Lucy: I’m going to tell you something that my dad always told me and Lois.
Kara: your dad....you mean the megalomaniacal general who sold kryptonite to Maxwell Lord and who hates aliens, the French and the Irish despite the fact that his son in law is my cousin and the fact that your family’s lineage can be traced back to Calais and Belfast?
Lucy: yes.
Kara: this oughta be good(.) Alright then. Out with it.
Lucy: shit sticks. And Kara. The Luthor’s own the whole pigsty.
Kara: James? A little help here please?
James: the Luthor’s are beyond help. Befriending one of them will just end up in things being worse for you.
Kara: ohhhh. Why didn’t you just say that then?
Lucy: Clark understood it!
Kara: I’m not Clark!
Lucy:....good point

im on season 5 and jesus christ lena is annoying me. she is so egotistical and selfcentered and its hard to watch everyone still give her a pass. i mean, she literally tried to take everyones free will away because she has trust issues, issues that she herself is compounding by taking everything in the worst possible way. yes kara kept her true identity from her, to protect her, but not only from her, from everyone, and she literally saved lenas life so many times and was always there for her. she doesnt have the right to take out her anger on literally all of humanity. and the sheer arrogance to think shes in the right with any of this, that shes the good guy, after manipulating all of her friends in the worst possible way, which is exactly what caused her to snap like this is just repulsive. being hurt doesnt give you the right to hurt others. she spends so much time on trying to not be a luthor, but my god shes done it. shes killed a guy in human trials, shes tortured prisoners, shes literally overriden a person and replaced her with an ai, and still the only person she pities is herself. the one place she should be is a cell at the deo, she has had every chance to literally just not do something awful for two seconds, and shes managed to blow it everytime and still thinks shes the victim.

I’m sorry but these SuperCorpers trying desperately to compare Lena to Smallville’s Lois Lane? I don’t think I’ve ever been so insulted on behalf of a fictional character.

I just have to say this, even though supergirl ended almost two years ago. I’m a little bit sick and tired of people kissing Lena’s ass. I love her but I do think that she overreacted. I understand feeling betrayed and she really had a good reason because Kara acting differently as Supergirl and Kara especially knowing Lena’s history is fucked but pretending that she is perfect and without flaws is really a bit too much. This is especially noticeable in fics where it is obvious that Lena is the favorite. Kara is seen as the devils incarnate while Lena is the little baby that never does anything wrong. I repeat, Kara did fuck up and should take up responsibility but acting like Lena wanting to mind control the whole world is an acceptable reaction is a bit too much.

Let me tell you something about what kind of abusive trash Lena Luthor is.
She was punching and murdering Kara in the virtual world for months
Tumblr media
You say it’s coping mechanism? Nah. Do you want to know why?
Because she was manipulating Kara and plotting how to HURT her for months and she did in the end.
Tumblr media
She put her in a cage made of kryptonite, while screaming, gaslighting, accusing while poisoning her.
Friendly reminder that Lena knew exactly how painful and horrible it is when Kara is exposed, while not even being touched by it, but just being close to kryptonite and Lena put her into a cage made of it :)
Tumblr media
And then she  screamed, gaslighted and victim blamed Kara :)
Tumblr media
You know how bad it was? That Kara thought Lena was going to KILL her :)
Tumblr media
For what? For not telling Lena her secret. Something she had right to keep for herself as long she was not comfortable to share.
Tumblr media
But when she was ready, she did. And what Lena did?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She hurt Kara every way imaginable, in the most horrible and manipulative way. She hurt Kara like no one ever before.
And don;t let me even start to talk about how Lena kidnapped people, raped their minds, enslaved them and planned to do it to Kara too.
But Lena was sorry, so it’s everything fine, right?
Bullshit. And do you know why?
Because Supercorp shippers themselves set some “standards” for relationships and call EVERY Kara and Lena’s love interest abusive/toxic and trashed them even after they changed or apologized, claiming no matter what they do they will always stay abusers. And no one did to Kara even 1% of what Lena did to her.
It’s standards of supercorp shippers. And after Lena did all of above to Kara, suddenly all her fans turned blind and ignored or excused her horrible actions.
So no, Supercorp is not an epic love story. It’s a badly written story of a toxic friendship of a woman who was too afraid to expose herself to her so called friend and an abusive woman who hurt her so called friend every way imaginable, physically and mentally, while excusing her actions because of being blinded by feelings and being in a dark place.
What is a perfect example of how abusive men excuse hurting their partners. And guess what? It’s not love.

The people that claim Mon-el was abusive tend to ship Kara with someone that manipulated her, locked Kara in a Kryptonite cage. 🤷‍♀️

Intelligent Title
I didn't even rewatch the last episode of s4, it was just taking me forever to finish and I have things to say so anyway.
I get that it's obvious to the audience that xenophobia = bad, but it sure wasn't to the people of National City. So where were the actual arguments? When did they actually address the public's concerns? Superfam just kept going "This is not the time to fight" and *insert completely unrelated hope speech here*
And I really just don't understand why they gave the new villain of the season a whole ass episode for his sob story. I think it's good when villains are somewhat sympathetic, but they really went far with this one. Aren't we supposed to hate him? I sure did.
Kara's whole characterization kind of...confused me this season. First, we had inexperienced and optimistic Kara, then we had somewhat experienced but still optimistic Kara, and then depressed but experienced, intelligent and serious Kara in s3. Which I know the depressed part wasn't that fun to watch but it felt like a logical character progression, at least to me. And then we have...somehow really dumb and irrationally optimistic Kara? How did this happen? She's basically her season 1 self, but more arrogant and way more willing to let her friends walk all over her, apparently.
And please don't get me started on that whole scene where she apologized to LENA for being upset that LENA consistently lied to her (and her mother) about something that originally belonged to her people and she probably has some trauma about. Just don't :)
As for the ending, I have two main issues with it. First of all, I really hate when they redeem characters by having them sacrifice themselves. Dying is easy. Understanding why you sucked and getting better is hard. And they made it look like Red Daughter only saved Kara because she didn't want Lex to win, which is likely what happened but it's certainly not much of a redemption.
And lastly, the Alex-remembers-and-Kara-comes-back-to-life scene. Ho boy. One of the things I find compelling about action shows is the suspense. You're actually worried for the characters. I rarely felt like this for Supergirl, but now the show guarantees we never will. Why? Because Kara pretty much can't die, apparently. Electrocuted? Touch some grass! Poisoned with kryptonite? Roll out the sun lamps and she'll be fine! From now on, there's literally nothing they can do to her that will permanently kill her, as long as there's sunlight or plants around.
Whatever you say, show.

So lemme get this straight… Kara/Lena on SGCW = baited, open ended, Lena Luthor a hero Kara/Lena in DC CW comics = baited, open ended, Lena Luthor a hero Kara/Lena in future DC comics/movies = TBD, anything could happen
Meanwhile...
Kara/Mon-El on SGCW = ended forever Legion of Super-Heroes animated movie = Mon-El a villain, no romance
New DC Comics = Mon-El related to Kara, no romance Between all this + major DC artists and writers proving to be pro-Kara/Lena, I’d say “Supercorp” could still happen at some point in really any media, meanwhile Mon-El is a character that may never recover from the awful SGCW version and “Karamel” is dead forever in all versions so far.
Interesting, and ironic.
P.S. Happy for KaraDox fans in the meantime, since the LOSH animated film apparently leans into that. I’ve never had any issues with that duo, though obviously I still think Supercorp is 100% the future as far as Kara’s romantic destiny if they want her to have an iconic, Clois or BatCat type of a lasting legacy that stands the test of time, as far as love interests are concerned.
