Okay, I was going to explain a possible path for a worm of the string au with Sparrow complaining one day that the puppet can't leave the chamber to relive the fever of being in one place and that her thesis being rejected and then Caper reading the thesis and iterating that idea and then he somehow manages to get off the string.

But getting off the umbilical without reason or explanation is more funny!

Imagine if that starts happening to the others iterators?

Also, how would Notos and Haboob react to Sparrow?

Now, you mentioned that when Sparrow killed the red centipede she was not in the respawning cycle. What is the age that the Ancients enter the cycle?

What are the four seasonal gods like generally? Sol seems to just be A Little Bit Chaotic, Midnight is said to be benevolent, but what about Rock and One Eye? (I know One Eye requires sacrifices? But ig that wouldn't necessarily make him malicious? Idk fsgcghdfj)

I'd like to learn more in general! Gods and mythology go brrrrr

ALL of them can actually take sacrifices, it just so happens that only Sol and One Eye have actually done it in the timeframe of BB.

It doesn't HAVE to be blood either, it can be anything of value. Sol and One Eye are just like that.

SOL

He gets bored easily.

It's not that he's evil, he's just self-absorbed. Everything is about having fun.

He really was a pretty terrible god, though. Fallenleaf comes to learn his services are in high demand, and he was really needed.

You might think he's vengeful, but he's not. If you beat him according to the rules they agreed on, that's winning fair and square.

I feel like he feels kind of bad he abandoned Harry so quickly, like he knows it was a dick move and he kiiiiinda doesn't want to think about it.

Something about him is more mortal than anyone realizes, but even I'm not sure how. He's strange compared to other gods, as if he didn't lose himself in the ascension to godhood.

Ironic for a God of Change.

MIDNIGHT

Is lonely. So lonely.

She can give you eternal life, but no one ever takes it. Why does no one ever take it?

But she's too nice to overstay her welcome or defy a request. And too cowardly to explore the world and find more people who leave eventually.

So she just stays in her den by the ocean, hosting all who pass through.

Minds her own business and draws cats to her as visitors.

Fallenleaf liked her at first, but has actually grown a negative view of her. Midnight wants something and won't go get it, using her immense power to just stare at the ocean.

What a waste!

I feel like she keeps a distance from mortals because she feels like she has some kind of obligation to not interfere. Besides, what good is a god no one wants to visit?

Shouldn't people WANT to go out of their way to seek her wisdom??

(And then she drags them towards her anyway lmao. Actually a very funny character. I have thoughts about her)

ONE EYE

He likes to see what words people use for him.

He likes to see what people call upon him, too.

This entity is not one who forces himself upon the land. He simply comes when he is called and they call him evil. Another one of his many names, he says.

At leaaaast... that's what he says. He is a VERY vindictive being when he feels slighted. If you declare war upon him, he will finish it.

"Scorched Earth" translates directly.

He can be incredibly cordial though. Surprisingly so. I actually have been thinking of having him visit each Clan in Thunderstar's Justice, meeting with its leaders, testing who would be his greatest partner.

During Hollyleaf's Century, Lion's Roar summoned him with a certain number of sacrifices.

But once One Eye moved into his body as a vessel, he didn't let go.

He was still using Lion's Roar as a vessel in DOTC. Lion's Roar had lost all control of his body, practically hollowed out.

I have a really clear feeling of his personality but it's hard to put into words. He's charming. He's well-spoken. His words smell like roses and sound like trickling blood. He asks to be invited and refuses to leave. If you offend him he will destroy you. He is interested in you. He watches hungrily like a snake.

And he ate Tom, partially because he was delicious, but primarily because he was a disobedient and disrespectful rat who did not know his place.

Star Flower is expected to know her place, too. She serves him. He is kind to her, and she loves him, but if she has to give up her life for him-- he expects her service.

As a god of war, sun, and fire, he's every bit as dangerous as you think he is.

You don't kill Gods. You trick them. Sun Shadow tricked him, seeing his body was unstable, and challenged,

"You are not the sun. Behold the sun that shines above us! It is there and you are here!"

"Haa. Your taunt shall not work. I am the sun and I shine just as bright."

"You do not shine now. I see no shine."

"Then behold!"

