rínien, my darling, is the youngest of the three. she is ten years younger than boromir and five years younger than faramir. she is a formidable warrior with a courageous heart and an extremely stubborn mind. she cares very little of lore, unlike faramir and their father, and craves the feeling of a sword in her hand or a bow on her back. she loves a good fight, no matter the odds. though, it is still rare and highly looked down upon for a women to be in battle. it’s one of the many reasons their father detests her. but boromir encouraged that side of her and taught her how to properly fight, just as he’d done with faramir when he was of age. he believed in her and never shamed or belittled her of wanting to fight for their family.

but more of rínien as a character, she is quite complicated. with her brothers and fellow gondorians, she can remain her true self. a bit boastful at times, especially after a few cups of ale, but she is known to be brave, unyielding, and dedicated to the people of gondor. however, when rínien is around strangers or potential threats, a wall is built within her. she can be cold, cynical, and often unpleasant to be around. it’s very difficult for her to place her trust in others. rínien remains guarded, both emotionally and physically, until there comes a definite moment where she can confidently call someone a companion or a friend. it definitely takes a long time for her to trust aragorn, but that’s a whole other discussion.

she is paired with another main oc of mine named arion. they are the embodiment of “he was sunshine, i was midnight rain”. he is first, and foremost, a true himbo. listen, i got a thing for himbos and it’s my fic so i do what i want lol. he was one of the free folk of eriador and became a ranger of the north when he was old enough. arion is as open and honest as they come. he is true to himself and shows everyone the kind of man he is. he is compassionate, selfless, heroic, humble, and so much more. definitely drinks the respect women juice as he should and bc i said so. while i still plotting to have all my ideas connect cohesively with each other, i do plan on having him and aragorn as a duo prior to the fellowship and having their friendship become a big part of their characters.

what i do have figured out is rínien and arion’s relationship. as aforementioned, rínien doesn’t trust people easily, meanwhile arion does. most of the time, it works in his favor. they balance each other out and compliment their different personalities. rínien can be distant, arion can be welcoming. and so on. they help each other through so much, especially after the loss of boromir and rínien, eventually, revenge arc. but they are so wholesome to me and i very much enjoy them!!

1. What were their first impressions of one another?

Silvia/Arion: I think she found him very well, open and like - she kinda falls onto the rhythm and ultimately become besties. Silvia doesn't really have anyone, and now she has Arion - and like, its just, life falls balance yknow since the first day.

Arthur/Raylene: BASTARD, but....she found him very intriguing also? And like, intoxicated Raylene found him very enchanting. And, like - that kiss *squeals*!!! She remembers it all too well, and well; she wants him. She wants to have that with him.

2 .What was their first date like? If they haven’t been on a date yet, how would it go?

Silvia/Arion: haven't gone on a date in canon, but in my headcanons; their dates would be...weirdly chaotic and fun. and it ends with something they both like together hehe.

Arthur/Raylene: WELL, if we count as the date where Arthur dont pick MC hsjsjsk. In my headcanon, or in my head; I think Ray would pretty nervous about it, cause well; Arthur is like well; super..high standard..in a sense and she wants to make it perfect. And, well; i think they would have a good one, very..classy me thinks, but ends well!

28. Are they affectionate in public? Is it too much?

Arion/Silvia: VERY. I feel like, they both will be the couple with SO MUCH pda. and like, it can get sick seeing them super clingy, but hey; them happy <3

Arthur/Raylene: Public not really, I think they both are more private on showing affection, but some kisses here and there would be good for them! clingy on ray's part but not too much!

29. How are they affectionate in private?

Arion/Silvia: same as the above!

Arthur/Ray: honestly, i feel like they both are definitely more affectionate in private than public. Like, super passionate kisses only for their eyes only, and the rest is history weee!

50. Is there anything that scares them about their friendship/relationship?

Silvia: Well, she's afraid of screwing up if Arion doesn't share the same feelings and sentiment. She doesn't really have much anymore, and if she loses him too. she doesnt wanna lose him as a best friend too after everything yknow!

Raylene: This girl worries TOO much, and she definitely would be scared that she's not good enough - and doesnt fit that standard. But, she's working on it - and she just, a people pleaser; she is scared that she wont make him happy yknow in the relationship, but i know she will. Its just nerves taking over hehe!

Manipulation tactics don't work on Arion. It's impossible to get him to do something he doesn't want to do -- and as a man who would be very happy being reclusive and seen by literally no one except his mate (and, ugh, his children), the fact that he's kind of gone no-contact with the world enforces this. Can't be asked to do shit if the world doesn't know who, or where you are.

Arion's people are naturally reclusive, oft shying away from more developed places, retreating further and further into the deepest depths of the woods til most think their Clans are just names to embellish stories. Arion himself is from two different Clans who weren't supposed to interbreed, something about a prophecy or someshit -- you don't get told much when you're not supposed to exist and a lot of adults just want to kill you for no good reason. Currently, as a ripened old adult, he lives with a camp that's basically a bunch of refugees, though they have their own culture and three gender system/species. Oh, and they participate in ritual maimings to appease the old forest gods -- it's okay though, Arion's children are mixed, so they're not eligible for said maimings. until one of them is. Soooo... basically his circle of people isn't that great. His 'peaceful refuge' are missing some key body parts, and there's always the possibility that anyone tangentially related to his children could just, up and knife 'em just for existing because of some dumb prophecy none of them are privy to.

This is Emory Scott's world, and we are all just living in Her World. Therefore, the circle goes like this:

In Damon Torrance's world, Arion Ashby is his bottle of Pringles, in Emory Scott's world, Damon Torrance is her bottle of Pringles. Funnily enough, the things Damon looked down on and made fun of Arion in his world, is the same things Emory looked down on and made fun of Damon in Hers. They're all just some empty bottles of Pringles to Emory Scott, the Mother; always making loud weird noises out of nowhere, but upon inspection, were always so shallow and empty on the inside.

Pringles Damon and Pringles Arion look pretty similar on the outside too, only a slight differ in their coloured clothings and distasteful flavours. Till this day, it is said to be that this could be THE most socially humiliating cursed cycle Damon Torrance could ever be trapped in. It is also said to be an ongoing allegation and inside joke among his fellow infamous Pringle Circle, the HorseChips, that he had to keep on fighting against their teasing, because it was one of the THE biggest slander to his prickly character. Him? and Arion? A kin to each other? Oh, the horror! The Shivers!

Unfortunately for Damon Torrance, a re-known own-kin-hater, this is Emory Scott's world, and he was just living in Her World and still is a mere -as you guess it- an empty yet colourful bottle of Pringles. Perhaps, if Damon, the prickly bottle of Pringle was so not lacking of substance, maybe, things could have been different. Maybe, Arion Ashby would not have been his kin and a most intimate neighbour, at least, not by heart and behaviour, but it is what it is, thus Damon Torrance would have to just settle down with this unwanted information haunting him for the rest of his shallow non-life.
