◇ Gil & S/O & Ava ○ - Envy

Gil is a good Christian boy.

He knows not of the world of physical displays of affection, you just know that any sexual behaviour would be discouraged in the Titan regime. He would be so terribly touch starved, the second his S/O’s lips make contact with any part of his body, he melts. He likes hugs and hand holding, but when things get hot and heavy this boy is hopeless. A part of Gil feels guilty or dirty when he gets aroused, but he soon forgets when his S/O starts kissing his neck.

To Gil – who has no real in-person connections to anyone – he would feel rather territorial. He feels special being the only one his S/O touches, so when his S/O kisses Ava’s forehead even if she’s crying in her sleep, Gil would feel extremely jealous. It would 100% turn into an argument, we all know Gil isn’t afraid to bite back when he feels attacked. Of course, he’d snap at Ava first, she ruined his life now she wants to take his man? Not going to happen. And if his S/O tried to defend her, the result would be catastrophic.

TLDR: Gil’s love is possessive.

Ava's Demon theory on Gil's personal love interest

So we all know that Gil is heavily speculated to be in love and will later on be rejected by Odin leading to his demise to express the sin of "envy." But possibly could Gil still end up with the person in his dreams but not exactly Odin? So there have been some theories Ive read that Olai and Odin could be twin brothers, so if they are they are, they would most likely look the same or be similar in appearance. I know thats not enough for Gil to actually like Olai but considering how symbols play a huge part in the story and (correct me if Im wrong) how Michelle stated that every panel has a meaning(considering the details), Ive gathered some images that could support my point.

in Gil's dream we see Odin with a crown, badges, and "rings" that have numerous diamond shaped designs in each ornament. This could just symbolize how Gil likes to have his own lover be decorated in symbols that represents himself, but personally I interpret this as a foreshadowing that Gil's personal interest later on could be someone accessing and representing these symbols and here we have Olai doing those things

As you can see from almost most of the imageries we see Olai show up, the symbol diamond is almost always shown. From his eyes, necklace, rings and even his computer. We all know how symbols and shapes are important in Avas demon and i think this might be another foreshadowing Michelle is showing. And considering how most of the diamonds symbols are both in the form of rings in both Olai's panels and Gil's dream this could havily emphasize the later connection of the two.

New Symbolism Notes (Panel #0168)

With Ava's Demon being back, I think now more than ever it'd be fun to re-analyse the earlier segments with our new knowledge. This theory is basiclaly just bullet points to get my ass back in the game.

Panel #0168 has been topic for discussion since the DAWN of Ava's demon, but with the context of the last few years of updates, it'd be interesting to take a look back and re-examine this frame's contents.

It establishes symbolism; This post for the most part, will be me recording these connections for public use since they will likel be helpful in the future.

Maggie — Green/Triangle: Association with butterflies. (Confirmed in her cast image; Not much to say here but it may come into play down the line.)

Gil — Diamonds/Blue, he's represented by the fish to the right (as also seen in cast image), but what on earth does it mean that they're in crystals??

Erios — Lime green / Stars, the creature here is bizarre... will they also become a monster of failure? Most of the others are clearly identifiable beings but this one isn't... makes me worried Gil isn't the only one we need to worry about.

Veevra — Crescent, red (connection to scavengers) is represented here by an insect looking creature? A wasp perhaps? (RE: Hivemind theory.)

AngelicPurr — Pink/Hearts, we're seeing them connected to a snake here? I'm curious how that may come into play later, especially with its fangs being bared here...

Also a bonus connection that isn't established here but is consistent throughout the comic is that Pedri is HEAVILY associated with dragonflies, and his presence is almost always proceeded by them. We've discussed this already heavily on this blog so I won't dig into it much more until we have new info on this.

people might've pointed this out already since erios and excessans were introduced two years ago, but i really like the detail of titan's influence throughout the entire webcomic

excessans and their language, for example. it's not weird to think about all the way titan has pushed his culture into the planets and races it colonizes, especially when we get erios admitting to just sign a bunch of shit for strategos that they most likely don't pay attention to. like look at this???

(shoutout to excessans for just singing their entire language btw, it's very cute to me that they're all just. naturals at music)

their fuckin capitalization directly takes from titan's own alphabet. the first letter of the sentence and any sort of capitalization MUST be from titan's alphabet. and even in their own excessan sites and what not, there's an awful lot of titan's language thrown in

and here, a public announcement that reads "new video from dj byte", only the word "from" is written in excessan?

and you could argue that titan language is just easier to use, because more ppl speak and read it. but in TITANS HEADQUARTERS, things are written in the regular alphabet we know

and this isn't some excessan translation moment where we're shown an edited version from their reality so that we can read, because we see that titan language, regular english and excessan are three distinct languages in many occasions? the best example i have at hand is the titan imports to excessa, which are a mix of excessan and titan language (with very few english words thrown in)

...WHICH ODIN SPECIFICALLY MENTIONS NOT BEING ABLE TO READ. AND THAT CHECKS OUT GIVEN HIS BACKGROUND

i just think it's very neat, and it adds a lot of layers to how titan treats the planets he conquers and owns. cause maggie and ava were from a titan refuge/reeducation planet, full of people titan saw as disposable given the scavenger's attack at the beginning of the webcomic. and then odin is from a planet that literally never encountered titan (SUS. VERY SUS. BUT THATS ANOTHER THOUGHT FOR ANOTHER DAY). so it makes sense that these three lack any visual details relating them to titan

but then there's gil, blind devotee to the religion, and erios, political ally to titan, who have these sort of T-shaped collars on their clothes

i mean it could all be a fun coincidence, or common knowledge confirmed through the streams and all but i just rlly love to look into things and the way the designs and everything just work out so well with the worldbuilding and character dynamics has me on a CHOKEHOLD
