So I guess this is mostly just relevant to you because I thought of it while rereading cura te ipsum, but also, I was rereading cura te ipsum and this hit me like a freight train and then I went and checked video release dates and-- There is exactly one row of videos on Tango's channel between his final episode of Last Life, where he accidentally blows himself up with his own death trap, and his final episode of Hermitcraft 8, where he accidentally blows himself up with the moon.

...i was going to make a joke about "haha that's sure how tango and explosives goes", but i think i'm just sad about this. man always tries so hard and what does he get for it...

How do the nominations work? Is there any value to me nominating characters that I am reasonably confident I am the only one nominating, or is it just the top 64 (perhaps 128? could i tempt you to make it 256?) most nominated candidates who make it to the poll? To put it another way, does my special skrunkly obscure literally-a-tumblr-sexyman who probably has like ten votes max have a chance at all, or should I be campaigning for more people to nominate it?

Probably if you have less than ten nominations you're not going to make it into the poll. We're over 1000 nominations now, with up to ten nominations on each, and the high numbers are very high. Grian's been nominated 215 times. So if you really want your blorbo to make it into the poll, convincing friends to nominate is probably the way to go. However, we are going to be releasing the spreadsheet of all the votes eventually, so every vote will be visible, if not in the poll.

guess whos insane about skizzleman and impulse in the life series again

its me. theres limited life spoilers here so like, if thats not your gig, now you know. did you guys see. that in this session, session 3, both Impulse and Skizz independently decided that they needed to give their allies items that would help them survive? So they both did a lot of personal hard work to make sure that the people they trust the most would always have these items on them in case of danger? and. and the items are Ender Pearls and Golden Apples? Items that both of them have history with? For Impulse and Ender Pearls... Remember the Ender Pearl Stasis Chamber that saved and failed Impulse many times in 3rd Life? Remember Impulse Ender Pearling to Bdubs, to his demise, in 3rd Life? Remember Impulse having the option to save himself from falling off the Ghast Farm with Ender Pearls but dying because he focused too hard on the boat trick in Last Life? Remember Impulse designing an escape route for him and Bdubs if they ever needed it, one that required Ender Pearls to fully complete, in Double Life? For Skizzleman and Golden Apples... (well, shoutout to this post by @aquelondungeonmaster about Skizz and Golden Apples because HOLY SHIT IT MAKES ME EAT DIRT AND WALLS!!!!) Remember Skizz being given a Golden Apple by Ren for some leather, and in a way solidifying Skizz’s loyalty in 3rd Life? Remember Skizz giving out Golden Apples to the Red Army before rushing to his own death in 3rd Life? Remember Skizz trying but failing to save himself from getting killed by eating a Golden Apple in Last Life? Remember Skizz not being in Double Life, the only series that had to ban Golden Apples because they would break things? What I’m saying is, there’s history here. History of these two with these specific items either saving or failing to save them in the previous series...and not only that, they’re kinda symbolic of how these two treat conflict. Skizz gives his allies, the people he loves and cares for, Golden Apples. Something to help them face conflict, something that will make them stronger then before. Impulse gives his allies, the people he loves and cares for, Ender Pearls, something to help them escape conflict and live another day. Isn’t it just awfully symbolic of them? For both of them to give out items to help their allies that lines up with how they treat conflicts, while also having a lot of history with these items specifically? how the FUCK isn’t the life series scrippted WHAT ARE THESE CONNECTIONNNNS????? Well, just be cautious: just because the Institute folks apparently know what they're doing apparently doesn't mean they won't try to do any war crimes themselves, and you should be ready to use your best judgement and abstain from war crimes. Also I'm pretty sure social interaction is on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and is also a Need in the sims the video game and You Are Not Immune To Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs i'm pretty sure.

oh well if it’s in the Sims, then obviously. Surely a game where you spend 12 hours making breakfast is a reasonable metric for all human behavior, regardless of any extenuating circumstances. Thank you so much for your valuable input.

i know absolutely nothing about yugioh except for like three character names and the millennium puzzle (probably not relevant here?), but that yugioh au is CRUNCHY so i'm gonna be an enabler here: please do tell me more!

SOME MORE CHARACTER THOUGHTS:

docm77 is a rival-type. he is the head of the hivemind group, very wealthy, and somewhat notoriously a sore loser. luckily, he can play simply the best cards the game has. he's very intense and forms a rivalry with etho after etho beats him in a ""friendly"" before the tournament starts. he... seems like he has a lot to prove, too. etho wonders who to. after all, there aren't many people closer to the peak than doc.

cleo and joe are both beef's people. both of them are trained to judge matches. cleo is playing the tournament herself; joe begs that he has bad luck. listen, even when he DOES win a coin flip, it's like - you know what, he's not gonna... go into detail. just know he's thinking it. cleo ends up making friends with etho, in a 'i'm not intimidated by you and you are properly frightened of me' sort of way, but after the initial tournament arc, they keep showing up, having taken a liking to etho. despite their prickly-seeming exterior, they're actually pretty chill, and despite knowing a bit more about what's going on than most - well.

the three of them are all college students - they live in Roaring Metropolis and it's implied that they all attend the same school. Sandwich and Croissant are part of a trio of best friends, along with that other guy. Pizza and Sandwich have a mutually friendly relationship, as well :>

Sandwich is a STEM major of some variety or another, a hard worker & a very good cook. She's fond of math and engineering and uses this knowledge to construct increasingly elaborate, structurally sound Dagwoods. She has a habit of slacking in her studies & skipping classes to work shifts, which their friend is implied to be kind of neggy about, and hopes to open a shop of her own someday. They are very close with Spinach, who is fond of singing her praises :]

Croissant is a very sweet and hammily enthusiastic mechanic with a knack for complex technology, who works as an agent for the Time Balance Department (TBD). In a number of Bad Timelines(tm), they fall from grace into a state of incurable bored malaise and become Timekeeper Cookie, an amoral chrono-deity who toys with reality for their amusement - although she's determined to prevent all that from occurring. Her relationship with her future self was veeeeeery rocky at first, but they grow to be on friendly terms. Enemies to siblings

Pizza is a sleep-deprived workaholic who works tireless hours at her delivery job so she can fund her studies and pursue her passions, because not even sentient pastries are free from the bloodthirsty spectre of student loans I guess. She talks like a chill stoner. She rides a delivery bike with a horn you can honk when her skill is activated (It doesn't do anything outside of making a funny noise). She's not a fan of talkative people or Sans Undertale, the latter of whom is locked in relentless pursuit of forcing her to lie down for a few fucking minutes at the absolute least.

iirc scaleswind had like symbolic political significance due to being Irene's birthplace according to legend, so that's probably what okhasis was getting out of it. not sure if that actually makes sense, but if I recall correctly it might be the answer supplied by canon.

i believe it was that she founded scaleswind not that she was born there but there might’ve been a religious aspect? i can’t remember if o’khasis was specifically irene worshipping but garroth and zane both had big fuckin crosses on them so like. christian coded??????????maybe
