Okay, Ymir Fritz....
Genuinely curious, am I the only person that doesn’t give a damn about this character?
Tumblr media
For as long as i can remember I have been COMPLETELY apathetic to the elephant in the room that is Ymir Fritz, the very cause of all the Titans and 2000 years of suffering. Basically this story’s Anti-Jesus.
It may be because Gabi Braun had already derailed the story for me so I couldn’t give a fuck about Titans’ origins anymore, but that aside, is anybody genuinely fascinated by the explanation provided by Ymir Fritz’s very existence?
Her entire saga with King Fritz, the releasing of the pigs, being fused with that nameless symbiote, which in itself is another entity that didn’t really come full circle in the final arc.......NONE of it engages me in the slightest.
I mean I was never a huge fan of when they subverted the original story by showing that it was Marley who deliberately created the TItans to wipe out the people of the Walls, and I don’t consider the Marley to be especially well-developed as an enemy faction, but everything comes back to Ymir......I was thoroughly underwhelmed and could not really accept her story as relevant to the plot. It could be because she simply came up too little, too late. Or because I genuinely found her story uncompelling. Horrific? Sure. But for a horrifying backstory, it sure was a bore.
That’s to say nothing of the idiotic revelation that she needed to see Mikasa “let go” of Eren so that she could let go of her love for such a monstrous human being like King Fritz.......Not only was that totally in bad taste, but it was a HIDEOUS solution to the Titan curse. Them and the symbiote vanishing with little real consequence, that was totally anticlimactic. But it all boiled down to the cringiest kiss ever seen since a human princess kissed a blue hedgehog?  Oh yes. I went there.
There’s only one Ymir in this story I want to watch. And that is our long lost goddess here.
Tumblr media
Anyone else feel totally uninvested in Ymir Fritz? Because half the time, I have to remind myself oh yeah, she exists.......For such an enigmatic character, Ymir Fritz left virtually NO impact on me.
Do you guys agree?

i still can't believe eren likely knew that would be his last interaction with them, and still chose to be that much of an asshole to hange. i just........ i can't fathom it.

I've been following you for years and now you're admitting that you're deceiving yourself (don't get me wrong, I don't mean anything bad) this makes me feel a little confused I always loved and relied on your answers I'll understand if you leave SnK but I suspect it'll get cold soon in LH 132 average was good for me, they could have done a little more emotional love Levihan but I ship them knowing that Levi and Hange don't have romantic feelings for anyone
maybe that's why i'm not so disappointed. I think it would be better if it was released as an episode instead of a movie. It's obvious that Isayama is also supervising the anime because I think he did a good job with some of the changed extra scenes like Zeke's grandparents + when 104. to Eren in paths place, they make O turn and come back. Another personal concern of mine about the anime I hope the anime recreates Levi's monologue well in episodes 136 and 139 especially his comrades don't remove the scenes he saw and romanticize the Erwin Promise thing in 136 😬
Sorry to disappoint, but people aren't infallible. Again, i'm not becoming a LH anti or anything. If you wanna ship it romanticaly it's up to you.
I am kinda done with the anime as a whole so idk what to tell you anymore. :)
This is why it's important to think for yourself instead of seeking answers from others.

“Floch didn’t want to kill anybody. He was aiming at the plane, not the people. What a true patriot.:)” — some redditors at titanfolk.
Me, reading the chapter: huh... is that right?
Tumblr media
He was trying to blow the plane up. That would take out the three people near the plane. Floch isn’t a nice guy. He doesn’t mind if children and civilians get hurt during that attack in liberio, right?

