, runs headlong counter to Sansa’s tentative reaching out to Sandor to take the sharp edge out of his grim temperament, once she acquiesced to his instruction to take in the whole of his unfortunate physicality, as such an important part of Sansa’s chapters through the text turns closest upon her learning that it will not simply do to look at the materiality of surroundings and human appearance, she’d soon take it upon her to look into these as well, and all on Sandor’s own initiative.)
[softly] don’t notp: Sansa/Margaery (show, Marg was apparently ignorant of large-scale conflict, books, Sansa could take the Tyrells at their dainty word only as far as she should throw them, and this from one such as can master at least one iota of respect for the family concerned), Sansa/Brienne (my rule of thumb, to each their own and their proclivities, but for want of a better argument, the text stipulates from the start that Sandor is Sansa’s knight, not Brienne), Sansa/Jaime (to my notions, can often rely on a flimsy premise at best, Jaime is a Beast to the exclusion of other interpretations, as much as it might be said of Jon he should have nothing on the fiery specimen ahead, even as I’ve put myself forward before as obliging the assertion that in fact Sansa is closer in character to Jaime than to Brienne, but goes some way towards messing up GRRM’s BatB archetypes.)
highkey otp but I’m scared of saying it because it’s not a very popular choice: Sansa/Sandor has drawn a good deal of comment on the combative arguments displayed, I’m well aware, but so still I’m in this to the finishing line.

*to diffuse possible confusion, I do not wax poetic so far as Jaime/Cersei, but since the outcomes of this swing can hardly be constrained as to bear witness to such a development, I still make of their relationship one of the most interesting and thematically-luxurious elements of the series…

1. What is your first memory, and how old were you?
hmmmm I was 3 and roaming the old apartment behind the sofas. That's most of my memories at 3.
2. Do you have any pets?
Not at the moment. Not a big pet person. Honestly, keeping creatures inspires so much pity within myself: my family could only offer a pet an existence cold, naked, claustrophobic, and brief.
3. What are some hobbies/issues you’re passionate about?
I TRY to do creative writing when I can. I'd say gender and representational politics, but who isn't on Tumblr lol. I love English literature and Tudor & feudal European history. And does Sims count as a hobby?
4. What is the most awesome/exciting thing that’s happened in your life so far?
I don't know if i can rank but one exciting thing was achieving a 4.0 sessional GPA this and getting onto honour role. that made me so happy.
5. If you could ensure 5 people stopped existing tomorrow, with 0 repercussions, who would they be?
I have watched too many time travel movies and episodes of Lost to ever touch that question. Everyone, even little shits like Joffrey Baratheon, is worth something to someone and it is not my place to touch that on a whim.
6. On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being ‘cool as a cucumber’ and 10 being ‘that would never fucking happen), how awkward is it for you to poop in public restrooms?
...9...in an absolute emergency i can, but that hasn't happened since childhood so...you know, I don't think you want details so let's move on
7. What “phases” or fads have you gone through in your lifetime so far?
Elementary school was my Otaku phase. During middle school it was True Crime and Serial Killer Histories girl (why I was in the Dexter fandom). 12/13 year olds like to feel dangerous without doing a lot of work. In high school I was a renaissance/Tudor history freak (and to this day still kinda am).
8. What are your top 3 fandoms?
Buffy, ASOIAF/Game of Thrones, Harry Potter (mostly House Sorting tho lol)
9. Do you believe in ghosts?
Not really. The organizing force of our universe could never be so sloppy. Although I want to visit a cemetery a night just for the aesthetic experience.
10. What are a few of your favorite things?
Pearls; lace; jeweled headbands; mary jane shoes; sushi; raw salmon; frozen yogurt; tofu, cold, warm, or deep fried; 4.0 GPAs, sleep;

Is there any time I'm not??? lol I have an Econ paper due on the 27th and am have trouble getting started. I have all but given up on getting a summer job (and very very fortunate enough not to need one but it does make me feel useless) so I'm hoping to just help out at my parents' work but I take that as a sign of defeat nonetheless. I'm procrastinating about my G1 driver's test because i failed it the first time 4 years ago and never went back because I never fail tests! I'm anxious about prepping for LSATs and/or getting a CV together for grad school and what the hell exactly i;m gonna do. it's reading week so i have a shitload of stuff even though it's just one class i'm taking, just eff me pls.

1) In which country would you rather live ?
I could honestly never imagine leaving Canada. However, if forced relocated, I would choose Germany (finger crossed I would learn the language!)
2) The worst movie/book you’ve seen/read?
Manos: The Hands of Fate. Its ironic fun trash but as a movie by itself its also tedious and really boring and unpleasant. The film actually begins with a nearly half-hour long sequence of the family driving around aimlessly. It actually is the most incompetent thing put to screen
3) Wind or rain ?
Wind. Any day.
4) Which character from “Classic Literature” do you most identify with ?
Helen from The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. She tries to be a maverick and creative in a more forward way than most female Victorian protagonists.
5) Favorite film director
Edgar Wright. He has a distinct aesthetic like Wes Anderson yet his is far better character writer. Wright films also work with rewatches very well whatnot with their layered jokes and orgasms of references.
6) Fantasy or Science Fiction ?
Fantasy. I'm not really a "genre" seeker, I just choose concepts I think are interesting. Nevertheless, I've just realized more of my faves are fantasy than sci-fi so there you go.
7) If you could have any job you wanted, what would it be ?
Professional Writer/Blogger/Author. Yeah, people say they want to be paid for sitting at home and writing thoughts. However, I love that this career can be segued into a variety of fields: activism, education, etc. Leeway is key for me in career choice.
8) USA or UK ?
UK.
9) Which sport/physical activity do you practice, or would like to practice ?
Archery.