And that's how Sun Shadow got the guy to explode himself inside his shitty battered vessel LMAO

I have this full story in my head I just need to write it out tbh.

ROCK

He wants to be left alone. He does not like you

He wasn't always this way. He is a god of measurement, archival, the night sky, memory. Quintessence and moonbeams, that which subsisteth, and what seems.

And once upon a time, he hosted a trial for those who wished to be his temporary vessels. Going down into the tunnels wasn't a trial for ALL warriors, just those who sought his ancient knowledge.

Once upon a time, he believed that the purpose of knowledge was to be shared, but only to those who would do right with it. He chose his vessels carefully and benevolently.

But what happened in Hollyleaf's Century changed him. It killed him. A selfish tyrant, the actions of her opposition, the senseless destruction of the victorians humans...

And then his vessel, Jay's Wing, was murdered. He felt him die and he couldn't save him; he's just a god of truth. Not of affecting it.

He's kinda got Sotha Sil vibes. His last big action was burying his vessel and casting a great spell upon a patch of Old Growth forest in what's now ThunderClan; the humans did not see it for many years, as if it simply wasn't important.

When the illusion faded, the humans simply believed they had not noticed it, or had underestimated its size.

Funfact: humans have big brains and lots of meat and are easy to disorient. That patch has a reputation for confusing people, hikers get lost there a lot.

Doesn't like people. Especially doesn't like Sol or Fallenleaf, refusing to distinguish that they are two different entities.

"You won't be, eventually. No I won't help you avoid that fate. Fuck you"

Has a softness for Jayfeather in particular and no one else. He would have let Hollypaw and those kits drown if he wasn't part of the group, that day.

But also Jay knows how to annoy him. If it wasn't for the fact he was the reincarnation of his beloved and tragically killed Final Vessel, he would have let him drown long ago.

Lightly malicious, in a way. Doesn't value mortal life. Mean.

Kinda ironic that Jay's reincarnation is more like Rock in this life than he is to Jay's Wing. Rock would lament that his influence has ruined him.

4) BB rare ships. I can't explain it, I just LIVE for that "omg wait is this a thing????" feeling. I just enjoy the feeling of surprise and I can't explain why, but all three of you probably saw me getting bouncy like an excited dog in the tags every time I see a rareship xD

Spoilers and a bit of a rant below the cut:

Sooooooooo sorry that Yang once again does what she usually does in putting up her strong side as well as going with the theme of the episode in acceptance of death as not a bad thing. That she’s not bawling her eyes out, which would be extremely out of character for her in the first place. Or that she’s not stalling out the plot by being locked in the fetal position unable to do anything. She’s stronger than that, though it does show via her frantically picking away the leaves from tree-Ruby and even her reaction towards the cat’s freakazoid-Ruby’s. Like Yang has NEVER been the type to go woobie mode and for damn good reason, cause it’s an overused trope aimed at female characters in particular. Also on the “the episode was so short” “only 15 mins”, like we got:

- Summer VA, Summer lore, and Summer design

- Baby Yang and Baby Ruby

- What happened to Alyx

- What does Ascension look like via multiple examples (an external one in the gem people and an active internal one via Ruby)

- The Blacksmith not only showing up but also being confirmed as a part of the Tree

- Ruby starting her dive into who she wants to be

- Curious Cat not being able to leave Ever After and going attack mode on WBY & J. As well as revealing they killed Alyx

- Further showcasing bonding between BB

Like wtaf is this nonsense about “nothing happening” ffs, it’s the 2.0 of the filler garbage. How much needs to happen to justify some people? Cause in no way was I disappointed, if anything I’m surprised by how much they covered in those 15 mins.

Good lord, imagine if MC gets hurt somehow and is forced to be in the limbo space alone trying to reach the Watcher but he took over the character's body trying to complete the mission after MC makes her mind about not closing the rifts...

I still think that the Watcher will be a bad guy but maybe not the main bad guy as we yet to see the Ash Empress (premise for book 3??); so what if the Watcher is literally like Aerin in book 1. What I mean is that The Watcher was once a prince, like Valax (she is a princess) and obviously he was a realm walker like MC and Aerin. So what if he was forced to give up "his claim on the throne to the Ash Empire" to become THE Watcher after someone else who existed for millennia, simply tricked into accepting the role of the watcher, and I feel like he is training/preparing MC for the ascension (lack of the better word)

Jesus tap dancing Christ, I hope they don't repeat the ES route because I haven't recovered, but also they could do a not a real ending like they did in BB - with MC becoming a literal goddess of blood. It would be interesting.