aot is problematic and propaganda some say
thoughts?
Hi! Sorry about the really late reply T.T “Problematic” and “propaganda” are pretty vague terms though…I do spend a lot more time in the Western fandom than in the Chinese fandom, but still I’m not entirely familiar with the ongoing debate in the Western fandom about whether SnK has fascist overtones. People in the Chinese fandom have a pretty different set of concerns which essentially pertains to Japan’s war crimes during WW II (Japan invaded and occupied China and other Asian countries during WW II and hasn’t apologized for it to this date). Given this historical context, Chinese readers tend to keep their eyes peeled for any hint in SnK of an apologetic attitude for Japan’s war crimes, or any hint that Isayama may have allowed Japan’s past militarism to rear its head in his work. This has spawned a lot of debates in the past, but tbh Chinese fans in general are very tired of such arguments as “SnK apologizes for Japan’s war crimes by painting war criminals as victims,” or that “SnK’s depiction of military culture smacks of Japan’s right-wing politics,” etc., etc. And people dislike and tire of those accusations because they tend to be forced and unfounded cliches that’re results of people reading with preconceptions coloured by China’s historical grudge against Japan. And this not only happens with SnK but with other Japanese literature as well. This is not to say that there aren’t actually any Japanese literature that’re problematic and defend Japan’s war crimes, but I think it’s basically fandom consensus that SnK doesn’t belong to this class. Also I’ve written a post in the past regarding this topic which is from a personal perspective, you might find it to be of interest.
Then let’s talk about what I personally find potentially problematic in SnK…I’ll just focus on the phrase “dedicate your heart” (“心臓を捧げよ”). Now this phrase has been used in both positive contexts (such as Levi’s farewell to Hange in chapter 132) and negative ones (such as the mob chanting the phrase in front of military headquarters in support of the Yeagerists in chapter 110). But this phrase per se isn’t benign or humane. Erwin himself admitted that he fooled his subordinates with “dedicate your heart.” I’ve discussed the implication of “dedicate your heart” in an old post, and the gist of it is that it’s a cruel saying because by asking people to give up their beating hearts, you’re simply asking them to give up their lives. “Dedicate your heart” may sound stirring and noble and makes you hyped, but what underlies it is the deplorable glorification of self-sacrifice that stems from the collectivism of East Asian culture. In short, “dedicate your heart” shows an intentional disregard for individual lives. You’re asked to give your heart (aka give your life) because your life doesn’t belong to yourself but to some greater cause. The individual always pales before the collective. I believe this is the problematic mindset that underlies “dedicate your heart” and I think we should be careful not to romanticize it. I don’t think Isayama is necessarily actively endorsing this mindset, but rather that how the military is portrayed by the society he grew up in subconsciously seeped into how he portrays the military in his own work.
However from my own very limited and uninformed perspective, SnK from the Marley arc onwards is explicitly anti-war and anti-imperialism. I love the tragic irony of the Marley arc as it shows how imperialism oppresses both other nations and its own people (specifically the Eldians). Marley’s domestic oppression isn’t always physical and tangible; it’s often invisible and insidious. It oppresses the very air you breathe; it’s about the unwritten rules you have to follow, certain things you know you can’t do or say, or you’re done for. And the backstory of people like Reiner and Zeke and their families goes to show that in wars, although there might be winners and losers on the scale of nations, there’s no winning for the common people. Everyone loses and suffers, everyone embroiled in the war has to sacrifice something and is forced to abandon humanity to some extent.

