I MISSED SHADOW BEING A SMUG LITTLE SHOWOFF SO MUCH

Something I think that a lot of writers get wrong about Shadow (whether it was influenced by Sega's strictness or not) is that they tend to write him as just an opposite character to Sonic, and he does have elements of that. But he's also supposed to be a parallel to him.

All that confidence and sass, the cheeky poses, the way he clearly delights in showing off his skills and having a good tussle? Those are all Sonic traits.

They're meant to be each other's match in not just their abilities, but also their attitudes. And they used to bring out their similarities in each other, too - in SA2, Shadow is all business and brooding except for when Sonic shows up. Then it's like a sleeper agent kicks in and he neglects everything he was just doing to mess with him and prove how cool he is, it's actually comical.

But for years now, we've mostly had Sonic be the only one of the two to have fun when they fight, or be snarky, while Shadow's just been. so serious all the time. Maybe they'll give him the occasional comment or one-liner, but it still felt kinda... off, somehow. And I think it's because they didn't really lean into his Sonic-isms as much.

Meanwhile, there are several poses/expressions he makes in this episode that are extremely easy for me to imagine Sonic doing too, and it's great! Shadow is having fun again!! That's all I've wanted for years!!

You know it really doesn't help your case when you have to pretend not to be able to understand what Lily actually said about choking someone.

If you want to call out Lily for things she says please stick to things she has actually said and not what you want to pretend she says.

You must be new. Because she said exactly what we said she did:

Because to me, it looks like Lily is pushing all responsibility of choking onto the sub.

She is actively saying there is no precautions one can take to do the activity safely, when in fact, there are thousands of experienced Doms and Subs out there who would tell you otherwise.

Leaving everything up to the Sub, and to have all responsibility of knowing when to stop onto the person being chocked, is dangerous.

The sub could pass out before they reach that point and then die. The dom could crush their windpipe and kill them if they don't know the proper techniques.

I can guarantee you, telling a judge that "it wasn't your fault, the sub knew the risks" isn't going to fly when you get arrested for killing someone.

Lily is actively spreading information and a mentality that could get someone killed, and the fact your defending this makes me sick.

Them looking at each other being absolutely crazy in love

Daemon being ready to come with her, ready to stand at her side, ready to do whatever needs to be done

Rhaenyra calling daemon my love

Rhaenyra and daemon coming to viserys bed broke me, when they saw how bad he had gotten, in how much pain he was and that it was clear he wouldn't survive much longer. Daemon having trouble to look at viserys because the sight of him hurts his soul so deeply but viserys saying his name all over again because he was so relieved that his brother was there.

Daemon checking the cup from viserys wanting to know if there was something in it that could harm him.

Rhaenyra showing viserys his new grandchildren and viserys happiness about the names, knowing that his name will live on and that he was so important to her and daemon that they named a child after him.

Viserys coming for rhaenyra and children, claiming the throne one last time, Daemon guiding him, putting the crown back on his head and saying "come on"

Viserys getting up again after vaemonds words and once again making clear that rhaenyra is his heir and that he wants her to become queen

Daemon waiting for vaemond velaryon to finally say it out loud and killing him with one strike of dark sister after he disrespected his kids and dared to call rhaenyra a whore - like how fucking stupid was this man what the hell did he except???

The dinner. Oh the dinner. I wanna make a whole post about it but I loved this scene and at the same time it broke my heart

But happy daemon and rhaenyra sitting so close to each other, holding hands the whole time, watching their kids, rhaenyras words to alicent, viserys looking around but the side with his eye being on the targaryen side, ottos mimic, the kids... God that was so much.