Favorite Bloodborne Headcanons: Part One

Some of these are my own completely self-indulgent ideas and some are popular HCs I’ve heard from others in the BB fandom, especially here on Tumblr recently. Some are based off of canon and others are purely just for fun. I’m making this list for writing reasons :)

1. The Good Hunter loved to encourage the Doll’s independence and individuality as a living being within the dream. He would offer to give her a name and gave her gifts that could possibly help her discover new ideas and interests. They bonded through this, in a sort of classic human/sentient A.I. kind of way. 

2. Willem founded Byrgenwerth alongside Caryll, a woman from Hemwick that had shared his fascination with the unseen world and the labyrinth below Yharnam. 

3. Gehrman and Maria shared a father-daughter type of bond and Gehrman only crafted the Doll after Maria’s death in honor of her memory. However, he wasn’t satisfied and asked Laurence to help him beckon the Moon in an attempt to resurrect the real Maria. Yet this wish was deliberately contorted by the Moon when it trapped Gehrman in the Hunter’s Dream and brought the doll to life instead, thereby creating a “surrogate” for him. Gehrman was torn up with guilt over this and ignored the Doll out of shame.

4. Old Hunter Henriett was a descendent of Simple Gratia and inherited her profound strength. 

5. Henryk was the father of Viola and father-in-law to Gascoine. 

6. Iosefka and Fausefka were twin sisters from Cainhurst that fled to Yharnam after the Vileblood genocide. They reacted to this violence in opposite ways, with Iosefka dedicating her life to helping others in peace and Fausefka becoming obsessed with the idea of “fixing” humanity and their horrific flaws via ascension and scientific experimentation. 

7. Djura and Eileen were comrades and had both lived far longer than what could be considered natural. Their camaraderie was founded in shared loneliness due to their chosen professions. 

8. Ludwig and Lady Maria were good friends and bonded over their similar moral values in combat. They were famously the two most chivalrous hunters in Yharnam before everything fell apart. 

9. The Bloody Crow of Cainhurst was a relative of Lady Maria and an apprentice to Eileen. He went mad and never succeeded her, which is why Eileen still remains in her work at such an old age and why she’s initially hesitant to pass the mantle to the Good Hunter. It’s only after the Bloody Crow’s death that Eileen feels secure enough to allow herself to pass on her badge to a younger hunter. 

10. Arianna was the illegitimate half-sister of Queen Annalise and was cast out by her family for that very reason. She made her living giving away her blood on the streets to commoners, hence why they called her a lady of the evening. Women who sold their blood without any connection to the Healing Church were considered heretics in Yharnam. 

11. Yurie was called the Last Scholar because she returned to Byrgenwerth to seek Willem’s tutelage despite having been a member of the Choir for quite some time. When she found Willem sitting rather lifelessly, she decided to stay at the school and defend it, waiting for Willem to one day return to his former state.

12. The first Hunter of Hunters wove their crowfeather garb from the wings of slaughtered Carrion Crows that they had killed and each successor did the same as a rite of passage. 

13. Old Yharnam could have been saved if many of the old Hunters hadn’t been  lost to bloodlust and taken to the nightmare, or slaughtered by the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst during that red-moon night. 

14. Micolash and Rom were Master Willem’s notoriously obsessive and intelligent children. They left Byrgenwerth when Laurence did and went on to form the Choir and the School of Mensis, sharing secrets like the Auger of Ebrietas and the Call Beyond. Rom was the head of the Choir and formed a bond with Ebrietas. However, everything eventually got out of control when Rom ascended and Micolash went insane trying to catch up to his sister. His methods turned cruel and he ended up trapping himself in a nightmare along with his students. All the while, unknown to him, Rom helped to conceal his shenanigans from another plane of consciousness. However, the alliance between the Choir and the School was broken, with their common members becoming enemies. 