What really happened at the end?
A meta-analysis that would focus on what happened to Levi after they have won the battle.
I want to give credits to: @riva-koucha ‘s analysis. What I’ll be discussing here is to support her earlier analysis.
Why is Levi with Onyankopon?
I will start with this one. Many of the SNK fandom had started to think that Gabi and Falco have been the two who are taking care of Levi.
Might be right, but mostly, the possibility is very high in being wrong. Why is that?
Gabi and Falco have both still have their parents. Let’s be realistic here. It’s sweet that Levi have kids to take care of him... but I want to be realistic. We all know the love that Falbi have over their parents and it would be odd to think that they would just adopt some Ackerman. I’m not going to explain deeper, but in a literal sense, Gabi and Falco are not with Levi. They only visited him and hence would accompany both Onk and Levi... to Paradis.
Next. Why Onyankopon then?
Tumblr media
I reread SNK Chapter 132-139 again. Yes, unfortunately, and it hurt so bad that I can no longer feel anything at all.
Onyankopon’s trust and respect towards Hange had blossom a great impact on him. The lines he had said above, only proved his willingness to do anything as a consequence of what the anti-marleyan did.
And I think that would only strengthen the panel why is he with Levi. Because Levi was Hange’s best friend. Something that Onyankopon wanted to repay Hange’s sacrifice. And it is very natural to take care/assist of the person who had done a great service in stopping the war.
Where is Levi and Onyankopon? And why are they there?
Tumblr media
I would like to assume that they are in London. Looking by the panel above, we could see the big ben there as well as Onyankopon’s race.
London is very known for good tea. Our best boi Levi deserves a good ass tea for all that happened. I can’t say that they both lived there, but I would like to think that they were out there for a vacation or a tour before Levi truly goes home (will be discuss later)
Next. The alliance.
I think many people already assumed that the Alliance have been going on and off Paradis and other nations. But let’s read again the lines below:
Tumblr media
The time skip had only been three years.
There are many factors that would prove that the Alliance have never returned to Paradis during that three years time skip. (I won’t discuss how Mikasa went back maybe she swim or whatever. I don’t want to talk about her)
Because the rumbling destroyed 80% of everything. How could they go back? Transportation resources have been destroyed and it would take not just a year to rebuild anything that would take them back to Paradis.
And it was expected for them to receive hate. Why go back so soon when the island despise you? Likewise the quote, do not add more fire when it’s burning.
Tumblr media
And lastly, this is the very obvious proof.
Tumblr media
Their families were taken by Historia. If they were just going round and round the world, the dialogue above was unnecessary to say.
So... going back to Levi.
Same for Levi, he hasn’t yet returned to Paradis. And this time, he will return back to his HOME after three years. And how is that?
Tumblr media
Look at the plane’s direction and look at the direction where they are going.
Tumblr media
If we are going to use real life directions... and they are in Big Ben. Well then the direction they were heading to only indicated an airport.
More proof? I think the wheelchair would explain it too. Levi is not amputated but the fact that he limps when he would be walking, only shows that he needs to be using a wheelchair whenever traveling long distance trip.
And lastly, this.
Tumblr media
I needed to fucking search shits about the bag Onyankopon hold, and it’s very uncanny to think why only hold one.
Take note that Onyankopon and Falbi lives outside Paradis. And it’s only Levi who lives at Paradis... safe to say that the travel bag is for him because Onk and Falbi would only accompany him. (Make sense because Onk and Falbi have their families outside Paradis island)
So yeah... Levi’s going back home.
Tumblr media
“...have appeared on Paradis... to advocate for peace.”
I want to use riva-koucha’s analysis that the word used there is not just ‘appeared’ but ‘RETURNED’
And I’m not the only one who could see why Levi shows no smile at his last panel (whereas everyone else was smiling) it’s because I assumed that he has unfinished business with someone who just disappeared after he had told her to STAY WITH HIM. You know who I’m talking about.
That’s all. It might also be my last meta-analysis, (who knows) or maybe another when someone could caught my eye. I do not want to discuss about Mikasa, I have nothing to say about her. That’s how disappointed I am.
But yeah, again, Levi’s coming back home. Better not Mikasa waste this opportunity.
Thanks for reading!
PS: I will answer the asks you sent me. I just need some time with Levi doll, I am really not feeling well. But thank you for understanding! (:

Ultimate trivia question for AOT fans....
We're five weeks out from the Titan's anime finale, and I certainly have no expectation that anything will be significantly different, despite all the continued speculation of an AOE.
And the only reason any such debate still rages is because of the obvious. So let me just ask for the heck of it:
Was there even ONE redeeming value to be found in any aspect of the finale?
That encompasses pretty much everything from the immediate aftermath of Hange's sacrifice to the eight extra pages.
I honestly want to know, all of you here, anyone who looks, was there anything worthwhile in this mess? Because in the two and half years to pass between the manga ending and the anime ending, I struggle to find anything resembling a legitimate payoff here. WHICH IS WHAT AN ENDING IS SUPPOSED TO OFFER, A PAYOFF.
A whole mess of bizarre plot and character revelations, a crapload of ambiguity in this post-Titan world, a lot of subplots that weren't neatly wrapped up, some truly cringeworthy dialogue, some of it bordering on unfortunate implications, a completely uneven tone that couldn't decide if it wanted to be uplifting or a straightforward tragedy, a total 180 on the very foundation of Eren's character and primary motivations....
What was the sole redeeming quality for myself? Only the fact that I was no longer the only guy to hate Hajime Isayama's guts when it was all said and done. But since that's not a point towards the actual story or its ultimate resolution (If you can even call it that), that probably doesn't count for shit, does it?
While plenty of fans may still disagree out there, the fact still stands that the AOT ending has a decidedly poor reputation because the fallout surrounding all of the aforementioned has been very real and very vocal. And even now, five weeks out, the AOE debate is still raging.
What's one redeeming value of the finale to all of you? Or was there none, even? To even the casual viewers who see this, I want to know.

