Completed another quilt. This colorful has Disney Princess, Winnie the Pooh and Tweety. The backing is 3 different fleece fabrics, 1 pink, 1 multi colored and 1 purple. Measures Approx 58 x 65

The basic patchwork was actually made by someone else but it was never quilted. I removed the backing and batting, repaired some seams, did all the quilt work, added some cute applique patches, then added a new fleece backing.

ok change of plans. got a pair of crushed velvet wide leg hot fuchsia pants in the mail yesterday that i'd ordered off depop and despaired of getting in time that actually fit fantastically (slightly too big in the waist but nbd) but are too long so i'm biting the bullet and scheduling sewing studio time at my old job (fabric & yarn store) so i can hem them myself and we're scrapping the black sparkly pants idea. the rest of my sequin appliques for my jacket are also supposed to come in the mail today so i booked extra time on the machines so i can hopefully get some of those nailed down which will save me SO much time from hand sewing. plus i'll have hot irons and big tables and feedback from my old coworkers who will tell me if there's any easy way i can bring in the waist on the pants without ruining my life and might let me use the huge back studio by myself if i ask nice. also there's sergers there. TOMORROW!

#i feel really good about this i'm glad i'm doing it this way #i'd thought about it earlier but thought it would be too much hassle to have to go there and do things and pay money #but it will really save me so much time to use a machine. and not work on my tiny desk #if i really want to i can also buy iron-on backing and just iron on the appliques while i'm there with their irons #it'll really just make so much of this so much easier. and it's not even that expensive. AND i have store credit #so really it's free. #chatpost #i'm actually amazed how well the pants fit btw bc it's a brand i've never tried before and somehow they're almost perfect #obviously way too long bc i'm short but i'm very impressed how high the waist is bc usually i like extra high & these are. nice #and even if in the end i decide to do the black pants i'll have these for something else later. they're very cool

don't have a photo to post bc I forgot to take one before I put my quilting box away for the night BUT after almost a month of making very minimal progress I am once again working on the d20 baby quilt! my friend found out this week that baby viper is gonna be a boy which gives me the next color of fabric I need to buy for the outside of the quilt (background will be a light grey), not that I'm even close to there yet, but it has given me the inspiration to work on it again

as a reminder this is the design I'm working on, it will all be hand-stitched paper pieced hexagons! (with handmade bais/applique tape for the dividing lines on the d20) and I have until October to finish it, which is great because I'm currently 41 hexagons in - out of 351

#baby viper quilt #crafting #so I'm going to momocon at the end of the month and i think my goal is to have all of the d20 pieced together by then #it's slightly ambitious considering I'm now working a full time job and my summer classes start next week #but really it's only like another 10 hours of work across 17 days #oh shit there's only 17 days till momocon oops #anyway the goal is to have the d20 together #and potentially the applique tape put on to really define it #and then i would like to have like ~100 of the background pieces pinned and cut to take with me #because its a surprisingly easy thing to baste these hexagons on the go #just chilling in the back of a panel or in the AMV room basting hexagons #when people ask what its for i can pull out the d20 center part and show it off #it's gonna be a great time #although this is the first momocon where i won't be bringing any new cosplays which makes me a little sad #at least im still crafting and i can bring this project with me #looking back at what I've planned in the tags though i do need to specify that the hexagons will be 10ish hours #no clue how long the bias/applique tape is going to take #historically cutting & pinning 63 hexagons at once took me almost two hours #so the cutting and pinning of 100ish hexagons is gonna be a few more hours #but i still think i can do it if i work diligently