15. The Choir was called so because they were originally sent by the church to sing to Ebrietas as a way to make contact. It was believed for a time that Great Ones responded to human voices that sounded somewhat as loud and powerful as their own. A vast multitude of people speaking or singing in unison captured this sense of divinity quite well, and the School of Mensis adopted the method to sing to the Amygdala later on as well. This is why chanting can be heard in the Unseen Village. 

16. Caryll was blind and only could read Braille (or whatever Yharnam’s equivalent would be), which is why she was more perceptive to divine voices and what they “looked like” inside one’s mind. Willem was inspired by this, hence why he donned the eye-cap. 

17. Lady Maria had been training to be a Cainhurst Knight before she joined the hunters. 

18. Logarius was originally the king’s executioner at Cainhurst, but betrayed his people and led the aptly-named Executioners against them later on. 

19. The Bloody Crow was the deadliest hunter alive in the waking world for many years and was the reason there were not more sane hunters roaming the streets by the time the Good Hunter arrived. 

20. Edgar regretted all of his life choices the moment he met Micolash.

21. Archibald was basically Micolash’s lieutenant when it came to carrying out physical experiments and rituals. He commanded the hunters of Yahargul, the Snatchers, and harnessed the Darkbeast as a weapon. He was a terrifying and ruthless individual. 

22. Queen Annalise gave birth to her child of blood during one of the first blood moons, but it was killed during the Executioner’s raid along with the king of Cainhurst. This is the reason her hair is white. 

23. The great tree in the Hunter’s Dream is an ash tree and therefore a reference to Yggdrasil, the mythological tree that linked the worlds of gods and men together. 

24. Annalise was not the first queen of Cainhurst, but she was the first undead queen. 

25. The Moon Presence often sang a very mournful song in the Hunter’s Dream (Moonlit Melody), but only the Doll and hunters with extremely high insight could hear it. 

26. The Hunter’s Bone belonged to Lady Maria, who had practiced quickening all of her life, even as a knight at Cainhurst, and later inspired many other old hunters to do the same. 

27. Alfred was a an extremely young child when Cainhurst was attacked and was orphaned by the event. Nevertheless, he was among the very few residents that managed to flee, and was abandoned to grow up under the Healing Church’s influence in Yharnam. He believed that he was “pure-blooded” with parents that had been murdered by Vilebloods and that Martyr Logarius saved the entire city of Yharnam from Cainhurst. 

28. Gehrman was directly responsible for the Orphan of Kos’ death and was punished for it by the Moon Presence. This is why he was trapped in the dream with a mock surrogate for his own daughter-like figure.

29.  The Bloody Crow was the one to set up Viola’s death in order to send Gascoigne and Henryk both mad. He did this to wear down and isolate Eileen so that she would finally face him after years of reluctance.

30. Brador was the one to kill Laurence.

Another Summer Alt idea, it’s Caster Baobhan Sith, she gets to be the Summer servant with the serious NP (like BB in her 3rd ascension), and it’s Garden of Lost Will, which is basically Inverted Garden of Avalon for her enemies (so massively reduced crit chance, HP loss of some kind each turn, and NP drain each turn for 3 turns.) If they REALLY wanted to be devious it could also have an immediate damage component like how Merlin in Babylon had an immediate heal on Garden of Avalon).