Hard to believe that a show with as much going on as Attack on Titan can have absolutely NO entertainment value at all.
Guess the music by Hiroyuki Sawano and the mostly decent voice acting and spectacle simply are NOT enough to make me overlook the meaningless subplots, wasted character potential, totally senseless death scenes, the thinly veiled political agenda that replaced the Titans as a focus, and the enormously inappropriate and unsatisfying ending.
WHO ARE THE PEOPLE WHO ENJOY THIS SHIT?
Hurts to have taste.........it means I’m not as easily suckered by all this and as engrossed as you kids and your friends are. The millions of fools between here and fucking Japan.
But then again do I really want to be a part of your cult of personality? Especially one populated by Gabi Braun and Eremika fans? Fuck them.
AOT is not fun to watch or read. Not since the ocean. Needlessly overcomplicated, condescending in its presumed messages, disrespectful towards its own characters, obsessed with promoting useless ones.....and yes, clearly too lenient on genocide, a topic it championed and then shat all over with its unprofessional and tone deaf final stumble.
Those who are still waiting for the finale unironically, you should be embarrassed of yourselves.
Oh and you’re NOT getting your AOE. But you dumb fucks knew that. You just didn’t want to admit it. Hopefully Isayama gets dragged across the coals for the ending he clearly isn’t remorseful over.  Just remember kids, “He Became a mass murderer to save them”. And that was worthy of the words “Thank You” from Armin. Get the picture yet?

Such a senseless end...
You see folks? Even CBR admits at the end that Hange's sacrifice was bullshit. Doucheyama just wanted to stick one last hot poker in the eye before the final fumbling.
Drop dead, Isayama.
There is no Attack on Titan without Hange.

This day, five years ago...
Was the day Attack on Titan ceased to be an anime or a manga worth the time of day.
All because of one certain fucking character who Hajime Isayama insisted on pushing upon us at every turn, and in doing so cemented them as easily the most controversial and most loathed new character in the series.....
Tumblr media
Because this little bitch is responsible for one certain fucking scene from the most wretched and most uncalled for chapter in the saga....
One that is easily, the worst bit of fiction I have ever laid eyes on.....
Tumblr media
Five years ago today, Chapter 105......AKA Assassin’s Bullet.......the day Attack on Titan ripped away our beloved Potato Girl, Sasha Braus. One of the series’ best, and most beloved, tossed away like trash for a character who failed to justify their very existence.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I still remember how my heart skipped a beat and subsequently sank when I read the first leaks early that morning........And how sick I felt when the full story came out later. I was FURIOUS when this motherfucking chapter came out, and having to look back at even a single frame of that shit still hits hard now. I never forgave this goddamned chapter, nor have I ever forgiven the BASTARD responsible for it. Sasha Braus was a character with tons of untapped potential and the rest of the manga and season four of AOT with it have been blackened by the shadow that cast by this one goddamned death scene that was neither justified or of any value to the larger plot.  People have gone to insane lengths to justify Gabi Braun, even though the hate for her remains vocal. Her worst defenders have done everything to convince us that Sasha had no other role to play but to die so a character who has absolutely no redeeming qualities to speak of and an absurd level of plot armor could sweep in and essentially replaced Eren Yeager and company as the new main character, with the parallels between herself and Eren having the subtlety of a sledgehammer to the forehead.
And speaking of plot armor........We still have NO VALID EXPLANATION for why Sasha was the only member of the original squad to not have a breastplate. It’s a plot hole few have acknowledge or pursued with any seriousness, but it should be indicative of how much Isayama did not care how much the integrity of the plot suffered so long as he had his way with a character that NOBODY asked for.
To him and Gabi’s worst defenders across the web, I say they can all go fuck themselves.
Attack on Titan really dropped the ball with its final arcs, but THIS was where I drew the line. I was no longer invested in jackshit after that, and all I saw as I followed the remaining chapters was a concentrated effort to annihilate Sasha from the saga, and to reinforce Gabi as the unwanted replacement through a redemption arc that was from its inception, completely insincere and not earned. It’s such a poisonous moment in AOT’s history and I still remain overtly hostile towards those who defend the damage it did.  As far as I’m concerned, they had one simple task, to LEAVE SASHA ALONE.  They should have left well enough alone, and I am not done pursuing those who had an active hand in this. Some of those individuals will likely hear from me in the very near future. God willing, IN person. But, we shall see.
Assassin’s Bullet is one of the single ugliest things in all of anime, and Gabi Braun, you are still one of anime’s worst characters. Nobody gets points for their part in bringing this hideous scene to life, and you certainly don’t get points for defending its existence. And after that godawful finale, its existence has become even less justifiable.
This is not a subject I wanted to have to revisit tonight, but not to do so I feel would betray why I even set up this account, and an insult to a character I still cherish deeply. I still want Sasha Braus back, and I’m not gonna be deterred.  I only hope the finale episode of Attack on Titan proves the death knell for Isayama’s reputation, that man has fucked with our heads for so many years, he should not be rewarded for it. For me, the hate is definitely still very much personal.  I should’ve quit the series after Chapter 93 when Ymir was revealed to be gone.....Nothing but regrets to be had after Chapter 105 came out though. For the things I still love from Attack on Titan.......I regret ever watching it in the first place. That for me is Assassin’s Bullet’s legacy.  To hell with this chapter and the episode it spawned.  There is no Attack on Titan without Sasha Braus.