My latest five star pulls and the frustrating thing is that I haven’t had time or energy to build any of them properly, but OH MY GOD MY LUCK, because it went like this: - Kokomi was guaranteed and took a bit, but I had the primos and I wanted her, because I suck at dodging on mobile, so I need a good healer.  It’s a pain to collect all those pearls for her, but I’m looking forward to having her built!  She’s fun to run around as and I like putting her with Ayato for the hydro bonus! - THEN:  Oh, hey, Cyno seems like a fun electro DPS character, I’ll half-seriously pull for him, since I like the smashy smashy characters!  I got him at like 60 or 70 pity, but at least I won the 50/50!  I start building him, no real solid artifacts yet, but the real problem is those scarabs.  It’s made harder by that I’m way behind on quests, so I can’t get at any of the underground ones, which means just getting the above ground ones every other day.  This is exhaustingly slow.  I am ready to scream about those fucking scarabs. - THEN:  While I’m working on Cyno, everyone is raving about Nahida, so might as well try for her, since I’m still collecting primos from Sumeru and these quests and can afford it.  I got her early at 40 or 45!  AND I won the 50/50 again!  NICE.  She is ADORABLE and I LOVE HER and I’m working on her last ascension, the gem farming is exhausting, the artifact farming is even worse, but at least I can get those lotus flowers pretty easily.  She is SO MUCH FUN to run around as, I have almost completely stopped being a Eula main just because I want to run around with her + Raiden Shogun. - THEN:  Well, since I’ve got the primos, might as well start building pity, since I don’t really need/want Yoimiya, but she might be fun.  Or maybe I’ll pull on Nahida’s banner, her C2 constellation is supposed to be really good.  I might lose the 50/50 and I really want the Wanderer, so I should start building pity now.  AT FIFTEEN I GET JEAN COMING HOME.  I HAVE WANTED JEAN FOREVER, PRETTY MUCH SINCE I STARTED PLAYING THE GAME.  JEAN IS A PRECIOUS BB AND I LOVE HERRRRR.  I DON’T EVEN KNOW HOW TO BUILD HER BUT I LOVE HER??? NOW:  I am sitting on a guarantee, though, who knows how far into pity I’ll have to go, but I have time to save up since I already have Yae Miko and Childe.  I don’t know if I’ll even pull on either banner for Layla (despite that I like having at least one of all 4* characters), because I REALLY want Wanderer. Anyway, between these four and that Kazuha still isn’t fully built with decent artifacts and that I want to build my Keqing finally and that I sometimes barely just get my dailies + resin used up because I don’t have a lot of energy for the game, in a way it’s frustrating, but it’s also fun, there’s that feeling of “There’s so much to do!” that I miss from when I first started playing the game. So, how’s everyone else’s game going?

yang could volunteer to ascend to follow ruby. it would make sense for her to want to but she would prolly forget the progression of her relationship with blake in that case. but the cc did say the heart rarely forgets so maybe she remembers her after ascension.

This kinda theory really seems to be doing the rounds, huh? I don't know, my dude, I just don't see the point in WBY ascending, they've made their peace with their identity, reaffirmed it, have a purpose. At most, I can see Jaune ascending. But as the Cat said, "It's not a place you go, it's a place you know." - but then, I don't suppose the characters would know that.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about the Bees. It would be too messy and chaotic to build up to this huge moment with them just for them to 'break up' or 'forget' ten minutes later. It just doesn't serve the narrative. Yang might want to find her sister, but I don't think the show will go down a path that undoes BB.

So let's put the actual her on screen using art that you made.

She has a lot of names for different occasions, and is a kinda complicated beast to explain.

So, BB huh.

She was the commentator sona that I used but effectively became her own character, a fae-like being who had a pet extradimensional horror that fed on the emotions of people that fought inside of it named The Alleyway, particularly the strong ones released when someone's hard kept secret was revealed. She was basically using this power as a battery to ascend to godhood, and the tournament as a whole was her way of collecting various pieces of "Narrative Relevance" or, basically just MacGuffins.

She started by stealing the Lore Book, aka the submission form. She now knew the basic components of each character. Then she stole various spirits, which were used as a way to further characterization. Then a sword that could destroy fragments of deific power from Celadon, and absorbed the Bitch Box a place that simply nullified all things inside it and trapped them outside of time. Then various forms of Slutch which were primordial soup mimicking the powers of the original three Cods in CPUK (timeline splitting, acceleration, undeath). Then by taking the powers of someone who existed outside of everything, Schrödinger, she gained the ability to kind of cut things between averages? Like slice the barrier between concepts that are diametrically opposed. This doesn't come up cause she thinks it's fucked up.

Then she "absorbed" the Alleyway (by slicing the barrier between consumption and nonconsumption, removing the Alleyway, gaining its power, and not killing it) and sent herself directly to a parallel universe.

Eventually she just became powerful enough to become the God of Knowledge and mellowed the fuck out. It was revealed that she only *wanted* this power so she could share everything ever learned with everyone. Basically assuring herself that she could ruin everything because she would know how to fix it at a later date. Everything she did end up fucking up was either so minor that it didn't matter, or was fixed after her ascension. Overall she's considered like, a pretty alright person?

As the Abbess she created a gigantic library formed from the Alleyway and the sum of all of her knowledge, free for anyone. It's hard to explain in text but yeah. God of Knowledge, weird freak, a Vriska.

Day ruined

Okay guys I think I should quit the fandom and in generally never create any interpretation ever again. I wrote her like two years ago in summer 2021, my version of Izzy, an obscure character from Bloodborne:

- Has motivation of 'if everyone is a beast, then no one is a beast' in the end

- Defends people like Suspicious Beggar who legit has beasthood genetically (Loran) and it wasn't their own fault

- As result, culturally appropriates tries to self-inflict beastial features of Loran kin upon herself

- Curses Yamamura's whole village

- Has long brown hair and slashing scar on her face that wounded one of her eyes

- Is one of the people against the corrupt order that governs her world (in BB that's Moon's vicious cycle of ascension vs hunt that I keep rambling about, and its simps Laurence, Ludwig and Gehrman)

I've been FUCKING writing a waifu version of Dung Eater THIS WHOLE FUCKING TIME.

Public holidays

Public holidays can be set by the federal government or the Länder. Only the Day of German Unity is set by federal law; the rest of them, even those celebrated all over Germany, are made holidays by state legislation. As a result, there are between ten and thirteen (in Bavaria), depending on the state. Most states have either ten or eleven public holidays.

The nine holidays observed nationwide are the following: 

January 1 - Neujahrstag (New Year’s Day)

Karfreitag (Good Friday)

Ostermontag (Easter Monday)

May 1 - Tag der Arbeit (Labor Day)

Christi Himmelfahrt (Ascension Day): it commemorates the ascension of Jesus into Heaven and takes place 39 days after Easter Sunday.

Pfingstmontag (Whit Monday): it celebrates the descent of the Holy Spirit and marks the resumption of ordinary time. It takes place fifty days after Easter.

October 3 - Tag der Deutschen Einheit (German Unity Day): this holiday commemorates German reunification in 1990.

Public holidays observed in only some states include:

January 6 - Heilige Drei Könige (Epiphany) - Baden-Württemberg (BW), Bavaria (BY), and Saxony-Anhalt (ST): it celebrates the visit of the Three Wise Men after the birth of Christ. Groups of children dressed as the Three Wise Men known as Sternsinger (star singers) go from door to door to sing, ask for donations for worthy causes, and perform the traditional house blessing by marking the year over the door with chalk.

October 31 - Reformationstag (Reformation Day) - Brandenburg (BB), Bremen (HB), Hamburg (HH), MV, Lower Saxony (NI), Saxony (SN), ST, Schleswig-Holstein (SH), and TH: it celebrates the onset of the reformation, as Martin Luther nailed his Ninety-five Theses on this day.

November 1 - Allerheiligen (All Saints’ Day) - BW, BY, NW, RP, and SL: this holiday commemorates all Christian saints.

Buß- und Bettag (Repentance and Prayer Day) - SN: it falls on the second Wednesday before the First Sunday in Advent.

While Father’s Day has a fixed date (Ascension Day), Mother’s Day takes place on the second Sunday of May. Furthermore, there is another unofficial holiday, Rosenmontag (“rose Monday”), which takes place on the Monday before Ash Wednesday. It is a de facto holiday in Catholic western and southern Germany, and especially celebrated in Carnival strongholds such as Aachen, Bonn, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Mainz.

Some public holidays (Good Friday, All Saints, and Prayer and Repentance Day) are quiet days (stille Tage), which means that public dancing, live music at inns, and noisy activities around the house, such as playing loud music, vacuuming, and construction with electric tools, are prohibited.

Holidays that always fall on Sunday are not determined by law but are quiet days: Volkstrauertag (Memorial Day), which takes place two Sundays before the first day of Advent and commemorates people who died in armed conflicts, both military and civilian, and Totensonntag (Sunday of the Dead), which is the Protestant equivalent of All Souls’ Day that commemorates the faithfully departed and falls on the last Sunday of the liturgical year in the Evangelical Church.

Some days that are not designated as public holidays are quiet days in certain states, such as Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Holy Saturday, All Souls’ Day, and Christmas Eve (beginning in the afternoon).