Attack on Titan has affected my health.....
Mentally AND physically.
And I cannot describe the intensity of the resentment I feel to watch people talk about this show like it has anything to say and to defend it for every bad decision it made past the ocean. Listening to AOT’s fanatics, it’s like they’re all on drugs. Me on the other end, I feel like I got cancer just watching these twats on Twitter.
You children listening, are OUT of your depth. How dare you defend something as heinous as this. Something that was rightfully accused of JUSTIFYING GENOCIDE. Reevaluate yourselves immediately if you are still watching AOT unironically with the ending in mind. And that goes double for the Gabi fans listening. You guys are partially responsible for AOT getting this bad for having defended such a bad call. Yeah. I’m levying blame onto you. And to the idiot who voices Gabi and I’m not sparing Bryce Papenbrook either, he’s about to make a major ass of himself. But Hajime Isayama, it all falls back on his shoulders. Little motherfucker. Four years his work has screwed with my head.
I don’t care if people hate me for my crusade against AOT, I hate your guts for defending it as a masterpiece.
This story ended with the Ocean. Isayama can come kiss my ass.

Feels like a damned eternity since the last part of the neverending fourth season aired. March 5th was it? Feels a lot longer than that. A lot longer.
Obviously not a good memory by any stretch of the mind. As someone who sees Hange’s end as just the last insult by Isayama before that final ending.
But God it feels so long ago.
But then again the last six weeks have been some of the longest and most distressing of my life. My grief over that, my resentment over that, was replaced by my grief for something more real.
I never thought I would say this, but I wish Assassin’s Bullet was the thing I was the most angry about right now. That’s how bad a place my mind is in right now.
Depression. Now I know what that really feels like.

Well at least it sounds like Attack on Titan, when it completes its 250 part “final” season will not be hitting that 100-episode benchmark, by the sounds of it.
Because it DOESN’T FUCKING DESERVE that.
Dragonball Z, Bleach, Fairy Tail, MHA, Yu Yu Hakusho, hell freaking One Piece......all 100+ episodes and probably time MUCH better spent than this.

One word to describe Titan?
UNWATCHABLE.
I think the fans are insane, I think they’re deluded, and I think this show had given them an unjust ego. And they have VERY poor taste in anime if they think season four deserves to bear this show’s name. I mean, come on, MAPPA doesn’t deserve another project for creating something that looks this ugly.
Isayama is a shitty writer, Lindsay Seidel is a shitty actress, the other actors don’t sound remotely like their old selves, the story is a shadow of what it was, the Gabi fandom singlehandedly toxified this fanbase with their godlike reverence of their little bastard child, the Eremika fans need to rethink their concept of how a relationship should function, and the timeskip needs to be banned for endorsing genocide, intentional or not.
This story ended with the Ocean. I genuinely hope the anime finale goes unchanged because hopefully that will shut these foolish fans up for good. I want the anime fans to feel disappointment. I want them to feel stupid for staying with this. And I want Isayama’s feet held to the fire for whatever he’s been doing for five years straight.

Does anybody really take the poster for the final part of this season seriously?
We all know how this shitshow ends, but is anyone really won over by the alliance that has been the subject of much scrutiny since the finale, where the few verifiable heroes of this series are aligned with the mass murderers who triggered the entire series of events leading to Eren’s rampage?  But most of all, does ANYBODY take serious Gabi and Falco’s position in this poster? Two fucking kids who are fighting alongside veterans of both sides of the war infinitely more experienced and better trained than they are?
What of Gabbitch? A fucking twelve-year old with a sniper rifle.......Is this really meant to be taken seriously by anyone? Is this what Gabi fans are enamored with? I’m still struggling for a reason why anybody actually likes this fucking cunt who adds NOTHING new or of value to the story. And yet Isayama sees fit to rob Sasha of her rightful place in the final act for her sake. And Ymir of her place for Falco’s. (Oh yeah, is he still the darling of this post-ocean fandom? Because I’m not won over)
Fucking embarrassing that people are still holding out for this with the knowledge of the ending in mind. Or that anyone self-identifies as a Gabi fan. Yeah, keep that to yourselves.
Not to mention the fans who regularly proclaim they to get their hearts broken. Careful what you wish for, you Hange Zoe fans out there, you do her much honor with that attitude.
Also pathetic that Isayama cheered when he should’ve been apologizing for said ending. The man only deserves the cold hard truth about what his entire last act was. Seriously, fuck his feelings, weeping little shithead.
